MABLE A. COREY
PALMYRA & BELFAST - Mable A. Corey, 81, died unexpectedly March 10, 1999 at her Badgerboro Road residence. She was born December 28, 1917 at Belfast the daughter of John and Elsie (Prescott) Grindle. She graduated from West Baldwin High School and had been employed as a dietician for many years at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast, retiring in 1975. She lived in the Belfast and Searsport area most of her life, until she moved to Palmyra in 1993 to live with her grand-daughter, Deborah Colcord, and family.

She is survived by 3 sons, Robert Corey of Florida, Alan Corey of Thomaston, and Roger Corey of Alaska; 1 daughter, Wannitta Wilson of Sabattus; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.

There will be no public visiting hours. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, March 12th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, with Rev. Michael Stephenson of the Calvary Baptist Church of Newport officiating. Spring burial will be in the Gordon Cemetery, Searsport.

NELLIE "NELL" A. (HINTON) DINSMORE
SKOWHEGAN - Nellie A. Dinsmore, 66, died peacefully March 5, 1999 at home with her family after a courageous battle with lymphoma. She was born March 5, 1933 in Cambridge the daughter of Clarence and Susie (McKenney) Hinton. She spent her childhood and school years in the Unity/Thorndike area, graduating from Unity High School, Class of 1951. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be greatly missed by her relatives and friends. She had lived in Florida for the past 25 years with her life's companion, Frank J. Palumbo, where they worked as property managers before returning home.

In addition to Frank, Nell is survived by her children, Craig A. Dinsmore, Sharee M. (Dinsmore) Fitton, and her husband Michael W., and Scott A. Dinsmore; her grandchildren, Megan A. Fitton and Susan M. Fitton; step-grandchildren, Brie and Jeremy Dinsmore; her brothers and sisters, Muriel Bailey of Denair, CA, Clarence Hinton of Sebec Village, Evelyn Crowther of Rockland, Secha Mason, Jana Hinton, Ellen MacMichael, and Esther Chiddix, all of Skowhegan, Julia Marcia and Beverly Schmidt, both of Pittsfield; a special friend, Doris Kearney; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, James A. Hinton, and a sister, M. Pat Brochu.

A celebration of her life will be held 2 P.M. Monday, March 8th, at the Skowhegan Federated Church, Island Avenue, Skowhegan, with Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 P.M. until the time of the service. A spring committal will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 52 Federal Street, Brunswick, ME 04011. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

RUTH E. GREELEY
DEXTER & PARKMAN - Ruth E. Greeley, 81, wife of William T. Greeley, died March 5, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born April 2, 1917 at Waterville, the daughter of Roscoe and Susan (Jones) Downing. She had lived in Parkman, and had worked at Hardwood Products for 28 years. She was a member of the Cambridge Baptist Church. In 1989, she moved to Dexter.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years; 3 daughters, Laura and husband Gordon Withee of Dexter, Shirley Malave of CT, Marlene and husband Martin Glidden of Orrington; 1 sister, Ella Morin of Fairfield; 8 grandchildren, Joni and Jon Hanson, Kirk and Troy Malave, Wanda Veilleux, Traci Gionfrido, Stacy and Jason Glidden; 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Oak Street, Guilford, with Rev. Harold Wheeler officiating. Spring burial will be in Pingree Center Cemetery, Parkman.

GLENNIE A. (LANGLEY) BOYLAN
NEWPORT - Glennie Alice (Langley) Boylan, 94, passed away peacefully March 4, 1999 at her life long home in East Newport with two of her daughters, Karlene and Linda, by her side. She was born at home April 17, 1904 the daughter of George and Annette (Lawrence) Langley. She attended Newport High School. In 1920, Glennie married Frank F. Boylan and together they ran the family farm and raised nine children. She was employed by Snowflake Canning Company for a few years in the 1960's, however, most of her life was devoted to the loving care, including knitting and crocheting, for her large family of which she was very proud. That love, care, and devotion was returned to her in full measure during the last few years of her life.

She will be deeply missed by eight loving children; two sons, Stanley and his wife Joyce of Arlington, Texas, and Lauris Boylan of Newport; six daughters, Arlene and her husband Eursel Mullis, Lorraine and her husband Richard Stone, Jean Beem, Karlene Boylan and Linda Boylan, all of Newport, and Muriel Boylan of Bangor; 20 grandchildren, Sharon (Mullis) Young, Michael and Stuart Mullis, Penny and Jeffrey Boylan, Carol Pippen, Larry, Patrick, Wayne and Annette Gregoire, Tawnya (Gregoire) Croft, Sally (Boylan) Cook, Patsy Boylan, Lori (Boylan) Weaver, Gary, Stephen, and Kathy Beem, Tammy (Beem) Ellis, Rebecca (Beem) Hart, and Donna (Beem) Cray; 36 great grandchildren, Kimberly (Young) Marquis, Renee (Young) Dobson, David Young, Jason Mullis, Destiny Mullis, Chris, Shawn, Hillary, Tiffany, Toby, and Cara Boylan, Colby Pippen, Colleen (Gregoire) Gervais, Shawn, Jason, Patrick, Jessica, Matthew, and Nicole Gregoire, Caitlin, Heidi, and Logan Croft, Melissa (Cook) Bryant, Kelly (Hall) Wilkinson, Rachel Weaver, Eli and Sierra Beem, Karen, Michelle, Kristina, Melinda and Kelly Hart, Amanda, Jennifer, and Tonya Cray, and Matthew Ellis; 6 great great grandchildren, Nathan and Kristina Marquis, Hayley Boylan, Allison Gervais, Dustin Bryant, and Emma Wilkinson. She was predeceased by her husband in 1970, a daughter, Lucille Gregoire in 1996, and two grandsons, Ronald Mullis and Francis Gregoire.

Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, March 7th, with Pastor Al Worden of the High Street Congregational Church officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport. COLIN GLENN ADELT
DEXTER, Colin Glenn Adelt, infant son of Patrick and Winnie (Pike) Adelt, died 03-01-1999 at a Bangor hospital.

He is survived by his parents and a brother William Adelt all of Dexter; paternal grandparents Michael Adelt of Floridaand Katherine Priestof Garland; maternal grandmother Ethel Pike of Wellington.

Private memorial services will be held at the family home. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter. 924-6890

GEORGE BENJAMIN BUBAR

ETNA- George Benjamin Bubar, 87, died at his home in Etna February 28, 1999. He was the son of Merrill & Etta (Dickison) Bubar. He was married to Edith (Emerson) Bubar for 41 years and she predeceased him in 1987. He, together, with his wife Edith, founded the Etna Furniture Stores. He was a member of Bangor Baptist Church and also attended the Messiah Baptist Church in Bangor. He was director of Etna-Dixmont schools for a number of years and served on the district building committee.

He is survived by Edith's daughter and Husband, Virginia and Dale Hopkins and their daughter and husband Faith and Darrell Thompson and their children, Brian and Katie Thompson all of Etna; one brother Milton of Palmyra; 2 sisters; Bessie Hamm of Corinna and Mary Wilson of Houlton; several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his wife Laura (Rockwell) Bubar, his parents, 2 sisters Kathleen Griffith, Helen Clark; and one brother Sheldon Bubar.

Friends may call Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Crosby and Neal Funeral Home, 64 main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held Wednesday 1 pm with pastor Herman C. (Buddy) Frankland and Pastor John Mistretta officiating. Spring burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Etna, 368-4331

ANNA M. CROUSE
DEXTER, Anna M. Crouse, 74, died Feb. 26, 1999 at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 27, 1924, in Dexter, daughter of Hanford and Carrie (Carter) Crouse. She graduated from N.H. Fay High School in 1942 and then received her B.A. degree from the University of Maine in 1947. She received a B.M degree in music education from the Northern Conservatory of Music in Bangor in 1955 and a M.S. degree in music education from the New York State University College at Potsdam in 1964. She later attended summer courses at Boston University, Temple University as well as Extension courses at the University of Maine in Augusta and Gorham. She received the Senior Music Award for participation in music groups and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was the Public School Supervisor of music for the City of Bangor and later for the Town of Mexico for 29 years. She was a member of the Music Dept at the University of Maine in Farmington for 2 years, and was the Coral Director at the Maine Music Camp from 1966-1980. In 1978 Anna retired to Dexter where she continued to teach privately. She served as Organist and Choir Director for the Dexter United Methodist Church and as a guest Conductor for Festival Groups. She was also piano accompanist for the Dexter High School Chorus and musicals and accompanied and assisted the conducting of the Community chorus. Her personal and professional memberships include, the Dexter First Baptist Church, Music Educators National Conference, Maine Music Educators Association and received their Music Educator of the Year Award in 1978, Past President of the American String Association, the American Choral Directors Association and the Maine Educator’s Association; she was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association, the American Association of Retired Persons where she served as the State Health Advocate, and was currently serving as President of the Piscataquis Retired Teachers Assoc. She was a member of the Women’s Legislative Council, the International Training in Communications- Brunswick Club, Dexter Women’s Literary Club, Dexter Sunshine Club, Dexter Public Health Assoc., and the Bangor and Brewer Bands.

She is survived by three nephews, Barry and his wife Dodie Crouse of Abbot, Jere and his wife Sharon Crouse of New York and Fred Crouse of Sangerville; an aunt Bertha Carter Cushman of Orono, a special cousin Virginia Cushman Ferrara of New Mexico; several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Keith Crouse.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Dexter with Rev. Jay Brennan and Rev. Jo Bennett officiating. Spring burial will be in the Crouseville Cemetery. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Dexter Sunshine Club, c/o Winifred Crocker, Pleasant St., Dexter, ME 04930 or to the United Methodist Church Music Fund c/o Edie Partridge, 77 Line Road, Dexter, ME 04930.

ERROLL R. NUITE
Sangerville - Erroll R. Nuite, 91, loving husband of the late Nathalie (Browne) Nuite, died March 1, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born in Sangerville May 3, 1907, the son of Lewis and Lena (Gilman) Nuite. He worked as a dairy farmer on the home farm in Sangerville for many years. He was a Golden Sheaf Member of South Sangerville Grange, belonging to the order over 70 years. He was a member of Piscataquis Pomona Grange, and was a parishioner of the Messiah Episcopal Church of Dexter.

He is survived by three sister in laws, Katherine Nuite of Sangerville, Florence Leighton of Dexter and Ruth Street of MD, three nephews, Bradley, Graham, and Wilson of Sangerville and one niece, Barbara Lockwood of Dover-Foxcroft, several cousins, Grand nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife and one brother, Doran L. Nuite.

A graveside service will be held in the family lot in the Gilman cemetery in So. Sangerville in the spring.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Pine State Cremation Service.

ALTON L. "PAT" GOULD
RIPLEY, Alton L. “Pat” Gould, 85, died 03-01-1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born 11-18-1913 in Ripley, son of Harry and Lucy (Skillings) Gould. He was a woodsman and farmer all of his life. He was an avid horseman and a member of the Maine Draft Horse Association.

He is survived by 2 daughters Marjorie Deering of Ripley and Anita and her husband John Jewett of Dexter; a daughter in law Emile Gould of Dexter; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude (Downing) Gould in 1975, 2 sons Robert Gould and Blaine Gould and a brother Guy Gould.

Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 PM at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held Thursday 1:30 PM at the funeral home with spring burial in the Ferndale cemetery in Ripley.

FRANCES (JERNIGAN) ENGSTROM
NEWPORT, DETROIT & WINTERPORT – Frances (Jernigan) Engstrom, 52, died September 23, 1999 at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. She was born October 31, 1946 at Darlington, SC, the daughter of Melvin and Louise (Isget) Jernigan.

She is survived by her mother, Louise Trevitt of Darlington, SC; her step-mother, Maxine Jernigan of interport; 2 daughters, Laurie Gray of Michigan and Donna Ventrano Of Hampden; 4 grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Nicole and Ashley; brothers and Sisters, Ronald Jernigan, Judy Pridgen and Thomas Johnson, all of Darlington, SC, Merita Lindsey and Marshall Jernigan of Winterport; as well as her former mother-in-law and special friend, Ruth Engstrom of Newport. She was predeceased by her husband Eric Rosengren, her father, and brothers, Robert and Merlin.

A graveside committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Ellingwood Corner Cemetery, Winterport. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

DAVID T. KEYTE, SR.
DEXTER - David T. Keyte, Sr. 62, died 09-27-1999 at the camp in Garland. He was born 06-24-1937 in Dexter, son of Frederick and Claire (Russell) Keyte. He served in the US Army. He worked for Dexter Shoe Co. in Dexter as a finish specialist for about 40 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed NASCAR racing. He loved his family and especially enjoyed being around his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Julia (Dudley) Keyte of Dexter; two sons and their wives, David and Rhonda Keyte of Sangerville and Jeffrey and Roberta Keyte of NY; a daughter and her husband, Lisa and John Farnham of Exeter; 3 brothers and their wives, William and Viola Keyte of Dexter, John and Norma Keyte of FL and Peter and Anne Keyte of Dexter; a sister and her husband, Margaret and Howard Sevey of Ripley; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer and Joshua Farnham, Rachael and Amanda Keyte and David and Jared Keyte; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 pm at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held Fri 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jamie Cahill officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter.

MARGUERITE (KEANE) ZAMBONA
CORINNA – Marguerite Zambona, 97, wife of the late Otto Zambona, died September 26, 1999 at a Hartland nursing home. She was born March 20, 1902 at Holyoke, MA The daughter of Patrick and Mary Anne (Kennedy) Keane. Marguerite and Otto were married in Holyoke April 7, 1934. They moved to Corinna when Otto became Superintendent of manufacturing at Eastland Woolen Mill.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Earl and Sally, a grandson William, and great granddaughter, Jessi, all of Etna; Several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Corinna Center Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 52 Federal Street, Brunswick 04011. Arrangements are by Crosby and Neal Funeral Chapel, Corinna.

THERESA M. (PICKARD) KORTECAMP
DEXTER, Theresa M. (Pickard) Kortecamp, formerly of Dexter, died Sept. 24, 1999 at a Portland nursing home at the age of 74. She had been a resident of Cedars Nursing Care Facility since suffering a stroke while visiting her son's family. She was born Nov. 8, 1924 in Northbridge, Mass. daughter of Phydime and Florida (Thirrien) Pickard. Theresa was one of 11 children, 9 of whom survived into adulthood. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter. For 25 years she was employed by Dexter Shoe. Co. in Dexter. Following her retirement she volunteered at the Dexter Nursing Home. Theresa was an excellent cook who took pleasure in preparing favorite meals for family and guests. She also enjoyed extended visits with her son's family in Chicago, Washington D.C. and Sacrborough.

She was married for 31 years to John (Red) Kortecamp, who passed away in 1977. She was a resided on Main Street in Dexter for 38 years before her stroke in 1991. Immediately surviving her are her son and his wife, John Eugene and Karen Kortecamp and their children, Erin Marie Kortecamp and Evan John Kortecamp all of Glenwood, Maryland. Also surviving are three brothers, Oscar, Gerard and Eugene Pickard all of Linwood, Mass.; four sisters, Dorales Trottier, Lucille Roy and Rachel Blair all of Linwood, Mass. and Gertrude Mahoney of San Jose, Cal..She was recently predeceased by a sister Rita Berkowitz.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter.

SADIE M. NUTTER
RIPLEY, Sadie M. Nutter, 96, died Sept. 23, 1999, at a Hartland nursing home. She was born March 24, 1903, in Cambridge, daughter of John and Margaret (Dunn) Morrill. She worked on the farm with her husband George for many years. After his death she worked at the Hartland Tannery and later for Northeast Shoe in Pittsfield. She was a member of the Ripley Grange, the Ripley United Methodist Church and the Palmyra Senior Citizens. Several years ago she was presented the Gold Cane by the Christmas Carol Club, as the oldest citizen of Ripley.

She is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Walter and Hilda Nutter of Hartland and Harold and Camilla Nutter of St. Albans; three daughters, Evelyn and her husband Daniel Preston of Rockland, Arlene Lewis of Palmyra and Dorothy and her husband Emile DuBois of Ripley; 2 sisters, Anna and her husband Frank Wheeler and Cora and Stanley Spain and a sister in law Florence Morrill all of Mass.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 6-8 PM Saturday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with burial in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter.
