ETNA – A graveside committal service for Barbara V. Mitchell, who died March 21, 2000, will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, May 10th, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

MAX K. MONROE
SANGERVILLE, Graveside committal services for Max K. Monroe, 69, who died March 14, 2000 will be held Saturday May 13 at 11 AM at the Village cemetery in Sangerville, with Rev. Dr. Margaret “Dodie” Stowe officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.

MADELINE R. (DUCETTE) ATWATER
DEXTER, Graveside committal services for Madeline R. (Ducette) Atwater, 85, who died Feb. 22, 2000, will be held Friday May 12 at 11 AM at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter with Rev. Harold Wheeler officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.

DOMINIC “NICK” GAGLIARDO
NEWPORT - Dominic Gagliardo, 79, died May 9, 2000 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born September 27, 1920 at Hartford, CT the son of Thomas and Mary (Gagliardo) Gagliardo. He retired from Banton Brothers Mill in 1983, and continued working part Time at Bud's Shop and Save in Newport for another 10 years. He was a member of the North Newport Grange and attended the Newport Full Gospel Church. He was predeceased by his wife Hazel, who died in October 1999.

He is survived by his son Thomas and wife Lois Gagliardo of Newport; 1 brother Leo Gagliardo of Hartford, CT; 2 grandsons, David and Paul; 2 great grand-daughters, Kelly and Carla; many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service at the family lot, North Newport Cemetery, 2 P.M. Friday, May 19th, with the Rev. Carl Engstrom, Pastor of Newport Full Gospel Church officiating. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Newport Full Gospel Church Building Fund; P.O. Box 189; Newport. 04953. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

MARGUERITE B. RANDAZZO
ABBOT, Marguerite B. Randazzo, 94, died May 9, 2000, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born November 26, 1905 in Lincoln, daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Frost) Kimball. For many years she owned and operated Randy’s Motel and Restaurant in Nashua, New Hampshire. After retirement she moved to Maine where she raised animals, made butter and cheese, and was famous for her doughnuts and apple pies. As the oldest citizen of Abbot, she was the holder of the Gold Cane. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Abbot.

She is survived by two daughters; Eleanor Sears and her husband Raymond of Parkman, and Betty Tower of Abbot; a daughter in law Margaret Watt of Sangerville; seven grandchildren, Ronald Nelson, Arlene Stinson, Randy Nelson, Lynda Sears, Scott Watt and Donald Watt; a brother and his wife, Roland and Viola Kimball of Florida; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Randazzo, a son, Leonard Robert Watt and a grandson, Paul Nelson.

Private visitation and graveside services have been arranged by the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home in Guilford. Public Memorial services will be held at 1 PM Saturday at the Kingdom Hall in Abbot with Wayne Evans officiating.

AGNES E. WILLIAMS
DEXTER, Agnes E. Williams, 76, died May 11, 2000 at a Dexter health care facility.She was born in Ellsworth, Oct. 14, 1923, daughter of Havard and Madeline (Dorgan) Jellison. She was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, class of 1941. She owned and operated the Brooks Confectionary and Variety Store on Main Street in Dexter for several years. Agnes was a Life Member of the Wassookeag Chapter #44 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter.

She is survived by a son, Donald Brooks of Augusta and a stepdaughter and her husband, Bernice and Francis Garland of Carmel.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the time of the service. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter. Those who wish may make donations in Agnes’ memory to the First Baptist Church, 5 Main Street Hill, Dexter, ME 04930.

ROLAND V. BUCK
CORINNA – Roland V. Buck, 86, a well-known Corinna farmer and selectman, died May 16, 2000 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born September 25, 1913 at Palmyra the son of Percy and Naomi (Lovely) Buck. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1933. Roland owned and operated Prairie View Farms in Corinna for many years. In addition to being a potato farmer, he was also a potato broker, and member of the Maine Potato Board and Maine Potato Council. In 1962, he was named Outstanding Farmer by the University of Maine. He was a member of Parian Lodge, Masons of Corinna, and a member of Morses Corner Baptist Church. He served for 33 years as a Selectman for the Town of Corinna, also serving as Chairman of the Board. Roland loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Thelma (Soule) Buck; a son Terry and his wife Esther Buck; 2 daughters, Charlene Emerson and her husband Kenneth, Diane Nye and her husband Philip, all of Corinna; 1 niece, Beverly Mullins of Bangor; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, Exeter Road, Corinna. A graveside service will be held at noon Friday, May 19th, at the family lot, Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna, with the Rev. Timothy Hutchins, Pastor of Morses Corner Baptist Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Steven and Cory Buck, Randy and Patrick Nye, Allen Emerson, and grandson-in-law, James "Butch" Murray. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Davis and Bradley Fish. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Corinna Ambulance Service, P.O. Box L, Corinna, ME 04928. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral chapel.

NORMAN F. CURTIS
HARTLAND & TROY —Norman F. Curtis, Sr., 70, died May 17, 2000 at a Millinocket hospital. He was born August 5, 1929 at Katahdin Iron Works the son of Marcus and Florence (Emery) Curtis. Norman owned and operated the North Country Guide Service, was a lifetime member of the NRA and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartland.

He is survived by his fiancée, Carol Packard of Troy; a son, Norman “Sonny” F. Curtis, Jr. and his wife Patsy of Hartland; 3 daughters, Dianne Brown and her husband Dale of Hartland, Florence Kimball and her husband Victor of St. Cloud, FL and Linda Crocker and her husband Richard of St. Albans; 2 sisters, Edwina Lovely and her husband Marvin of Burnham, Sharon Breton and her husband Norman of Augusta; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, including Steven; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Curtis, a sister, Beverly Lunt, a grandson, John Cook, Jr. and a son-in-law, John Cook, Sr.

Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. Friday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, May 20th, with the Rev. Norman Finnemore officiating. Burial will be in the family lot, Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P O. Box 346, Augusta, ME 04330.

PAUL F. NASON
DETROIT & PITTSFIELD – Paul F. Nason, 89, died May 18, 2000 at his North Road residence in Detroit. He was born May 18, 1911 at Pittsfield the son of Elmer and Grace (Osgood) Nason. He graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Class of 1930. Paul was a retired florist and had owned and operated Nason's Flower Shop and Greenhouse in Pittsfield for many years. He was a member of the First Universalist Church of Pittsfield, and will be remembered as an avid supporter of the Republican Party.

He is survived by nieces and nephews: Linwood Eaton of Exeter, Philip Eaton of Long Island, New York, Gwen Elliott of Corinth, Patricia Wilson of Millinocket, Robert Palmer of Corinna, George Nason of Augusta, and Henry Nason of Colorado.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Monday, May 22nd, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. Connie Huntley officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until time of service. Burial will be in the family lot, Pittsfield Village Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the First Universalist Church of Pittsfield, c/o Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport 04953.

CATHERINE B. SPEARRIN
PITTSFIELD – Catherine B. Spearrin, 82, died May 18, 2000 at Ross Manor in Bangor. She was born January 26, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Patrick and Agnes (FitzPatrick) Bardon. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, and Pace Business School, both in Yonkers, and Westchester College in White Plains, New York. She also did Post Graduate work at the Traphagen School of Fashion and Design. She was an executive secretary with the Comb Pharmaceutical Company of White Plains, New York, and retired in 1983 as the Cancer Registrar at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Old Town. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1979.

Catherine will be remembered by a special friend, Ann Michaud of Newport.

Placement of the remains will be in Christ Church Columbarium, Bronxville, NY. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

ELAINE "DEE" WILSON
NEWPORT – Elaine D. (Foss) Wilson, 55, died May 19, 2000 at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 7, 1945 at Ellsworth the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (Joy) Foss. She graduated from Sumner Memorial High School and worked for many years as A sardine packer for Stinson Canning Company. At the time of her death she had been Employed at Central Maine Cleaning Service in Bangor.

She is survived by a son, Shane And his wife Lori Hankins of California; a daughter, Holly Hankins and close friend Ozzie Crowley of Newport; one brother, Leslie and Leola Foss of Gouldsboro; a sister, Marjorie “Jeanie” Small of Gouldsboro; 3 grandchildren, Lauren Hankins, Blaine and Adrianna Ruiz; several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Betty Gilbert, Ronald Sawyer, and Bert “ Moose “ Muncey.

Private burial will be in West Bay Cemetery, Gouldsboro. In lieu of flowers, donations In her memory may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 31 St. James Avenue, Suite 960A, Boston 02116. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

GEORGE P. ALLEN SR
CORINTH - George P. Allen Sr., 49, died at his home Sunday evening, May 21, 2000, after a long battle with a terminal illness. He was born Nov. 24, 1950, in Milo. He attended East Corinth Academy and was owner of Allen's Auto Repair and former owner of Allen's Animal Shelter, currently known as Little Paws Animal Shelter. He has gone to be with his sons, Lyman, Christopher and Matthew Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Eva A. (Cunningham) Allen; also his parents, Fred and Mary Allen of Corinth; in-laws, John and Ruth Cunningham of Hudson; his four children, George P. Allen Jr. and wife, Connie of Bradford, Eva Barta and husband, Franklin of Germany, Kerry Allen and fianc‚, Bill Smith of Charleston, Denise Allen and fianc‚, J.J. French of LaGrange; his three grandchildren, Breanna Lancaster, Dalton Allen and Kaleb French; his brothers and sisters, Ruth Trask of Hudson, Paul Allen of Augusta and Carol Bogdonavich of Massachusetts, Fred Allen Sr. of Pittsfield, Barbara Storman of Hudson, Herbert Allen of Corinth, Richard Allen of Kenduskeag, James Allen of Pittsfield and Elaine Allen of New Hampshire. A special thanks to Tammie Tilton for the loving care and support during his final days and a thank you to all his close friends.

Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday evening at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, where a service will be held at 7 p.m. with Deacon John Guerin and Dalton Dunfee officiating. Friends who wish may make a donation to any Cancer Foundation of their choice. Arrangements are in the care of Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Rd., Corinth.

BETTY L. FISH
CORINNA – Betty L. Fish, 63, died unexpectedly May 22, 2000 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born October 20, 1936 at Abbot the daughter of Merton and Cora (Hathaway) Clark. She graduated from Guilford High School, Class of 1955. Betty retired as a spinner from Eastland Woolen Mill when it was closed. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, and will be remembered as an avid bird watcher.

Survivors include her husband Bradley of Corinna; a son, Steve and wife Roberta of Dexter; 5 grandchildren, Kasey, Bethani, Jennifer and Ryan, all of Dexter; and Alex of Jefferson. She was predeceased by a daughter Lydia.

A graveside committal service will Be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 30th, at Lawn Cemetery, Guilford. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Bangor Street, Suite F.; Augusta 04338-2208. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, Corinna.

PAULINE E. TILESTON
ABBOT, Pauline E. Tileston, 67, died May 31, 2000 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born January 10, 1933 in Bristol, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Ralph and Sarah (Shanks) Grant. She worked for many years for Guilford of Maine and also loved selling Avon products. She enjoyed knitting and taking care of her family.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert W. Tileston of Abbot; a son and his wife James and Elizabeth Morin Sr. of Parkman; a daughter and her husband, Patricia and Russell Todd of Guilford; 6 grandchildren, Petie Morin, Linda Todd, Robert Todd, Don Tibbetts, James Morin Jr. and Joshua Morin; 12 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, LeRoy Grant and a sister, Beatrice Daggett.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Graveside services will be held 2:30 PM Saturday at the Pingree Center cemetery in Parkman with Pastor Daryl Witmer officiating.

EVANGELINE M. PULLYARD
SANGERVILLE, Evangeline M. Pullyard, 87, died 05-31-2000 at A Norway hospital. She was born January 27, 1913 in Dexter, daughter of Thomas and Mildred (Ganeau) Clukey. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Sangerville. She was predeceased by her husband Christopher Pullyard.

She is survived by 4 children, Dorothy Johnston of Greenville, Kenneth Pullyard of Sangerville, Keith Pullyard of Skowhegan, Bernard Pullyard of Solon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; five sisters, Regina Webb of Palmyra, Dorilda Worster of Corinna, Shirley Worster, Gloria Cross and Barbara Cook all of Dexter; three brothers, Gerald Clukey of Sangerville, David Clukey of Corinna and Carol Clukey of Parkman; many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Monday at the Sangerville Village Cemetery. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.

PATTI A. GUDROE
DEXTER - Patti A. Gudroe, 40, died May 30, 2000, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital after a long and courageous battle with Lupus. She was born Oct. 23, 1959, at Bangor, the daughter of Leroy and Anita Webber, and the late Dolleen Simon. She graduated from Dexter Regional High School, Class of 1978, and married James K. Gudroe on Aug. 12, 1978. She enjoyed many things including hunting, camping, 4-wheeling and, most of all, functions with the Dexter Fire Department. She was a member of the Dexter Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Patti's love and determination for life will be remembered by many.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years; her two daughters, Mandee and Jaimie, all of Dexter; her brothers, George Webber of Kent, Wash., James Martin of Ellsworth, and David Simon of Orange, Mass; her sisters, Sandy Carlson of Baytown, Texas, Shirley Webber of Athol, Mass., and Sharon Davis of Franklin; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her sister, Terry; and her mother. Patti will also be remembered by three special brothers-in-law, Dickie and Mike, both of Dexter, and Rod of Farmington.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, with the Rev. Matthew Ward officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation of Maine, P.O. Box 1134, Portland, ME 04014. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
