BEATRICE "BEA" CONWAY
NEWPORT Beatrice L. (Pushor) Dyer Conway, 80, died February 4, 2001 at a Springfield, VT rehabilitation center. She was born April 23, 1920 at Corinna the daughter of Pearl and Ella (Willey) Pushor. She attended Corinna Union Academy and was employed for 20 years at Snowflake Canning Company in Corinna. After the mill burned she worked for 10 years at Bishop's Boarding Home, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Newport Senior Citizens.

Bea was predeceased by her first husband, James Dyer, her second husband, Francis "Bill" Conway, and a brother, Carl Pushor. She is survived by a son Denzel Dyer of Greenfield, NH; 2 daughters, Mrs. Walter (Frances) Giroux of Charlestown, NH, and Sally Dyer of St. Albans; several half-brothers and half-sisters; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 nephews and a number of cousins.

Her friends and family may call from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, February 8th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, beside her second husband.

WAYNE A. DONALDSON
ETNA - Wayne A. Donaldson, 64, died unexpectedly February 2, 2001 while ice fishing at Branch Lake in Ellsworth. He was born February 26, 1936 in Etna the son of Stanley and Bernice (Cochrane) Donaldson, as the 5th generation of Donaldson's to be born in the Town of Etna. He graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1954. Wayne retired from the Teamster's Union, South Portland Local 340, as a construction worker. He was a past member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Etna and will be remembered as an avid sportsman.

On February 3, 1991, he married the former Barbara J. Collins of Skowhegan. In addition to his wife of Etna, he is survived by 1 son and his wife, Michael and Martha Donaldson of Thorndike; 2 step-daughters, Marlene Anderson of Skowhegan, and Evelyn Curtis of Pittsfield; 1 brother, Richard and wife Linda Donaldson of Etna; 2 sisters, Donna and husband William Moore of Saugus, MA; Pamala and husband David Buck of Etna; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Warren Donaldson.

Friends may call from 6 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday, February 7th, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Spring Interment will be in the family lot, Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna. Memorial donations may be made to the Etna-Dixmont School Library, c/o SAD # 38,Etna, ME 04434.

BARBARA ALLEN CRAIG
EAST CORINTH - Funeral services for Barbara Allen Craig will be held 11 a.m. Monday, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of the Hermon Baptist Church, officiating. Spring Interment will be in Masardis Cemetery, Masardis. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., after the service Monday.

LIZA MARIE BENNETT & JACOB LEE MALOON
CORINNA - Liza Marie Bennett, 20, died February 4, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 8, 1980 at Frankfort, Germany, the daughter of Tony and Wanda (Nickerson) Bennett. She graduated from Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1998. She had been employed for several years at Dunkin Donuts in Newport. In high school, she was active in field hockey, cheerleading, and the auxiliary marching band. She had been awarded Girl Scouting’s second highest honor, the Silver Award.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her fiancé, Carlos E. Maloon, all of Corinna; paternal grandparents, Roberta and David of Corinna; maternal grandparents Arnold and Juanita of Skowhegan, Carla and Frank of Georgia; 2 brothers, Tony II and Jermey Lee Bennett, and a sister, Ketrina Lynn Bennett, all of Corinna; 6 uncles, an aunt, and 7 cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday, February 9th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 1 P.M. until the time of services. Spring committal services will be held at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna.

JACOB LEE MALOON
CORINNA - Jacob Lee Maloon, infant son of Carlos Maloon and the late Liza Bennett, died February 1, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Bangor on January 31, 2001.

He is survived by his father and maternal grandparents, Tony and Wanda Bennett, all of Corinna; paternal grandparents, Mary and Dennis Wright of Exeter; maternal great grandparents, Roberta and David of Corinna, Arnold and Juanita of Skowhegan, Carla and Frank of Georgia; and paternal great grandparents, Nita and Ralph of Detroit; 3 uncles, 2 aunts, and a cousin.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday, February 9th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, with the Rev. Mark Tanner Officiating. Friends of the family may call from 1 P.M. until the time of services. SpringCommittal services will be held at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna.

CHESTER L. EVANS
NEWPORT - Chester L. Evans, 70, died February 5, 2001 at a Pittsfield hospital following a long illness. He was born May 10, 1930 at Guilford the son of Chester D. and Beatrice (Ferris) Evans. Chet served in the U. S. Army shortly after the close of World War II. He was an overhead crane operator in Cleveland, OH, before returning to Maine, where he was employed at Bangor Mental Health Institute for 10 years. He then was a boiler operator at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna until it closed. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Edith (Dufault) Evans, 2 sons Neil and his wife Janet Evans, Kevin and his wife Jody Evans, all of Newport; 6 daughters Cheryl Evans and Barbara Peirce, both of Cocoa, FL, Beatrice and husband Edward Bowman of Newport, Cynthia and husband Mark Kennedy of Hynesville, Georgia, Marilyn and husband Edward Ouellette of Etna, and Andrea and husband Jack Heckle of Palmyra; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Newport.

DENNIS MICHAEL LAVIGNE
GREENVILLE - Dennis M. Lavigne, 43, loving husband of Janice (Elsemore) Lavigne, died Feb. 4, 2001, in Greenville. He was born Dec. 28, 1957, in Greenville, the son of Kenneth and Theresa (Goulet) Lavigne. He was a lifelong resident of Greenville and a graduate of Greenville High School. He was employed at Greenville High School for the last 15 years and was a member of Union No. 60. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was married to his wife, Janice, in 1982. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice; one son, Anthony James Lavigne; and one daughter, Sarah Lynne Lavigne; his mother, Theresa (Goulet) Lavigne; two brothers and their wives, Pat and Marcia, Mike and Debbie; six sisters, Priscilla and her husband, Paul, Gladys and her husband, Ken, Denise and her husband, Jeff, Cheryl, Carol and her husband, Bruce, and Karen; three brothers-in-law, Dana, Rocky and his wife, Karen, and Rob; his mother-in-law, Nancy Elsemore; two special nephews, Rock and Jerry; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A time of visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at McCrory Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville, with Fr. Ed Morin, presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dennis may be made to the Greenville Alumni Auditorium Fund and Music Camp, care of Dottie Gagne, United Kingfield Bank, P.O. Box 399, Greenville 04441. Arrangements by McCrory Funeral Home, Greenville.

JAMES R. FIELDS
GARLAND - James R. Fields, 53, died unexpectedly February 5, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. Private committal services will be held in the spring.

Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.

MADELINE “TINY” GUDROE
DEXTER- Madeline “Tiny” Gudroe, 62, wife of Richard Keith Gudroe of Dexter, went to be with the Lord February 5, 2001, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Garland, December 18, 1938, the daughter of Herbert and Sylvia (Stevens) Judkins. She attended Foxcroft Academy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and newly great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, farming, four-wheeling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a CNA and housekeeper at the Dexter and Pittsfield nursing homes for several years. She was an active member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church and she loved the Lord Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Keith Gudroe of Dexter; her mother, Sylvia Witherly of Florida; five loving sons, Domino of Dexter, Rodney of Farmington and his fiancé Barbara, Dick and his wife Tressa, Jim, Mike and his fiancé Faith, all of Dexter; 11 grandchildren, Amy, Mandee, Jaimie, Elijah, Noah, Michael, Justin, Thomas, Shekinah, Sasha, and Kelsey; one great-grandchild, Jacob, who was very special to her; three sisters, Shirley Judkins, Sandy Nickerson, and Rosalie Wyman; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be sadly missed by many special friends. She was predeceased by her father, her sister Renee Dinsmore, and a very special daughter-in-law Patti Gudroe.

Special thanks goes to the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Rev. Martin, and Pastor Libby. Friends and family may call Wednesday, February 7th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2pm at the Charleston Pentecostal Church with Pastor Ron Libby officiating. Spring burial will be at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter.

JENNIFER B. REDMAN
DEXTER, Jennifer B. Redman, 20, died Feb. 5, 2001 in Dexter from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born Oct. 30, 1980, in Bangor, daughter of Frank and Nancy (Briggs) Redman. She attended Dexter Regional High School, enjoyed basketball, softball, and little league. She worked at Misty Blue Acres horse farm for two years, did a lot of baby sitting and loved snowmobiling, especially with her grandfather.

She is survived by her mother, Nancy Redman of Dexter and Nancy’s fiancé, Frank Combs of Virginia; her father, Frank Redman and his wife, Cassie of California; a brother, Scott Redman of Florida; two sisters, Julie Forte of Florida and Molly Redman of Dexter; maternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Briggs of Dexter; a close friend, Wayne Smith of Dexter; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held at 1 PM Friday Feb. 9th at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter with Pastor Jeff Small officiating. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Maine, 211 Main St., Suite 200, Farmingdale, ME 04344.

MADONNA M. CRAY
HARMONY Madonna M. Cray, 90, wife of the late Harold A. Cray, died February 7, 2001 at a Skowhegan hospital. She was born August 20, 1910 at Washburn the daughter of Reed and Lenna (Fields) Mills. In her earlier years, she had attended the Charleston Pentecostal Church, and had more recently watched Souls Harbor on her television.

She is survived by 5 daughters, Beulah Johnson and Rachel Clark, both of Zephyrhills, FL, Letha Cray of Dexter, Connie and husband Bruce York, and Alice Walker, all of Harmony; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 1 son Herbert Mills, and a sister, Della Spooner.

Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Saturday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, February 11th, with the Rev. Ronald Libby officiating. Spring burial will be in Libby Cemetery, Harmony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Harmony Ambulance Service, Harmony, ME 04942.

HELEN MARGUERITE LITTLEFIELD
HARTLAND - Helen Marguerite Littlefield, 91, died February 6, 2001 at a Skowhegan hospital after a brief illness. She was born June 8, 1909 at Cambridge the oldest daughter of Ivan Warren Ham and Nora (Adams) Ham. She attended grammar school in Cambridge, graduated from N. H. Fay High School in Dexter, and received a lifetime teaching certificate from Farmington Normal School. She taught school in Athens, Harmony and Hartland for 21 years. She was a former member of the Rebekahs and Grange and held offices in both orders. She was a member of the Hartland Chapter # 189, Order of The Eastern Star, serving as organist for over 30 years. Helen was an active member of Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church and also belonged to the Outlook Club and Scott-Webb Hospital Auxiliary. In 1996 she received the outstanding citizenship award, and the field of education award in 1986. She had also served the town as a ballot clerk.

She is survived by her children, Edwin and wife Hazel, Elwin and wife Christie, Elmer and wife Beatrice, all of Hartland, Eleanor Lawrence of Athens, Ethelyn and husband Philip Bowman, Esther and husband Darrell Butler, all of St. Albans; sisters Hazel Bean Small of Vienna, and E. Arvene and husband Maynard Yakemore of W. Simsbury, CT; a sister-in-law, Arline Ham of Hartland; and a brother-in-law, Cliff Sprague of Hartland; 18 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Alton M. Littlefield, sisters Ruth Thomas and Rachel Sprague, and a brother E. Wesley Ham.

Her lifelong lesson to others was to willingly give unselfishly to family, friends and community. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Friday, February 9th, with Pastors Brenda Haskell and Norman Finnemore officiating. Spring burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Grace Linn Music Fund, c/o Mr. Harlow Powers, 403 Great Moose Drive, Hartland 04943; or to the church of one's choice. KENNETH W. FOLSOM
DEXTER & WINDHAM, NH - Kenneth W. Folsom, 90, a longtime resident of Dexter, husband of the late Reba (Libby) Folsom, who died November 15, 1993, died _February 9, 2001 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, NH. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. He was born September 10, 1910 at Cambridge, the son of James Bert and Florence Gusta (Downing) Folsom. He is listed in Vol. II, p. 757 of the "Genealogy of the Folsom Family".

As a young man he was struck by lightening while working in his father's workshop but suffered no lasting effects. He graduated from Harmony High School, Class of 1929 and attended Husson College in Bangor. He was a dairy farmer and carpenter living in Cambridge while raising his family. His home was consumed by a chimney fire in 1940 and another building on the property was moved to the original site. He was severely injured when staging gave way while barn raising on his father's property.

He was treasurer of Harmony Development Corporation and was a volunteer fire fighter for Cambridge and Harmony. Ken was a member of the Cambridge Grange for many years and was a 60 -year member of the Cambridge Masonic Lodge. In 1963 he sold the dairy farm and moved to Dexter where he worked as a fireman and handyman for Dexter Shoe Conpany. After retiring from Bud's Shop and Save he was asked to be handyman for the Dexter Boarding Home and did so for a time.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed many authors including Zane Grey, John Jakes, Don Colesmith, historical novels and non-fiction. He enjoyed local history and was always ready to share his knowledge. He followed the local basketball games with enthusiasm and enjoyed the town and county fairs. He didn't care to travel great distances but enjoyed going to Greenville in the fall when the seaplanes came in. He loved the Maine coastline and watching the large ships come in to port. He realized his dream enjoying a week aboard Mr. Salisbury's sailboat visiting islands Down East.

He shared his craft of woodworking with many neighbors and was very helpful to those in need. He enjoyed time spent at the camp in Hartland and the changing of the colors in the fall. He was an out-of-doors person and spent much time there.

He is survived by one son, Waynard and wife Joyce Folsom of Dexter and Pinellas Park, FL; a daughter, Florence and her husband Paul Gosbee of Windham, NH where he made his home since his stroke in the summer of 2000; 2 brothers, Herbert James Folsom Downing, adopted by his uncle, Herbert Downing of Dexter; Robert and his wife Beverly Folsom of Harmony; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great, great-granddaughters, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Reba Libby, brothers Thiron (infant), Marshall, and Harlan; also one grandson, Kenneth Folsom.

He will also be remembered by many dear friends.

There will be no visiting hours or funeral at this time. A spring graveside committal service will be held at Cambridge Memorial Garden, date to be announced later. Those who wish may contribute in his memory to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 346, Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

JOSEPHINE (MOOERS) LONDON
EXETER Josephine London, 87, died February 12, 2001 at a Dexter Healthcare Facility. She was born December 25, 1913 at Amity the daughter of Miles and Susan (Estabrook) Mooers. She was a member of Shirley B. Carter Post #4298 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She was predeceased by her husband, George London, her daughter Maxine Lancaster, 2 brothers, Guy and Herbert Mooers, and 4 sisters, Minnie Deag, Hattie Cox, Beatrice Lancaster, and Isabell Cox. She is survived by 3 daughters, Ralva and husband Ronald Orchard of Southport, Lilla Demmons of Exeter, and Sherrill Burdin of Garland; a step-son, Charles and wife Carrie London of Hartland; a brother Ralph Mooers of Exeter, and a sister, Susan Worster of Carroll; 17 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be remembered by one special grandson, Maynard Worster, Jr.

There will be no services at this time. Spring graveside committal services will be held at Crowell Cemetery, Exeter, with the Rev. John Palmer officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna.
