Bea Skilling
Beaulah "Bea" Ames Skilling, 74, of Gray, died November 24.

She was born in Kingfield, daughter of Hazen Ray and Hilda Vivian Wing Ames. She graduated from Flagstaff High School and Maine Eye and Ear Hospital School of Nursing.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, most recently to Hawaii, Florida and Canada, socializing with her nurse friends and family gatherings.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Skilling, of Gray; two sons, Terry Davis, of Scarborough, and Alan Davis, of Bradenton, FL; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Geri) Bandlow, of Springvale; two brothers, Richard Ames, of Hawaii, and Robert Ames, of Eustis; and one granddaughter.

Barry Bailey
Barry C. Bailey, 51, of Gray, died January 7 after a long illness.

He was born in Portland, a son of Walter and Barbara Greene Bailey. He attended schools in Bridgton, and graduated from Bridgton Academy.

Mr. Bailey served in the Army for six years, and later in the Air Force.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Portland.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jackie Bailey, of Gray; and two sons, James Scott, of Gray, and David Michael, of South Portland.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church; burial will be in the spring at Chase Cemetery, in Windham. Arrangements were by Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, Portland.

Chester R. Duhamel, 76
Chester R. Duhamel, 76, of Portland formerly of Gray, died at this residence unexpectedly Sunday, March 30, 2003.

He was born in Providence, RI, April 29, 1926, a son of Arthur and Dora Duhamel. He grew up in South Portland and graduated from South Portland High School in 1944.

He served in the Navy during World War II on an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific.

He was involved with the development of the Maine Turnpike, surveying the initial Turnpike from Augusta to Bangor.

From 1971-1983, Mr. Duhamel owned and operated Precon, Inc., a precast concrete plant at the Auburn Airport.

Most recently, he was employed by Harriman Associates as a Clerk of the Works for various projects. He was a member and past President of the Kiwanis Club of Gray.

Mr. Duhamel was married for 35 years to the former Virginia Moorhouse originally from Westerly, RI.

He is survived by sons, James R. Duhamel and his wife, Teresa, of Falmouth, Wayne A. Duhamel of New Gloucester, Mark R. Duhamel of Gray; a daughter, Susan J. Frye and her husband, James, of Raymond; and six grandchildren, Sadie, Travis, Jamie, Jolie, Chelsea and Jessie. His companion of 20 years, Sally Coolbroth, resides in Scarborough; a brother, Peter Duhamel of Providence, RI.

Burial will be in the Maine Veteran's Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements were by Wilson Funeral Home, Shaker Road, Gray.

Christina B. Douglass, 89
Christina B. Douglass, 89, of Chrismas Tree Lane, Raymond, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005 at Country Village Assisted Living in Casco where she had been a resident.

She was born in Portland the daughter of Charles and Angie (Strout) Cobb and attended the Pennell Institute in Gray.

She worked for many years at Camp Naomi in Raymond and the Burke Company in Portland. She belonged to the Women's Fireman Auxiliary of Raymond, the Riverside Grange of Raymond, the Order of the Eastern Star of New Gloucester and the Hilarious Club of Raymond Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member.

She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the family camp in Rockwood.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Durwood Douglas and her brother Harvey Cobb.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Payne and her husband Robert Sr. of Raymond; two grandchildren, Debbie Chute of Raynond and Robert Payne Jr. of Saco; four great-grandsons, Richie, Danny, Jereck and Robbie; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at Dolby Funeral Chapel in Windham.

Christopher Mitaly
Christopher Allen Mitaly, 31, of New Gloucester, a member of St. Gregorys Parish in Gray, died Tuesday at a Lewiston Hospital.

Mr. Mitaly was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 20, 1967, the son of John J. and Marie Bindrim Mitaly. He graduated from Franklin Regional High School and Northwoods Taxidermy School of Stoystown, PA, and he attended Unity College.

He was the owner of Mitaly Taxidermy, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing with his dogs and spending time with his children.

He is survived by his parents; his wife of nine years, Sandra Johnson Mitaly; a son, Christopher, and two daughters, Joleen and Jessica; a brother, John Mitaly, of Jeanette, PA; two sisters, Connie M. Price, of Murrysville, PA, and Mary Beth Mitaly, also of Murrysville. He was the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnson, of Belchertown, MA, and the brother-in-law of Ms. Donna Johnson, of Keene, NH.

Visitation was on Thursday, October 22, at Wilson Funeral Home, in Gray. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Friday, October 23, at St. Gregorys Parish, North Raymond Road, Gray. Committal will be in Lower Gloucester Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home.

Cindy S. Sullivan
Cindy S. Sullivan, 46, of New Gloucester died peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, October 4, 2003, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.

She attended Gray-New Gloucester High School. Cindy worked along side her husband at Performance Product Painting, Inc. Cindy enjoyed traveling, golfing, snowmobiling, boating, racing, camping and having barbecues with all her family and friends. She enjoyed watching all the children grow up.

In her two and half year battle with cancer she was supported by her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband of 24 years, David and daughter, Katie D'Auteuil and her husband Scott; son, Ryan Sullivan; and her dog, Bailey; her mother, Shirley Ann Nichols; father and step-mother, Jack and Mary Lou Robinson; sisters, Lindy Brooks and husband George, Danni Fitzgerald and husband Kevin, Dawn Robinson; and many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Bertha Mary Sullivan.

She was predeceased by her stepfather, Robert D. Nichols; father-in-law, Patrick Joseph Sullivan.

Arrangements were by Wilson Funeral Home in Gray. Rev. Douglas Hedstrom officiated.

Clara Morey, 80
Clara M. Morey, 80, died last Tuesday at a Lewiston nursing home. Born in New Bedford, MA, September 10, 1920, she was the daughter of Joseph and Amelia Banas Glowacki. She graduated from the Lady of Perpetual Help Parochial School in 1938.

Mrs. Morey was the 4-time President of the Gray Unit #86 American Legion Auxiliary, and was instrumental in the Memorial Day activities. She was very active with Saint Gregory's Parish, teaching CCD. She loved reading, animals and playing Beano.

Mrs. Morey is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Morey, of Gray, whom she married on October 6, 1945; one son, Daniel Morey of Gray; four daughters, Nancy Roderick, of Gray, Patricia Caron, of Sabbattus, Cynthia Lavertu, of Oxford, and Marcia Noyes of Cumberland; and twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday at St. Gregory's Parish, North Raymond Road, Gray. Monsignor Robert Lavoie was the Celebrant. Committal will be in Gray Village Cemetery in the Spring.

Arrangements were by Wilson Funeral Home, Gray.

Clarence Warren, 81, dies
Clarence John Warren, 81, of Gray, died February 17 at his home.

Mr. Warren was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, a son of John and Laura Barker Warren. He moved to Gray from Stoughton, Massachusetts.

He was a member of the Gray American Legion Post Number 86, and attended the First Congregational Church of Gray.

He is survived by Luella M. Boyd Warren, of Gray, his wife of 58 years; four sons, Charles, of Savannah, GA, Richard, of Halifax, MA, Michael, of Vermont, and Frank, of Sharon, MA; one daughter, Marilyn Orfino, of Honolulu, HI; a sister, Frances Drake, of Rhode Island; two brothers, Addison and Sherrill, both of Massachusetts; and nine grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held this Spring. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, of Gray.
