HARVEY E. BUBIER
DEXTER, Harvey E. Bubier, 65, died Oct. 18, 2001 at his home in Dexter. He was born October 11, 1936, son of Albert and Josephine (Perkins) Bubier. He served 22 years in the US Army during which time he served in the Korean Conflict and served three tours in Viet Nam, retiring in 1975.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Bethanie Bubier of Cornville and Sylvia Ramsdell of Canaan; three sons, Paul Bubier of Greenville, Pfc Harvey Bubier Jr. of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Jason Huntley of Skowhegan; 2 sisters, Esther McCullough of Corinth and Jean Bouryzewski of Wallingford, Conn.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the Maine Memorial Veteran's cemetery in Belgrade. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.

JOHN H. PRAY
SANGERVILLE, John H. Pray, 89, died Oct. 19, 2001 at his home in Sangerville. He was born July 29, 1912 in Amherst, Mass., son of Fry and Ella (Hall) Civell. He worked with heavy equipment and was a member of local union #98 in Springfield, Mass. In the late 1970s he retired and moved to Maine.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Reed) Pray of Sangerville; a son and his wife, John and Mary Rose Pray of Addison and a daughter and her husband, Betty Jean and Robert Skribiski of Hopkinton, Mass; 8 grandchildren,3 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 27, 2001 at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford, with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. Burial will be in the Town House cemetery in Sangerville.

ANGELA L. CORLISS
ABBOT, Angela L. Corliss, 58, died October 20, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital.

She was born February 12, 1943 in Boston, Mass. the daughter of Peter and Gena (Riggillo) Fitzpatrick.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday October 23 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Sangerville. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford.

WILFRED C. HERRING
ABBOTT, Wilfred C. Herring, 85, husband of Norma (Brown) Herring, son of Ora Leon and Winnifred (Cooley) Herring died October 22, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. Mr. Herring graduated from Foxcroft Academy, class of 1934, and attended Colby College. He coached football and basketball in Corinna and Skowhegan, Maine and in Southington, Connecticut. He was the Town Manager for the Town of Norridgewock for 14 years. He was a Director and Past President of the New Portland Lions Club and a member of the Skowhegan-Madison Elks. In Somerset County, he was the Past President, Director and a lifetime member of the Maine Municipal Association. He also served on the Advisory Board of the State Manpower Affairs, on the Department of Human Services Advisory Board and was a member of the Governor's Council.

Mr. Herring is survived by his wife of nine years, Norma of Abbot; two daughters, Susan Bogle of Palmyra and Diane Herring of Hermon; a son, Blair Herring of Montana; a brother, Durwood Herring of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Louise Chapman of Dixfield and Vergena Lee of Dover-Foxcroft. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Milton Herring, and a sister, Carlotta Pitt.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held for family and friends at the Maloon cemetery in St. Albans, Thursday October 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Monson United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 204, Monson, ME 04464. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.

LANFORD L. WARNER
DEXTER- Lanford L. Warner, 65, died October 23, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born March 6, 1936 at River Rouge, Michigan the son of Elmer and Rosena (Williams) Warner. He attended Bangor Theological Seminary and was afiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. He was an artist and former designer in New York City. Lanford owned Old Houses and Farms Real Estate in Dexter and will be remembered as a beloved grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Mnich) Warner of Dexter; a son and his wife Scott and Sarah of Lincoln; 3 brothers, Wayne of Bridgton, Randy of Denmark, and Norman of Bernardsville, NJ; a sister Frances Ann Kerr of Denmark; 2 grandsons, Samuel and Alexander, “the men”.

At his request, there will be no visitation. A graveside committal will be held 2 P.M. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.

JEFFREY A. BOONE
GUILFORD, Jeffrey A. Boone, 44, died October 24, 2001 in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born April 22, 1957 in Dover-Foxcroft, son of Roger and Melba (Kimball) Boone. He served in the US Army and later worked as a heavy equipment operator for Pleasant River Lumber in Dover-Foxcroft. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved life and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his mother and her husband, Melba and Robert Cote of Sangerville; his father and his wife Roger and Valerie Boone of Stetson; his wife, Terry (Hanson) Boone of Guilford; four children, Bert Boone of Guilford, Janice and her husband Shannon Mitchell of Florida, Christina Giles Marsh of Guilford and Amanda Giles of Sangerville; four grandchildren, Cameron Marsh, Sabrina Mitchell, Brittany Mitchell, and Bradley Marsh; a sister, Jessie Boone of Stetson.

Friends may call Sat 2-3 pm at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford, where funeral services will follow at 3 pm with the Rev. Adam Tierney officiating. Those who wish may make donations to the Liberty Fund c/o Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross, 33 Mildred Ave., Bangor, ME 04401, to assist the families hurt by the September 11th tragedy.

RUTH E. THOMPSON
MATTAWAMKEAG, EXETER & DEXTER Ruth E. Thompson, 85, died October 24, 2001 at a Lincoln hospital. She was born February 23, 1916 at Guilford the daughter of Alfred and Lizzie (Merrill) Wilson. She attended Guilford schools and was employed at Snowflake Canning Company in Corinna, the Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, and the Dexter Nursing Home, retiring in 1988.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond L. Thompson, a grandson Charles "Chuckie" Strout, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by 2 sons, Raymond Thompson and his wife Phyllis of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and her special son, Terry L. Thompson of Mattawamkeag; 2 daughters, Marlin Strout of Mattawamkeag, Carline and husband Millard Eaton of Exeter; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grand-daughter; several nieces and nephews.

At her request there will be no visiting hours. A graveside committal service will be held at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna, for the immediate family. The Rev. Edward Jaworski will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 346, Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, Exeter Road, Corinna.

DOROTHEA E. HUGHES
ST. ALBANS Dorothea E. Hughes, 92, a longtime resident of St. Albans, died October 26, 2001 at a Hartland nursing home. She was born July 15, 1909 at Dexter the daughter of Harry and Dellie (White) Giles. She was educated in Dexter and Corinna schools, and married Kenneth A. Hughes on September 21, 1929. He predeceased her on January 12, 1991. She was a member of the St. Albans Grange and had attended the First Baptist Church in Dexter, the Hartland Full Gospel Church, and the St. Albans Union Church.

She is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth and his wife Althea of Gakona, Alaska, Ronald and his wife Sally of St. Albans; 2 daughters, Roxene and husband Jean Caron of Westville, New Jersey, Bertha "Wendy" and husband Richard Luff of Sweet Springs, Missouri; a brother Floyd E. Giles, Sr. of Clinton; 13 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. Sunday at St. Albans Union Church, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Monday, October 29th, with Pastor Jamie Cahill officiating. Burial will be in Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Albans Union Church, P.O. Box 152, St. Albans 04971. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

THELMA W. ULMAN
SANGERVILLE, Thelma W. Ulman, 83, died November 2, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft Hospital. She was born November 1, 1918 in Abbot, daughter of Carrol and Madeline (Foster) Weymouth. She graduated from Abbot High School class of 1936. Thelma worked as a social worker for the Head Start Program in Sangerville for many years. She was a member of the Sunshine Club in Monson and the Extension.

She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar K. Ulman. She is survived by four sons, Oscar and his wife Patricia Ulman of Millinocket, William and his wife Esther Ulman of Florida, Carl Ulman of Hermon and Robert Ulman of New Hampshire; a daughter and her husband, Holly and Alan Melia of Monson, a brother William Weymouth of Florida; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am Tuesday November 6, 2001 at the Hillside cemetery in Monson with Pastor David Kelly officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.

ROBERTA H. "KAL" KALLGREN
GUILFORD AND NO. PROVIDENCE RI, Roberta H. "Kal" Kallgren, 93, of No. Providence, RI, died Saturday November 3, 2001 at a Providence Medical Center. She was born in Monson, ME, April 16, 1908, daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Moore) Zimmerman. She was the wife of the late Volney H. Kallgren. She had been a resident of Rhode Island since 1941. Mrs. Kallgren was a sales lady for the former Sheperd's Department Store in Providence for 25 years until it closed, and was then employed at the R.N. Koch Company in Providence, retiring in 1983.

She leaves two daughters, Gloria A. Dionne of N. Providence and Carolyn B. Lipe of Latham, NY; a brother, Myron Zimmerman of Monson; and a sister, Shirley Farquhar of Proctorsville, VT; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She was the sister of the late Louise Brown, Ruth Daisy, Alice Mitchell, Mabel Marshall, Anna Douglass, and Robert Zimmerman.

Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 pm at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at noon at the Lawn cemetery in Guilford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Association of Rhode Island, 2845 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886.

RAYMOND E. FARRAR
SANGERVILLE - Raymond E. Farrar, 79, husband of Crystal (Perkins) Farrar, died Nov. 11, 2001, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born in Dexter, Sept. 30, 1922, the son of Harold and Ruth (Call) Farrar.Raymond had attended Dexter schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked for several years for Charles Grant of Silvers Mills and had retired from Moosehead Manufacturing in 1990. He was a member of the South Sangerville Grange and the Sangerville American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, especially in P.E.I.

In addition to his wife, Crystal of 54 years, he is survived by two daughters, Diane White and friend, Ronald Raymond, Jeanne Dauphinee and friend, Mel Laweryson, all of Guilford; one son, Dale Farrar of Livermore Falls and a friend, Paul Chretien of Livermore Falls; two brothers, Roger and Galen Farrar of Dexter; two sisters, Helen Edgerly of Dexter, Ethelyn Langley of Presque Isle and Florida; eight grandchildren, Lorrie Pratt of Guilford, Randy Spack of Cambridge, Ricky Spack of Dexter, Kathy Northup of Dexter, Kristy Rioux of Husson, N.H., Kevin Dauphinee of Guilford, Ryan White of Waterville, Jason White of Sangerville, several great-grandchildren and great-great-stepgrandchildren.

Friends are invited to call 2-3 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to Community Health and Counseling Services, Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426

CLOTHILDE "CLO" (ALACCHI) WERDT
ORONO, Clothilde "Clo" (Alacchi) Werdt, 77, died November 6, 2001 at a Bangor Hospital. She was born June 18, 1924 in the Bronx, New York City, New York, daughter of Silas and Elsie (Schmidt) Alacchi.

She is survived by her husband John G. Werdt of Orono; a son and his wife, John and Gail Alagna of the state of Washington; a daughter and her husband, Anne and Tom Healy of Hampden; a sister, Elizabeth Silco of Fair Oaks, California; 5 grandchildren; 2 nieces, 2 nephews and many cousins.

Private services will be held at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Bangor. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

ORA CARLE
SANGERVILLE, Ora Carle, 87, died November 9, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 19, 1914, in Sangerville, son of Asa and Elsie (Burrill) Carle. He served in the US Army 514th Fighter Squadron in Europe during WWII. Ora farmed for many years, and also worked as a welder. He was a 65 year member of the South Sangerville Grange and was a member of the American Legion in Sangerville.

He was predeceased by his wife, Zoolah (Langston) Carle and a sister Mary Carle. He is survived by a son, James Carle of Orrington; a granddaughter and her husband, Jamie and Jayson Rennebu and a great grandson, Dakota Carle-Rennebu all of Clifton; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday November 14, 2001, at the Jackman Corner cemetery with Grover White officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.

CHARLES RAYMOND CLUKEY
ST. ALBANS Charles Raymond Clukey, 97, died November 10, 2001 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born July 27, 1904 at Winn the son of Charles and Margaret (Preston) Clukey. He spent his early years in Winn, moving to East Holden where he married Mabel (Keezer) Clukey May 26, 1938. He worked in the woods for many years as a teamster and scaler. Raymond was also a private chauffeur for a number of distinguished people, including Eleanor Roosevelt, while he worked for WABI during the 40's and 50's. He also worked as a security guard at Harvard University, but most of all, he was a teacher to his children. Charles and Mabel lived at Sunshine Village in Corinna before moving to Fair Haven Terrace in St. Albans.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years; 6 children, Dorothy Peters and her husband Glen, Maurice Clukey, Charles Clukey and his wife Karen, all of St. Albans, Philip Clukey and his wife Jeannette of Ripley, Kenneth Clukey of Caribou, and Barbara Fitzpatrick of Oregon; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

There will be no viewing. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, November 13th, at Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

HELEN M. STEWART
CORINNA Helen M. Stewart, 69, died November 11, 2001 at a Pittsfield health care facility. She was born July 16, 1932 at Dexter the daughter of Robert and Freda (Brown) Bennett. She attended Corinna schools and worked for a number of years in the payroll department at Dexter Shoe Company. She had retired as a secretary at Dexter Pentecostal Church due to ill health. Helen had been an active member of the church since 1973. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1996. She was also predeceased by 2 brothers, Ernest and Eugene.

She is survived by a brother and his wife, Wendell and Marion Bennett of Exeter; 3 sisters, Marion and husband Fred Cooley of Dexter, Louise and husband Jim Cooley of Exeter, Roberta Kelley and her good friend, David Brown of Corinna; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, November 14th, at the Dexter Pentecostal Church, with the Revs. Donald Maguire and Lyman Curtis, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the family lot, Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the Dexter Pentecostal Church, 38 Railroad Avenue, Dexter, ME 04930.
