LINWOOD C. HATFIELD
CORINNA & FITCHBURG, MASS. - Linwood C. Hatfield, 87, died February 23, 2002 at the Birchwood Care Center in Fitchburg, Mass. He was born May 29, 1914 at Hodgdon the son of Murdock and Clara (Hand) Hatfield. He graduated from Stetson High School, Class of 1931. He retired from the Retina Foundation in Townsend, Mass. and had previously been the manager at the Wirthmore Feed Store in Corinna, and had been active in the Lions Club.

He is survived by 3 sons, Wade of St. Cloud, Florida, Gary of Townsend, Mass., and Peter of Fitchburg, Mass.; a brother Maurice of Safety Harbor, Florida; a sister, Betty Worthen of Ellsworth; 4 grandchildren; and a sister in law, Martha Hatfield of Corinna and Spring Hill, Florida. He was predeceased by a brother Hubert and a sister Frances Hunter.

Graveside committal services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, May 18th, at Coboro Cemetery, Stetson. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, Corinna.

LAWRENCE E. HENRY
CORINNA - Lawrence Ernest Henry, entered the glories of heaven at age 88 on February 25, 2002. He was born July 9, 1913 at Machias the son of Alonzo and Florence (Chambers) Henry. "Midget" worked in a number of different area factories and was a woodsman of many years. He had accepted the Lord as his Saviour in the spring of 1960. Throughout the rest of his life he shared the Gospel with many people. He especially loved visiting folks in nursing homes and shut-ins. He was active for many years in the ministry at Dexter Healthcare Facility and served as a deacon at the Stetson Union Church.

He is waiting in heaven for his survivors, sons, Lawrence H. Henry, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Danielson, CT, Richard Henry of Florida, 3 daughters Mrs. Gerald (Dottie) Stillman of Palermo, Mrs. Russell (Judy) Lyon of Corinna, and Mrs. [Reverend] David (Mary) Ray, Sr. of Ripley; 23 grandchildren; many great grandchildren. Greeting him in heaven are his beloved wife, Estella (Huff), 6 children, Wayne, Robert, Roberta, Charles, Christopher, an unnamed infant, 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, including Kaylyn Grace Henningsen; and siblings, Adian, Buster, and Philip Henry, and sisters, Doris Huff and Delia Bubar.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Thursday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Friday March 1st, at the Stetson Union Church with the Rev. David Ray, Sr. officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stetson Union Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 5, Stetson, ME 04488.

ROSEMARY (KARAM) BALDACCI
BANGOR - Rosemary (Karam) Baldacci, wife of the late Robert E. Baldacci, died unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, in Bangor, at a local hospital. Her eight children and their families were with her when she died. She was born in Waterville and raised in Bangor by her loving parents, Rose and Elias Karam. She graduated from John Bapst High School. She worked for several years at the Bangor Daily News before she met her husband, Robert, to whom she was married for 43 years. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her eight children.

She is survived by Robert Jr., Peter and his wife, Debora, John and his wife, Karen, Gerard, Paul, Rosemary, Lisa, Joseph and his wife, Elizabeth; eight grandchildren, Bobby, Kate, Andrew, Jack, Paul, Elise, Caroline and Olivia. She is also survived by Caroline Nale, Elias Boles, John Boles and Hilda Cook, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also remembered is her special companion, her springer spaniel, "Murphy Brown." Robert and Rosemary founded Momma Baldacci's Restaurant in Bangor in 1975. They continued a restaurant tradition that began in 1933, with the world renown Baltimore Restaurant. That tradition continues to this day.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerard Gosselin, pastor, celebrant. Interment will be in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Rosemary in a special way may make contributions in her memory to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or to the Robert & Rosemary Baldacci Memorial Scholarship Fund, care of University of Maine Foundation, 80 Exchange St., P.O. Box 2220, Bangor 04402. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor.

ALICE H. CURRIER
GUILFORD - Alice H. Currier, 99, died February 26, 2002 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born April 27, 1902 in Parkman, daughter of Daniel and Elsa (Fisher) Smart. She worked for several years at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Clarence & Phyllis Currier of Dover-Foxcroft, and Gregory & Bernice Currier of Guilford; a daughter and her husband, Louella & Leon Easler Jr. of Parkman; a sister, Dorothea Melvin of Parkman; a sister-in-law, Grace Smart of Jonesport; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Currier; three sons, Francis, Harold and Daniel Currier, two sisters and a brother.

Friends may call from 6-8 pm Thursday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford.Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday at the funeral home with spring burial in the Cider Hill cemetery in Exeter.Those who wish may make donations to the Dexter Health Care Facility, 64 Park St., Dexter, Me 04930.

RICHARD D. "BUSTER" HARMON
MILO - Richard D. "Buster" Harmon, 49, died Feb. 26, 2002 at his residence. He was born July 16, 1952, in Milo, the son of Richard F. and Geraldine (Drinkwater) Harmon. Buster was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Reading and sailing were also favorite pastimes of his.

He is survived by his parents of Milo; a brother, Robert Harmon of Milo; three sisters, Diane Osgood and her husband, Tony, of Milo, Sherry Weston of Milo, and Linda Murray and friend, Terry Howard, of Tennessee; his maternal grandmother, Lois Palmer and her husband, Earl, of Orneville; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held later in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Milo.

THERESA C. LAVIGNE
ORONO and GREENVILLE - Theresa C. Lavigne, 74, died Feb. 26, 2002, at her home in Orono, after a long illness, with her family and friends at her side. She was born in Brassua, Jan. 28, 1928, the daughter of Antonio and Eugenie (Beaudoin) Goulet. Theresa lived most of her life in Greenville and was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and a dedicated homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Patrick Lavigne and his wife, Marsha of Brunswick, Michael Lavigne and his wife, Debra of Georgia; six daughters, Gladys Swett and her husband, Kenneth of Carmel, Priscilla Jewett and her husband, Paul of Northeast Harbor, Denise Gary and her husband, Jeff of Carmel, Cheryl Caron of Dover-Foxcroft, Caryl Baird and her husband, Bruce of Dover-Foxcroft, and Karen Lavigne of Bangor; one daughter-in-law, Janice Lavigne of Lily Bay; one brother, Danny Goulet and his wife, Gloria of Greenville; one sister, Muriel Audette of Gardiner; 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 16 nieces and nephews, 28 grandnieces and grandnephews. Special friends, Bertha Mahon, Dr. Lisa Buck; and neighbor, Diane. Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; son, Dennis; sister, Jacolyn Nadeau; brother, Phillip Goulet; and her parents. Special thanks to New Hope Hospice and EMMC Dialysis.

Friends may call at the Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Orono. Burial will be at Greenville Cemetery, in the spring.

CAMILLE DEROSIER, SR.
PLYMOUTH - Camille Derosier, Sr., 72, died February 26, 2002 at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 30, 1929 at St. Agatha the son of Denis and Irene (Chasse) Derosier, Sr. On July 29, 1948 he married the former Louise Bard. After 40 years of marriage she passed on to God September 26, 1988. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother J. Alfred. Camille was involved in construction, working for Bill and James Smith from 1950 to 1970. He worked for H. C. Haynes from 1970 until his retirement in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Pittsfield, and belonged to the Singles Club in Brewer.

He is survived by his children, Camille, Jr., his wife Nancy, and their children Justin and Sara; Joseph, his wife Denise, and their son Joseph, all of Palmyra; Elwin, his wife Africa, and their daughter Amy of Oceanside, CA; Camilla Andrews and her children Chad, Todd, and Corey of Dixmont; Alvin, his wife Katrina, and their children Brandon and Kimberly of Sarasota, FL; brothers J. Albert of Calhoun, GA, George of Augusta, Joseph of Pittsfield, Marc of Grand Isle, and Denis Jr. of East Hartford, CT; sisters Laura Willey of Palmyra, Florence McLeod and Patricia Raymond both of Plymouth, Marie Raymonde Ayotte of Bristol, CT, Germaine Caron of Coperas Cove, TX, and Linda Remecki of Forestville, CT; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Friday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Saturday, March 2nd, at St. Agnes Church, 50 Detroit Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Father Robert Bouchard officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Calvary Cemetery, Skowhegan. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the St. Agnes School, P. O. Box 369, Pittsfield, ME 04967.

AMBER B. ROCKWELL
CORINNA - Amber B. Rockwell, 81, died February 27, 2002 at a Bangor hospital. She was born February 1, 1921 at Corinth the daughter of Bernard and Fern (Everett) Bean. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed reading her Bible and sharing her faith with family and friends. On July 26, 1939 she married the Rev. George H. Rockwell and for their 36 years of marriage they ministered in local churches in word and song.

She is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Brenda and William Rohland of Alexandria, VA, and Betty and Thomas Floyd of Corinna; her special son, Everett S. Rockwell of Corinna; her cherished grandchildren, Timothy Floyd of Corinna, Kimberly and her husband, Jeffery Earnshaw of St. Leonard, MD, Bill Rohland of Alexandria, VA, Thomas Floyd, Jr. of Portland, and Travis Floyd of Fairfax, VA; her special great grandson, Jeffery Earnshaw; 4 sisters, Theda Cross of Bangor, Verna Hoyt and her husband, Merlyn of Aiken, SC, Ardith McGraw of Corinth and Patricia and her husband, the Rev. Ronald Parker of Hartland; 1 brother, Ronald and his wife, Margaret Bean of Corinth; brothers-in-law, Woodrow Cross of Bangor and Preston Johnson of Salisbury, MD; a sister-in-law, Victoria Bean of Garland; many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. George H. Rockwell; sisters, Nathalie Johnson and Janette Cross; a brother, Malcolm Bean; brothers-in-law, Howard McGraw and Leon Cross.

Friends may call 2 to 5 P.M. Saturday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, March 3rd at the Pleasant Street Christian Church, St. Albans Road, Corinna, with the Revs. Paul Floyd and Sean McGill officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Cambridge Baptist Church, P.O. Box 40, Cambridge, ME 04923.

CLARENCE P. LANDRY
Sioux City, SD - Clarence P. Landry, 76, formerly of Dexter, died January 17 at a convalescent home here following a long illness.

Mr. Landry was born in Dexter, son of Ben and Jeannette(Landry) Landry. He attended local schools and graduated from N.H.Fay High School.

He served in the U.S.Army in World War 11. After his dischargee, he was employed at the Veterans Adminstration Center in Togus until his retirement.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters.He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara.

A memorial service is scheduled at the Veterans Memorial cemetery in Augusta May 13.

ELEANOR C. PIKE
SANGERVILLE AND ABBOT - Eleanor C. Pike, 79, died March 1, 2002 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born February 19, 1923 in Sterling, Connecticut, daughter of Victor and Alice (Gardiner) Bessette. She worked for many years for Pride Manufacturing Company in Guilford and in recent years attended the Evangelical Free Church in Abbot.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Richard and Penny Pike of Abbot; 3 grandchildren, Suzanne and her husband Gary McEwen of Sangerville, Robert and his wife Kelli Zajechowski of Arkansas; Christopher Pike of Abbot; 3 great grandchildren, Erin-Jo and Jay R. Zajechowski of Arkansas and Eric McEwen of South Carolina. She will also be remembered by her extended family, Mark and Joan Frink of Abbot. She was predeceased by her husband William Pike and a daughter Betty Zajechowski Frink in 1995.

Graveside services will be held Saturday June 1st at 1 PM, at the Abbot Village Cemetery. Those who wish may make donations to the Abbot Evangelical Free Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 131, Abbot, ME 04406. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.

WAYNE G. HALEY
MILO - Wayne G. Haley, 68, husband of Sandra (Barker) Haley, died March 2, 2002, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born Dec. 14, 1933, in LaGrange, the son of LeRoy A. and Ellen (Decker) Haley. A U.S. Army veteran, he had served in Korea. Wayne had worked for the Milo Community Hospital, and with his wife, Sandra, had owned and operated the Milo Flower Shop for 32 years, and Haley's Bottled Gas for 15 years. He retired from the maintenance department of MSAD 41 where he had been employed as a bus driver. He was a member and past master of Piscataquis Masonic Lodge No. 44 AF & AM, a past patron of Aldworth Chapter No. 39 OES, a member of the Joseph P. Chaisson American Legion Post No. 41, a member of the Milo Fire Department and the Milo Police Department.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Milo; two sons, Thomas A. and his wife, Reta of Milo, Rodney and his wife, Eileen of Guilford; a daughter, Melanie and her husband, Barry Knowles of Milo; two brothers, Donald and his wife, Eleanor Haley of Wollaston, Mass., Frederic Haley of Orono; a sister-in-law, Edna Haley of Stratford, Conn.; eight grandchildren, Andrea and her husband, Jason, Amanda, Jennifer, Jessica, Megan, Haley, Katie and Wayne; a great-granddaughter, Jordyn, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Fay and Lillian; and two brothers, William and Allen. He will be missed by a special friend, Sam.

Friends are invited to call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with Masonic services said at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michelle St. Cyr officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish, may make memorial contributions to Mayo Regional Hospital, Diabetes Programs, 65 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft 04426.

JOHN E. CARLEY
LONDON, ENGLAND - John Edward Carley, 32, died March 3, 2002 at his work in London. He was born February 7, 1970 at Claremont, NH. He attended the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont and graduated from Faith School of Theology. John traveled extensively, especially throughout India, where he co-founded an orphanage between 1995 and 1996. At the time of his death he was a volunteer with the Simon Community in London, which assists the homeless in the greater London area.

He is survived by his parents, William "Bill" and Martha Carley, and his sister, Sara Carley, all of Charleston.

The burial and committal service will be announced after the family returns to Maine at the end of the month. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport.

CATHERINE M. CLUKEY
DEXTER – Catherine Matilda (Lessard) Clukey, 83, wife of Loren T. Clukey, died March 3, 2002 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital.She was born August 26, 1918 at Skowhegan the daughter of Joseph and Amanda (Turcotte) Lessard. She graduated from Skowhegan High School, Class of 1936, and had been a resident of Dexter since 1947. She had been employed as a secretary for Fayscott, Inc. for 25 years. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Parish. Kitty was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Normand,Raymond and Alcide Lessard, and a daughter, Liane.

She is survived by her husband of Dexter; a daughter and her husband, Judith and Edward McKay of Corinna; a special grandson, Keith Peavey of Corinna; and a sister, Elizabeth Bisson of Skowhegan.

There will be no visiting hours. A memorial mass will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, March 9th, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter with the Rev. Fr. Raymond Morency officiating. A spring committal service will be held at Mt. PleasantCemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Mayo Regional Hospital, 75 West Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft, ME04426. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter.

DELLA F. CUMMINGS
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Della F. Cummings, 95, wife of the late Frank D. Cummings, died March 3, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was born Dec. 1, 1906, in Barnard, the daughter of John and Nora (Blethen) Perham. Della was a school teacher in her early years, teaching all eight grades in a one room schoolhouse in Elliotsville. Moving to Dover-Foxcroft after living many years in Bowerbank, she worked at J.J. Newberry's, until her retirement. She was an active member in the Rebekah Lodge, holding many positions. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Dover-Foxcroft.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Smith of Bowerbank and Sylvia Tibbetts of Sangerville; two sons, Vaughn Cummings and his wife, Cathy of Corinth, Ronald Cummings and his wife, Jane of Colorado; two sisters, Alice Perham and Elizabeth Kenney, both of Dover-Foxcroft; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by many dear friends at Thayer Parkway.

Friends are invited to call 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Graveside committal services will be announced in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Tree Hospice, 65 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft 04426; or to the United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 62, Dover-Foxcroft 04426.
