Elizabeth Morrissey, 52

ANDOVER, Mass. - Elizabeth Morrissey, 52, died Nov. 13, 2001, at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, Mass.

She was born Feb. 13, 1949, in Brighton, Mass., the daughter of Mary and Thomas O'Leary of Ogunquit. She has been a longtime Andover resident. She was a mathematics teacher in the Andover schools for the past 15 years.

Surviving are her husband, Joe Morrissey; two sons, Brad and Christopher; one brother, Thomas of Simsbury, Conn.; three sisters, Marilyn Earle of Eagle, Colo., Mary O'Leary of Saugus, Mass., and Diane Barret of Andover, Mass.

Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Family Hospital Cancer Management Center, 70 East St., Methuen, MA 01844.

Eleanor Noyes, 90

KENNEBUNK - Eleanor B. Noyes, 90, a longtime antique dealer, died Dec. 6, 2001, at the Southridge Living Center in Biddeford after a long illness.

She was born in Brockton, Mass., on Nov. 4, 1911, a daughter of William and Clara (Luma) Bonney.

She graduated from Kennebunk High School at Park Street and attended Nursing School at the Trull Hospital in Biddeford.

She was a longtime antique dealer and ran the Bonney's Cabins and Campground in Kennebunk for many years.

She was a member of the South Congregational Church of Kennebunkport.

She enjoyed collecting antiques and was an avid golfer.

She was predeceased by her husband Bernard L. Noyes who died in 1995.

She is survived by her two sons, Howard Noyes and Bernard W. Noyes, both of Kennebunk; one foster son, Timothy Butler of Kennebunk; one daughter, Dorothy Whitter of Leesburg, Fla.; one foster daughter, Blessing DiMuzio of Kennebunk; one brother, Roland Bonney of Kennebunk; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three foster grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk.

Private Memorial Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. the chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kennebunk.

Arrangements by the Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.

Grace Willey, 92

YORK - Grace M. Willey, 92, passed away Dec. 6, 2001, at the Harbor Home in York, where she had resided for 10 years.

She was born in Wells, Oct. 17, 1909, daughter of Howard and Anne O. (Johnson) Cheney. She lived in North Berwick most of her life and graduated from North Berwick High School in 1930. In 1933 she married Eldred F. Willey. She worked for many years at the Woolen Mill in North Berwick and later worked for several nursing homes, lastly the Bonnie View Nursing Home in Eliot.

She had lived in the Margo Wanda Boarding Home in Berwick for many years before moving to the Harbor Home.

She enjoyed gardening and flowers and was a good cook.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1945.

She is survived by two nieces, Betty Foley and Shirley Coffron, both of Kennebunk; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A funeral was held Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, North Berwick.

Robert Owens III, 61

KENNEBUNK - Robert K. Owens III, 61, of the Old Falls Road, died Dec. 8, 2001, at Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a long illness.

He was born Sept. 25, 1940 in French Camp, Calif., the son of Robert and Vida (Lademere) Owens, and received his GED from Sanford public schools.

A U.S. Army Veteran, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He was employed by Moore Building Movers for 10 years before his illness forced him to retire.

He loved football, playing Yahtzee and watching television.

He was predeceased by his son, E. "Rusty" Owens, who died in 1997.

Survivors include his former wife, Brenda J. Owens of West Kennebunk; two sons, Robert K. Owens IV, and Leroy Owens; three daughters, Christina Owens and Heather Owens, both of West Kennebunk, and Tabitha Owens; and a granddaughter, Victoria Owens of West Kennebunk.

Visiting hours were held Wednesday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk, where a funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. with Rev. James King officiating.

Margaret Andersen, 74

KENNEBUNK - Margaret C. Andersen, 74, resident of Beach Avenue in Kennebunk, died Dec. 16, 2001 at her residence after a long illness.

She was born Jan. 29, 1927 in Worcester, Mass., a daughter of Robert J. and Mary Bell (Currie) Carson. She graduated from Concord High School in Concord, Mass., with the class of 1944 and attended a Boston music school.

She was employed for several years as an administrative secretary at Middlesex Mutual Insurance Company of Concord, Mass.

She had a strong interest in music especially classical, traditional church hymns and jazz music and was an accomplished pianist. She also enjoyed playing golf and tennis and was a member of Dutch Elm Country Club of Arundel.

She was predeceased by one son, Kent J. Andersen who died in 1956 and a brother Charles Carson.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Andersen of Kennebunk; one son, Keith J. Andersen of Kennebunk; one daughter, Jean Bailey of Portland, Ore.; and four grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at Wednesday, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Kennebunk, with the Rev. Richard Horner officiating. An Interment service was held Wednesday in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord, Mass. Arrangements are by Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Hospice Program at Southern Maine Health and Homecare, Route 1, Kennebunk, ME 04043, in Mrs. Andersen's memory.

Earle Boothby, 93

SACO - Earle F. Boothby, 93, of Buxton Road, died Dec. 9, 2001, at Evergreen Manor.

He was born in Saco Nov. 7, 1908, the son of Oliver F. and Maude (Webb) Boothby, attended schools there and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1929. He also graduated from Gorham Normal School, where he studied carpentry.

He worked at Pepperell Manufacturing Company and Saco Lowell Shops. He was employed at Cole Farm Dairy in the maintenance department for more than 30 years, retiring in the late 1970s.

He loved working in the woods and swimming in the pond in his backyard.

He was a member of the United Baptist Church in Saco, where he was deacon for many years. He also attended the Bible Baptist Church and the North Saco Congressional Church.

His wife, June (Field) Boothby, died in 1982, and two sisters, Gladys Fogg and Alice Libby, also died previously.

Survivors include two sons, David E. of Saco and Robert F. of West Kennebunk; a daughter, Priscilla Pennell of Saco; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Alvan Googins, 98

KENNEBUNK - Alvan Percival Googins 98, a resident of Maquire Road, formerly of Summer Street, Kennebunk and Gorham, N.H., died Dec. 12, 2001, after brief illness.

He was born in Casco, Maine on July 22, 1903, the eldest of two sons of the late Percy Freeman and Helen Gertrude (Nichols) Googins.

His early childhood was spent in Casco, West Deering and Falmouth, Maine. The family moved to Kennebunk in 1913. He graduated as salutatorian of the class of 1921 from Kennebunk High School. Upon graduation from Gray's Business in Portland, he accepted a position with the Brown Paper Company.

He was a lifelong member of the Advent Christian Church at Kennebunk Lower Village (now at Sea Road) served as superintendent of the Sunday School, church representative to denominational conference and a member of the Minutemen Quartet. This group performed at many church functions and broadcasts from radio station WHEB in Portsmouth, N.H.

In 1941, his employer moved its main office to Berlin, N.H. and his family took up residence in Milan, where he became active in the Methodist Church. Several years later they moved to Gorham, N.H. and resided there for 45 years. As a member of Gorham Methodist Church, he served as Sunday school teacher, choir director and soloist. He was a longtime member of Gideons International and worked to fulfill the organization's mission by placing many Bibles in hotels and prisons.

An avid gardener, he raised and sold gladiolas from his home, as well as shared the bounty of his large vegetable gardens with friends and neighbors.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes, tennis and excelled at croquet.

He was predeceased by his first wife Evelyn (Atkins) Googins, and his second wife of 63 years Phoebe (Boothby) Googins, two sons Merton and David Googins, and a brother Danforth Googins.

He is survived by one son, Jonathan and his wife Trudi of Barrington, N.H.; one daughter, Constance Waterman and her husband, Alan, of South Hamilton, Mass.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private. Arrangements by the Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kennebunk Christian Academy, Sea Road Kennebunk, Maine 04043.

Wesley Hasty, 78

SOUTH BERWICK - Wesley Y. Hasty, 78, of Emery's Bridge Road, South Berwick, passed away quietly Dec. 16, 2001, at the family farm.

He was born June 21, 1923, in York, son of Clarence M. and Ethel (Young) Hasty. He graduated from Berwick Academy in South Berwick.

He served in the United States Army for two years during World War II, European Theatre, serving in the infantry regiment.

He had been a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows in South Berwick where he had recently received his 50 year pin. He was also an active member of the South Berwick-Wells Christian Church.

He had been an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and working on the family farm. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Emily (Thurrell) Hasty; four sons, Wayne and wife, Beverly, Thomas and wife, Betsey, Dwight and wife, Andrea and Bruce and wife, Laura, all of South Berwick; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Zana Littlefield of Ogunquit, Carolyn Bragdon of Wells and Helen Perreault of Arlington, Va.

A funeral was held Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick. Pastor Charles Jepson officiated. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick.

Albert Kotze, 95

KENNEBUNK - Albert Kotze, 95, a resident of Southridge Living Center and formerly of Huntington Common, Kennebunk and Oakdale, N.Y., died Dec. 15, 2001, at his residence after a long illness.

He was born April 28, 1906 in Merrick, N.Y., a son of Paul and Anna Kotze.

A longtime employee of Grumman Aircraft, he was employed for 30 years, retiring as an engraver. He took pride in having worked on the cockpit of the first moon landing craft for the space program.

He was an avid bowler, and for five years served as president of the Sayville, N.Y. Senior Citizens Center.

He is predeceased by his wife, Caroline Rehm Kotze, who died Nov. 12, 1994, and a daughter Dorothy Broring, who died Aug. 29, 2001.

Survivors include three sons, Albert Kotze of Portsmouth, R.I., Ronald Kotze of Oakdale, N.Y., and Kenneth Kotze of Oak Hill, N.Y.; one daughter, Carolyn Van Deinse of Kennebunk; one brother, Paul Kotze; two sisters, Lillian and Elwinda; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk, with Pastor Richard Horner officiating.

Arrangements by Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, ME 04043.

Brooks Levesque, 22

LYMAN - Brooks E.H. Levesque, 22, of Route 111, died Dec. 10, 2001, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Sanford on Oct. 9, 1979, a son of Thomas J. Sr. and Madeline (Garnett) Levesque.

He was employed at Wal-Mart in Sanford.

He enjoyed four-wheeling, camping, fishing, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his mother of Virginia; his father and stepmother Carol, of Springvale; three brothers, Thomas J. Jr. of Lyman, Dennis E. of Shapleigh and Michael A. of Springvale; two sisters, Lori Thurston of Kennebunk and Samantha D. Day of Lyman; his maternal grandmother, Pearl E. Garnett of Westbrook; seven nieces and four nephews.
