Daisy Dwyer, 92

KENNEBUNK - Daisy O. (Root) Dwyer, 92, resident of Kennebunk, died Aug. 23, 2001 in Biddeford.

She was born Aug. 10, 1909 in New Hartford, Conn., a daughter of Edward R. and Grace (Baker) Root.

She had lived in Newington, Conn. before moving to Kennebunk in 1972.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert B. Dwyer, and a son Roland R. Dwyer.

She is survived by one grandson, David F. Dwyer; his mother Suzanne Dwyer; and a great-grandson, Zachary Devon Stickland Dwyer, all of Florida; several nieces; one nephew; grandnieces; grandnephews; and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

A graveside service and burial will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Conn., at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.

Walter Fullerton, 67

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Walter O. Fullerton, 67, died Aug. 14, 2001 in a local hospital.

Born in Bath, Maine, a son of Cecil L. Fullerton Sr. and Florence M. (Webster) Fullerton, he graduated from Morse High School in 1951. He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955, and graduated from the University of Maine in 1959.

He was a Phi Beta Kappa, a Fulbright Scholar, and a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He was a marketing executive for Eastman Kodak Co. until his retirement in 1989.

He was a golfer and an accomplished musician. He was a past member of the Morse High School, Bath Municipal and University of Maine bands. He played several musical instruments and was able to write and arrange jazz, folk and ragtime music. From 1966 until this spring, he played with Rochester's Dixieland group, the Smugtown Stompers.

Surviving are one son, Jeffrey of Boston; one daughter, Dr. Lynne Fullerton of Albuquerque, N.Y.; his wife, Patricia; two brothers, Harry (Celia) of Topsham and Joseph (Cynthia) of Standish; two sisters, Eleanor (Eugene) Bowker of Kittery and Florence Soley of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a granddaughter.

Services will be private. Arrangements are by Scott Funeral Home, Webster, N.Y.

Else Hillers

YORK - Else Hillers, of York, Maine, formerly of White Plains, N.Y. and North Reading, Mass., died Aug. 24, 2001, at Harbor Home Nursing Home, York.

Else (Niehaus) Hillers, daughter of Wilhelm Niehaus and Else Blumenberg, was born on Feb. 23, 1905 in Hildesheim, Germany. She first came to this country when she was 18 years old. She returned to Germany two years later where she met and married Charles Hillers, to whom she was married until his

death in 1966. They returned to this country in 1926 and set about making a life for themselves. She worked for many years as a governess and then in later years as a bookkeeper at the Scarsdale National Bank in Scarsdale, N.Y. and then at the Essex Broadway Savings Bank in Lawrence, Mass.

Her greatest love was that of her family and she gloried in the birth of each grandchild and great-grandchild. She was an avid baker, especially of

Christmas cookies and would start each year the day after Thanksgiving and bake as many as 20 different varieties before the holiday arrived.

She will be greatly missed by daughter Margaret Rasche and husband Robert of Wells; grandchildren Robert Rasche, Robin Barnard and husband Kevin,

Kathryn Andrews and husband Eric, all of Wells, Stephen Rasche and wife Victoria of York; and great- grandchildren Anna, Katherine, Samuel and Thomas Rasche, Madeline, Elizabeth and Gary Andrews and Timothy Barnard.

Funeral service will take place, Friday, at 1 p.m. at the Union Congregational Church, North Reading, Mass. with the Rev. Richard Hughes officiating. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery in North Reading at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Union Congregational Church Memorial Fund.

Robert Nadeau, 70

BIDDEFORD - Robert G. Nadeau, 70, of Pike Street, died Aug. 26, 2001 at Southern Maine Medical Center.

He was born here, a son of Adonias and Emelia (Gauvin) Nadeau, and attended St. Louis High School. He worked for Frank Gallos Chevrolet for 30 years as a parts manager and assistant service manager, retiring in 1990.

He was a communicant of St. Andre's Church.

He was a hunter who also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and repairing automobiles as well as spending time with his dog, Scruffy.

Surviving are three sons, Daniel of Kennebunk and Gerard Nadeau and Raymond Nadeau, both of Biddeford; one daughter, Linda Nadeau of Shapleigh; two brothers, Roger Nadeau of Biddeford and Normand Nadeau of Windsor, Conn.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial wake was held Tuesday at Cote Funeral Home, Saco. Graveside services were held Wednesday in St. Joseph Cemetery.j

Mary Sullivan, 74

WELLS - Mary T. "Skip" Sullivan, 74, a resident of Edgewood Drive, formerly of New Bedford, Mass., died Aug. 21, 2001 at the York Hospital after a long illness.

She was born on July 9, 1927 in New Bedford, Mass., a daughter of Harold A. and Mary L. (Dwyer) Sullivan.

She attended Bridgewater State College and graduated from Westfield State College and received a master's degree in education from the University of Colorado.

She began her teaching career at the Burnside Elementary School in East Hartford, Conn. from 1949 to 1951. She also taught for five years at the Rogers & Oxford schools in Fairhaven, Mass. She was employed as a guidance counselor at the Poole and Middle Schools in Dartmouth, Mass. for 31 years retiring in 1987. She was honored nationally as an outstanding educator in 1974.

She was a lifetime resident of New Bedford, Mass., prior to moving to Wells in 1994, where she had summered for many years.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church of Wells and was active with the ladies sodality and volunteered on the church's community food pantry. She was also an avid Red Sox Fan.

She is survived by her brother Peter M. and his wife Nancy Sullivan of New Bedford, Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday in St. Mary's Church, Eldredge Road, Wells, with Rev. Joseph Ford officiating. A graveside committal service was held Saturday in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Street, New Bedford, Mass. Arrangements are by Bibber Memorial Chapel

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Wells Food Pantry, c/o of St. Mary's Church, Eldredge Road, Wells, ME 04090 or to the St. Francis of Assisi Food Pantry, Mill Street, New Bedford, MA 02740, in Ms. Sullivan's memory.

Jaime Latorre, 23

SANFORD - Jaime A. Latorre, 23, resident of Twombly Road in Sanford, died unexpectedly on July 29, 2001 in Kennebunk.

He was born April 19, 1978 in Bogota, Colombia, a son of Jaime Alfonso and S. Catalina (Lopez) Latorre. He graduated from Sanford High School with the class of 1996, where he played on the soccer team and was presently attending the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

He was previously employed as a teller at Fleet Bank of Sanford and was presently employed at AutoEurope International Rental Car of Portland.

He attended the Portland Faith Center Church of Gorham .

He was a member of the Airline & Pilots Association (AOPA) and was a member of the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity.

He enjoyed flying and was certified for single engine planes (BFR), instrument reading (IFR), and had his single and multi engine commercial license rating. His career goal was to be a commercial airline pilot.

He is survived by his mother, S. Catalina Fajardo of Sanford; his father of Bogota, Colombia;l one brother, Alejandro Latorre of Sanford; maternal grandparents, Jaime and Edna Fajardo of San Fernando, Calif.; and paternal grandmother Beatriz Latorre of Bogota, Colombia.

A funeral service was held Friday, at the Portland Faith Center Church, Gorham, with Pastor Brian Undlin officiating. Interment followed in Oakdale Cemetery, Sanford. Arrangements are by Bibber Memorial Chapel, Wells.

Lucille Lindley

A memorial service for Lucille "Lucky" Lindley of Kennebunkport, who passed April 24, 2001, will be held Monday, Aug. 13 at St. Ann's Church on Ocean Ave. in Kennebunkport at 11 a.m.

Ione Adjutant, 83

BIDDEFORD - Ione Ruby Adjutant, 83, of Old Town Road, died Aug. 4, 2001, at Southern Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Biddeford on March 9, 1918, the daughter of Ralph and Virginia (Carpenter) Campbell, and graduated from Kennebunk schools.

She was a homemaker and a Biddeford resident for most of her life.

She enjoyed birds, reading, crocheting, knitting and gardening.

Her husband of 40 years, Norman adjutant, died in 1978.

Survivors include one son, David of Saco; five daughters, Carol Berube of Dedham, Mass., Jacqueline of Kennebunkport, Gail Yankura of Saco, Diane Labbe of Sanford and Jean Marcotte of Biddeford; one brother, Theodore Campbell of Kennebunkport; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Maurice Boivin, M.D., 68

WELLS - Maurice J. Boivin, M.D., 68, of Eldridge Road and also of Belleville, Ill., died Aug. 2, 2001 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He was born in Sanford, a son of Aurelien and Rosanna (Richer) Boivin. He graduated from Sanford High School, St. Anselm College, and McGill University School of Medicine.

He interned at St. Joseph's Hospital in Wichita, Kan., and completed his anesthesiology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Holyoke, Mass.

For the past 25 years, he was a staff member at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.

He was a member of St. Teresa Church in Belleville and St. Mary's Church in Wells.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Anne Rourke; one son, Chris, of Belleville; one daughter, Kathy of Charlestown, Mass.; two brothers, Aurele Boivin of Sanford and Dr. Robert Boivin of Belleville; one sister, Lucille Kelley of Old Saybrook, Conn.; four nephews; five nieces; and 12 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Marianne Collins, 96

WELLS - Marianne Collins, 96, a resident of Shady Lane, Drakes Island Wells, Maine, formerly of Seminole, Fla., Aug. 3, 2001 at the Kennebunk Nursing and Rehab. Center in Kennebunk after a long illness.

She was born in Newfoundland, a daughter of the late Rev Edwin and Annie (Angel) Moore.

She was a former nursery school and remedial reading teacher, having studied at Columbia University. She did most of her teaching in the Seminole area in Florida, where she lived most of her adult life.

She loved to garden and paint. She loved her church and outreach missionary work.

She was predeceased by her husband, Zed Collins, who died in 1990.

She is survived by her four sisters Edith Sautter and Helen Nesky, both of Drakes Island Wells, Judy Sicard of Birmingham, England and Mildred Fearn of St. Johns, Newfoundland; many nieces and nephews; and many great-grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, Wells. Interment was in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells. Arrangements by the Bibber Memorial Chapel, Wells.

Gary Hartford, 52

ROCHESTER, N.H. - Gary Allan Hartford, 52, of 105 Whitehouse Road in Rochester, died Aug. 3, 2001 at the Goodall Hospital.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1949, the son of Henry and Arlene (Eaton) Hartford.

He was a self-employed handy man making mechanics one of his favorite hobbies.

Survivors include one son, Gary Jr. of Raymond, N.H.; two daughters, Heather St. Amand and Vivian St. Amand, both of Sanford; four brothers, Arnold Hartford of Somersworth, Robert Hartford, Winfield Hartford and Edward Hartford of Rochester; two sisters, Myrtle Gaudreault and Sandra Haskins of Dover.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Dot Hartford and Arlene Hartford.

Family and friends are invited to call tonight at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Avenue, Dover, N.H., from 7 to 9.

Following cremation, burial will take place in the family cemetery in Deerfield at the family's convenience.

Samuel Jordan, 74

PHIPPSBURG - Samuel Jordan, 74, died Aug. 5, 2001.

He was born in Kittery a son of Samuel M. Sr. and Phena B. (Cutting) Jordan.

In 1949, he married Anne Louise Daes. They lived in Kittery for many years.

He managed Warren's Lobster House in Kittery for more than 30 years, then managed Captain Newick's Restaurant in South Portland for another 17. Even after he retired, he worked summers at Sebasco Estates.

He loved the sea. He served in the Navy during World War II, and was a lobsterman for some years.

For the past 10 years or so, he and his wife wintered in Florida and spent their summers in Phippsburg.

He was a member of Bath's American Legion Post, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in South Portland and the Portland Eagles Club.

He was a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center in Bath and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program with the Bath Police Department.

His wife of 49 years, Anne, died in 1998.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jeffery (Sally) Hill of Phippsburg; three sons, Dean of Kittery, Gary of Scarborough, and Robert of South Portland; and seven grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be from 8 to 9 p.m. Thursday at David E. Desmond Funeral Home, 618 High St., Bath.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bath Congregational Church, UCC, 150 Congress Avenue, with the Rev. Bill Bliss officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath.
