Nicholas Angelo, 87

YORK - Nicholas Angelo, 87, formerly of Medford, Mass., died March 12, 2002 in Maine.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II and the Berlin crisis.

He was employed with McAdams Dairy and H.P. Hood and Stone and Webster.

He was redeceased by Marjorie Ella (Black) Angelo, who died March 9, 2002.

He was father to Nicholas Angelo II and Rosalee Monroe; brother of Edna Gallant and Rose Polsie; he had nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Prayers were said Friday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, Wells with a joint committal service in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 52 Federal St., Brunswick, ME 04011 or to the York Ambulance Association, PO Box 238, York, ME 03909.

Walter Folker Jr., 77

TAMPA, Fla. - Walter Joseph Folker Jr., 77, died March 14, 2002 in Tampa, Florida.

He and his wife had been residents of Kennebunk until 1984 when they retired to Sun City Center, Fla.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Grace; three daughters, Valerie Zempter, Joan Folker and Emily Snapp; four sons, Frank, Joseph, Thomas and Daniel; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial Mass was held March 21 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Interment at Bushnell Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sun City Center Emergency Squad, Roy Watson Road, Sun City Center, FL 33573.

Rosamond Hansen

KENNEBUNK - Rosamond B. Hansen of Huntington Common, Kennebunk, died March 16, 2002 after a brief illness.

She was born July 27, 1915 in Jersey City, N.J. to Rosamond and Dr. Harold Brown, and grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey. She earned her B.A. in English from Connecticut College in 1937, then entered the Yale University School of Nursing, earning her Masters of Nursing in 1945. On a vacation in Pemaquid, Maine she met Edwin Russell Hansen, and they were married in 1946.

Her life was spent helping others achieve their goals and dreams. For many years she taught Medical/Surgical and Pediatric Nursing to student nurses, while helping to support her husband as he earned his Ph.D and built his career as a university professor. At the same time, she was raising their growing family of three sons, and in 1963 they moved to South Portland, Maine, where for a time she was the head of Child Health Nursing at Maine Medical Center, then taught Freshman English at the University of Southern Maine.

After retirement, she continued her life of service, becoming very active in her church, with organizations like the Red Cross and Al-Anon, and as a nurse at her children's summer camp. Even in her 80s, she contributed to retirement community newsletters, and would read to the visually impaired.

She is survived by her three sons, David of Brooklyn, N.Y., Tom of Kennebunk and Larry of East Hartford, Conn.; and by her grandchildren Justin, Rachel, Cole and Lia.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Messiah Christian Church, Route 1, Wells.

Emil Schott, 100

LEWISTON - Emil Henry Schott, 100, died March 18, 2002 at his home, where he had lived for the past 71 years.

He was born on the family farm at 3 Strawberry Ave. in Lewiston on Feb. 14, 1902, a son of John Henry and Anna (Hilse) Schott.

He attended Lewiston Public schools through the ninth grade.

At the age of 14, he went to Bliss Business College, also in Lewiston.

Two years later he began his 84-year career at Hahnel Bros. Company.

At age 17, he bought his first motorcycle, a little Cleveland, for $265, which led to his long association with motorcycles and the founding of Schott Motorcycle Supply, a Harley-Davidson dealership.

He once said the magic of making it in the motorcycle business was "a lot of hard work; tend to business; don't cheat anybody; and be honest so they'll trust you and come back."

His many interests included gardening, his apple orchard, his camp in Casco, photography, hunting, the Lewiston Rotary Club, dancing, and especially the adventure of travel throughout the world.

His favorite was his annual trip to Munich, Germany, Kitzbuhel, and Austria during the time of Fasching.

He once was asked if he had three wishes, what would he wish for that could be printed and he laughed and he said, "1. Stay healthy, the nicest thing to have; 2. have good friends and; 3. be loved."

He was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his six children, Nancy Plaisted and Lida Zahares, both of Kennebunk, Joan Wiebe and her husband, Marshall of Readfield, John Schott and his wife, Patricia of Greene, Susan Huckaby of Otisfield, and George Schott of Greene; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Carolyn Abbott of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Nellie Maxim; his second wife, Catherine Lang, and his eldest son, Emil H. Schott Jr.

A funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 757 Summer St., Auburn, today at 2 p.m. Burial will be later in the spring at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 1 p.m. until service time. A celebration of life will continue following the services at the Lost Valley Ski Resort in Auburn from 3 to 5 p.m.

Dorothy Krebs, 88

YORK - Dorothy A. Krebs, 88, a resident of Sentry Hill at York Harbor in York formerly of Wells, died March 14, 2002 at the York Hospital in York after a brief illness.

She was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on Feb. 1, 1914, a daughter of Joseph and Edith (Baker) Carney and attended schools there.

She was a homemaker for most of her life.

She was predeceased by her husband Royal G. Krebs who died in 1985.

She is survived by her three sisters Rita Miller of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Jerry Matson of Roseville, Calif. and Mary Ann Seaman of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Monday at the St. Peter's cemetery in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Should friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Wells Emergency Medical Services, PO Box 1568, Wells, ME 04090, in Mrs. Krebs' memory.

Pauline Ramsdell, 63

YORK - Pauline Ruth Ramsdell, 63, of Nonantum Trail, died March 18, 2002 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born April 25, 1938 in Rochester, N.H., daughter of Frank E. and Rose (Patanude) Glidden.

She worked side by side with her husband, Earl, establishing the Earl Ramsdell Stone and Gravel Company in York. She was a hard worker and oftentimes was seen in one truck with her young sons, while Earl was loading gravel into another truck.

She enjoyed knitting and doing crafts. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Kittery Rotary Club.

She was predeceased by her husband, Earl E. Ramsdell who died June 14, 1995 and by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, David E. Ramsdell of Cape Neddick and Ronald and Linda Ramsdell of Cape Neddick; two brothers, Roland Glidden of El Paso, Texas and George Glidden of Farmington, N.H.; two sisters, Joyce King of Rochester, N.H. and Jean Gains of Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister-in-law, Linda Stabrow of Cape Neddick; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her mixed breed collie and black Labrador dog, Jimmy.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lucas and Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York. Interment in First Parish Cemetery, York. Visiting hours are 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, NE Division Inc., 1 Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.

Gail Shuffleburg, 61

HOLLIS - Gail Pauline Shuffleburg, 61, of Cape Road in Hollis, died March 13, 2002 at the Maine Medical Center.

She was born on April 11, 1940 in Saco, the daughter of Hector and Juliette Rocray. She attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton High School in 1958.

She loved being with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, traveling, bowling and her computer.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Shuffleburg; three sons, Jayson Shuffleburg of Biddeford, Mark Shuffleburg of Kennebunk and Donald Shuffleburg of Hollis; one step-son, Herman Perkins of Arundel; one daughter, Kathi Whitehouse of Hollis; two sisters, Janice Hood of Dayton and Linda Cyr of Kennebunk; one aunt, Pauline Dumont of Saco; and 11 grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Biddeford. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Eugene Mauzerall, 70

KENNEBUNK - Eugene Mauzerall, 70, died Feb. 27, 2002 at Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Sanford on March 31, 1931.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Elisabeth (Mannel) Mauzerall; three children, Katherine, Peter, and Bill Mauzerall; two brothers, David Mauzerall of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. and Lawrence Mauzerall of Boise, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass was said at St. Martha Church in Kennebunk March 4.

Leander Crepeau, 71

BIDDEFORD - Leander "Lee" Crepeau, 71, of Libby Drive and Satellite Beach, Fla., died Feb. 23, 2002, at his home in Florida.

He was born in Westfield, Vt., on Dec. 16, 1930, a son of Albert and Rosa (Brouillard) Crepeau.

On Oct. 21, 1950, he married Jacqueline St. Louis at St. Joseph's Church.

He and his wife owned and operated Maine Dry Cleaners, the USA Inn in Wells and numerous apartments including Academy Place in Saco. They retired from active management in 1983 and had wintered in Brevard County since 1986.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, B&S Elks Lodge and the Old Orchard Beach Country Club. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, boating, golfing and especially spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Maurice and Walter, and a sister, Simonne, died previously.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years; three daughters, Diane Vose, Susan (Mrs. Gerard) Goulet and Judy (Mrs. Francis) Gregoire, all of Biddeford; one son, Kenneth of Biddeford; two brothers, Wilfred and Roger, both of Saco; four sisters, Jeannette Beaulieu of Portland, Rose Belanger of Ashville, N.C., Lucille Shane of South Portland and Madeleine Shafer of Destin, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial took place Friday at St. Andre's Church in Biddeford with the Rev. Renald Labarre officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements were by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford.

Donations in Mr. Crepeau's memory may be made to the St. Joseph's Restoration Campaign, PO Box 408, Biddeford, ME 04005.

Jeannette Dupuis, 84

ARUNDEL - Jeannette P. Dupuis, 84, of Thompson Road, died Feb. 26, 2002, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

She was born in Biddeford on July 25, 1918, a daughter of John B. and Della Letendre, and attended school there.

For the past several years she did domestic work locally. She was previously employed by the Saco Lowell Shops and Pepperell Mfg. of Biddeford.

She was an avid beano player and a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.

A sister, Dorilda Petit, and two brothers, John B. Petit Jr. and Alberic Petit, died previously.

Survivors include her husband, Albert G. Dupuis; one son, Roger Plante of Saco; one sister, Beatrice Petit Lester of Biddeford; one granddaughter, Michelle Lessard; one grandson, Dale Plante; three great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.

Janet Harrington, 77

BIDDEFORD - Janet Harrington, 77, of Center Street, died Feb. 25, 2002 at Southridge Living Center.

She was born Oct. 28, 1924 in Addison, a daughter of Winston and Louise (Crowley) Norton, and was educated in schools there.

She was employed at Southridge Living Center for 20 years, retiring in 1990.

She enjoyed following the Red Sox, country music, reading, embroidery and fishing while living in Addison.

A son, George Jr. died in 1992.

Surviving are two sons, Dexter and Craig Smith, both of Cherryfield; one daughter, Claudette LeMay of Biddeford; one brother, Erwin Clark of Addison; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Lena Langill, 90

WELLS - Lena E. Langill, 90, formerly of Littlefield Road, passed away Feb. 27, 2002 at the Varney Crossing Nursing Center in North Berwick after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 31, 1911 in Wells High Pine, Maine, a daughter of George and Leontine (Hatch) Ricker. She was employed for many years as a housekeeper at a hospital in Norwood, Mass. before returning to Maine. She enjoyed looking for antiques and going to yard sales.

She is survived by one son, Clayton G. Langill Sr.; five grandchildren, Clayton G. Langill Jr., Gloria Kimball, Darlene Cumback, Dawn Syminis and Diana Johnson, all of Wells; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Howard of Wells and Evelyn Burt of Taunton, Mass.

A funeral was held Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, with Rev. Robert G. Cole Sr. of Bethel Christian Church officiating. Spring burial in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells.
