SARA E., of North Berwick died Nov. 24, 1998 in Sanford. Visiting hours 7-9 p.m. Friday at LaFrance-Lambert Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Ignatius Church. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, North Berwick.
Patricia Gordon
LYMAN - Patricia Gordon, 19, of Lord’s Lane, died Saturday (listed Wednesday, May 5, 1999) in Lyman.
She was born June 7, 1979 in Biddeford, the daughter of Michael and Nancy Papcun Gordon.
Miss Gordon was raised on the Gordon Farmstead in Lyman. She was a 1998 graduate of Massabesic High School and a longtime member of the 4-H Club.
She had a love for showing and jumping her beloved appaloosa pony “Nipper,” hiking Saddleback Mountain, camping on Vaughn’s Island and canoeing in Florida with Outward Bound.
Miss Gordon had a great love for the way of life on Kauai, Hawaii, where she stayed for a brief time, and family members say she planned to return there to live.
Survivors say she dearly loved her family and friends and will be missed by all of them.
Survivors include her parents of Lyman; her maternal grandparents, George and Doris O’Brien Papcun of Kennebunk; and her paternal grandparents, Merton and Patricia Weatherbee Gordon of Madrid, N.Y.
Curt Doescher
HOLLIS - Curt C. Doescher, 79, of Shy Beaver Road, died Tuesday (listed Wednesday, May 5, 1999) at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born Feb. 27, 1920 in Hamburg, Germany, the son of John and Barbara Schramm Doescher, and emigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 3, settling in the Clifton, N.J. area, where he graduated from the local high school.
During World War II, Mr. Doescher was a fighter pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force, flying P-47s while stationed in England. His plane was shot down over Hamburg, where he spent 18 months as a prisoner of war.
Mr. Doescher was employed with Borden Ice Cream for 40 years, where his last position was vice president. He later worked two years for the Armel Ice Cream Company, retiring in 1987.
He and his wife moved to Hollis in 1989.
Mr. Doescher enjoyed sailing, snowmobiling and motorcycles, was a Bonny Eagle sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Helen Bobby Doescher of Hollis; a daughter, Susan Brooks of Hollis; a brother, Walter of Thiells, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Emily, Ben and Annie Brooks, all of Hollis.
Pauline Dupuis
BIDDEFORD - Pauline C. Dupuis, 76, formerly of Quimby Street, died Tuesday (listed Wednesday, May 5, 1999) at Southern Maine Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 7, 1922 in Biddeford, a daughter of Philip and Exilia Gagnon Robillard, and was educated locally.
Mrs. Dupuis was employed at the Pepperell Manufacturing Co. for several years.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.
Mrs. Dupuis enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing dominoes.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard Dupuis, in 1980.
Survivors include a son, Raymond of Waterboro; a daughter, Rita Lauzier of Lyman; three grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
Abbie Record
BUXTON - Former resident Abbie E. Record, 92, formerly of Tampa, Fla. and Lancaster, Mass., died Monday (listed Wednesday, May 5, 1999) at her daughter’s home in Apison, Tenn.
She was born April 14, 1907 in Buxton, a daughter of Frank E. and Blanch Rankin Andrew, and was a graduate of Buxton High School and the New England Saniatrium and Hospital of Melrose, Mass., where she was employed for several years as a nurse.
Mrs. Record had been a private duty nurse in the Buxton area. She was employed for several years at Westboro (Mass.) State Hospital and Lakeview Nursing Home of Clifton, Mass., retiring in 1977.
She enjoyed knitting, crochet and tatting and was well known for her knitted baby sets and Miss Jennie doll sets, family members remember. She enjoyed cooking and baking and is remembered for her light touch with brown sugar fudge and lemon meringue pies.
A woman of deep faith, she relied on the scripture verses 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Record Sr., on Jan. 27, 1977.
Survivors include a son, Robert F. Jr. of Limerick; and two daughters, Elaine B. Graves of Apison and Charlotte M. Mayberry of Berwick.
Guy Fecteau
BIDDEFORD - Guy Fecteau, 69, of Pool Street, died at home Tuesday (listed Wednesday, May 5, 1999). Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.

LOIS H. HENNIGAR, of Pitman, N.J., died March 6, 1999 at her home. The daughter of the late Gertrude and George Hennigar, she is survived by a daughter, Eileen E. Zynosky of Naugatuck, Conn.; a son, Randall C. Uron Sr. of Westville, N.J.; and 6 grandchildren. Mother of the late Ronald Ron. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery, Springvale. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Thomas Bourque
SANFORD - Thomas M. Bourque, 29, of Main Street, died Monday (listed Wednesday, October 6, 1999) in Turner as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born April 3, 1970 in Chelsea, Mass., a son of Thomas A. and Judith (Schena) Bourque, moved to Sanford in 1986 and graduated from Sanford High school in 1988.
Mr. Bourque was a former volunteer firefighter and EMT in Sanford. He then worked as a corrections officer with the York County Sheriff's Office for two years. He was also employed as a mechanic for MCR and Norm's Sunoco, both of Sanford. For the past two years he was employed at Shaw's Distribution Warehouse in Wells.
Survivors include his parents of Sanford; a son, Thomas M. Jr. and a daughter, Chelsey C., both of Springvale; maternal grandparents Iris and Jerry Schena of Inverness, Fla.; a brother, David T. of Sanford; a sister, Darlene M. Fenderson of Baldwin; two nieces and two nephews.
Wilfred Brochu
BIDDEFORD - Former resident Wilfred Brochu, 70, died Monday (listed Wednesday, October 6, 1999) in Portland, Conn.
He was born Jan. 7, 1929 in Biddeford, a son of Alphonse and Bertha (Gilbert) Brochu, and had lived in Portland for the past 36 years. He was employed by Standard Knapp for 23 years, retiring in 1988.
Mr. Brochu was a member of the Church of St. Mary.
He and his wife had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September.
A son, Daniel Ralph, has passed away.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Brochu of Portland, Conn.; a son, Roland of Middletown, Conn.; two daughters, Marie Hurd of Troy, N.H. and Julienne Moy of Plainville, Conn.; two brothers, Fernand of Biddeford and Donald of Saco; a sister, Rachel Croteau of Biddeford; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and seven neices and nephews.
Alice Gallagher
SANFORD - Alice M. Gallagher, 87, of Main Street and formerly of Wells, died Tuesday (listed Wednesday, October 6, 1999) at Goodall Hospital.
She was born Nov. 4, 1911 in New Haven, Conn., a daughter of Arthur and Ada Belle (Charbonneau) Robert, was a 1929 graduate of Stamford (Conn.) High School and attended Shorts Business School in Stamford.
Mrs. Gallagher was employed for many years as a secretary for the deputy sheriff's office in the Stamford area. She was also a secretary for several companies in Stamford, and retired to Wells in 1969.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Wells and was coordinator of the CCD program. She was also a member of the Star of the Sea Chapter of the Carmelites of York County.
Her husband, Frank Gallagher, died in 1957.
Survivors include a son, James F. of Sanford; a daughter, Margaret of Lilborn, Ga.; a sister, Blanche Harrigan of Wells; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce Ottoson
LIMERICK - Joyce E. Ottoson, 85, died Saturday (listed Wednesday, October 6, 1999) at Newton Center in Sanford.
She was born Sept. 14, 1914 on a ship in New York Harbor, a daughter of Jorgen and Ellevine Olsen Larsen. As a child, she enjoyed watching the tugboats in the harbor and gazing at the Statue of Liberty in the distance.
Mrs. Ottoson was a member of the Limerick Congregational Church, where she was a member of the women's fellowship group.
Friends say Mrs. Ottoson was a very kind and loving person with a great sense of humor.
She enjoyed painting, music and writing poetry.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
