BANDLOW, MARLYNN H. Age 77. Died Sunday evening at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Marlynn served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the South Pacific. He received a Purple Heart for his actions with the 19th Infantry. A retired Chrysler manufacturing and engineering supervisor, Marlynn had lived on Torch Lake for the past 20 years. He was a previous resident of Grosse Pointe Woods. He had been employed at Briggs Manufacturing Co. (later purchased by Chrysler) from 1939 to 1979. After he retired in 1979, he worked as a manufacturer's reprensentative to Chrysler for Martin Foundry, Peak Industries, Ram Pattern Co. in Detroit for 18 years. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Torch Lake; children, Richard (Diane) Bandlow of Evart, Sharon (Luke) Bandlow Reese of Haslett, and Cheryl (Tom) Tobin of New River, Ariz.; and five grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, David, and Laurel Bandlow, and Ashley Reese. Friends may visit from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Home., Visitation 3 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Traverse City. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Seminary Fund.

BINDER, JAY A., M.D., Beloved son of Gerald W. and the late Agnes M. Dearest brother of Lloyd L. Vaughn. Loving grandson of Genevieve Binder. Dr. Jay Binder graduated from Hillsdale College, Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, and was a first year Resident of Duke University, specializing in Diagnostic Radiology.
