WILLSON, ROBERT F., Age 90. August 2, 2001. Beloved husband of Viola. Loving father of Robert (Patricia), Mary Jane (Larry) Thiede and Joseph (Amy). Dear grandfather of Robert, David, Robert, Rebecca and Geoffrey. Dear brother of June (Robert) Moran. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Michigan State University in 1936. He practiced in Marine City, MI for 2 years before coming to Detroit, where he accepted a position in the Health Dept. He was a food inspector and Chief Veterinarian of the Dog Pound for several years. He served as Director of the Food Sanitation Bureau of the Health Dept. He retired in 1966 but returned 2 years later to serve as Director of The Detroit Zoo. He held the position for 5 years before retiring to his home in Livonia. He was the first veterinarian to serve as Secretary to the Board of Health, and in 1963 he was named Veterinarian of the Year by the Michigan Veterinary Association. Arrangements by Harry J.
