GRENON, E. EUGENE, Died August 22, 1999, age 83 of Elk Rapids, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Eugene was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII. Formerly of Flint and Detroit, he was the former owner and operator of Gregory and Leonard Office Equipment Company in Ferndale. He was also a member of the Moslem Temple No. 5429 in Detroit and the Ionic Lodge No. 474, also in Detroit. He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. (McKenzie), who he married on October 14, 1942, in West Palm Beach, FL; three daughters, Mary-Martha Grenon of Austin, TX, Krystin Louise Grenon of Chicago and Margaret Anne (Russell) Riser of Christiana, Tenn.; son, Gregory McKenzie (Mary Josephson) Grenon of Portland, Ore.; grandson, Christopher Gregory Grenon of Austin, TX; three stepgrandchildren; and two sisters, Marguerite Poole of Plymouth and Jacqueline Sonntag of Swartz Creek. He was preceded in death by a sister, Antoinette. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be directed to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60707. MOURRAY, JACK, of Lake Angelus, August 23, 1999. Beloved husband of 48 years to Darlene. Loving father to their five children: David, Deborah, Cheryl, Mark, and Joseph. Devoted grandfather to 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Faithful companion to his Jack Russell Terrier, Rusty. Jack Mourray was a Product Development Engineer for 45 years at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI. He was responsible for the development of various suspension components for which he received numerous patents and awards throughout his tenure with the company. He was fondly thought of by his coworkers as a stable, steady, intelligent person who solved problems. He was a pleasure to have on all the trips or in the lab developing new ways to make cars ride better. His knowledge of shock absorbers, and how to develop them was "unparralled in the automotive business." Most of all he will be missed as a kind and loving gentlemen, and a valued friend to all those who have had the privilege of knowing him. His quiet, humorous presence made the ride gentler for his coworkers, friends and family. His other passions included caring for his family, traveling, hunting, fishing, Morel mushrooming, golfing and lake living on Lake Angelus. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 28, 1999, 1 p.m. at Coats Funeral Home, Waterford. The family will receive friends Friday 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Henry Ford Hospice or the National Brain Tumor Foundation, envelopes available at the funeral home.
