ROMINE, ERNIE, Age 52, died suddenly on the morning of September 3, 1999, surrounded by his wife, colleagues, and students. SLOTKIN-OKIN, BABETTE Of Palm Beach, FL and formerly of New York City and Detroit, MI passed away on August 31, 1999 after a short illness. Beloved wife of Robert Okin. STEIGER, RICHARD W., Age 72 of Farmington Hills, died September 3, 1999. A memorial service will be held September 14, at 3 p.m. in the Universalist Unitarian Church of Farmington Hills with the Reverend Suzanne Paul officiating. Born in Cleveland in 1927, Mr. Steiger was a World War II Veteran and graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art. His long career as an automotive designer included employment with Kaiser-Frazer, Ford Motor Company, and Chrysler Corporation. He was also an accomplished writer and photographer, with many published articles in the field of concrete technology to his credit. At the time of his death, Mr. Steiger was a member of the Farmington Hills Crime Prevention Advisory Committee, secretary of the Council of Homeowner Associations of Farmington Hills, and treasurer of the Ramble Hills Subdivision Association. He is survived by his wife, Mary K. Hurd; daughters Maria Steiger, Marla Boole, and Linda Miller; a son, Reid J. Steiger; and stepchildren Ralph Hurd, Denise Hurd, and Holly Hurd. His three grandchildren are: Nathan and Joshua Boole, and Coral Miller.
