Age 94, died February 26, 1999. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Survivors include four children; Allan (Margaret) Dalian, Arthur Dalian, Anthony (Joan) Dalian, Dorothy Rupp; 17 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church Saturday, May 15, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. with Fr. Edmond Ertzbischoff as Celebrant. Contribution in Mrs. Dalian's memory may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Arrangements by JANOWIAK FUNERAL HOME, GEER-LOGAN CHAPEL.

Taylor, Clayborn, Ypsilanti, MI

Mr. Clayborn Taylor was born December 29, 1902 to the late Chest and Anna Taylor in Haywood County, Brownsville, Tennessee. He departed this life on May 10, 1999 at his residence of over 60 years in Ypsilanti, MI. He professed a hope in Christ as a young man and was an active and very devoted member of the Metropolitan Memorial Baptist Church where he gave untiring service as Deacon and as a choir member. He was a faithful member in all the services. Mr. Taylor loved his family, community, church and civic affairs and gave of his time and substance to all. His cheerful disposition earned him the nickname of Happy. Mr. Taylor was united in holy matrimony to the late Bertha Jones Taylor. She preceded him in death. Although this union was not blessed with children, he always expressed an interest and love of children and education. Mr. Taylor served for many years as a volunteer in the local Adult Foster Grandparent Program. Eight sisters preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Metropolitan Memorial Baptist Church, 431 Hawkins, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.

Raymor, Alice, Fenton, MI

Age 83, passed away May 11, 1999 at Pennybrook in Hartland. She was born February 26, 1916 in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Frank and Anna Godden. She was married to John W. Raymor on September 16, 1946 inToledo, OH. They celebrated 53 years of marriage last year. Alice loved to swim and travel. She retired from Chrysler in 1974. She is survived by her husband John; sister Frances Miller; two nephews and a niece; as well as many friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Florence Simlinger and Louella Pazel. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Deighton Funeral Home, Fenton, with Pastor Dale Swihart officiating. Interment will follow in Tyrone Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to the V.F.W., Curtis Wolverton Post 3243, 1148 N. Leroy, Fenton, MI. 48430.

Jacobus, Charles, Ann Arbor, MI

Age 79, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999 at his home. He was born January 21, 1920 in Ann Arbor. Charles was employed by Ann Arbor Clothing, and attended Zion Lutheran Church. He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Ben) Case; granddaughters, Kammy Hulett, Anne Marie Neessen, and Lisa Marie Jacobus; grandson, Kevin Charles Hulett; great grandson, Joseph Stevenson; and great granddaughters, Desiree Jacobus, and Katie Stevenson. He was preceded in death by Nona, his wife of 55 years. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 15, 1999 at 11 a.m. at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL with Reverend Edwin Eliason officiating. Burial will be in Arborcrest cemetery. There will be a luncheon afterwards for family and friends at 2731 Hampshire, Ann Arbor. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Arbor Hospice, American Cancer Society, or send flowers if they would like.

Pollock, Mildred F., Posen, MI

Age 78, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 1999 at Alpena General Hospital. Born Mildred F. Larsen on April 21, 1921 in Lincoln, NE, she married James J. Pollock on August 30, 1940 in Minnesota; he preceded her in death June of 1988. She was employed at Shady Stop Greenhouses in Hamburg until moving to this area in 1985. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a lay reader for over 21 years. She is survived by five daughters, Ruthann (Mrs. Dick) Buck of Portage, Margaret Quagon of Alpena, Ellen (Mrs. Robert) Chunko of Lake Village, Grace Burridge of Indiana and Mildred E. (Mrs. Ronald) Shambeau Jr. of Alpena; 28 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Two sons, James and Montiford, preceded her in death. Mrs. Pollock is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the prayer service at 7 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Downs officiating. On Thursday her body will be taken to Keehn Funeral Home in Brighton for funeral services on Friday at 1 p.m. Interment: Hamburg cemetery. Memorials: Habitat for Humanity and Trinity Episcopal Church.

Griffin, Margery M., Superior Township, MI

Age 82, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 1999 at Karrington of Ann Arbor. She was born January 4, 1917 in Bagnall, MI, the daughter of Earnest B. and Harriet F. (Richmond) Williams. On September 16, 1939, she married Fred E. Griffin and he preceded her death January 18, 1980. Mrs. Griffin was a clerk at Grants Department Store for 12 years, retiring in 1973 when the store closed. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ypsilanti. Survivors include: four sons, Glen, Earnest (Carolyn), Ted (Linda) and Gene (Betty) Griffin, all of Ypsilanti; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; five sisters, Mary McFall, Beverly (John) Herig, Wilma (Howard) Stoddard, Donna Yoder and Jessie (Raymond) Hammond; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Neil, Robert and Dean Williams; and one sister, Edna Williams, in infancy. The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 1999 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Peter Steinhaus officiating. Burial will follow in Union-Udell cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday.

Milgrom, Seymour (Sid), Walled Lake, MI

A retired major appliance manager with Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 39 years, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999 at age 73. Born in Detroit on July 6, 1925, Mr. Milgrom graduated from Detroit Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Mr. Milgrom was a World War II Army infantry Veteran with the First Division, and a recipient of the Purple Heart with three European Theater Battle Stars. He served as president of Kappa Sigma Kappa fraternity at D.I.T., was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, B'nai Brith Bloch Lodge, and Friends of Na' Amat, and was a dedicated blood donor to the American Red Cross for more than 50 years. Mr. Milgrom was invariably of good cheer. He looked to enjoy each day and to find the good in ourselves and others. Surviving are his wife Frances of Walled Lake; sister, Adeline Longert of Southfield; sons, Jeffrey (Valerie) Milgrom of Highland Park, IL, Randy (Patricia) Milgrom of Ann Arbor, Scott (Svetlana) Milgrom of Waterford; and grandchildren, Mandy, Dan, Sam,Rachel, Hannah. Services 1:15 p.m. Friday, May 14 at the Ira Kauffman Chapel, 9 Mile Rd and Southfield. 248-569-0020.

Cushing, Ellwood L., Ann Arbor, MI

Died May 10, 1999 at Harbour's Edge Nursing Home in Delray Beach, FL. He was born October 23, 1906 in Ann Arbor, the second of four children, born to L.O. Cushing and Clara Kraus Cushing. On May 28, 1931 he married Evelyn Adams who preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, James B. Cushing and a daughter, Judith C. Newton; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Cush was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School and the University of Michigan Class of 1929 where he lettered in basketball. He owned the Ford Agency and Wolverine Manufacturing Company in Ann Arbor; was a member of the Victors Club and the Western Golf Association; was president of the M Club and Barton Hills Country Club in 1944 and a director of the National Bank and Trust for several years. A private family service has been held. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Evans Scholars Foundation, 1 Briar Rd., Golf, IL 60029.

Bass, Eula Bell, Ypsilanti, Mich.

Age 73, passed away May 11, 1999 at Elmwood Geriatric Village. She was born May 6, 1927 in Greenwood, MS. She was married to Moses Bass and he survives. Visitation will take place Friday, May 14 from 2-8 p.m. at Lucille's Funeral Home, 411 S. Adams, Ypsilanti. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 1999 at Messias Temple Church, 200 Harriet St., Ypsilanti with Dist. Elder Harry S. Grayson officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.

Wild, Richard J. Rick, Lansing, MI

Age 30, died May 12, 1999. Born March 18, 1969 in Muskogee, OK. Rick was a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Culture Club. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Gerald in 1992. Surviving are his fiancee, Tammy Breslin; parents, Robert and Sharyn Wild; five sisters, Karen (Pedro) Rodriguez, Jennifer (Stan) Johanning, Anna, Sandra and Cherrie Wild; six brothers, Robert, Anthony, Jeffrey, Roger, Milon and Edward Wild; grandparents, Mary Wild and Richard Kern; niece, Gabriella Rodriguez (God daughter); two nephews, Pedro and Roberto Rodriguez. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 15, 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Williamston, 157 High Street, Williamston, the Rev. Dan McKean, Pastor presiding and the Rev. James L. Meyer, Detroit concelebrating. Burial will follow in Munith cemetery, Munith, MI. Friends may call at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Memorial Sharing Service will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the Michigan Pulmonary Disease Camp, Inc., in memory of Rick.

Becker, Marvin H., Port Orange, FL

Formerly of Ann Arbor, MI
Age 78, passed away May 13, 1999 at Arbor Hospice Residence, Ann Arbor. He was born February 25, 1921 in Ann Arbor, the son of Herman and Amanda (Aprill) Becker. On September 28, 1944, he was married to Kathleen F. Green in Florida. After their marriage, the Becker's resided in Ann Arbor for several years before moving to Grasslake in 1969, and retiring permanently to Port Orange, FL in 1986. Mr. Becker graduated from Ann Arbor High School, in 1939. He attended the University of Michigan for two years and was a member of their wrestling team, before leaving to join the Air Force. Mr. Becker was a veteran of WWII, serving with the Air Force in Europe. During WWII, he was a pilot in the 53rd Fighter Group of the 8th Air Force. He was decorated as an "Ace", and flew on D-Day. Mr. Becker was a former member of the Ann Arbor Ski Club and a current member of the Daytona Beach Baptist Church, Florida. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he had been employed as a salesman for Gill Lumber Company, and then Fingerle Lumber Company, Ann Arbor, for over 30 years. Surviving in addition to his wife Kathleen, are two sons: James H. (Jan) Becker of Port Orange, FL & John M. Becker, of Ypsilanti; and a daughter: Mary K. (Mark) Carrow of Brighton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Capt. James M. Becker, San Antonio, TX, Patrick T. Becker, Independence Lake, MI, Aaron J. Becker, Port Orange, FL, Joel H. Becker, of Ann Arbor, Chris Carrow and Tiffany Carrow, both of Brighton, Elise Becker, Port Orange, FL and JoAnne Becker, of Rossford, Ohio, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Melvin Becker in 1985. Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 9455 Hilton Rd., Brighton on Saturday, May 15, 1999 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Arbor Hospice. Envelopes are available at the services, or at Keehn Funeral Home, (810) 229-9871.

Niemi, Betty Lou, Dexter, MI

Age 70, passed away Thursday, May 13, 1999 at Arbor Hospice Residence after a short illness. Beloved wife of John C. Niemi; loving mother of daughters Jeannine (Gary) Bunn, Karen (Ron) Niemi Elton; son Ron Niemi (Wendy). She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was an avid bingo player and a free and loving spirit that made all who knew her enjoy being near her. A celebration of her life will be held on May 23, 1999 at 1 p.m. for family, friends and those who knew her at 9025 Trinkle Road. Age 70, died May 13, 1999. Beloved wife of Emer C. Christie. Dear mother of Madelyn (William) Goodman of Arkansas, Susan Christie of Milford and Charles (Nancy) Christie of Arizona. Sister of Don (Connie) Marotta and Frank (Kay) Marotta of Commerce. Also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Christie owned Dolls by Joan in the Brighton and Howell area. Simpson, Jettie B., Ypsilanti, MI

Formerly of Buffalo, N.Y.Age 85, passed away May 11, 1999 at Bellewoods Continuous Care Center. She was born June 23, 1913 to Etta and Sam Martin in Dresden, TN. On November 3, 1939 she married William D. Simpson, he preceded her in death. Survivors include a niece and nephew, Carrie and James Lewis, who moved her to Ypsilanti about 20 years ago. Visitation is Sunday, May 16, from 2-8 p.m. at Lucille's Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, 1999 at the funeral home, Elder Melvin Lewis officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens, Plymouth. Arrangements by Lucille's Funeral Home.
