Age 55, died Wednesday, October 6, 1999. Beloved husband of Georgia Ann. Dear son of Mary Ellen Clark of Milford. Dear son-in-law of Mary Jo Berglund. Dear brother-in-law of William J. (Pat) Berglund, Neil A. Berglund, Brenda M. Berglund. Also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Mr. Clark was a Professor of Accounting, of over 25 years, at Eastern Michigan University, a partner and Attorney with Bergesen and Clark L.L.P. in Troy, and worked with Renaissance C.P.A. in Ann Arbor. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1851 East Commerce Road, Milford with Father Ron Anderson officiating. Friends may visit Lynch & Sons (Richardson-Bird Chapel) , 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, Friday 2-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the George S. Clark, College of Business/Eastern Michigan University Scholarship Fund. Geiger, Graham L.., Howell, MI

Age 89, died Wednesday, October 6, 1999. Funeral Services Saturday 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Howell. Arrangements by MacDonald's Funeral Home, Howell, 517-546-2800.

Lemons, Ernest Earl III, Ypsilanti, MI

Age 16, passed away October 3, 1999. He was born in Hot Springs, AK on May 15, 1982 the son of Ernest Earl Lemons II of Hot Springs, AK and Emily Lemons of Ypsilanti. Earl was a junior at Willow Run High School. He was on the varsity football team, ran track and played basketball. He is survived by his parents. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1-8 p.m. at Lucille's Funeral Home, Ypsilanti. Family hour will be at 11 a.m. Monday at New Covenant Baptist Church, Ypsilanti with funeral service to follow with Rev. Crout officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

Sherbrook, Eunice M., Ypsilanti, MI

Age 74, passed away Friday, October 8, 1999 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born July 16, 1925 in Ridgeway, MI, the daughter of Ellsworth and Mary (Eddy) Dickerson. On July 3, 1943, she married Harold Sherbrook in Howell, MI and he preceded her in death June 12, 1977. Mrs. Sherbrook worked for the University of Michigan for 31 years, retiring in 1987. Survivors include: two sons, David Sherbrook of Ypsilanti and Kenneth (Karen) Sherbrook of Dansville, MI; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lon Dickerson of Plymouth, MI. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis, in 1971; three sisters; and two brothers. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 11, 1999 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gordon Moore of Milan Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Union-Udell cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Donor's Choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Miller, Edith M., Hamburg, MI

Age 97, died Friday, October 8, 1999. Visitation Saturday 6-9 p.m. and Sunday 1-9 p.m. Funeral Services Monday, October 11, 1999 at 11 a.m. Bell-Borek Funeral Home in Hamburg.

Teall, Dorothy Adele, Ann Arbor, MI

Died Thursday October 7, 1999 at her residence, at the age of 84. She retired as a librarian with the Ann Arbor Public Library. She is survived by a son, Ronald (An) Teall; and two grandsons, R.J. Teall Jr. and Sean Teall. Services and interment are private. Arrangements by Muehlig Funeral Chapel.

Tobias, Forrest I. Toby, Manchester, MI

Age 79, passed away on October 7, 1999 just the way he always shared he wanted to go, walking his dogs in the quietude of the world. He loved the outdoors, animals, and being amongst God's Creation. He also enjoyed fishing. Toby was born on January 19, 1920 the son of Orson & Martha (Hall) Tobias. He was married to Phyllis Jean Klager and she preceded him in death in 1979. He retired from Johnson Controls of Manchester after over 20 years of dedicated service. Toby was Veteran of WW II serving in the US Navy, he was also a life member of the American Legion Post #557 of Dexter. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #2050 of Ann Arbor, he was a life member of the Masonic Blue Lodge of Dexter. Toby is survived by: Sons Jim (Barb) Tobias of Michigan, Dan Tobias of South Carolina (Evelyn) of Michigan, Keith (Karen) Tobias of South Carolina, Kim (Wanda) Tobias of Michigan; Daughter Kaye (Phil) Stachlewitz of Michigan; eleven grand-children; and eleven great grandchildren, Long time special companion: Pauline Neville of Manchester and his special friends:Buster his dog and Katie his cat. Toby was also preceded in death by one son Jeff in infancy, sisters, brothers and his parents. At his request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on November 7, 1999 at2 pm from Carr Park in Manchester. Expressions of sympathy maybe made to Washtenaw County Humane Society. Arrangements entrusted to the Jenter-Braun Funeral Home Manchester.

Slone, Naomi Marie, Whittaker, MI

Age 75, died Friday, October 8, 1999 at University Hospitals. She was born September 18, 1924 in Ashland, KY the daughter of Luther and Georgia (Willis) Cornette, and on May 4, 1945 she married Wilbert Slone in Greenup, KY. She was a member of the Oregon Pentecostal Church of God in Ypsilanti. Survivors include her husband, Wilbert, her children; Brenda (Howard) Cunningham of East Point, MI, Marcella (Michael) Janette of Southgate, MI, Leona (Roy) Ashmall, Naomi Teachout, and Vivian (David) Freed all of Ypsilanti, Wilberta (Rick) Knight off Belleville, MI, Patricia Slone of Ypsilanti, Gary Slone of Grass Lake, MI and James (Maryanne) Slone of Belleville; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grand children; two sisters, Juanita Bevier and Gloria Sammons. She was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Larry, John and Etta Slone; two brothers; and one sister. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Slone Family. Envelopes are available at the NIE FUNERAL HOME, 2400 Carpenter Rd. where the family will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday, and 2-4 & 6-8 Monday, October 10 & 11, 1999. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at Bethesda Bible Church, 1800 S. Huron, Ypsilanti with Rev. Leon Johnson and Rev.Bob Ray of the Oregon Pentecostal Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Highland cemetery.

McCormick, Howard H., South Lyon, MI

Age 78, passed away October 8, 1999. He was born on May 1, 1921 to Harold C. and Ruth (Walsh) McCormick in Mason, MI. He married Marjorie Reynolds on August 14, 1945 in Ypsilanti and moved to South Lyon 30 years ago. He served in the US Army during WWII from 1942 to 1945 in France. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1983. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie McCormick of South Lyon; loving father of Carolyn (Kenneth) Morgan of AZ, Harold (Paula) McCormick of AZ, Irene McCormick of Ypsilanti, Glen (Julia) McCormick of Howell, and Donna Zacharias of Whitmore Lake; his father, Harold H. McCormick of Novi; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive him. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at PHILLIPS FUNERAL HOME, 122 West Lake Street (Ten Mile) , South Lyon, with Rev. Mark R. Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.

Layher, Rudolph G. Jr., Saline, MI

Age 80, died suddenly Monday, October 11, 1999 at his farm in Pittsfield Township, MI. He was born October 17, 1918 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Rudolph and Thema (Schnirring) Layher. Mr. Layher had been a self-employed farmer for over fifty years and had a love for flying airplanes. In his younger years he taught aviation as a flight instructor for Ann Arbor Aero Service. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ of Saline. On August 6, 1949 he married Marjorie F. Kuhl in Manchester and she survives. Other survivors include four children, Gretchen Ann Layer of Saline, William (Laurel) Layher, also of Saline, Rudy T. (Susan) Layher of Manchester, MI and Joy Lynn(Lawrence) Esposito of Pompton Plains, NJ; six grandchildren, Scott, Leah, R.J. Matthew Ellis, Matthew Lawrence, and Olivia; one brother, John F. (Elaine) Layher of Saline; and two sisters, Lucile (Walter) Hinderer of Manchester, and Elizabeth Dechert of Brandenton, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 15, 1999 from the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home with John Scherdt officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt. Hope cemetery, Freedom Township, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul U.C.C. Children's Christian Education Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home where friends may begin calling on Thursday between hours of 6-9 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.

Wiley, Anna Isabelle, Dexter, MI

Age 91, passed away Tuesday morning on October 12, 1999 at her home. She was born March 20, 1908 in Stewartsville, Posey County, IN. She was the daughter of Adous Benson and Clara Marcia (Heubner) Wiley. Isabelle graduated from Stewartsville High School with Salutorian honors in 1926. She was a registered nurse, with training at Deaconess Hospital, in Evansville, IN and the Englewood Hospital in Chicago, IL with special courses in Obsterics from Lying Inn Hospital in Chicago. She had worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor as Head Nurse of the General Surgery Floor and with the burn unit for 25 years before retiring in 1972. She was a member of the St. Andrew's United Church of Christ in Dexter. Surviving is her daughter, Carolyn Dancer of Dexter, with whom she made her home for the past 19 years. Also surviving are her two nephews, Charles (Beverly) Wiley and Gary Wiley, all of Evansville, IN; and a niece, Marcia Ann Houle of Chicago, IL; and several grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a nephew, two brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 15, 1999 at 11 a.m. from St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, Dexter with the Rev. Gary Kwiatek officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the STAFFAN-MITCHELL FUNERAL HOME, Chelsea, also at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be in St. Andrew's cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Andrew's United Church of Christ or Individualized Hospice. Arrangements by the John W. Mitchell Family.

Pearsall, Eleanor, Trithart, Ann Arbor, MI

Age 79, died Saturday, October 9, 1999 at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital of Macomb in Mt. Clemens, MI. Eleanor was born June 18, 1920 in Cambridge, OH, the daughter of John Calvin and Nelle Thorpe (Pearce) Smith. On May 13, 1944 she was married to Albert H. Trithart of Cadiz, OH, who preceded her in death. July 28, 1984 she married Allan G. Pearsall of Ann Arbor, MI, who also preceded her in death. She was an Assistant Professor of Dietetics, MPH, RD at Eastern Michigan University, she was an esteemed piano teacher and Founder of the Trithart-Faber Music Studio and established the first private dietetic practice in Michigan, (NFS, Inc.). She was a member of the American Dietetic Association, Michigan Dietetic Association, Ann Arbor Dietetic Association, the Music Teachers National Association, the Michigan Music Teachers Association, the Ann Arbor Piano Teachers Guild and the Ann Arbor First Baptist Choir and Children's Choir. Mrs. Pearsall is the beloved mother of Marry Lee Trithart Weiss (Michael), Rebecca Trithart Wyatt (John) , and Nancy Trithart Faber (Randall); sister of Luella Rampe, John Smith, Samuel Smith, and David Smith; grandmother of Gregory Weiss, Jennifer Weiss, Vivian Faber, Andrew Nichols, Julia Nichols, and Chelsea Pearsall; stepmother of Ramona (Douglas) Nichols and Malcom (Cherie) Pearsall. Services will be held Thursday, October 14, 1999 at 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ann Arbor with Rev. Alan Brehm presiding. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL. Interment will take place 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 15 at Arborcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ann Arbor or to the American Heart Association.

Burrage, Mark David, Mark David Burrage, Ph.D., died on

Sunday, October 10, 1999 at his home. Mark was born on June 15, 1960 in England to his parents, David and Dagmar Burrage. His intellectual capabilities earned him scholarships to a private school, where he studied physics. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Leicester, England, in 1988. Mark came to the United States for his postdoctoral work at the University of Michigan, Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences. His work focused on the dynamics of the upper atmosphere, and his accomplishments included being the author or co-author of more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He played an integral role in space physics research at the U-M, and his pioneering research using high resolution Doppler imaging made significant contributions to the understanding of tides in the middle atmosphere. He received a number of prestigious awards, including being named University of Michigan Research Scientist of the Year in 1998. He joined the Michigan Aerospace Corporation in 1998 and served as its senior research scientist until his death. Mark married his wife, Margo Lynn Berger, in 1992. He became a father first in 1993 and again in 1995. He was a man to whom honesty was paramount. He was a patient and loving husband, and his devotion to his family was unparalleled. We will miss his dry wit, his keen intellect, his devotion to his mother, and most of all, his unending love for his wife and children. He will remain forever in our hearts, and we will treasure the many memories he made with us. He will continue to watch over his daughters always. Mark is survived by his wife, Margo; his 6-year-old daughter, Katie; his 4-year-old daughter, Rachel; his mother, Dagmar; his father, David; his brother, Alan; his uncle and aunt, Peter and Anne Maier-Komar and their sons; his uncle and aunt, Brigitte and Friedel Sedlaczek; many in-laws, nephews and nieces; his friends, Scott and Mary and many others; and his co-workers. Visitation will take place Wednesday, October 13, 5 to 8 p.m. at Muehlig's Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor. His memorial service will be held Thursday, October 14 at 6 p.m. at Muehlig's.
