Michelsen, Prof. Finn Christian, Bergen, Norway

Age 75, passed away October 24, 1999, in Houston, TX.

After taking his Ph.D at the University of Michigan, he was for many years a professor of naval architecture and marine engineering; he later made valuable contributions to the business world, and was highly respected by colleagues.

He was a loving husband and a kind father, and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Olga Michelsen; daughters, Britt Michelsen, Sandra Michelsen, Hilde Richardson, and Ann Michelsen; sons Finn Michelsen and Rolf Michelsen; by ten grandchildren; by brother, Birger Michelsen; and sister Wenche Hovland.

Memorial services were held for the immediate family.

Contributions in his name can be made to local Hospice chapters; acknowledgments can be sent to the family c/o Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Klein, Texas 77379.

Brinkerhoff, Gregg A., Belleville, MI

Age 36. Mr. Brinkerhoff passed away Wednesday October 27, 1999 at his home with his loving family.

He has fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Brinkerhoff was a teacher and counselor for Savage Elementary School and Belleville High School where he also coached Junior Varsity Basketball.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing all sports, he played softball on the Little Ceasars team for many years.

Gregg was a member of the Michigan Counseling Association and Michigan Coaching Association.

He is survived by his son, Austin James Brinkerhoff; his parents, Keith and Connie Brinkerhoff of Hartland, MI; grandparents, James Brinkerhoff of Jackson also Ray and Maebelle Scoles of Lansing; two brothers, Brian (Stacy) Brinkerhoff of Lake Alfred, FL and David (Roxanne) Brinkerhoff of Belleville; his sister, Beth (Michael) Sampson of Belleville; four nephews, Kyle and Connor Sampson, Jacob Brinkerhoff and Denten Brinkerhoff; three uncles, Gene Brinkerhoff of Jackson, Gary (Sue) Scoles of Lowell, MI and Bill (Debbie) Kandler of Lansing; an aunt Sharie (Rob) Richards of Grand Rapids also many cousins, friends and students that he has touched.

Preceded in death by his grandmother, Veryle Brinkerhoff.

In-state, DAVID C. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, Belleville where friends may call 7-9 pm Saturday and 12-5 pm Sunday.

Funeral Service 2:30 pm Monday at Belleville First United Methodist Church with Dr. John N. Grenfell III officiating.

Interment, Hillside cemetery, Belleville.

Memorial Contributions to a Scholarship fund in Greggs name at Belleville High School or Arbor Hospice would be appreciated.

Rangos, Theodore V. Ted, Ypsilanti Township, MI

Age 69, passed away Thursday, October 28, 1999 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born December 28, 1929 in Augusta, GA, the son of Bill and Stella (Chopolas) Rangos.

Mr. Rangos was employed by Georgia-Pacific for 44 years, retiring in 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie; five children, Ruth (Pat) Pasfield of Redford Township, Jean (Gary) Timms of Travlers Rest, SC, Michael (Laura) Rangos of Rochester Hills, MI, Vicki Rangos of Ypsilanti and Paul (Debra) Rangos of Ypsilanti; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Nicholas Rangos of Aiken, SC.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 1999 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Rev. Keith Worrell of Forest Avenue Baptist Church officiating.

Cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

English, Verna Denise,

Verna Denise English was born on March 7, 1967 to the late Carlin Marshatt-English and Eulas McCoy.

She departed this life on Saturday, October 23, 1999.

She was a lifetime resident of the Ypsilanti area and attended the Ypsilanti Public Schools.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Dominique Marie English-Willis and David Earl Willis Jr.; two brothers, Lonnie English-Bey and Richard Benjamin English; aunts; uncles; and a host of cousins and friends.

Also a very special beloved friend, Joseph Halton and a special loved Aunt and a friend, Jacquelyn Holly.

Funeral services are scheduled for today, October 29, 1999 at Community Church of God, 965 Jefferson Street.

Family hour will be from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. with services immediately following.

Interment will follow at Norwood cemetery, Canton, MI. Rev. Fred Davis officiating.

Deacons, Edwin B., Greenville, MI

(formerly of Belleville, MI)

passed away October 16, 1999, at United Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Born November 15, 1914, in Sheridan, MI.

The son of John and Gladys Deacons.

Mr. Deacons worked at Ford Rawsonville as a mechanic for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Emaline (Courter) Deacons, and Lucille(Gilroy) Deacons; two sons, John Elmer Deacons, and Kerry G. Deacons; one brother, James F. Deacon; one granddaughter, Sheila Deacons; and one great grandson, Edwin E. Stark.

Surviving are his wife, Laura; one son, Buddy (Linda) Deacons of Sheridan; three daughters, Yvonne (Joe) Ottensman of Sheridan, MI., Sharon (Mike) Hammer of Phoenix, Az., Carol (Talmage) Hicks ofBelleville; and one daughter-in-law, Laura Deacons of Manchester, MI.; 24 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren.

Private family services were held Sunday, October 17, 1999 at Brown-Teman Funeral Home in Greenville.

Burial was at Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, MI.

Molnar, Martin A., Sanford, MI

Martin August Molnar, of Sanford, beloved father of Lawrence Allyn, Colleen Marguerite and Kenneth Martin, and adored grandfather of Kallen Miriam, Jordan Martin and Victoria Ashley, died Friday morning, October 29, 1999, at the Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor following a long battle with cancer.

Mr. Molnar was born in Bethlehem, Pa., on August 14, 1919.

He married Mildred Marguerite O'Connell in 1945 and had been a resident of Sanford since 1955.

Surviving him are three children and three grandchildren.

Mr. Molnar volunteered for duty with the U.S. Army immediately following the declaration of war with Germany and served five years active duty in the Army Air Corps.

From 1943 to 1945 he was stationed in China, India and Burma, where he flew 250 missions piloting C-47's in support of combat ground troops and in support of the Burma Road construction.

He was awarded the distinguished Flying Cross four times and the Army Flying Medal six times, along with many other service awards and decorations.

In 1945 he was honorably discharged from the Army, having attained the rank of Captain.

Early in World War II he was stationed for several months at Fort Custer in Battle Creek, where he met his future wife, Mildred, in 1941.

Following Army discharge at the end of World War II, Captain Molnar was reunited with his fiance, Captain Mildred O'Connell, who had also served five years active duty as an Army nurse in North Africa and Italy.

The two married on December 15, 1945, and had resided in East Lansing for several years while Mr. Molnar completed bachelor's and master's degree programs in mechanical engineering at Michigan State University.

At MSU he was a member of Pi Tau Sigma, the honorary mechanical engineering society and Tau Beta Pi, the honorary academic society.

In 1954, the Molnar's moved to their family farm in Sanford, where they have resided since.

Mr. Molnar's professional career spanned 29 years with The Dow Chemical Co., including 14 years as a research and development engineer in metallurgy and 15 years as a research and technical service engineer in plastics technology and he held many patents.

He was a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a member of several other professional organizations during his career with Dow Chemical Co.

Mr. Molnar also devoted many years of service to the Sanford Meridian School District, serving many years on the Meridian School Board, including a five-year term as president of the board during the late 1960's.

He was instrumental in consolidating the school district in the early 1960's including funding and construction of the first Meridian High School in 1968.

His community service activities also included a term as Jerome Township Clerk in the mid-1980's.

Following retirement from Dow Chemical in 1982, Mr. Molnar enjoyed several years as a practicing artistic blacksmith and was an active member in both state and national associations, including the Artist-Blacksmith's Association of North America (ABANA).

With his family, Mr. Molnar also enjoyed raising beef cattle, row crops and fruits and vegetables on his farm in Sanford.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Arbor Hospice Residence, Ann Arbor, MI.

Lyndon, Thomas Juleford, Cape Coral, FL

Formerly of Ann Arbor, MIAge 88, passed away at Cape Coral Hospital on October 27, 1999.

He was born in Ann Arbor, MI on April 27, 1911 to Julia and Alford S. Lyndon.

He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.

He was married for 58 years to his beloved wife, Audrey Talsma Lyndon.

She preceded him in death on December 31, 1994.

Mr. Lyndon is survived by his children: Thomas Juleford Lyndon, Jr. of Gaylord, MI, Barbara L. Brayl, of Ann Arbor, MI and Mary Jane (Manuel) Rodrigues, of Veracruz, Mexico.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Anthony Lyndon, Lisa (David) Bergman, Jennifer (Kurt) Szalay, Amy (Scott) Theisen, James and Wendy Brayl, Lilia, Laura and Alejandro Rodriguez; and his great-grandchildren: Heather, Kyle, Trent and Alexis. Dorothy L. Wilkins, sister; and Lucille T. Story, sister-in-law also survive.

A memorial service for Mr. Lyndon will be held on Monday, November 1, 1999 at 1 p.m. at St. Clare's Episcopal Church, 2309 Packard Rd., Ann Arbor, MI.

The Reverend Douglas Evett will officiate.
