Age 74, died Sunday, November 21, 1999 at the Saline Evangelical Home. Sister of Walter Correll and Florence Wanty of Milan. Graveside services were held 2:30 p.m. today at Marble Park cemetery, Milan. Arrangements by Ochalek-Stark Funeral Service.

Hart, James E., Troy, TN

(Formerly of Ypsilanti, MI)
Age 74, died in his home on November 16, 1999. He was a retired employee of Good Year Tire & Rubber Company. He was a drywall hanger while living in Ypsilanti from 1949 until about 1974. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He belonged to Masonic Lodge #13 in Ypsilanti. He was a member of Troy First Baptist Church, where he was an honorary deacon and taught Sunday school for many years. He married Christine Guy on September 28, 1945 and she survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Brenda C. (James) Perry of Ypsilanti, Jodi L. (Dick) McGeeof Union City, TN; three sons, James R. (Billie) Hart of Willis, MI, Steven G. Hart and Ernest J. Hart, both of Troy, TN; two sisters, Bethaline Arnold of Holly Springs, MS and Judy Wilson of Milwaukee, WI; 12 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

Stanton, Thomas Arthur, Ann Arbor

Age 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home with his family by his side. He was born at home in Ecorse, MI on March 18, 1928 the son of Frank and Kathleen (Heffernan) Stanton. Mr. Stanton pursued an electrical engineering degree, first attending the U of M and completing his education at the Detroit Institute of Technology. Tom joined the U.S. Navy and served for two years, then worked as an aviation electrician at Patuxent River, MD, Naval Airtest Center after the service. Mr. Stanton served his four-year apprenticeship under Dennis Caplis II, in Lincoln Park, MI, while attending night school. He worked nights at King Seeley and transferred to days after receiving his electrical engineering degree. Tom was especially proud of his son, Tom, for achieving his journeyman's and master electrician's licenses, and his daughter Cindy's achievements in the National Horse Jumping Competition and appearance at Madison Square Garden, as well as her business management successes and her fine family. He enjoyed his time spent working with apprenticeship programs and other related committees in the industry. He also enjoyed electrical work, dealing with customers, and other friends in the industry. He enjoyed having horses since he was 11 years old. Tom was a proud member of National Electrical Contractors Association and the Elks #325. He was also involved in several electrical engineering associations at the county, state and national levels. Most importantly, Tom would want everyone to remember to good days. He is survived by his wife Nancy; son, Thomas Michael; daughter, Cynthia Lorene (Doug) Woods and grandsons, James and Ryan Woods of Denver, CO; his sister, Dorothy Caplis; and brothers, Frank and Raymond (Bernith); many nieces and nephews; and several relatives in Canada. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Dennis Caplis; a sister-in-law, Phylis; and brother Fred. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 27 at St. Thomas Catholic Church. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL. Interment at Washtenong Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Arbor Hospice, St. Thomas Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice.

LaRue, B. Eloise, Charlevoix, MI

(Formerly of Saline)
Age 86, died November 23, 1999 at Glacier Hills in Ann Arbor. She was born January 17, 1913 in Bay Shore, MI, daughter of Nelson and Eleanor (Straw) Tillotson. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Saline and the First Congregational Church of Charlevoix. Mrs. LaRue was a Home Economics teacher in the Saline area for over 17 years retiring in 1973. She is survived by two sons, John N. (Roxann P.) LaRue of Longmont, CO, and Brian R. (Karen J.) LaRue of Manchester; two daughters, Joan K. (Gerald) Weaver of Kinsley, KS and Diane M. (William) Picotte of Hillsdale, MI; grandchildren, John F. LaRue, Jordan LaRue, Michelle McGuffin, Tracey LaRue, Chad LaRue, Ty Holborn, Chris Holborn, Josh Picotte and Nathan Picotte. She is also survived by sister, Lila Wieting of Wyoming, MI. She was preceded in death by husband, John M. LaRue, and two brothers, Donald and Clair Tillotson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 26, 1999 at 11 a.m. from the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix. Memorials may be made to the church, Charlevoix Historic Society or to the Parkinson's Foundation. Burial will take place in Brookside cemetery in Charlevoix. Horne, James Bernard, Ypsilanti Twp., MI

Age 36, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 21, 1999 at Oakwood Hospital Beyer Center. He was born April 4, 1963 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Willie and Eunice (Smith) Horne. On January 18, 1986, he was married to Cynthia Wright in Ypsilanti and she survives. He graduated from Willow Run High School where he played football. He continued his football career at Cahoma Junior College in Mississippi. Bernard worked for Maxey Boys Training School for10 years as a youth aide. He was a former member of Goodwill Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, his survivors include one daughter, Shikeeta; and two sons, Skylor and Travis, all at home; mother, Eunice Horne of Ypsilanti; one sister, Edna Smith of Ypsilanti; and three special nephews, Rome, Dee, and Harold. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 26, 1999 at St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church (561 Second Ave, Ypsilanti, 485-3505) with Rev. Joe Aridge and Rev. Johnny Swanson co-officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Horne children. Envelopes are available at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Thursday. The family hour will be10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Parravano, Elizabeth Ann (Moore), Dearborn, MI

Age 54, died November 23, 1999, at her home in Dearborn. Mrs. Parravano was born July 23, 1945 in Trenton, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, received her Bachelors of Art degree from Lone Mountain in San Francisco and her Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan in 1976. Mrs. Parravano was a Social Worker in the Harper Woods School District for 22 years. She belonged to the Detroit Denby Kiwanis Club, was the first woman usher at Sacred Heart Church and was on the Patient Advisory Council for the Karmanos Center. Mrs. Parravano battled breast cancer for six years, but she never let the cancer stop her, it only slowed her down. She had a list of 100 things she had to do and she was well on her way to accomplishing them. She took writing classes at Cranbrook Writers Retreat, art and pottery classes and did stand-up comedy at the Comedy Club. Mrs. Parravano loved to travel, some of her favorite trips were to Russia, Italy, Ireland, California, and to the Bucking Horse Sale in Miles City, Montana, which she attended several times. She had also taught graduate social work at Wayne State University. Mrs. Parravano was one of the first women to have a stem cell bone marrow transplant at Harper Hospital. She also raised over six thousand dollars through a quilt raffle to help women with low incomes to receive mammograms, and started an Alzheimer's Caregivers Support Group through Oakwood Commons. Mrs. Parravano always made plans for the future, she touched so many lives, but her family was her first love. Mrs. Parravano is survived by her daughters, Christine (Scott) Engel and Amy Parravano; son, Timothy Parravano; granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Engel; and mother-in-law, Ernestina Parravano. She is also survived by her brothers, James (Liz) Moore, and Gregory (Ellen) Moore; sister, Maureen (Larry) Wolohon; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday 2-9 p.m.Funeral at Sacred Heart Church, 22430 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Visiting begins 10 a.m. at the church. Interment in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Southfield. Willing, Richard G. "Dick",

Age 66, died Thursday, November 25, 1999 after a brief illness. He was born in Denver, CO on December 28, 1932, the son of Maurine and Otto Willing. He is survived by his wife of twenty four years, Deborah Willing; daughter, Stacy Willing of Milwaukee, WI; Steven (Carol) Willing of Encinitas, CA; and grandchildren, Linnea and Jacob. He was raised in San Fernando, CA and attended U.C.L.A. where he graduated with a degree in engineering and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. After graduation, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy at Subic Bay. He started his career with Microtech in California, and retired from federal Mogul Corporation in 1994 after thirty five years. His positions included Director of Research for the BCA division and U.S. Sales Manager for the Westwind division. Dick was an avoid woodworker, with favorite projects including furniture and model airplanes. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 28, 1 p.m., at the Dixboro United Methodist Church in Dixboro, MI. Arrangements by Muehlig Chapel.

Brown, Ventura Tory, Ann Arbor, MI

Born May 17, 1913 in Hamburg, MI to Edwin and Jennie Sawyer Shannon. On December 18, 1933 she married Howard C. Brown, he preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by two children, Patricia (Robert) Perry of Ann Arbor and Pete (Linda) Brown of Chelsea; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are three daughter-in-laws; Margaret Brown, Susan Anderson and Wanda Drake. She was preceded in death by her son Michael; and three brothers. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 10585 Hamburg Rd., Hamburg, MI Memorials are suggested to the St. Stephens Church. Arrangements by Muehlig Chapel.

Conard, Melvin D., Belleville, MI

Rozamus-Cardone, Anna, Ann Arbor, MI

Age 81, died Friday, November 26, 1999 at Saline Hospital. She was born March 26, 1918 in Pickford, MI, the daughter of Earl and Clara (Slater) Headley. Anna was united in marriage to Attilio S. Cardone (Ty) in 1939, he preceded her in death in 1979. She then married Colonel Walter Rozamus in 1983, he preceded her in death in 1986. Anna left home at the age of nine to work in Lumber Camps to facilitate her own education. She was a welder in WWII. Anna was the Executive Housekeeper at Webers where she retired in 1978. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was well known for organizing the spaghetti dinners to benefit the Lutheran Children's Friends Society. She was devoted to the Christian education of children. She volunteered at a home for unwed mothers in Bradenton, FL, where she lived for 18 years, and belonged to the Women's Republican Club. Anna is survived by her children, Wesley (Mary) Cardone of Chelsea, Linda Cardone of Manchester, NH, and Kathleen (Robert) Holmes of Chichester, NH; grandchildren, Lieutenant Michael Hauschen of Port Richie, FL, Jennifer Osborne of Coxes Creek, KY, Kalisa Hauschen of Bards Town, KY, and Joshua Cardone of Chelsea; son- in-law Larry Hauschen; and sister Georgia Arndt of Ann Arbor. She was preceded in death by her daughter Phyllis Hauschen; and sister Frances Terry. The funeral services to welcome her home will be held Wednesday, December 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor. Interment will be in Arborcrest cemetery. The family will receive visitors at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Those wishing may make contributions to Cornerstone Christian Academy in Epsom, NH.

Jenkins, Evelyn Shirley Lynn, Ann Arbor, MI

Age 75, died Wednesday, November 24, 1999. Mrs. Jenkins is survived by her husband of 46 years, Phil Jenkins; Daughter Lee Ann Tracey; son, Richard Scott Slee and her many grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on December 11, 1999 at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4001 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Charity of donor's choice.

Morgan, Ruth, Ypsilanti Twp, MI

Age 75, died Saturday, November 27, 1999 at the Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born July 21, 1924 in Augusta, GA, the daughter of William and Phoebe (Meachum) Merriweather and on May 9, 1973 she married Odell Morgan in Ann Arbor. Mrs. Morgan retired from the University Hospitals in 1984 where she had worked as a secretary for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Elks Club of Ann Arbor. She is survived by her husband Odell; her daughter and son-in-law, Phoebe and David and their children, Alisha and Daniel; two sisters, Ruby Stewart and Margaret Monore, both of Ypsilanti. She was preceded in death by her parents and her four brothers. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Envelopes are available at the NIE FUNERAL HOME, 2400 Carpenter Rd., where the family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday.The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Jerry Vincke, Celebrant. Private burial to follow in Fairview cemetery

DeSmyther, Anitra, Chelsea, MI

Age 85, died Sunday, November 28, 1999. Mrs. DeSmyther is survived by her son, Gale DeSmyther and four grandchildren. Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 1 at Cole Funeral Chapel. Visitation 7-9pm Monday, 2-4 and 7-9pm Tuesday.

Kruse, Anthony R., Chelsea, MI

Age 59, died Sunday, November 28, 1999 in the woods where he loved to be. He was born April 1, 1940 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Anthony R. and Lavonne M. (Kruse) Zalewski. Tony had lived in the Chelsea area for the past 30 years, coming from Pinckney. He played football and wrestled for Ann Arbor High School. He loved to hunt and to be out-of-doors. His garden and flowers were a favorite pastime. He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1963. In 1996, he retired from the DANA corporation in Chelsea after 30 years of service. On March 12, 1966 he was married to Verna M. Holben in Howell and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Lavonne (Jon) Carey of Manchester, Cheri (Sean) LaTour of Chelsea; one brother, David W. Kruse of Delaware; and three grandchildren. Anthony never knew his mother, she died while giving birth to him. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 2 from Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea with the Rev David Cleaver-Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove East cemetery Expressions of sympathy can be made to Michigan Cancer Society, or Michigan Wildlife Association. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9. Arrangements by John W. Mitchell Family Funeral Home, Chelsea
