Mr. Dailey was born December 5, 1927 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lish Dailey of Louiseville. He departed this life on December 3, 1999 at 8:45 p.m. at Bortz Continual Care Facility. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucille's Funeral Home, Ypsilanti. Funeral services at 11 a.m. at Community Church of God, 565 Jefferson.

Person, Leola, Aliquippa, PA

Mother of Dr. Deloisteen Brown. Age 98, departed this life on Saturday,November 13, 1999 in the Golfview Manor Nursing Home, Aliquippa, PA. She was on born May 12, 1901 in Franklin, GA, a daughter of the late George and Annie Wilkinson. She had worked as a cook for most of her life at the Vanderslice Nursing Home, Edgeworth. She was the oldest member of Triedstone Baptist Church, Aliquippa, and had been a member since 1945. She was the mother of the church and also had been a member of the Deaconess Board and the Missionary Society. Cherishing precious memories of Mother Person is her son and daughter-in-law, Conrad and Lillie Person, Hookstown; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Mildred Person,Margaret Bass and Annice Lay, all of Aliquippa, Carol and Clarence Givens, Spokane, WA and Deloisteen and Lorenzo Brown of Saline, MI; 15 grand children; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mother Person was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Person in 1952, one brother and four sisters. Memorial contributions accepted by Triedstone Baptist Church-Senior Programs, 505 Washington St., Aliquippa, PA 15001, Attn: Rev. JL Cherry.

Lyons, Rosie L., Ypsilanti, MI

Age 66, passed away on December 5, 1999 at Bortz Nursing Home. She was born April 26, 1933 in Dumas, AK, the daughter of Julius H. and Rosie Bell Wynn-Hughes and they survive. Also surviving are four daughters; two sons; a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Thursday at Lucille's Funeral Home. Family hour will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at St. James C.O.G.I.C. with funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, December 10 at the church with Elder Melvin Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park.

Schuyler, Raymond "Sugar Ray",

Mr. Raymond Schuyler was born on December 31, 1924 in Lockport, New York to the union of the late Walter and Mattie Schuyler. Raymond was a dedicated servant in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. He later moved to Ypsilanti where was a resident for over 25 years. He worked for the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor,retiring after thirteen years of service. Raymond, known as Sugar Ray to his close friends and family, departed this life suddenly Thursday, December 2, 1999. He leaves to cherish his memory a special friend, Lucille Evans of Ypsilanti. He is survived by one daughter, Rosemary Jackson, three grandchildren, Phillip, Missy and Rosemarie Jackson, and a great-granddaughter, Megan, all of Akron, OH; two sisters, Marion Schulyer and Jane Dingman, both of Medina, NY. He also leaves to cherish a close friend he called his son, Robert Evans of Ypsilanti, MI and those he called his grandchildren, Desiree ***, Lisa Smith, Douglas Smith, Tina Jones, Sharee Smith, Breanna Smith, Megan Smith, Crystal Smith, Tionna Griffin, all of Ypsilanti, MI; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends who cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Gerald and Harold Schuyler. To know Sugar Ray was to love him. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Dear Sugar Ray, No more pain and no more sleepless nights. God has called you home to rest, you survived and won the fight.There is no one like you, you were one of a kind.The pride and joy you shared will forever shine. The Tears we shed are tears of joy, you filled our hearts with laughter and filled an empty void.You won the fight, yes indeed. Now rest Sugar Ray, 'til we meet again! Lopez, Robert J., Flint, MI

Age 77, passed away Friday, December 3, 1999 at Saginaw V.A. Hospital. Arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison, Flint, MI. Snell, Ruth Jeanette, Zeeland, MI

(Formerly of Whitmore Lake)
Age 85, passed away Sunday morning, December 5, 1999 at the Zeeland Community Hospital. She was born on October 7, 1914 in Highland Park, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Embach) Eberhardt. On February 8, 1942 she married Vincent Snell in Highland Park, moving to Whitmore Lake shortly after. Mr. Snell preceded her in death in 1979. Ruth was a graduate of Nazareth College, Kalamazoo and was a member of Old St. Patrick Catholic Church, Northfield Township. She had also been a member of the Whitmore Lake Women's Club and the Altar Society of the Church. Prior to her retirement in 1976, Mrs. Snell had been a teacher for the Whitmore Lake Schools for 25 years. Prior to teaching in Whitmore Lake, she had been a teacher for the Rochester Michigan School System. Surviving are one son, David (Sharon) Snell of Traverse City; one daughter, Kathleen Verdeveld of Zeeland; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 1999 from Old St. Patrick Catholic Church, Northfield Township. Interment will follow at Old St. Patrick Catholic cemetery. Marble, Susan M., Dexter, MI

Age 43, passed away December 3, 1999. Survived by two sisters, Patricia Marble and Nancy Collins; her two brothers, David and Robert Marble. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Frank and Lenore and her sister, Lynda. Susan had worked at the Red Bull Restaurant in Ann Arbor and Reinhart Realty. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 1999 at 3 p.m. at the St. Andrew's United Church of Christ in Dexter. Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society. Arrangements by the HOSMER-MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL.

Lavender, Frederick J., Howell, MI

Spitz-Nagel, Rev. Dr. Lynn E., Chelsea, MI

Age 60, died suddenly on Monday,December 6, 1999 in his home. He was born September 5, 1939 in Rochester, New York, the son of Dr. Edward L. and Adeline (Bareis) Spitz-Nagel. Spitz has been the minister at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Chelsea since 1994, and he previously served at Faith Church in Matteson, IL (1982-94) and Trinity Church in Northport, MI (1977-82). He was a counselor at Samaritan Counseling Services in Ann Arbor, and had also worked as a counselor in NY and at Ypsilanti State Hospital. Spitz earned his BA from Kalamazoo College in 1961, his MSW from MSU in 1963, and went on to earn both his M.Div from Eaton Seminary in 1976 & a D.Min from Graduate Theological Foundation in 1991. Spitz was active in Chelsea, and he served on the Faith in Action Board, United Way, Rotary, and the CROP Walk, in addition to being a Past President of the Chelsea Ministerial Fellowship. He was passionate about running, sailing and Abbott & Costello Movies. On December 15, 1962 he married Lynn L. Larkin in St. Joseph, MI and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Eric (Kelly) of Los Angeles, CA and Mark (Amy) of New York City; his cousins, Terry and Sue Moris of Dexter, Phyllis Moris of FL; and his dog, Pepper. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 9, 4 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Chelsea, with Rev. Dr. David Cleaver - Bartholomew officiating. Burial will be in Omena cemetery, Leelanau County MI. The family will receive friends at COLE FUNERAL CHAPEL 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church 3-4 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Bell Choir.

Cummings, Earl A., Melbourne Beach, FL

Age 84, died Saturday, December 4, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Irene. Loving father of Phillip (Bernice) of Ypsilanti, Sheryl (Michael) Pickett of Westland, MI, Janis Cummings of Dexter, MI, and William Cummings of Vancouver, WA. Dearest grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 11. Beloved fiance of Norma Goodrich of Melbourne Beach, FL. He is also survived by a brother, Jim Cummings of Mountain View, MS. Interment 2 p.m. Thursday at Riverside cemetery, Plymouth, MI. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main, Plymouth.

Roper, Edward A., Ann Arbor, MI

Age 56, died December 1, 1999.Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 10 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE with burial in Highland cemetery. Visitation 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the family hour from 12 Noon-1 p.m.

Allen, Anna C. Way, Ann Arbor, MI

Age 96, departed this life on Saturday, December 11, 1999 at Riverview of Ann Arbor where she had resided for the past eight years. She was born in Evart, MI on September 9, 1903, the daughter of Delos Way and Mary Schoenhals Way. On September 11, 1920, she married Harold Allen in Toledo, OH. They lived in Ann Arbor, and raised their family of four. Anna was a member of the Church at Platt from shortly after the depression until the 1940's. While attending there she taught a Sunday School class and played the piano for church services. Anna had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Ann Arbor for over 53 years. She was honored for this accomplishment at the church on August 29, 1999. She had also taught a kindergarten Sunday school class for over 25 years. In November of 1962, she retired from the University of Michigan; she was an employee of Stockwell Hall, where she worked in the cafeteria serving students their meals. Anna is survived by daughter, Doris Mae Strite (Donald) of Ann Arbor; son, James H. Allen (Dorothy) of Westland; eleven grandchildren, Leanne Cowen (William) of Westland, Marlene Slowiak (John) of Garden City, Cheri Lynn Cooper of Fenton, Deborah Custer (Richard) of Charlevoix, Bonnie Marvin (James) of Pinckney, Phillip Hollister of Howell, Kirk Hollister, Joyce Ann Zeneberg (Thomas) of Higgins Lake, Kent Strite (Linda) Mount Lake Terrace, WA, Janet Salinas (Jose) of Saginaw and Jon Strite (Janet Sue) of Ann Arbor. In addition, she had twenty-one great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; two step great-grandsons and one step great-great-grandson;as well as several very special and devoted nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff at Riverview and Arbor Hospice, and the many friends for the caring and love they have shown over the years. Anna was preceded in death by her parents;her husband Harold (8/79); daughter, Mary Ann Walker; son, Alfred Ray Allen; sisters, Hazel Way, Ethel Way, Gertrude Hennings, Jessie Fontaine, Josephine Woods; brothers, Kenneth Way, Claude Way, Robert Way, Delos (Billy) Way, Jr.; and great-grandson, Mario P. Salinas (12/12/98). Visitation Monday from 11 a.m.-12 Noon at Muehlig's Funeral Chapel with the service at First Baptist Church of Ann Arbor at 2 p.m. Monday, December 13 with Minister Alan Brehm officiating. Internment to follow at Washtenong Memorial Park and Mausoleum.Reception immediately follows the internment in the Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church. Rolfe, Alice, Lake Havasu, AZ

(Formerly of Ann Arbor, MI)
Age 87, died November 19, 1999 in Lake Havasu, AZ. She was united in marriage to Maynard Rolfe in 1932; he preceded her in death in 1972. She was a graduate of St. Thomas High School. Alice worked at Ameritech (Michigan Bell) for 37 years. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, the Telephone Pioneers of America, and the Ladies of the Moose. She is survived by her son, Thomas Rolfe of Lake Havasu, AZ; her granddaughter, Susan (Jeff) Harrah; two great- grandchildren, Hannah and Zack; brother, Charles Hession; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 15 at 1:30 p.m. at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL with Fr. Dwight Ezop officiating.
