Kruger, Dwight S. Pete, Belleville, MI

Age 73, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born May 16, 1926 in Flushing, MI, the son of the late Ernest Albert and Violet May (Delaney) Kruger.

Mr. Kruger was a member of September Days and M.A.R.S.P. and was employed by Van Buren Public Schools for 18 years before his retirement.

He is survived by his three sisters, Erna (George) LaMothe of Inkster, Dorothy Belsire and June Roberts, both of Belleville; one sister-in-law, Esther Kruger of Kalamazoo; and one brother, Cecil (Carole) Kruger of Cadillac; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kruger was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Rev. Frank O. Kruger.

Funeral service Saturday 11 a.m.at DAVID C. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 460 E. Huron River Drive., Belleville, MI, with Rev. Robert J. White officiating.

Interment, Hillside cemetery, Belleville.

Visitation today from 1-9 p.m.

Memorial contributions to Hospice of Washtenaw or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Vincent, Cecil G., Ashford, CT

(Formerly of Ann Arbor, MI)
Age 89, a retired machinist, died on February 18, 2000 in the Harrington Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Vincent was also a YMCA swimming instructor in Hyde Park, MA and Ann Arbor, MI and a counselor at the Red Cross in Corpus Christi, TX.

He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force at Prince George, British Columbia.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he attended Boston University and graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's in education.

Husband of the late Arloa L. (Esic) Vincent, he is survived by two sons, Gilbert Vincent of Reynoldsburg, OH and Wesley Vincent of Eastford, CT; four daughters, Harriet Walker and Laurene Embree of Weymouth, MA, Averill Brown of Northridge, CA and Gladys Anderson of Ashford, CT; a sister, Ruby Phillips of Arlington, MA; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Funeral service was held on February 24, 2000 at the Westford Hill Congregational Church, Ashford, CT.

Burial was on February 25 in Island Pond cemetery, Harwich, MA.

Arrangements were handled by Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA.

Donations may be made to your local YMCA or Visiting Nurse Association.

Fulbright, Fred, Ann Arbor, MI

Age 79, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Mr. Fulbright was born on February 20, 1921 in Wynnewood, OK, the son of Arlee and Mary Fulbright.

On May 3, 1969 he married Annie B. Thomas.

Fred retired from the City of Ann Arbor, Parks and Recreation Dept.

He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Ann Arbor and he was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Annie; his children, Peter Jamison, Daniel Thomas, Gregory Harris, Fred (Valerie) Fulbright, Marcus (Sheila) Harris, Freda Fulbright, and Susan Fulbright; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and dear friends, Ima Jean Ethington of Ann Arbor and Wylie Wright of AL.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and by four sisters.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 900 John A. Woods Dr, Ann Arbor with the Rev. Alfred Johnson presiding.

Family hour 10 a.m. until time of service.

Friends may call at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Interment at Fairview cemetery.

Mr. Fulbright's family would like to especially thank the staff at U of M Hospital and Select Specialty Care at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for their wonderful service during this trying time.

Kerner, LaVerne T. "Lev", Ypsilanti, MI

Age 85, died Thursday, March 16, 2000 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a short illness.

He was born January 14, 1915, in Ypsilanti, the son of Peter and Julia (Livernois) Kerner.

He married Imelda C. Liptow on September 3, 1938 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wyandotte, MI and she survives.

Mr. Kerner was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ypsilanti where he was baptized and confirmed, and was also a member of the Leisure Club.

He was employed with the Ypsilanti Fire Department, retiring in June of 1973 after 30 years of service.

Mr. Kerner will always be remembered for the great love he had for his family and sports.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three children, Thomas P. (Sue) Kerner of Ypsilanti; Rev. Terrence D. Kerner of Monroe, and Diane I. (Nick) Babo of Ypsilanti; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Cathy) Kerner, Michael A. Kerner, Angela K. Babo and Nick Babo, all of Ypsilanti; one great-granddaughter, Kendra Kerner; one sister, Permilla Wideman; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, J.O. Bud Kerner; and one sister, Pearl Wagner.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be Celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2000 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ypsilanti with his son, Fr. Terrence D. Kerner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monroe, as Celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. John Catholic cemetery, Ypsilanti.

Contributions in his memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ypsilanti.

Envelopes will be available at JANOWIAK FUNERAL HOME, GEER-LOGAN CHAPEL where the family will receive friends Saturday 6-9 p.m. and Sunday 3-9 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. and at the Church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Conley, Leora, Chelsea, MI

Age 91, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2000 at Arbor Hospice, Ann Arbor.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 18, 2000 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph cemetery in Dexter, MI.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the St. Louis School or St. Mary Catholic Church.

Friends may call at church Saturday from 10 a.m. till time of service.

Howe, Georgia P., (Formerly of Chelsea, MI)

Age 92, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2000 at Bedford Elderly Care Facility.

She was born August 2, 1908 in Star City, IN, the daughter of George and Bertha (Kochel) Latimer.

She had lived in the Chelsea area since 1937, moving from Stockbridge.

She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church of Chelsea as well as the altar society.

On January 9, 1937 she married Robert T. Howe, and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, John E. Howe of Petersburg, MI and Kurt Howe of Ann Arbor; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; also a sister, Ileen (Bud) Myer of Stockbridge; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gurson Latimer and Melvin Latimer; two sisters, Olive McGauley and Bessie Reynolds; and her daughter-in-law, Sherry Howe.

Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2000, 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church of Chelsea, with Rev. Dr. William Turner officiating.

Burial will follow at Mount Olivet cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.

Collica, Raffaela M. "Lil", Ann Arbor, MI

Age 82, died Saturday, September 30, 2000 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Lil was born on March 8, 1918 in Detroit, daughter of Salvatore and Barbara Porcaro.

She retired from Chrysler in 1980 after 41 years of devoted service.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Ann Arbor and the Women of the Moose Lodge #890 of Ann Arbor, where she helped run the Monday afternoon bingo.

She enjoyed knitting and playing cards with her Thursday afternoon card group and Pinochle on Wednesday at the Grotto.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Don) Haywood of Chelsea, MI; her granddaughter, Erin M. (Jared) Throneberry; special friends, Helen and Norm Grob; sisters-in-law, Bea, Mary Jane, Toni, Ronnie and Hilda; brother-in-law, Stan; friends, Julie and Madelyn from church; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Collica.

The family extends a special thank you to neighbors, Dave Burgess and Guy Hurlbutt; and to the nursing staff at St. Joe's Hospital and Dr. Ron Sanda for special care.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 3, 10:30 a.m. at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL in Ann Arbor.

The family will receive visitors Monday 6-9 p.m.

Entombment at Mt. Olivet cemetery on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Cancer or Diabetes Association.

McKinney, Anna Doris, Ann Arbor, MI

Age 82, died Thursday, September 28, 2000.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 4 at New Hope Baptist Church, Ann Arbor, where the family hour will begin at 10 a.m.

Arrangements by Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel.
