Hatch, Aileen L., Ann Arbor, MI

Age 77, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 1, 2000.

She was born October 10, 1922 in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Chancey and Florence (Davenport) Dettling.

She lived in the area all of her life.

She retired from Lawyer's Title and was also a bookkeeper for University Aquarium, which was owned by her daughter.

She loved working on the computer, enjoyed playing music, and most of all loved her family.

She is survived by six daughters, Karen Mueller of Charlotte, Kathy Hatch and Debbie Fogale, both of Gregory, Linda (Ernie) Schenk of Escanaba, Nancy Lawrence and Donna Hatch, both of Ann Arbor; two sons, Terry (Kelly) Hatch of Chelsea and Ricky Hatch of Ann Arbor; two sisters, Lucille Holtz of Ann Arbor and Marion Towsley of Perry; fifteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Maurice Dettling.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000 from the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea.

Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Arbor Hospice or Michigan Cancer Foundation.

Adams, Belle (Warren), Ypsilanti Twp., MI

Age 79, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 30, 2000.

She was born August 4, 1921 in Hydrick, KY the daughter of Chad and Bammie (Smith) Warren.

On April 14, 1946 she married C.C. Adams and he survives.

Mrs. Adams was employed at G.M. Fisher Body, Livonia Plant from 1955-66.

She attended Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in Ypsilanti.

She is also survived by three sons, H.C. Lawson of Kentucky, Floyd Preston (Mary) Adams of Ypsilanti and John Cecil (Patricia) Adams of Milan, MI; three daughters, Juanita (Tim) Banks of Canton, MI, Opal (Loyal) Hubbard of Kentucky, Brenda (Todd) Nunley of Ypsilanti; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Warren of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Edward Lawson.

The funeral service will be11 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Calvin Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Caldwell, John T., Ypsilanti Township, MI

Age 84, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2000.

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 19, 1916 to the late Theodore and Elsie (Nash) Caldwell.

Beloved husband of the late Josephine Caldwell.

John is survived by four children, Jean (Richard) Fied of Pittsburgh, PA, John T. Caldwell Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, JoAnn (Solomon) Atkinson of Metlakatla, AK, and William J. Caldwell of Ypsilanti, MI; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Clifford Caldwell of Adrian, MI and Dale Caldwell of Virginia Beach, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

John served honorably in the US Marine Corp during WWII and received the Purple Heart.

He moved to Ypsilanti from Pittsburgh in 1958 and retired from GM Diesel in 1978.

He was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, and a former member of the DAV.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Husse, Catherine M., Ypsilanti, MI

Age 86, died Sunday, October 1, 2000 at the Gilbert Residence.

She was born May 9, 1914 in Carleton, MI, the daughter of Clarence and Barbara (Kramer) Theisen.

On October 27, 1945 she married Lawrence R. Husse, and he survives.

Catherine was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for 55 years, where she was also a member of the Altar Society.

For many years Catherine volunteered at the voting polls.

She loved playing the piano, sewing and gardening.

Also surviving are four children, Karen (Donald) House of Milan, Denis (Jill) Husse of Fenton, Kenneth (Belinda) Husse of Milan and Robert (Kimi) Husse of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren, Scott (Carrie), Chad (Carol), Ryan, Kendra, Adam, Darren, Chelsea, Heather and Matthew; two great-grandchildren, Jadon and Kelli; two sisters, Anna Mae Weber of Melvindale, MI and Helen (Robert) Root of Carleton, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Norbert, Donald Theisen.

Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Edmond Ertzbischoff celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. John cemetery.

Memorials in honor of Catherine may be made to Gilbert Residence, Hospice of Washtenaw or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Renovation Fund.

Envelopes are available at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel where family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday, and 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service.

There will be a wake service 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Walker, Shirley Ann, Howell, MI

Age 34, died Saturday, September 30, 2000.

Visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday with funeral service to be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at MacDonald's Funeral Home, Howell. 517-546-2800

Campbell, Carmen M. (Porter), Bradenton, FL

Formerly of Howell & Pinckney, MI
Age 87, died September 29, 2000.

She was born November 30, 1912 in Berry County, MI, the daughter of John and Viola (Culver) Norris.

She married Harold A. Porter on September 22, 1934 in Martin, MI and he preceded her in death on January 19, 1995.

She then married Merwin W. Campbell on March 15, 1996 in Bradenton, FL, he survives.

Mrs. Campbell was a life member of Order of the Eastern Star, Pinckney Chapter #145.

Survivors include her husband, Merwin; son, James (Marilyn) Porter of Sebring, FL; daughter, Jolaine Rolston of Tecumseh, MI; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Fern Cutler of Galesburg, MI.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Fred Rolston; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; and a brother and sister.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1 p.m. at the MacDonald's Funeral Home, 315 N. Michigan Ave., Howell (517-546-2800).

Visitation Monday 1-7 p.m. with an Eastern Star Memorial Service 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Order of the Eastern Star, Pinckney Chapter #145.

Luenser, Ruth Maria, Chelsea, MI

Age 84, passed away at Cedar Knoll Care Facility on Saturday, September 30, 2000.

She was born April 19, 1916 in Lima Township, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Mullen) Barth.

She lived in the Chelsea area all her life, and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Chelsea.

Mrs. Luenser is survived by one brother, Harold Barth and two sisters, Virginia Williams and Dorothy Hellner, all of Chelsea; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo C. Luenser; and two brothers, Carl Barth, and Robert Barth.

Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church of Chelsea, with the Rev. Dr. William Turner officiating.

Burial will follow at Mount Olivet cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Tandy, Adella May, Chelsea, MI

Age 98, died September 21, 2000 at her son's home.

She was born on May 15, 1902 in Bay City, MI, the daughter of Rev. Harvey G. and Emma (Buhl) Pearce.

She was a member of the Ft. Myers United Methodist Church and North Lake United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, John Tandy of Chelsea and James Tandy of Dearborn; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie M. Tandy in 1950; one brother and two sisters.

Memorial service will be Sunday, October 15, 2000 at 2 p.m. at North Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Hawley officiating.

Burial will be at the North Lake cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the North Lake United Methodist Church.

Wardrop, Irene E., Ypsilanti, MI

Age 91, passed away on Thursday evening, September 28, 2000 at the Gilbert residence, where she had made her home for the past 20 years.

Miss Wardrop was born on June 26, 1909 in Amesbury, Massachusetts, the daughter of Robert Burns and Elizabeth (Anderson) Wardrop.

She taught kindergarten and first grade in Amesbury, MA, before moving to Ypsilanti in 1954.

She was employed at Faber's Fabrics in Ypsilanti and Arborland Mall, and was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ypsilanti.

Surviving are nephews: Andrew Wardrop, Rick Wardrop, Bobby Wardrop, Raymond Wardrop; and nieces, Jeanne Brown and Kathryn Rickard.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers; Robert and Ramsey Wardrop; and a sister; Maizie Wardrop.

A committal of cremains will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at the Memorial Garden of the First Presbyterian Church of Ypsilanti and a Celebration of her Life will be held 11:30 a.m. at the Gilbert Residence, 203 S. Huron St, Ypsilanti.

Memorial tributes may be made in Miss Wardrop's honor to the First Presbyterian Church of Ypsilanti or the Gilbert Residence.
