- Of Flint, age 72, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1:30PM today at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Lawrence W. Kent officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills cemetery.

KYSER, Elmer (Bud) Jr.

- Of Mundy Township, age 71, died Thursday, February 18, 1999 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Monday, February 22, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jerry W. Pruett officiating. Burial in Crestwood cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice Care Center or Davison Full Gospel Church. Visitation 4-9PM Saturday and 1-4 and 6-9PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Kyser was born in Flint, Michigan on November 9, 1927 and was a resident of the Mundy Township and Flint area all of his life. He married Mary J. Gaines on August 11, 1951 in Flint. He was a member of the Isaac Walter League. Mr. Kyser was employed by Chevrolet V-8 Engine for 27 years, retiring in April of 1991; prior to that he worked at Glen Roys Hardware for many years. Surviving are his wife, Mary; special nephew, Dennis H. and wife Ruby Hosmer and daughter, Amy of Flint; sister, Daisy Ann and husband Edwrd Schack of Burton; nephew, Ed and wife Jennifer Schack and their 4 children. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Catherine (Katie) Hosmer in 1992, Betty M. Kyser in 1996 and brother, Gerald W. in 1998.

MILLER, Minnie D.

- Of Goodrich, age 86, died Thursday, February 18, 1999 at Genesys Hospice Center, Goodrich. Funeral service will be held 11AM Monday, February 22, 1999 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5245 Hadley Rd. Pastor John Schrieber officiating. Burial in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 1-4 and 6-9PM Saturday and 12-4 and 6-9PM Sunday. Mrs. Miller will lie in state at the church from 9:30AM Monday until time of service. Mrs. Miller was born in St. Charles Twp., MI, January 18, 1913 the daughter of Herman Frederick and Matilda Augusta (Schmiege) Kuagenbrink. She resided in the Goodrich area her entire. Mrs. Miller was joined in marriage to Raymond Miller, May 28, 1938 and he preceded her in death May 1988. She was a life member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and she will be remembered for her love of church, quilting and gardening. Mrs. Miller was employed by Goodrich General Hospital until its closing, then was employed by Wheelock Memorial Hospital until retiring in 1976. Surviving are: son, Dale and wife Denise Miller of Goodrich; granddaughter, Leslie and husband Tony Cicalo of Genesee Twp. and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and parents. Contributions may be made in her memory to the church or Genesys Hospice.

BARKEY, Walter J.

- Of Gulfport, FL, formerly of Flint and Flushing, age 79, died Monday, February 15, 1999 in Florida. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 12noon today at Rossell Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Flint Institute of Music or the Genesee County Bar Foundation.

MOTT, Edna May

- Age 81, of Fenton, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM today at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Pastor Robert Berkey officiating. Interment in Oakgrove cemetery, Milford. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

NEUFFER, Maureen

- Kindest, most caring mother who will be sadly missed by her 2 sons, of Grand Blanc, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 15, 1999. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday, February 23, 1999 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Interment at Evergreen cemetery. Visitation from 2- 4 and 6-8 PM Sunday and Monday at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, where a vigil service will be prayed 7PM Monday evening.

O'CONNOR, William J. "Bill"

- Of Flushing, age 79, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be held 9:30AM Saturday, February 20, 1999 at St. Robert Catholic Church, Fr. Nicholas Ritter officiating. Burial will follow at Flushing cemetery.

PERAINO, Andrea

- Of Clio, age 74, died Thursday, February 18, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 22, 1999 at SS Charles & Helena Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Gerald Ploof officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Whipple-O'Guinn Family Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary service being held at 7 p.m. Mr. Peraino will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Andrea was born March 24, 1924 in Italy, the son of Andrea and Serafina (Aiuto) Peraino. He had resided in the Clio area since 1972. Andrea married Vita Adragna October 27, 1951 in Italy. He was employed with Chevrolet Manufacturing for 311/2 years, retiring in 1987. Andrea was a member of St. Charles & Helena Catholic Church and a former member of Sons of Italy. Surviving are: wife, Vita; sons, Rocco Peraino of Clio, Paul and wife Robin Peraino of Flint, Andrew Peraino of Clio, Nick and wife Heidi Peraino of Burton; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Paul and wife Jennifer, Bradley and Andrew, all of Flint, and Nicolo of Burton; great-granddaughter, Aubrey; several nieces and nephews. Andrea was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine and brothers, Philip Sr., Rocco and Gerolom of Sicily.

MILLER, Mrs. Kathleen (Jarrett)

- Age 89, passed away Saturday, February 6, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 from Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church, 731 E. Hamilton St., Flint, Rev. Ernest Girley officiating. Interment RiverRest cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10:30 a.m., at which time the family will receive friends. Mrs. Miller now reposes in the Chapel of the Swanson Funeral Home and may be viewed. Kathleen H. ( Jarrett) Miller was born June 14, 1909 in Springfield, MO and had been a resident of Flint for over 50 years. She was a member of Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star, Rose Marie Chapter #33, Golden Age Senior Citizens Choir, Hasselbring Community Center Choir, Sheba Lodge, Jericho Lodge, Ladies Night Lodge, Grasshopper Club, Widowers Club. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Walter Abernathy; extended family, Glen (Glayds) Miller, Duane (Rita) Miller, Vernon (Ruth) Miller, LaMar Miller, Leon (Willie Mae) Miller, Bettie Westbrook, Bessie Brown, all of Flint, Lottie Marshall, Mattie Young, Delores Kennedy, all of Evanston, IL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; special friends, Mrs. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Housley, Mrs. Susie Green, Mrs. Margarite Pea, and members of Hasselbring Center. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by beloved husband Benonia Miller; parents, Walter and Mabel Jarrett; 1 sister, Elizabeth Anderson; 1 brother, James Brown; 2 granddaughters; 1 step granddaughter; 1 step grandson.

REDFERN, Norma J. "Pat"

- Of Grand Blanc, age 70, passed away, Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 1999 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Rev. T.I. Redfern officiating. Interment at Evergreen cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.

SOMERS, Gladys A. (McLain)

- Age 83, of Grand Blanc, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. today.

RAY, Keith A.

- Of Burton, age 44, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 1999 in Lakeland, Florida. Funeral services will be 11AM Monday, February 22, 1999 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Dr. James E. Tuttle and Mr. Al Miller officiating. Interment at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9PM Saturday 2-4 and 6-9PM Sunday. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Keith was born in Flint March 23, 1954, a son to Harold and Helen (Threlkeld) Ray and lived in Burton his entire life. He was a 1972 graduate of Atherton High School. He served in the United States Navy in the early 1970's. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Keith had been employed at Pontiac Truck & Bus and most recently at 11 Mile Truck Frame & Axle in Madison Heights. He is survived by: his father, Harold W. Ray of Big Spring, TX; 2 brothers, Kevin and wife Cynthia Ray, Kelly Ray and Deidra, all of Lakeland, FL; sister, Kathi and husband Steve Bringman of Fort Myers, FL; nephew, Jason Ray and a niece, Jennell Ray, both of Lakeland, FL; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen in 1989.

CONNER, John A.

- Of Davison, passed away in Midland Friday, February 19, 1999 at the age of 78. Funeral services will be held 2PM Monday, February 22, 1999 at the Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 2-5PM Sunday. He was born in Painesdale, Michigan to Richard and Gladys (Salvo) Conner. John moved to Davison at the age of 17 and worked for Buick Motor Company for 32 years. He is survived by: sister, Judy Hipke of Bay City, MI; 2 nieces, Carol Smith of Midland, Wendy Dominowski of Bay City; 2 nephews, Richard Ogden of Bay City, Elliot Ogden of Clermont, Florida. Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his father and mother.

BURLINGAME, Esther M.

- Of Flint, age 79, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Saturday, June 5, 1999 at the East Flint Church of the Nazarene, 3515 North Belsay Road in Flint, Pastor Daryl L. Blank officiating. Burial in Fairview cemetery in Linden. Those desiring may make contributions to the East Flint Church of the Nazarene. Visitation 5-9PM Thursday and 11AM-3PM and 5-9PM Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Burlingame will be at the church from 10AM until the time of the service on Saturday. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on April 11, 1920 and married Arthur Burlingame on January 31, 1942 in Flint. She was a member of East Flint Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Mrs. Burlingame was a registered nurse for Dr. L. Michael and retired from McLaren Regional Medical Center. Surviving are her husband, Arthur; daughter, Deborah and husband John Moore of Flint; grandchildren, Lisa and husband Josh Sytek of Davison, Steve Atwell of Davison, Christopher, Amy and Elisabeth Atwell of Flint, Erin and Mallori Malloch of Tualatin, Oregon; great-grandchildren, Allison Sytek, Markus Atwell, Alexander Shaw, Montana Atwell and Evan Atwell. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Malloch; and brother, Maurice Talbot.
