WAYNICK, James E.

- Of Flint Township, age 75, died Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at his residence. Funeral service was held at 11AM Friday, October 15, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Burial in Evergreen cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association. Mr. Waynick was born in Flint, Michigan on January 26, 1924 and was a resident of Flint and Rankin all of his life. He married Margaret Philpott on August 11, 1951. He was a member of UAW Local #599. Mr. Waynick was employed at Buick Motor Division and Foundry for 36 years. He was a World War II veteran. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; sons, Kelly and wife Ruth of Swartz Creek, Kevin of Flint Township; granddaughters, Jennifer and Christine; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys, in 1995.

BALDWIN, William D., Jr.

- Of Burton, age 77, died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at his son's home in Kila, Montana. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Thursday, October 7, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Burial in Crestwood cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #4087 Honor Guard. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society. Visitation 4-8PM Tuesday and 10AM-2PM and 4-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Baldwin was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 16, 1921, the son of William and Alice Baldwin and was a resident of the Flint area all of his life. He was a Bomber Pilot during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He married Cornelia M. King on February 9, 1942 in Defiance, Ohio. He was a past member of Genesee Sportsman Club and was a member of UAW Local #599. He was an avid sportsman, a champion pistol shooter and member of the Flint Canusa Pistol Team. Mr. Baldwin was employed by Buick Motor Division for 55 years, retiring in 1996. Surviving are 7 sons, Bruce of Metamora, Michigan, Dennis and wife Joan of Kila, Montana, Dana of Burton, Paul and wife Betty of Swartz Creek, Blake and wife Lisa of Burton, Jeffrey and wife Karrie of Flint and Matthew of Cape Coral, Florida; 2 daughters, Kristina and husband Cary Williams of Davison, Diane Williams and husband George of Columbia, Missouri; 26 grandchildren; 12 great- great-grandchildren; sister, Wavelle Vaughn of Grand Blanc; brother, Marcus Baldwin of Davison; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia, in 1997.

- Age 61, died Monday, May 31, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center.

DICKER, Mary A.

- Of Flint, age 84, died Monday, May 17, 1999 at Fenton Extended Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 7PM Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 West Court Street in Flint, Reverend Steven Buck and Reverend Shirley Cormichle officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Court Street United Methodist Church or the Flint Organ Club. Friends may meet with the family from 6PM until the time of the service on Thursday, June 3, 1999 and after the service.

DIMOCK, Julia M.

- Of Linden, age 88, died Saturday, May 29, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service will be held at 2PM Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Rhashell D. Hunter officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills cemetery. Those desiring, may make contributions to Genesys Hospice or Community Presbyterian Church. Visitation 2-4 and 6- 9PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

DOLAN, Harold W.

- Of Burton, age 77, died Monday, May 31, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Road, Rev. Father Paul Schwermer celebrant. Burial in Davison cemetery. Mr. Dolan will lie in state at the Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, where the family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 5-8PM on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, Mr. Dolan will lie in state at the church from 10AM until the time of the service. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Building Fund. Mr. Dolan was born in Beaubelles, North Dakota on June 14, 1921, the son of William P. and Margaret Dolan. Harold married June L. Gilbert on June 27, 1942. He was a charter member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mr. Dolan enjoyed woodworking. Harold retired from Dupont in Flint, MI, after 38 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Surviving are: wife, June; children, Mary Beth (Chris) Henderson, Dennis Dolan and friend Donna, Anne Fridline, Paul (Terri) Dolan, Kevin Dolan, Scott (Julie) Dolan; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert (Evelyn) Dolan, Bernard (Marjean) Dolan. He was was preceded in death by parents; son, Robert in 1986; two sisters, Leona and DelRose and a brother, Russel.

EASTMAN, Shirley M.

- Of Lapeer, age 80, died Sunday, May 30, 1999. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at 11 AM at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Rev. Peter DeKlerk officiating. Burial at Stiles cemetery. Visitation 1-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday. Surviving are sons, James (Kathryn) Whipple of Attica, Roger (Jacquelyn) Eastman of Lapeer and David (Brenda) Eastman of Orion; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; best friend, Adeline Deitz of Lapeer; sister and 2 brothers. Memorial may be made to American Cancer Society.

COMBS, Eva Mildred

- Of Fenton, age 91, of Fenton, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at Crestmont Nursing Care Facility. Funeral services were held 1PM today.

BURGESS, Bertha M.

- A longtime resident of Grand Blanc, age 86, passed away Monday, May 31, 1999 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Funeral service will be held 11AM Thursday, June 3, 1999 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Rev. Janet K. Barriger officiating. Interment at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 2-4 and 6- 9PM today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 6494 South Belsay Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Mrs. Burgess was born in Piggott, AR on December 6, 1912, the daughter of Dave and Mattie Ella (Williams) Underwood. Bertha was united in marriage with Keith J. Burgess in Angola, IN on May 8, 1937. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. Surviving are: sons, Larry, Alan and wife Diane, William and wife Jane, David and wife Judy; daughter, Sandra and husband Larry Sarver; grandchildren, Carie and Timothy Sarver, Megan, Amanda, James, John, Greg, Brian and Steve Burgess, Beth Zito; 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 6, 1989; parents; brothers, Frank and John Underwood; and an infant sister. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Genesys Convalescent Center for their loving care and concern.

HANNA, Donald G.

- Of Flint, age 80, died Saturday, May 29, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Memorial service will be held at 6PM Tuesday, June 1, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Richie Thomas officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association. Visitation 5PM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

HENIGE, Dr. William G., DDS

- Age 70, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road in Burton. Fr. Kenneth McDonald presiding. Burial will be at New Calvary Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 PM Tuesday and 12-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday at Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home by Msgr. Richard Groshek. Dr. Bill Henige was a caring, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and a skilled and conscientious health care provider. He was born September 22, 1928 in Flint and resided in Flint his entire life. Dr. Henige, a practicing dentist for 40 years, was a graduate of the University of Detroit Dental School. After graduating from St. Michael's High School, Dr. Henige attended Sacred Heart Seminary for two years before enrolling at the University of Detroit. He married Rita Hengesbaugh on August 21, 1954. In 1957, after discharge from the United States Air Force with the rank of Captain, be began practicing dentistry in Flint. Dr. Henige, a philosopher, an avid reader and loyal Notre Dame fan, was involved in several civic and professional organizations holding leadership roles in many of them. He was a past president of the Genesee County Dental Society, an active member of the American Dental Association and Director of several programs and study groups sponsored by the University of Michigan and the University of Detroit Dental Schools. As a Charter member of the Flint Area Health Foundation, Dr. Henige worked to provide quality health education and care to area residents, especially to the area's children. Dr. Henige was also instrumental in the creation of Luke M. Powers High School having worked on the Bishop of Lansing's planning committee for secondary education. Dr. Heige was also a member of Holy Redeemer Parish, the Elks Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the Edward G. Sorin Society and Badin Guild at the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Henige is survived by his wife Rita; daughter Debbie and husband John Compall of Chicago, Illinois; sons, Brad and wife Chris of Grand Blanc, Monte and wife Lisa of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Alyse, Tim, Claire, Tony, Teya, Mary K., Alex and Jack; brothers, Don Henige and wife Norma, Gene Henige and wife Marcella; brothers-in-law, Frank Hengesbaugh and wife Caroline, Bernard Hengesbaugh and wife Catherine, Clare Hengesbaugh and wife Dorothy, Ted Hengesbaugh and wife Marion, Arthur Jacobs and wife Carol; sisters-in-law, Jean Hengesbaugh, IHM, Eleanor Hengesbaugh; several loving nieces and nephews; dog, Barley. Donations may be made to the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Retirement Fund. 610 West Elm Avenue, Monroe, Michigan, 48162-7909 or Luke M.
