- A resident of Grand Blanc since 1975, age 99, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Funeral service will be held 2PM Monday, February 15, 1999 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Dr. Lawrence W. Kent officiating. Interment at Glenwood cemetery. Visitation from 2-4 and 6-8PM today and 1PM Monday until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Presbyterian Church, Flint.

NELSON, Mr. Willie

- Age 59, died Sunday, February 14, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center.

NICHOLS, Harold M.

- Of Burton, formerly of Fenton, age 74, died Saturday, February 13, 1999 at University Hospitals in Ann Arbor. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Thursday, February 18, 1999 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6336 Roberta Street in Burton, Father Denis R. Spitzley officiating. Burial in St. John's cemetery in Davison with a military graveside service under the auspices of Fenton VFW Post #3243 Honor Guard. Those desiring may make contributions to Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Visitation 5-9PM Tuesday and 1-4 and 6-9PM Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A chalice service will be held by Davison Knights of Columbus 4th Degree at 8:00PM Wednesday followed by a rosary at 8:30PM at the funeral home. Mr. Nichols was born in Whittemore, Michigan on June 1, 1924, the son of Earl and Mary Alice (Linton) Nichols and was a resident of Fenton for 32 years. He married Norma J. Brown on May 8, 1948 in Flint. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Council #11532, Burton and 4th Degree Assembly #0523, Davison, a member of VFW Post #3243 of Fenton and Flint Lawn Bowling Club. He was in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, 10th Mountain Division during World War II in Italy. Mr. Nichols was employed by Fisher Body #1 for 34 years, retiring in 1980. Surviving are his wife, Norma J. Nichols; 2 sons, Daniel and wife Michelle Nichols, Michael and wife Gina Nichols; 2 daughters, Monica and husband Jeff Hughes and Jan Nichols; 11 grandchildren, Wendy, Eric, Tiffany, Nicole, Megan, Bradley, Sarah, Katie, Lukas, Adam and Patric; 4 great- grandchildren; 4 brothers, Carl, Earl Jr., Marvin and Elgin; 2 sisters, Virginia Best and Lauretta Deacons; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary Alice.

NOWAK, Jennie (Asaro)

- Of Flint, formerly of Flushing, age 75, died Monday February 15, 1999, following a long illness at Heartland Manor at Carriage Town. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Thursday, February 18, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Vincent A. DeLorenzo officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association. Visitation 4- 9PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-9PM Wednesday at the funeral home. A rosary will be prayed at 8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Nowak was born in Flint, Michigan on February 26, 1923, the daughter of Peter and Mary Asaro and was a resident of Flint and Flushing all of her life. She married Theophil (Bill) Nowak on August 25, 1945 in Flint. She was a member of the Sons of Italy. Mrs. Nowak was employed by the Flushing School District, as a cook, for several years, retiring in 1985. Surviving are children, Linda Nowak- Carlson and husband Paul of California, Sandra Nowak-Scott and husband Ray of Flint, Richard and wife Melody of Grand Blanc, Victoria Williamson of Flint, Kenneth and wife Linda of Colorado; grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Alexis, Courtney, Derek, Tami, Melissa, Lindsay, Jessica, Ryan and Carley; sisters, Catherine Villarreal, Josephine Eashoo, Angie Dalley, Virginia Vermette, Rosemarie and husband Paul Welch; brother, Sam Asaro; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; son, Robbie; brothers, Tony, Charlie and Steve Asaro. A special thank you to the staff at Heartland Manor.

PICHIOTINO, Frances L. (Meredith)

- Of Flint, died Monday, February 15, 1999 at Fostrian Manor. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor James Thomas officiating. Entombment in the Mausoleum at Sunset Hills cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6- 8PM Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pichiotino was born August 2, 1910 in Highpoint, North Carolina, the daughter of John and Bessie (Carrol) Meredith. She married A. Eugene Pichiotino and he preceded her in death October 16, 1987. She had resided in Flint since 1918. She was an LPN in charge of the Admitting Dept. at McLaren Hospital, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, the Nurses' Association at McLaren Hospital and King's Daughters. She also attended First Presbyterian Church of Flint. Surviving are: nephew, Fred W. and wife Karen Meredith of Flushing; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Arnold, Fred and Clyde Meredith.

PITMAN, John William Henry

- Of Flint, age 76, died Friday, February 12, 1999 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, February 18, 1999 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Rev. Fr. Scott Danforth will officiate. Cremation at Sunset Hills cemetery. Mr. Pitman will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6- 8 PM on Wednesday and 1 PM until the time of the service on Thursday. Mr. Pitman was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 11, 1922, and immigrated to Michigan in January 1946. He lived in Holly and Flint Michigan for many years, and had a winter residence in Port Charlotte, FL. John married Edna M. Smith on October 20, 1945 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was an avid hunter, a certified scuba diver, jewelry maker and golfer. Mr. Pitman served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) from 1942 to 1945. Mr. Pitman was a tool and die maker, employed first at Continental Die in Holly, MI for 11 years, from 1946 to 1957. He was then employed at Ternstedt, Coldwater Rd. GM Plant in Flint, MI for 31.3 years, from 1957 to 1988. Surviving are: wife, Edna M. Pitman of Flint, MI; daughter, Linda Pitman Leaveck (Patrick G. Leaveck) of Davison, MI; son, Gerald W. Pitman of Flushing, MI; 4 grandsons, Patrick A. Leaveck, Michael A. Leaveck, Kelly B. Leaveck, all of Davison, MI, Jason R. W. Pitman of White Lake, MI; 4 brothers and sisters-in- law, Hudson Pitman (Nellie) of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, Ernest Pitman (Olga) of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, Robert Pitman (Margaret) of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada, Alec Pitman (Diane) of New Westminister, British Columbia, Canada; 5 sisters and 4 brothers-in-law, May Durrant of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, Pearl Potter (Clarence) of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Hazel Hill (Gordon) of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada, Ruth Hubert (Bill) of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada, Ivy Collins (Harold) of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada; sister-in- law, Tina Pitman of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada; many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws throughout the US, Canada and England; many friends, co-workers, neighbors. Mr. Pitman was preceded in death by brother, Lloyd Pitman in September 1991; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Pitman in 1994; brother-in-law, Charles Durrant.

- Of Burton, age 60, died Saturday, May 29, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service was held at 11AM today.

- Of Flint Township, age 79, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at her residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced.

KREBSBACH, Rita Ann

- It must make God so glad to see how you brightened up the world He created! You rejoiced in every single blessing he gave you, and you used his gifts to bless others. You spread his Love with smiles and greetings you shared with everyone you met. You enjoyed his faith and did God's will with an energy that showed how happy it made you. God must be glade to have you around. "I know we were"! Rita passed away Saturday, May 29, 1999 in Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1930 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to Howard H. and Myrtle M. (Shay) Hatzenbuhler, adopted daughter of Clifford N. Devereaux. A student at Marygrove College. She married Dale T. Krebsbach. Her surviving children are: Deborah Fritche of FL, Sue Gear of MI, Frederick Krebsbach and Christ Krebsbach of TN, and Edward Krebsbach of MI, and grandchildren, her sister, Alice Demeter of MI, and her brother, Fred Devereaux of OR. She retired as a Realtor after 25 years as a Real Estate Broker, and owner of K-Way Development and K-Realty. She was selected for reference in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the Mid-West, and Who's Who International, and inclusion in the Library of Human Resources American Bicentennial Research Institute. A Burial Mass will be held at St. Michaels Church, Flint, Michigan, June 5, 1999 at 2PM. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Flint, Michigan. Rita, you were our mother and our best friend, your children were your world, then came grandchildren that put a special sparkle in your eyes, you were devoted to your parents and close to your brother and sister, you were always there when someone needed you. Mom, you are missed by your children, grandkids, brother and sister and all your friends.

LeVASSEUR, Dolores A.

- Of Mundy Township, age 63, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12Noon, Thursday, June 3, 1999 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Father Douglas Osborn officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic cemetery. Those desiring, may make contributions to St. John Vianney Memorial Fund. Visitation 1-9PM Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A scripture service will be held at 4PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. LeVasseur was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia on June 11, 1935, the daughter of Charles A. and Elsie (King) Dooley and was a resident of the Flint area since 1955. She married Gerald L. LeVasseur on September 19, 1959 in Flint. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband, Gerald of Mundy Township; children, Gerald, II of Mt. Morris Township, Catherine of Mundy Township, James of Richfield Township and Thomas of Mundy Township; brother, Charles K. (Jeanette) Dooley of Millington; step-brother, Tony Skipper (Bonnie) of Swartz Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant children, Charles and Rebecca.

CAMPBELL, Mother Lelia

- Age 92, departed this life Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at Heritage Manor. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, February 16, 1999 from the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2109 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Rev. H.B. Dixson officiating. Interment Lovedale cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Tuesday. Mother Campbell will lie in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed after 12Noon Monday.

KEROUAC, Edward J.

- Of Davison, age 80, passed away Monday, February 15, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

MANEKE, Walter W.

- Of Montrose, age 64, died Monday, February 15, 1999 in Wauchula, Florida. Funeral arrangements will be announced.
