HENDERSON, Mrs. Cynthia Mae

- Age 72, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Thursday, June 3, 1999 from the Verse By Verse Christian Center, 2318 W. Pasadena Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Rev. Johnny Goodman, Jr. officiating. Interment River Rest cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Thursday. Mrs. Henderson now lies in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed after 12Noon today. Mrs. Cynthia Mae Henderson was born May 14, 1927 in Malone, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.Z. and Gladys (Jackson) Young, and had been a resident of Flint since 1963. She attended I.M. Terrell School in Fort Worth, TX. Mrs. Henderson attended several churches. She was a presser and homemaker, who enjoyed fishing, music and traveling. She leaves to cherish her memory: 4 daughters, Bessie, Alma and Vickie Henderson, and Gladys (Giles) Williams; 2 sons, John Henry (Wanda) Henderson, all of Flint, and Reginald P. (Teresa) Henderson of Phoenix, AZ; godson, Gary Southward; goddaughter, Jalinda Sheppard, both of Flint; 32 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; mother, Gladys Hudlin of Fort Worth, TX; daughter-in-law, Ruthie Burnett of Flint; brother, John A. Young of Fort Worth, TX; 3 sisters-in-law, Iola Young and Catherine (Charles) Washington, both of Fort Worth, TX, and Ruby Jean Young of Oakland, CA; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Jimmie Holliday, Ernest Bowman, Florinda "PoPo" Darrough, Annette and Pat Gray, Bonnie Elbert, Yvonne Williams, Ethel Jean Burnett, and many more. Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband; son; father; 2 brothers; grandfather. The family wishes to express special thanks to the Rev. Johnny Goodman, Jr.

HENIGE, Dr. William G., DDS

- Age 70, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road in Burton. Fr. Kenneth McDonald presiding. Burial will be at New Calvary Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be 12- 4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday at Dodds- Dumanois Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home by Msgr. Richard Groshek.

KERN, Leona (Johnson)

- Of Lapeer, age 81, died Monday, May 31, 1999. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 3, 1999 at 11 AM at the Lapeer Church of Christ, Stephen Ennis, Minister officiating. Burial in West Deerfield cemetery. Visitation 2-9 PM Wednesday. Surviving are: children, Sharon (Richard) Repp, Leon Kern and Christine Vought; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Kern.

COLE, Lorraine M.

- Age 73, of Vassar, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Mr. Glenn Griffis officiating. Burial in Fremont cemetery, Bancroft. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-9PM Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wildlife Recovery Association. Lorraine was born February 1, 1926 in Lansing, the daughter of H. Stanton and Dorothy (Lish) Lawrence. She married Clare Elton Cole on April 8, 1947 in Byron. She had resided in Vassar since 1971, coming from Gaines Township. Surviving are: husband, Clare Elton Cole; brother, Edwin Lawrence of Haslett; sister, Sharon and husband Douglas Jones of Auburn, CA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Mervin "Butch" Lawrence.

COLES, Floyd H.

- Of Otisville, age 82, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Arrangements will be announced later.

DENAM, Darlene Kay Of Mt. Morris Twp.,

age 55, died Monday, February 1, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Plumb- Smith Funeral Home, Pastor Robert Lilley officiating. Cremation will be at Sunset Hills cemetery. Darlene will lie in state at the Plumb- Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where friends may call 4-9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Darlene Denam Memorial Fund, envelopes available at the funeral home. Darlene was born May 18, 1943 in Flint, the daughter of Elmer and Irene (Henke) Smith. Surviving are: 2 daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Sherry) Oliver of Mt. Morris and Mrs. Mike (Lorienda) Volker of Florida; 6 granddaughters Susan, Teresa, Jessica, Jennifer and Kristina Oliver, and Penny Volker; 2 sisters, Joyce Hubbard and Mrs. Glen (Marion) Simons; 6 brothers, Leslie Smith, Bill (Judy) Smith, Bob (Opal) Smith, Clarence (Jean) Smith, Lawrence Smith and Tub Smith; several nieces and nephews; special friend Frank Jimenez.

WILLIAMS, Yvonne R.

- Of Mt. Morris, age 58, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service will be held at 10AM today at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Dale L. Lewis officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills cemetery. Contributions may be made to the family.

BOATMAN, Ollie (Arkie)

- Of Davison, age 83, died February 4, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 8, 1999 at Groves Chapel, Hansen Funeral Home, 421 N. Main St., Davison, Rev. William Noblitt officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, February 6 and February 7. Mr. Boatman was born January 9, 1916 in Sencey, Arkansas, the son of Walt Boatman. He resided in the Davison area since 1951. Mr. Boatman was joined in marriage to Ruth Hanley September 30, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was employed by General Motors, Buick Division from 1951- 1982. Surviving are: wife, Ruth; children, Bill and wife Denice Boatman of Davison, Diaina and husband Craig Cook of Flint, Ponchita and husband Bruce McComb of Metamora, Don Boatman of Davison; 8 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren.

MORTON, Dennis Edward -

Age 42 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Flint, MI and Deland Florida, passed away February 1, 1999 at Hillcrest North Nursing Home in Knoxville, TN. Funeral services will be held at the Whelpley-Martin Funeral Home, New Lothrop, MI, on Friday, February 4, 1999 at 1PM. Rev. Paul Brashaw will officiate with burial in Crestwood cemetery, Grand Blanc. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6-9PM and Friday after 10AM until time service. Mr. Morton was born in Dearborn, MI, November 23, 1956 and was a resident of Flint for 20 years. He moved to Deland, FL, and then Knoxville, TN. Surviving are: son Dennis E. Morton Jr. and daughter, Denise E. Morton of Deland, FL; mother, Ms. Geri Morton Knoxville, TN; grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Hughes of Powell; TN, sister and brother-in-law, Joe and Sandi Dixon of New Lothrop, MI, sister and brother-in-law, Mark and Becky Salsgiver of Davison; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Amy Morton of Davison; 3 nieces, Alexis Morton, Savannah and Ariel Dixon; 2 nephews, Justin and Travis Salsgiver; very special Aunt, Janice Allen of Knoxville, TN; also, aunts and uncles, Elvin and Ester Brown of Heber Springs, AR, Johnny and Virgie Morton of Piedmont, MO, Lois Morton of Arnold, MO, Larry and Dolly Morton of Baltimore, OH, Cecil Morton of Memphis, TN; many cousins and very special friend Judy Mase of Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Morton; grandfathers, Gerald Hughes and Charles R. Morton; and grandmother, Rose Morton. Whepley-Martin Funeral Home, New Lothrop, MI.

Coldwater Rd, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Rev. S. Miller III and Dr. F.P. Miller officiating. Interment Sunset Hills cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Mr. Miller now lies in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed after 12Noon today. Mr. Cornelius Alfred "AL" Miller was born December 2, 1973 in Columbus, Mississippi, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester and Mary (Anderson) Miller. Mr. Miller was employed at Wellington House, AFC, and formerly employed at the Lion of Judah as a Teacher's Assistant. He enjoyed all sports, and sports Video Games. He leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Rev. and Mrs. Sylvester and Mary Miller; fiancee, Markesia Brown; acclaimed daughter, Lakesia Brown; 2 sisters, Cecilia A. (James) Sims, and Chakahier A. (Ronald) Oliver; brother, Corey A. Miller, all of Flint; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Sefronia Anderson-Bowman, of Sanford, FL; 1 niece, 6 nephews, whom he was very fond of and encouraging to; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends Deandre Smith, and the Wellington House Staff and residents. The family wishes to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center Trauma Team.

- Of Grand Blanc, age 63, passed away Monday February 8, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Memorial Services will be held 11AM Thursday, February 11, 1999 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Rev. Janet K. Barriger officiating. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 6- 8PM Wednesday and 10-11AM Thursday at Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the McLaren Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, 4466 W. Bristol Rd., Flint, MI 48507 or to the charity of one's choice.

- Of Flint, age 79, died Thursday, February 11, 1999 at Heritage Manor Health Care Center. Complete arrangements will be announced later.

PEARSON, Mrs. Carrie L.

- Age 80, died Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Visitation 9- 5PM Saturday, February 13, 1999 from the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Preferred visitation from 4-5PM, afterwhich she will be taken to the Hayden and Bulter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 128, Lisman, Alabama 36912 (205) 398-3655. Interment in Mount Mariah cemetery, Melvin, Alabama. Mrs. Pearson will lie in state in the Chapel of the funeral home and may be viewed after 9AM Saturday. Mrs. Carrie L. Pearson was born May 18, 1918 in Melvin, Alabama, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad and Agnes Napier. She was a member of Jehovah Witness, Fenton Rd. Mrs. Pearson enjoyed sewing, quilting, doll making, reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. She was extremely pleasant, always smiling, and enjoyed being a super mom, grandmother, and loving wife. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Thomas C. Pearson; 2 daughters, Yuvondra Jackson and Barbara J. Brown, all of Flint; son, Thomas C. Pearson, Jr. of Freeport, NY; 14 grandchildren, Brenda Webber of San Antonio, TX, Tracey (Debra Washington) and Veronica Brown, both of Flint, Sandra L. (Reggie) Mclendon of Fallon, IL, Kandaria Brown of St. Peters, MO, Dr. Michael (Arianne) Jackson, Monomonee Falls, WI, Gregory Jackson of Flint; Terrance L. Jackson of Washington, D.C., Tonita Pearson of Flint, Thomas Pearson III of Detroit, MI, Trochelle Pearson of San Antonio, TX, Troy Pearson of Ohio, Darrel and Rhonda Johnson, both of Flint; 26 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Aguther Jordan and Mary L. Napier; brother, Sammie Nelson; father and mother-in-law, Coleman and Verma Pearson; 4 sisters-in-law, Janette Harris, Louise McGrew, Abbie Lee Harvest, and Lillie Mae Pearson; 5 brothers-in- law, Clamas, James, Mexic Lee, Elmer, and Raymond Pearson; a host of other relatives and friends including Barbara Davis and family, Minnie Parker, Assonia Napier, Betty Frye and Lillie Curtis. Mrs. Pearson was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Agnes Napier; sisters, Lemon T. Olds, Brunette Bonner, and Lennie Lee Thorton; brother, Edison Napier; special aunt, Jennie Nicholson. The family wishes to express special thanks to the visiting physician and nurses of Flint, and a very special thanks to nurse Jan and the Jehovah Witness friends.
