PEABODY, Ralph E.

- Age 68, of Holly, died Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday, February 13, 1999 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Jack Craft officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7- 9PM Friday. Mr. Peabody was born in Holly on June 22, 1930, the son of Thomas and Stella (Swartz) Peabody. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Numatics Corporation of Highland after 28 years of service and was a member of the Holly Presbyterian Church. Surviving are: his wife, Allie; 3 children, Ray (Cathy) Peabody of Brighton, Mark (Kelly) Peaboby of Danville, IN and Lori Peabody of Ann Arbor; 1 granddaughter, Amber Mitch of White Lake; twin brother, Rudy (Barb) Peabody of Holly; and sister, Florence Stevens of AZ. The family suggests memorials be made to the Holly Volunteer Ambulance.

NELSON, Eleanor L.

- A longtime resident of Flint, age 76, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 1999. Funeral service will be 1PM, Saturday, February 13, 1999 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Rev. Ed Emmerling officiating with interment at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1-8PM Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabeties Association.

MUNN, Elton

Age 86, died Friday, February 12, 1999 at McLaren Hospice-Kith Haven. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

MARSHALL, Mr. Louis J., Sr.

- Age 80, made his transition from life to his eternal life on Monday, February 1, 1999 at Herthpeth Terrace Health Care Center, in Franklin, Tennessee. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, February 6, 1999 from the Chapel of the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Dr. Avery Aldridge officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G- 9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Saturday. Mr.Marshall now lies in state in the Chapel of the funeral home and may be view after 12Noon today. Mr. Louis J. Marshall, Sr., was born December 24, 1918 in Waverly Hall, Georgia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben and Leila Marshall. He was a member of the Foss Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Marshall retired in 1982 from Chevrolet Truck and Bus, a division of General Motors Corporation, and was a member of Local #659. He leaves to cherish his memory: 3 daughters, Julie O. Roberts of Franklin, TN, Nita (Burdette) Hawkins, and Carmen Marshall, all of Flint; 2 sons, Louis J. (Diane) Jr., of Mableton, GA, and Rainier Marshall of Flint; 7 grandchildren, Comona, Makiah, and Woody III, all of Flint, B. Darnell (Dimeca) Hawkins, of Lansing, MI, Rashi, Brandon, and Ryan Marshall, all of Mableton, GA; 7 great grandchildren, Qua'ondra, Shawn, D'Andre, Aaliyah,Eric, Woody IV, and Kiahndre; sister, Pearlie (Tillmon) Hollis, of Waverly Hall, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; sister-in-law, Precious (James) Williams, of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including the Foss Avenue Baptist Church Family. Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; daughter, Ella Etherly; 3 sisters, Lucy, Janie and Daisey; 3 brothers, Ben, John and Hamp.

LEITELT, Scott William

- Of Mt. Morris, age 26, died Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Friday, February 5, 1999 at the Whipple O'Guinn Family Funeral Homes, Rev. Robert Bolander officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

KEELER, Marie

Age 66, of Fenton, died Thursday, February 4, 1999 at her residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

JACKSON, Cedric Charles

- Age 37, passed away Monday, February 1, 1999 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, February 6, 1999 from Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 317 E. Hamilton. Rev. Leroy Shelton officiating. Interment River Rest cemetery, G-3414 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday at which time the family will receive friends. Mr. Jackson will repose from the Chapel of the Swanson Funeral Home and may be viewed. Mr. Cedric Charles Jackson was born in Flint, MI on May 24, 1961. He attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Northwestern in 1979. He attended a technical school in Colorado, served in the U.S. Army for 4 years with an honorable discharge, and served with the National Guard. He was also a correctional officer for the State of Texas. Mr. Jackson confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church. He attended Sunday School Class No. 14 and other church related activities. He remained a faithful steward until his call to his eternal home. He leaves to cherish his sweet memory: parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Lillian) Jackson; 3 sisters, Mr. and Mrs. William (Cecelia) Caldwell Jr., Miss Karla and Miss Daphne Jackson, all of Flint; 1 brother, Mr. Kenneth Jackson of Puyallup, WA; 1 niece, Chrystal Caldwell of Flint; grandmother (maternal) , Mrs. Helen McIntosh of Dekalb, MS; 14 uncles; 17 aunts; and a host of relatives survives. He was preceded in death by 2 grandfathers; 1 grandmother and other relatives. God loved him best.

HILL, Walter L.

- Of Alger, formerly of Mt. Morris, age 92, died Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, February 6, 1999 at the Whipple- O'Guinn Family Funeral Homes in Clio. Rev. Jim Horn officiating, with burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 1-9PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's Association.

HILLMAN, Josephine I. (Burns)

- Age 71, of Holly, died Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held at 10AM Saturday, February 6, 1999 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, Holly with Father Joseph Killeen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery, Holly. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30PM this evening and visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9PM Friday at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly.

HENDRICKS, Bernard

- Of Flushing, age 72, died Friday, February 5, 1999 at McLaren Hospice Residential Unit. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

age 76, died Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at Genesys Hospice Center, Goodrich. Complete information will be announced.

PARTRIDGE, Laura Myrtle - Of Burton and formerly of Vassar,

age 92, died Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, January 5, 1999 at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar with Dr. Rick Flanders officiating. Burial at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Red Cross. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar 6-9PM Wednesday, 9AM-9PM Thursday and 9AM until time of funeral on Friday. Mrs. Partridge was born July 9, 1906 in Yale, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel and Emma (Pettingill) Reed. She and Paul L. Partridge were united in marriage in 1929. He preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Partridge loved to make quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and working in her flower garden. Surviving are: 4 sons and 1 daughter, Eldon and wife Ann Partridge of Illinois, Wesley Partridge of Burton, James Partridge of Burton, Marjorie Harper of Vassar and Bruce and wife Penny Partridge of Vassar; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

NEW, Donna M. -

Age 73, of Clio, died Monday, February 1, 1999 at Memorial Health Care in Owosso. Funeral service will take place 11AM Thursday, February 4, 1999 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial in Evergreen cemetery in Harrison. The family will receive friends 9-9 Wednesday and on Thursday from 9AM until time of service. Donna was born November 14, 1925 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Henry C. and Maude B. (Hayes) Norman. She married John L. New January 27, 1969, he preceded her in death September 1, 1974. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Fisher Body for 17 years. She is survived by: a daughter, Kathryn V. and husband Morris Goldberg of Clayton, MI; grandchild, Tanner Heit of Flint; 3 brothers and a sister, Henry C. and wife Jeanette Norman of Millersville, MD, Elva E. and husband Gerritt Cook of Flushing, Perry E. and wife Barbara Norman of Sun City, AZ, Russell D. and wife Frances Norman of Hot Springs, AR; brother-in-law and sister, Joseph Sentes of Sun City, AZ, Margaret Norman of Lakeland, FL. She also leaves a special friend and care giver, Eunice Morgan of Clio. She was preceded in death by a son, William H. Britt, brothers, Melvin and Wayne Norman and sister, Kathryn Sentes.

COVITZ-VOIGHT, Helen E. -

Age 83, of Flint, died Monday, February 1, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Graveside Services will be held 2PM Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at the Temple Beth El section in Flint Memorial Park, Rabbi Mark Goldfarb officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Leukemia Society of America, or the American Cancer Society. Helen was born May 8, 1915 in Chicago, the daughter of Samuel and Florence (Scheinman) Yaffe. She had resided in Flint most of her life, wintering in Florida. She married Lawrence Covitz and he preceded her in death; she then married Stuart Voight. Helen was a member of Temple Beth El and past president of the T.B.E. Sisterhood. She also did volunteer work for the blind. Surviving are: daughter, Sally Simmons of Flint; son, Andrew Covitz of Oregon; 2 grandchildren, Nathan and Nicole Simmons, both of Flint; brother, James and wife Elaine Yaffe of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces and nephews, Judy and Erin Daniels, Deborah Yaffe and Alastair Bellamy, Rebecca Yaffe, Gideon and Susan Yaffe; 3 great- newhews, Gregory and Susanne Daniels, Alex Daniels, David Yaffe Bellamy; great-great-niece, Helena Daniels; great-great-nephew, Owen Daniels. She was preceded in death by her parents.
