LITTEN, Mildred

- Of Dunedin, Florida, formerly of Flint, age 93, died Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Manor Care in Dunedin, Florida. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

BANTLE, Leo Max

- Of Flushing, age 75, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at U. of M. Hospital, Ann Arbor. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at Rossell Funeral Home, Pastor Clifford Bira will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills cemetery. Visitation will be 11AM to 3PM and 5PM to 9PM Monday. Mr. Bantle was born in New York, NY May 12, 1924, the son of Max and Elsie (Raack) Bantle. Mr. Bantle served in the Merchant Marine during WWII in the Atlantic-Pacific-Mediterranean Theater of Operation including the "D" Day invasion of Normandy, France. He had been employed at Buick since 1966 and was a member of U.A.W. Local #599. Surviving are: 2 daughters, Lisa M. and husband Gerry Vargo of Phoenix, AZ, Renee L. and husband Jose Feliciano of Langhorne, PA; 9 grandchildren, Max Vargo, Rachael, Cruz, Leah, Felicia and Nikko Feliciano, Kelly, Kristin and Brian Bantle; daughter-in-law, Judy Bantle of Flint. He was preceded in death by son, Richard (Dick) in December of 1984.

YOUNG, Leonard M. "Len"

- Of Lansing, died Friday, June 18, 1999, age 82, in Reed City, MI. He was born September 3, 1916 in Reed City. Mr. Young was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Fisher Body for 38 years, retiring in 1974. Surviving are: his wife of 58 years, Shirley; 1 son, Michael Young of Lansing; 3 grandchildren, Lori, Jeff and Jodi; 2 great-grandchildren, Justin, and Mason; 1 sister, Evelyn Whitacre of Flint. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at 2PM at the Gorsline-Runciman Co., Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. Ph. 517-482-1533, with the Rev. Frederick L. Thelen of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing, with Military Graveside Services being provided by the V.F.W. Edwin J. Leyanna Post #671, Dewitt. Friends may call at the chapel beginning Sunday 2PM where the family will receive friends Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association of Michigan, 271 Woodland Pass, Suite 110, East Lansing, 48823, or the the American Lungs Association of Michigan, 403 Seymour Ave., Lansing, 48933- 1179 in memory of Mr. Young.

FRIDAY, Bernard Gerard, Sr.

- A resident of Burton, age 68, went to be with God on Thursday, June 17, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11AM Monday, June 21, 1999 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton, Fr. Vincent DeLorenzo celebrant. Burial to follow in Crestwood Memorial cemetery, where members of the color guard VFW Post #822 will offer graveside services. The family will receive friends at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc Saturday from 5-9PM and Sunday from 2-9PM, where a rosary will be prayed Sunday at 5:30PM followed by memorial services performed by members of VFW Post #822.

ADAMS, Carol Ann

- Of Grand Blanc, age 65, died Sunday, June 20, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Memorial service will be held at 3PM Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at First Baptist Church, G- 6106 South Saginaw in Grand Blanc, Pastor Raleigh Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. Mrs. Adams was born in Oxford, Michigan on April 29, 1934, the daughter of Carl and Elsa (Cady) Griswold, and was a resident of the Flint area all of her life. She married Charles L. Adams, Jr. on May 23, 1952 and they celebrated their 47th anniversary this year. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc and the Mary Martha Guild. She was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherwoman and camper. She loved lighthouses and was fascinated with the Amish lifestyle and log cabins. Mrs. Adams was employed by Gussini Shoes. Surviving are husband, Charles; children, Vickie Adams of Flint, Charles III and wife Rhonda of Burton; granddaughters, Mandy Adams and Shana Adams; sister, Patricia and husband Ray Wilson; brother, Carl Wayne and wife Dorothy Griswold; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. "She will be greatly missed by all."

DANKO, Deborah Louise

- Age 31, of Flint, passed away Saturday, June 19, 1999 at her residence. A Funeral service will be held at 3:30PM on Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd. Visitation will be held from 4-9PM on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to her children. Deborah was born on June 15, 1968 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Judith and Lloyd Honea. She was an animal lover, loved computers and was a craft person. She was united in marriage to Robert Danko on June 5, 1993 in Flint, MI. Surviving are: husband, Robert; daughter LaTosha Wilson; sons, Jonathan Wilson and Mikeal Wilson; step-daughter, Michelle Danko; mother, Judith Honea; father, Lloyd "Bill" Honea; brothers, Roger Wilson, Lloyd "Billy" Honea, Jr. and fiancee Gina; sister, Tamara Honea and fiance Rudy; grandmother, Nellie Hall; several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; special friend, Shannon.

HATFIELD, Martha S.

- Of Davison, age 101, died Monday, June 21, 1999 at her residence. There will be no services. Cremation has taken place.

HILL, Rebecca J.

- Of Flint, age 44, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Saturday, June 26, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Martin Goode officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Visitation 5-9PM Thursday and 2PM- 9PM Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hill was born in Flint, Michigan on August 22, 1954. She married Rick Hill on May 22, 1973 in Flint. Becky was a long-time member of West Flint General Baptist Church in Flint and then later attended Mt. Zion General Baptist Church of Oxford, Michigan, pastored by her father-in-law, Reverend Albert S. Hill of Flint. Becky loved the Lord. Beloved wife of Ricky Albert Hill, Sr. and cherished mother of Ricky Albert, Jr., Joseph Calvin, Jeremy Walter and Joshua Aaron Hill, all of Flint; 2 grandchildren, Justin Walter Hill and mother, Tisha Theodore and Ethan Claude Ricky Hill and mother, Angie Jackson; 3 brothers, Thomas and Beverly, Robert and Rodney Phillips; 3 sisters, Peggy and Thomas Page, Debra and Eric Twork and Cindra Beard; mother- in-law, June A. Hill; 2 sisters-in- law, Kimberly and Greg Maguffee, Lisa and John Gifford; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Patricia Phillips. Rebecca will be greatly missed by all.

BLACKLEDGE, Homer Dale (Blackie)

- Died May 12, 1999 in Tucson, Arizona. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service 11AM Saturday, June 26, 1999. Visitation at 10AM at Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison, MI. After services everyone welcome at Homer and Nancy's at Long Lake.

BUDAE, Beverly M.

- Of Burton, age 62, died Thursday, June 24, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Monday, June 28, 1999 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1922 Iowa in Flint, Father Jay J. Gantz officiating. Burial in Davison cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Genesee County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Visitation 1-4 and 6-9PM Saturday and Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Budae will be at the church from 10AM until the time of the service on Monday.

SOUDERS, Kenneth G.

- Of Mission, Texas, formerly of Lennon, age 63, died Sunday, June 20, 1999 at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 2PM Saturday, June 26, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Michael Souders officiating. Burial in Crestwood cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

BAESSLER, Anna Bernice (Bea)

- Age 85, died Thursday, June 24, 1999 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be 11AM Monday, June 28, 1999 from St. Pius X Catholic Church. Msgr. Richard Groshek will officiate. Burial in New Calvary Catholic cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home from 6-8PM Saturday and 12-4 and 6-8PM on Sunday. A Parish scripture service will be prayed at the funeral home 3PM on Sunday. On Monday Mrs. Baessler will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10AM until the time of the service. Friends desiring may make contributions to the Whaley Children Center, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or the Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Mrs. Baessler was born December 4, 1913 in Wapakoneta, OH and came to Flint in 1917 from Ohio. She married Harry August Baessler, D.D.S. in Flint March 23, 1935, celebrating 49 years of marriage before his death in 1984. She was a Charter Member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, a former member of the Flint Golf Club, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Genesee Federation of Blind and Genesee County Dental Auxiliary. Surviving are: 2 sons, Joseph E. Baessler and wife Susan of Flint, William A. Baessler and wife Doris of Webster Groves, MO; daughter, Mary Ann Winters and husband Kurt of Overland Park, KS; 3 grandchildren, Joseph Edward Baessler, II, Jennifer Erin Baessler, both of Flint, Daniel John Winters of Overland Park, KS; sister, Mary Burrows of Davison; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Baessler of Farmington Hills, MI; several nieces and nephews.

GLENN, Andrew J.

- Of Davison, formerly of Lilly, Pennsylvania, age 55, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

HALL, Dorothy M.

- Age 80, died Monday, June 28, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
