- Of Flint, age 87, died Friday, June 18, 1999, at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Complete arrangements will be announced later.

JOHNSON, Jason

- Age 16, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, June 18, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

KEELS, Luerannia Mrs.

- Was born September 27, 1920, in Ozan, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell (Evelyn White) Conway Sr. Mrs. Keels worked at the Scenic Motel of Grand Blanc, Dort Motel and the Flint Cinema Theatre. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Mother's Board, Pastor's Aide, Floral Club and regularly attended Sunday School, until her illness prevented her from attending church. On Tuesday evening, June 15, 1999 at her residence, Mrs. Keels closed her eyes in peaceful sleep to wake no more in this life. Services will be held Monday, June 21, 1999 at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 424 Kennelworth Ave., Rev. Roy I. Grier officiating. Burial at Lovedale cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 19, 1999 from 3-9PM and Sunday, June 20, 1999 from 11-9PM. She leaves to cherish precious memories: 2 daughters, Doris and Mary Keels; 2 sons, Larry (Sharon Bullard), and Howard (Regina) Keels, all of Flint, MI; 12 grandchildren, Nikey, Victoria, Nicholas, Eric, Erica, Deinoya, Jahmar, LaMarcus, Renita, Jerel, Rere and LaShonda; 2 great- grandchildren, Deiondre and Darreion; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ollie Baker, Mrs. Pecolia Mixon, Mrs. Clarie Perkins and husband Shermon; 3 brothers, Mr. Mitchell (Martha) Conway, Jr., Mr. George (Henrietta) Conway, all of Flint, MI and Mr. James Conway of Genesee, MI; 2 brothers and 4 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ula Conway, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie (Marie) Keels, Mr. and Mrs. Robert "Sonny" (Irene) Keels; all of Flint, MI, and Mrs. Bessie Grisby of Dallas, TX; numerous cousins, including C.J. Stewart; A host of nieces and nephews including: Willie Ray (Irene) Rodgers of Saginaw, MI, Haroldean and Charles Ray Conway of Chicago, IL, whom she helped raised, and CHarolette Piggie, of Ashdown, AR; daughters-In- Law: Toni Keels and Thereather Snow; numerous grand and great- grand nieces and nephews; The Pastor's Aide, Mother's Board, Floral Club, entire Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church family and First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Special thanks to Dr. Barry Miller, McLaren Hospice, and Home Care specialist Debra Washington. Mrs. Keels was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Keels, son, Phil, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell (Evelyn) Conway, Sr., 2 brothers, Vance and Leroy, and sister Icerine Conway-Gamble.

MADARAS, Edward G.

- Of Flint, age 73, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 6PM Monday, June 21, 1999 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Rev. Father Paul Schwermer officiating. The family will receive visitors from 4:30PM Monday until the time of the service. A Burial Service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at New Calvary Catholic cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

MANNING, Oscar A.

- Of Burton, age 67, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Monday, June 21, 1999 at Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1158 Bristol Rd., Flint, MI, Elder Mary McClellan officiating. Cremation has taken place. The family of Oscar invites all to attend a luncheon after the service at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts Council of America, The Tall Pine Council. Envelopes are available at the church.

McCOON, Lyle I.

- Of Romain Road, Caro, age 83, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 1999 at his daughter's home in Davison. He was born on April 8, 1916 in Minnesota. Lyle McCoon first married the former Jeanette Gerwolds and she preceded him in death on November 15, 1984. He then married the former Frances Chaffee on February 14, 1986, at Caro. Lyle was a Deputy Sheriff with the Tuscola County Sheriff's Department and later a Sergeant at Pontiac Motors Plant Protection. He enjoyed tinkering and inventing things. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #226 F&AM and the Michigan Sheriff's Association. He is survived by: his wife, Frances; 4 children, Lyle and Dawn McCoon, Janet Griffin, Susan and Jack Rickard, Mark and Jill McCoon; 5 grandchildren, Julie and Todd Ryan, Jennifer and David Wheatcroft, Kevin Rickard, Lyle R. McCoon, Jr. and Dawn, Katie and Russell Mohr; 3 great-grandchildren, David Ryan, Emily Wheatcroft and Joshua McCoon; 5 step- children, Judy and Gary Louks, Cheryl and Robert O'Kelly, Faye and George Mashek, Randy and Sharron McCoon, Melody and James Maciag; 11 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dale and Ilene McCoon, Patrick McCoon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James and Donald McCoon. The funeral will be held at Collon Funeral Home, Caro, on Saturday, June 19 at 11AM with Rev. Calvin Blue of Caro United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Oregon Township cemetery, Columbiaville. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home, Caro, on Saturday from 9AM until time of service at 11AM. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.

MILLER, Scott Timothy

- Of Mundy Township, age 41, died Sunday, June 13, 1999 in Boyne City, Michigan. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Monday, June 21, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Anthony J. Tomasino officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation 6-8PM Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Miller was born in Flint, Michigan on November 10, 1957 and was a resident of Flint and Mundy Township all of his life. He was a 1975 graduate of Grand Blanc High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a lifetime member of DAV Chapter # 3. He was a member of the Boyne City Eagles and was an avid snowmobiler and boater. Surviving are his parents, Harold and Opal of Mundy Township; sister, Karen G. and husband James Anderson of Clare; 2 brothers, Kenneth C. and wife Darlene of Linden and Derrick L. of Mundy Township; 1 niece; 6 nephews; 2 grand-nieces and 3 grand- nephews; several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

COATES, Pearl V.

- Longtime resident of Genesee Twp., age 96, died Friday, June 18, 1999. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday at the Plumb- Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Ed Emmerling officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Mrs. Coates will lie in state at the Plumb- Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 North Ballenger Highway, Flint Township, where friends may call 7-9 PM Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Sunday. Pearl was born July 1, 1902 in Au Gres, Michigan, the daughter of Martin and Laura (Saunders) Wells. She worked at AC Spark Plug for several years. Surviving are: daughter, Shirley Wineland; grandchildren, Jerry and Carol Vargo of Beulah, Michigan, John and Dalene Vargo, Paul and Kay Vargo, David and Shelly Vargo all of Clio and Deborah and Ron Nelson of Burton; 10 great- grandchildren; 3 great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Coates.

CRUTCHFIELD, Mr. Jadene "Jay"

- Age 58, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at his residence. Family hour 12:30PM Monday, June 21, 1999 from the New Beginnings Ministries, 5227 Beecher Rd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 1PM. Eld. Clarence Lewis officiating. Interment River Rest cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30PM Monday. Mr. Crutchfield now lies in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed after 11AM today. Mr. Jadene "Jay" Crutchfield was born June 9, 1941 in Braden, Oklahoma, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jason and Annie L. (Ingram) Crutchfield. He was a member of New Beginnings Ministries, and was a former member of Vermont Christian. Mr. Crutchfield was a Master Barber for many years. He was employed by Perry Place in Grand Blanc, MI, until his health failed. Jay touched many lives and inspired many people. Mr. Crutchfield was devoted to all of his family. He leaves to cherish his memory: loving campanion, Martha E. Hill; daughter, Shellanda (Pierre) Smith; 2 sons, Derick and Jason Crutchfield, all of Flint; 12 grandchildren; mother, Annie L. Crutchfield of Flint, MI; brother, Arthur Crutchfield of Watervalley, MS; niece, Darliss (Greg) Batchelor; nephews, Daryl Crutchfield, both of Pontiac, MI; 4 aunts, Lorene Flynn of Montrose, MI, Odessia (Charles) Oliver of Flint, and Ora (Robert) Wilson of Oceanside, CA, Ira Ingram of Los Angelos, CA; uncle, Jack (Victoria) Crutchfield of Spiro, OK; great uncle, William (Pearl) Housley of Flint; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, James "Fish" Johnson and Gordon Tolbot, mother of his children, Rebecca Crutchfield. Mr. Crutchfield was preceded in death by his father, Jason Crutchfield; grandparents; aunts; uncles. The family wishes to express special thanks to McLaren Hospice Service, especially Richard.

DANIELS, Leonard J.

- Of Sterling, age 85, died Friday, June 18, 1999. Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Monday, June 21, 1999 at Savage Funeral Home, Standish, Michigan. Visitation will be held from 11AM- 9PM Sunday and 11AM till service on Monday. Mr. Daniels was born on June 23, 1913. he was a resident of Flint and worked as a Pipefitter at Buick until his retirement when he returned to Sterling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances of 57 years. Surviving are: his second wife, Joyce; 7 children; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 9 stepchildren; 2 brothers; 3 sisters and many dear friends.

DODDS, Mr. Louis, Jr. "Buddy"

- Age 72, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, June 21, 1999 from the Chapel of the Swanson Funeral Home, 2210 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment Gracelawn cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel of the Swanson Funeral Home 10:30AM Monday, at which time the family will receive friends. Mr. Dodds now reposes in the Chapel of the Swanson Funeral Home. Mr. Louis Dodds, Jr. was born June 4, 1927 in Hughes, AR, the son of Louis and Emma (Knox) Dodds, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Zena Woods; granddaughter, Shaun Woods; 5 sisters, Velma Walker, Rose Jones, Ethel Dixon, Elnora (Rufus) Maxwell Davis and Ola Woods; 2 brothers, Robert Dodds and Willie Jones, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Waverly Dodds. Special thanks to Hurley Medical Center, Dr. Brina Zado and special home caregiver, Sis. Rose Jones.

FITCH, Michael D.

- Of Frankenmuth, MI, passed away Thursday, June 17, 1999 at his residence after a lengthy illness, age 42 years. Mass Christian burial will take place 10AM Monday, June 21, 1999 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Frankenmuth, Fr. Fred Kawka will officiate with burial in Frankenmuth Township cemetery. Friends may call at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 525 W. Tuscola, Sunday 2-4 and 6-8PM and Monday at church 9AM until time of service. Wake service will be held Sunday at 7PM from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy my wish to consider memorials to Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Frankenmuth.

GRAY, Grace K.

- Age 80, of Flint, died Thursday, June 17, 1999 at Heritage Manor. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, 1999 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Flint Area Chapel, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, Fr. Anthony Majchrowski officiating. Burial in Crestwood Memorial cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Rosary will prayed 3 p.m. Sunday.

ADAMS, Carol A.

- Of Grand Blanc, age 65, died Sunday, June 20, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Memorial service will be held at 3PM Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at First Baptist Church, G-6106 South Saginaw in Grand Blanc. Further information will be announced later.
