Tammy Sue Basset, 44, of Traverse City, formerly of Manchester, died Dec. 12, 2006, at Munson Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1962, in Saline, to Clarence and Barbara (Luckhardt) Reynolds.
On July 24, 1981, Mrs. Bassett married
Scott Bassett in Bridgewater. She was employed at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. She loved to golf and spend time with her children.
Mrs. Bassett is survived by her husband, Scott; children, Danielle, Joseph and Melissa; her mother, Barbara; her father, Clarence; and sisters, Dawn (Randy) Klein, Tracy Nicholas and Christa (Jeff) Krol.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Emma Luckhardt.
A funeral was held Saturday at Faith Reformed Church in Traverse City. The Rev. Jim Vargo officiated. Interment was at Oakwood cemetery.

ERIN ALICE KREAGER
Milan
Callie Ann and Erin Alice Kreager of Milan, beloved twins of Douglas and Rebecca Kreager, died shortly after their birth Dec. 11, 2006, and are now with the Lord.
In addition to their parents, they are survived by maternal grandparents, Robert and Beverly Davenport of Milan; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Millie Kreager of Milan; and maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Short of Paris Crossing, Ind.
They also are survived by their older sister, Kaicee May, as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
"They may have only been with us for a short time but will always be in our hearts, " their family said.
JANIE "LENA" COTTRILL
Oakland, Md.
Janie Helena "Lena" Cottrill, 100, of Oakland, Md., died Dec. 19, 2006, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland. She was born April 21, 1906, near Sarahsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Andrew and Arena (Morris) McGarry.
Mrs. Cottrill was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh O. Cottrill Sr., and by her son, Hugh O. Cottrill Jr., as well as a granddaughter, Alyse Riggs.
Surviving are four daughters, Helen Fitzwater of Oakland, Md., Dorthy (John) Jones of Kingwood, W.Va., Lenni Rubel of Saline and Eilene (Bill) Riggs of Saline.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and their spouses, John (Shirley) Fitzwater III, Frank Fitzwater, Jann (Jerry) Swiger, John Jones, Gordon Jones, Eric Jones, Phillip (Sonia) Jones, Gilda (John) Russell, Kari Rubel, Kathy (Mike) Dvorin, Patrick Riggs, Richard (Mary Ann) Riggs, Randall Riggs, Lelia Riggs, Amy Riggs, Ron Riggs and Aaron Riggs.
Additional survivors include 23 great-grandchildren and their spouses, John Fitzwater IV, Jimmy Fitzwater, Ardra (John) Sharpless, Julie Fitzwater (Michael) Clark, Barrett (Kim) Fitzwater, Gabe (Elizabeth) Fitzwater, Gina Dvorin, Lindsay Dvorin, Jonathan (Anna) Russell, Shelly (Gary) Ryan, Adam Russell, Zachary Riggs, Sarah Riggs, Courtney Riggs, Ashley Eberly, Ian Ghering, Robbie (Leslie) Swiger, Andy Swiger, Adam Langworthy, Olivia Riggs, Andrew Riggs, Nathan Jones and Asha Riggs.
Also surviving are 17 great-great-grandchildren, James and Joshua Fitzwater; Jeremy and Julianna Sharpless; Sebastian, Birch and Linus Clark; Meghan, Hannah, Michael, Josh and Allison Fitzwater; Lauren Fitzwater; Taylor and Evan Swiger; Christopher Russell; and Leslie Rinker.
The family received friends Dec. 20 at the Burdock-Durst Funeral Home in Oakland, Md. A funeral was held Dec. 21 in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Richard Hogg officiated.
The family also received friends Dec. 21 at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home in Pennsboro, W.Va., and a funeral was held Dec. 21 at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home.
Interment was at Mount Pisgah cemetery in Pullman, W.Va.
ROBERT C. AKANS
Saline
Robert C. Akans, 81, of Saline died Feb. 22, 2007, at the Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor. He was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Belleville, the son of Guy C. and Margaretta M. (Duquette) Akans. He had been a Saline resident since 1969.
On July 12, 1947, in Belleville, he married
Ruth E. Baker, and she survives.
Mr. Akans had been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Saline and had served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946.
Mr. Akans had been employed by Michigan Bell for more than 30 years and continued his employment at Electronic Data Systems.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by four children, Robert (Kathleen) Akans of Johnstown, Pa., James C. (Cynthia) Akans of Gaylord, Nancy D. (Martin) Puscas of Novi and Cheryl D. (Paul) Whitfield of Saline.
Other survivors include 10 grandchildren, Kevin, Chris, Aaron, Sarah and Ethan Akans, Chase and Lauren Conrad, Kristi, Ryan, and Jason Whitfield; one brother, David Jack (Dorotha) Akans of Woodhaven; one sister, Peggy (Floyd) Stabnau of Belleville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
A funeral was held Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Saline. The Rev. James Tuttle officiated. Burial was at the Hillside cemetery in Belleville.

RAY A. DALTON
Milan
Ray A. Dalton, 61, of Milan died Feb. 25, 2007, at home with his family by his side. He was born March 20, 1945, in Detroit to Donald and Doris (Coleman) Dalton.
On Dec. 7, 1974, he married
Lynn Spillane in Southgate, and she survives.
Mr. Dalton worked at General Motors Corp. for 43 years, retiring in 2006 as a tool and die maker. He was a member of the Maybee Sportsman's Club and was an avid shooter. He also enjoyed four wheeling on the sand dunes, spending time with his grandchildren and family vacations.
In addition to his wife, Lynn, he is survived by his children, Lori (Thomas) TenEyck of Clarkston, Thomas (Debra) Dalton of Canton and Steven (Stacey) Dalton of Royal Oak; two grandchildren, Austin and Hailey TenEyck; three brothers, Ken (Patti) of Arizona, Greg (Colleen) of Belleville and Mark (Cindy) of Saline; and one sister, Lynda Dalton of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ray A. Dalton Jr. on Jan. 16, 2004; two brothers, Donald and Chuck; and one sister, Dawn Hudson.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at the Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan. A funeral will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Gordon Moore will officiate.

VIOLA DICKS
Jackson
Formerly of Saline
Viola Wilhelmina (Hertler) Dicks, 93, of Jackson, formerly of Saline, died Feb. 23, 2007, in Jackson. She was born Nov. 27, 1913, on a farm in Saline Township to Charles and Johanna (Seitz) Hertler, the youngest of 16 children –– nine girls and seven boys.
Mrs. Dicks was a longtime resident of Saline and Jackson. She graduated from Saline High School, clerked at various stores in Saline and taught at Houghton Elementary School from where she retired.
She married
her husband, Leland, in 1938, and they had one son, Dennis Carl Dicks.
Mrs. Dicks was an active member of her church, where she played the organ and taught Sunday school for many years.
She spent the last 23 years at Vista Grande Villa Retirement Community in Jackson, where she made many friends, played piano, enjoyed playing cards, quilted, sewed and made Raggedy Ann dolls.
Mrs. Dicks was preceded in death by her husband, Leland, in 2001 after 63 years of marriage; her son, Dennis, in 1999; her parents; and all 15 siblings.
She is survived by a loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Per Mrs. Dicks' request, cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St James' United Church of Christ, 11005 W. Michigan Ave., in Saline. The Rev. Orval L.E. Willimann will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. James' church.

JOY DUNMIRE FAULKNER
Interlochen, Fla.
Formerly of Milan
Joy Faulkner, 54, died May 2, 2007, at Shand's Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., with her family by her side. She was born Aug. 16, 1952, in Ann Arbor.
Mrs. Faulkner graduated from Milan High School in 1970 and took art classes at Washtenaw Community College. She had a talent for all forms of art, and was always painting, drawing, crafting, or walking along the beach collecting sea shells.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; children Amie, Nada and Brooks; grandchildren, Damien, Stone, Justin, Bria and Brice: her parents, Justin and Ruth Dunmire; and her sister, Justine Dunmire.
Cremation and a memorial service have taken place.
ALBERT F. EASUDES
Grass Lake
Albert F. Easudes, 85, of Grass Lake died Sept. 10, 2007. He was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Sharon Township. He married
Ellen V. Feldkamp July 21, 1945, and she survives.
Together they raised three sons, Steve (Anna) Easudes of Chelsea, Tom (Lorrie) Easudes of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jeff Easudes of Sharon Township, and they survive.
He is also survived by his grandson, Jesse (Eliza Hall) Easudes of Pittsburgh and Jesse's mother, Jeannie Koda of Grass Lake.
Mr. Easudes was a gentle man who loved his family and his dog, Trixie. He enjoyed fishing and sailing, even building his own cabin trimaran sailboat.
He was the official photographer to family and friends for many years, as well as a skilled woodworker who made many beautiful pieces that are still being used and loved by the grateful recipients.
Mr. Easudes loved nature and walking in the woods. His garden was his pride and joy, with fall being the time that neighbors and family enjoyed the bounty.
Visitation was Wednesday at Cole Funeral Home. A special memorial service will follow in the fall for the scattering of his ashes in the woods he loved.
Mr. Easudes was so loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
