Age 70, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2004. She was born January 17, 1934 in Larsdale, MS, the daughter of Estella Williams and the late Martin Price. Survivors include- her mother; nine children; 30 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and 18 brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be 11-00 A.M. Thursday, December 30 at Second Baptist Church, 301 S. Hamilton with the family hour from 10-00 A.M. until time of service. Rev. James Brooks, host pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel.

Greer, Nona Lee
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 83, passed away Monday, December 27, 2004 at Superior Woods Nursing Home. She was born July 11, 1921 in Yards, VA, the daughter of Gordon and Mamie (Caldwell) Anderson. On March 27, 1944, Nona married Roy Greer and he preceded her in death December 27, 2002. Nona spent her life as a devoted wife and mother, and the Best Grandma (Nanny) ever. Her kind and gentle manner was loved by all. She was always known for her exceptionally great cooking and baking, earning the nickname, Granny Good Cook by family friend Kaye. She will be sadly missed by her family and everyone that knew her. Survivors include - daughters, Sharon (Tom) Farley and Paulette Platte and son, Roy Greer Jr., all of Ypsilanti; grandchildren, Rebecca Farley, Kent Farley, Jennifer (Dan) Gillay, Stephanie Farley, Roy Greer III, Julie Greer, Joy (Rick) Presley and Kevin and Kyle Platte; and great granddaughters, Shelby and Amanda. In addition to her husband Roy, she was preceded in death by - her parents, sisters, Hallie Stephenson, Willie Compton, Verlie Epperson, Shirley Crockett and Ruby Anderson and brothers, Winnas and Buford Anderson. The family would like to thank everyone that helped in her care over the past years. Our heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful people at Superior Woods Nursing Home, especially Christina and Wanda (her two private angels), and all the nurses and aides that showed her such kindness, compassion and love. The funeral service will be 11 -00 A.M. Thursday, December 30 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Les Harwood of Metro Baptist Church officiating. Grice, Eunice W.

Age 95, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2004. Beloved mother of the late Jessie Grice and grandmother of Michael Grice of Ypsilanti, Nolan Grice of Houston, TX and Roxanne Grice of Ypsilanti. Also survived by- six great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Maggie Grice of Ypsilanti; special loving surrogate daughter, Dessie Larkin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member and mother of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral service will be 11-00 A.M. Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Percy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery. Flowers appreciated or contributions may be made to the donor’s choice. Envelopes are available at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel where visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday. The family hour will be at the church from 10-00 A.M. until time of service Saturday.

Hagood, Ann
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 63, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born January 17, 1941 in Dickson, TN, the daughter of James and Nannie (Blaylock) Hagood. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Ypsilanti. Survivors include - her mother, Nannie of Ypsilanti; one brother, Kenneth (Linda) Hagood of Ypsilanti; two sisters, Linda K. Hagood of Ypsilanti and Judy (Bob) Sharp of Saline; sister-in-law, Susan K. Hagood of Saline; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, James Bennie Hagood and one brother, James Phillip Hagood. The funeral service will be 1 -30 P.M. Saturday, November 13 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Evangelist Gary Vaught officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery, Saline. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 P.M. Friday.

Haley, Tom Ed Sr.
Willis, MI

Age 69, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at University Hospital from cancer. He was born March 20, 1935 in Montgomery, TN, the son of Marion A. and Sallie (Murry) Haley. On July 8, 1955, he married Barbara A. O’Bryan in Springfield, TN and she survives. Tom worked for General Motors Willow Run plant until he retired in December of 1995. He was a member of York Baptist Church of Milan. In addition to his wife, survivors include - four children, Belinda (Terry) Leonard, Cynthia Young, Tom (Sandy) Haley Jr. and Sally (Lonnie) Noud; seven grandchildren, Brianne (Kevin), Neal, Chelsea, Thomas, Bryan, Matthew and Joshua; seven sisters, Addie Waldrop of TN, Marie Hogue of PA, Minnie (Estill) Johnson of KY, Peggy (James) Hicks of KY, Mary (Smitty) Burnette of MI, Fay (Thomas) Schmittou of MI and Anna (Ned) Lawson of MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Marsho Young, four sisters and three brothers. The funeral service will be 1 -00 P.M. Friday, January 28 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Grinnell officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park. Contributions in Mr. Haley’s memory may be made to the Faith Grinnell Chelation Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. Thursday and 11 -00 A.M. until time of service Friday.

Hansen, Mark
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 49, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005 at his home. He was born November 2, 1955 in Ypsilanti, the son of William and Barbara (Taylor) Hansen Jr. Mark was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and received his Masters of Divinity at Luther Rice Seminary. He served in the 2nd Division Marine Corps and was a first lieutenant. He loved to play the violin, lift weights and read books. Survivors include- one sister, Deborah (Gary) Britton of Ypsilanti; two brothers, Glen of Ypsilanti and Chris (Hope) Hansen of Hudson, MI; one niece, Christina; and one nephew, Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alan. The funeral service will be 2-00 P.M. Thursday, March 10 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Paul Richert of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 P.M. Wednesday.

Harless, Truman
Ypsilanti Township, MI

Age 75, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at home. He was born February 17, 1929 in Edgar, KY, the son of Ira and Mary Ethel (Laferty) Harless. He married Annie Belle McComis in KY and she preceded him in death October 9, 1984. Truman retired from Ford Motor Company, Sheldon Road plant. Survivors include- one daughter, Wanda (Bob) Garfield of Ypsilanti; two grandchildren, James Truman and Tyler Robert; five brothers, Oakey of KY, James (Edna Mae) of OH, Elzie Winston of KY, Winfred Dewey (Pam) of Plymouth, MI and Elmer (Patsy) of KY; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Joel David. The funeral service will be 11-00 A.M. Saturday, February 5 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kent Jennings of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Private burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 P.M. Thursday and 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. Friday.

Harris, John B.
Pinckney, MI
(formerly of Ypsilanti)

Age 68, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2005. He was born May 30, 1936 in Ypsilanti, the son of Dr. Bradley and Mildred Harris. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy. On October 26, 1968, he married Beulah Addington and she survives. John had been employed by Ford Motor Company, Ypsilanti plant for many years and was currently employed with Intier Automotive Seating. He was a history buff, especially military history, and enjoyed model-making, especially ships and airplanes. He was an avid chef and enjoyed his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 36 years, survivors include - son, John (Iris) Harris Jr. of Dexter; daughter, Vicki Waugh of MD; two stepsons, Jimmy D. (Carolyn) Anderson of Ypsilanti and Charles J. (Gerri) Anderson of Saline; one stepdaughter, Cheryl F. (Jim) Brown of Saline; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four brothers, David, Paul, Tom and Mark Harris; aunt Isabelle Harris; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 11 -00 A.M. Thursday, January 13 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Elder Gene Johnson of Ypsilanti Old Regular Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 6-9 P.M. Tuesday and 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. Wednesday.

Hensley, Blaine
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 71, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born September 12, 1933 in Bee Log, NC, the son of Samuel T. and Bertie A. (Tipton) Hensley. On August 29, 1989, he married Johnnie Painter in Toledo, OH and she survives. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from Ford Motor Company in 1989. Blaine was a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church and the Phoenix Lodge #13 F.&A.M.. He loved cooking, fishing and gardening. In addition to his wife Johnnie of Ypsilanti, survivors include- two daughters; one stepdaughter; one stepson; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. The funeral service will be 10-00 A.M. Friday, December 31 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Donald Viers officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. Thursday where a Masonic Service will be held at 7-00 P.M.

Hill, Willie Virginia
Belleville, MI

Age 79, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005 peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born August 24, 1925 in Union County, KY, the daughter of Nelson and Gladys (Scott) McCormick. On December 20, 1941, she married Herman Chester Hill and he survives. Mrs. Hill retired from South Lyon Public Schools in 1986 where she worked as a custodian. She loved to quilt, crochet and sew. In addition to her loving husband of 63 years, other survivors include- one son, Chester Herman (Ann) Hill of Belleville; one daughter, Sandra (Herman) Jones of Belleville; four grandchildren, Chester Howard Hill, Chester Herman Hill Jr., Kimberly Ann Hill and Donald Lee Jones; five great grandchildren; one brother, Nelson D. (Mary) McCormick of Brighton; two sisters, Margaret Williams of Evansville, IN and Betty Lou Hobbs of Chandler, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Lee Hill; two brothers, James W. McCormick and Jesse Eugene McCormick; and one sister, Mary Magdalene McCormick. The funeral service will be 2-00 P.M. Saturday, March 19 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home 6-9 P.M. Friday.

Hoppe, Helen V.
Walled Lake, MI

Age 90, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2005 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born August 20, 1914 in Detroit, the daughter of John and Marie (Horvath) Vaura. On April 21, 1934, she married Edward Hoppe in Detroit and he preceded her in death September 11, 1999. Survivors include- two daughters, Dianne Eddins of Brighton and Gail (John) Zinke of Rogers City, MI; three grandchildren, Karyn (Jeff) Eddins of CO, Sharon (Al) Hoover of Byron, MI and Jamie Wirgau of Rogers City; four great grandchildren, Marshall, Noelle, Anna and Grant; and one nephew. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Cremation has taken place. Contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice. Houck, Jeanette O.

Age 87, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2005. She was born November 22, 1917 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Herman and Lottie (Tolzdorf) Oltersdorf. On July 11, 1936, she married John C. Houck and he preceded her in death. G.G., as her great grandchildren knew her, loved her family, loved her flower garden and enjoyed life to its fullest. Her sense of humor, wit, and wisdom will be missed greatly by all those who knew her. Survivors include - her children, John C. and Darlene (Brown) Houck, Joanne M. (Houck) and H. Daniel Patierno, all of Yorktown, VA; sisters, Mrs. Joan (William) Loughrau of Canton and Mrs. Betty (William) Rider of Saline; brothers, Lester of Pine, AZ, Earl of Hollywood, FL, Clayton of Del Rio, TX, Fred of Suttons Bay, MI, Chas of Sun City, AZ, Harold of Ypsilanti and William of Dexter; grandchildren, Leah Patierno Smith and husband Jamie of Yorktown, VA and Jodie Houck Moore and husband James of Carlisle, PA; and the joy of her life, her four great grandchildren, Dillon, Cameron and Evan Smith of Yorktown, VA and Jack Moore of Carlisle, PA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Robert, Clair, Lawrence and Jimmy. The funeral service will be 11 -00 A.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Bomgren of Emmanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park. AGe 40, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2005. She was born June 13, 1964, to Delma and Annie (Watkins) Gaddy. Survivors include- her mother Annie; three children, Orby, Jessica and Matthew; four sisters and three brothers. The funeral service will be 1-30 P.M. Monday, February 7 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Cremation will follow. Memorials to American Heart Assoc. would be appreciated.
