Age 65, passed away August 10, 2005 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following an extended illness. She was born October 9, 1939 in Campbell County, TN, the daughter of Howard and Della (Phillips) Adkins. Survivors include- her husband, Harry; one son, David Vaughan of Belleville; and two grandchildren, Samantha and Trever Vaughan. The funeral service will be 1-30 P.M. Saturday, August 13 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Alban cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home 6-9 P.M. Friday.

Wright, Mattie H.
South Daytona Beach, FL
(formerly of Ypsilanti)

Age 86, passed away Friday, August 26, 2005. She was born April 22, 1919 in Magoffin, KY, the daughter of Thomas and Hannah Hazelett. She was a production repairman in the carburetor department for Ford Motor Company, Ypsilanti plant, for many years. She moved to Florida in 1980. Mrs. Wright was a loyal member of First Baptist Church of South Daytona, a member of the Hannah Sunday School Class and was active in the ReNEWers’ (senior) group. She befriended, adopted and fed many in her church. She was loved by many. Survivors include- brothers, Sammy Hazelett of Ypsilanti, Clyde and Thomas Hazelett Jr. both of Hagar Hill, KY; sisters, Ruth Centers of Paintsville, KY, Fannie Louise Ehrman of Shelby, OH and Sarah Ann Hazelett of Fort Wayne, IN; stepchildren, Pauline Holcomb of Ypsilanti, Clifford Dale Wright of Ann Arbor and Nila Thorpe of Caro, MI; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; stepdaughter, Betty Doerr; sisters, Eva Estep, Reva Castle, Katherine Cantrill and Julia Schwartz, who passed away August 23, 2005; and brothers, James W. and Johnny Hazelett. The funeral service will be 11-00 A.M. Thursday, September 1, 2005 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of South Daytona, 2197 Kenilworth Ave., South Daytona, FL 32119. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 6-9-00 P.M. Wednesday.

Young, Kevin

Age 49, passed away suddenly Monday, September 5, 2005. He was born December 18, 1955 in Ypsilanti, the son of Robert L. and Tommie E. (Conway) Young. Kevin was formerly the resident manager of the Romulus Salvation Army. Survivors include- two sisters, Connie (Robin) Emmonds of FL and Kay (James) Shopshire of AL; four brothers, Wes (Betty) Sorrell of Howell, Terry (Connie) Sorrell of Milan, Jeff (Regina) Young of AL and Keith (Connie) Young of AL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place. The memorial visitation will be 6-9 P.M. Friday, September 9 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Contributions may be made to either the Salvation Army or the American Diabetes Association.

Bennett, Caren Sue (Hudson)
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 57, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2005 at the University of MI Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 22, 1948 in Danville, WV, the daughter of Carl and Willo Dean (Rister) Hudson. She was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include- her soulmate, Brian R. Bennett; two daughters, Jessica (Jon Paul) Bennett of Ann Arbor and Paula Bennett of Ypsilanti; her identical twin sister, Linda Lou (Bill) Hudson Adams of Canton; two brothers, Dennis Clay Hudson of Ypsilanti and Tommy Clyde (Elanor) Hudson of Belleville; several nieces and nephews; her best friends, Pam, Debbie, Juanita and Judy; and every member of the Bennett family. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roger and Carl “Doll”. The funeral service will be 1-00 P.M. Thursday, December 29 at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, 410 Oregon Street, Ypsilanti with Pastor Calvin Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Billau, John J.
Milan, MI

Age 80 died December 26, 2005 at Saline Evangelical Home. He was born March 17, 1925 in Milan Twp to John and Sophie (Schwartzwalder) Billau. John retired from the City of Ann Arbor in 1986.
Survivors include his wife Joan, two daughters Virginia (Richard) Solarski of Tecumseh and Rita Cole of Plymouth, three grandchildren; Renee (Tim) Vannatter, Raymond (Traci) Solarski and Sara Cole, four great-grandchildren, Bradley and Benjamin Vannatter and Nicholas and Emily Solarski, one brother Ernest (Betty) Billau of Ann Arbor and two sisters, Dorothy Desbrough of Ann Arbor and Goldie Grimm of KY as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm where the funeral will be Thursday at 1-30pm with Rev. Thomas Schraeder of Christ Our King Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Macon cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Saline Evangelical Home.

Blakemore, Mabel M.
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 91, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Stony Creek House. She was born November 2, 1914 in Rives, TN, the daughter of James and Mary Alice (Brake) Fitz. On September 15, 1934, she married Mac Blakemore in Union City, TN and he preceded her in death February 27, 1977. Mabel worked at Weber’s Drug Store in Depot Town for over 20 years and was a member of Ridge Road Church of Christ. Survivors include- one daughter, Dale (Norman) Luebke of Hartland, MI; one son, Gary (Kathryn) of Ypsilanti; seven grandchildren, Stephen, Julie, Jeffrey, Erika, Susan, Ryan and Laura; nine great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Norma, one brother and one sister. The funeral service will be 11-00 A.M. Monday, December 19 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Mr. Gordon Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-8 P.M. Sunday.

Bommarito, Ninfa L.
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 90 died Tuesday evening, December 27, 2005 at home with her family by her side. She was born April 4, 1915 in Detroit to Joseph and Grace Lumetta. On October 10, 1935 she married Clement Bommarito in Detroit and he preceded her in death June 24, 1987. She and her husband owned and operated Stoney Creek Grocery for 14 years until 1982. Mrs. Bommarito was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Whittaker where she was active with CCW, an avid befriender and joyfully donated her hand painted artistry for many of the church fundraisers.
Survivors include three children; Clement, Jr. (Jean) of Plymouth, Grace Bommarito of Ypsilanti, and Judith (Robert) Spring of East Sound, Washington. Seven grandchildren; Ann, Jill, Meg, Sarah, Elizabeth, Patrick and Ellen, six great grandchildren; Jennifer, Amanda, Andrew, Alyssa, Christopher and Raphael “Bumpy”, a brother Joseph (Carol) Lumetta of St. Helens, and two sisters Elizabeth Bennett of Milan and Grace (Ronald) Trudell of Canton also survive.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Thursday from 4-8pm where a rosary will be recited at 7-30pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Whittaker where she will lie in state from 11-00am until time of service. Rite of Burial will follow in St. Joseph cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

Age 50, died December 24, 2005. Funeral service 11-00 A.M. Thursday, January 5, 2006 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE. Burial in Washtenong Memorial Park. Visitation at the funeral home 6-9 P.M. Wednesday.

Cox, Patricia Ann
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 70, passed away Friday, December 23, 2005 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born August 5, 1935 in Detroit, the daughter of Donald and Clara (Miller) Meade. Patricia married Arthur B. Jetke and he survives. She then married Ralph Norman Cox and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of the Ypsilanti Eagles for over 20 years. Survivors include- one daughter, Debra Clement of UT; two sons, Robert Michael (Patricia) Jetke of ID and James S. Jetke of Warren, MI; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; loving companion, Robert Hamilton of Ypsilanti; one brother, Donald (Lynn) Meade of CA; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son. The funeral service will be 11-00 A.M. Wednesday, December 28 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Fr. Nicholas Ritter of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Cremation will follow. Contributions may be made to the MI Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 2-9 P.M. Tuesday.

Davis III, Ned
Romulus, MI

Age 34, died suddenly Saturday, December 17, 2005 in Inkster, MI. He was born August 8, 1971 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Ned and Wanetta G. (Williams) Davis Jr. Ned grew up in Inkster and attended Robichaud High School. He worked as a construction worker. Ned is survived by- his father, Ned Davis Jr.; his mother, Wannetta Williams; his stepfather, Henry Coleman; five sons, Tyrik, Ned IV, David, Myles and Justin Davis; two sisters, Kawana Davis and Chalanda Williams; two brothers, Ronald Davis and Donnie Williams; nieces, Brianna Davis and Aviana Williams; nephews, Daniel, Amari, Nazir and Rontelle Davis; step grandfather, Wordner James; godparents, Donald and Jennie Ann Turner; great uncle, Garvin Freeman; great aunts, Tessie and Lois Freeman; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Terika Davis and Biaca Ree-nee Davis; brother, Daniel Davis; grandparents, Irvin Loyd and Junita Mae (Williams) James and Ned and Lizzie Bee Davis; uncle and aunt, John Lee and Maxine (Williams) Crout; uncle, George A. Williams; cousin, Geremy Williams; and a friend, “Cory.” The funeral service will be 11-00 A.M. Tuesday, December 27 at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, 1043 W. MI Avenue, Ypsilanti with Rev. Johnny Duckworth officiating. Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel 6-9 P.M. Monday where the family hour will be held from 7-8 P.M. There will also be visitation at the church from 10-00 A.M. until time of service Tuesday.

Fornwalt, Berma Jean
Ypsilanti, MI

Age 78, passed away peacefully Monday, December 12, 2005 at Four Seasons Nursing Center of Westland. She was born January 3, 1927 in Anniston, AL, the daughter of Richard and Flora (Smith) Haynes. Ms. Fornwalt worked for many years in the cafeteria at General Motors, Willow Run plant. Berma Jean was dedicated to her family and was an avid bingo player. Survivors include- two daughters, Glenda (Mike) Windels and Cheryl Meixner, both of Ypsilanti; two sons, Darrel Fornwalt and Steven Fornwalt, both of Ypsilanti; five grandchildren, Jason (Tracy) Davis, April Fornwalt, Lanea (Craig) Peplinski, Hanna Racine and Thomas Meixner; four great grandchildren, Jason Davis Jr., Jordan Davis, Craig Peplinski Jr. and Geninsis Racine; two sisters, Mildred Laney and Gladys Nunnely; one brother, Gerald Haynes; several nieces and nephews; and Bob Feltman, a special friend of the family. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Fornwalt, one daughter, Debra Fornwalt and the father of her children, Hershel Fornwalt. The funeral service will be 1-30 P.M. Friday, December 16 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Union-Udell cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Gee, Laura S.
Ypsilanti, MI
(formerly of Dundee)

Age 83, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2005 following an extended illness. She was born January 4, 1922 in Flint, MI, the daughter of William H. and Mabel C. (Wells) Trites. Laura started work at A.C. Spark Plug in Flint. She then worked for Ford Motor Company at the Saline, Rawsonville and Ypsilanti plants. Her hobbies included sketching, painting, crocheting and knitting. Survivors include- her spouse, William A. Stromach; four children, Martha Ann (Marvin) Deneau of Inkster, Marcia Sue (Mathew) Kavintus of Flushing, MI, Art Fry of Ypsilanti and Karen Dickey of Ypsilanti; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gee. The funeral service will be 2-00 P.M. Thursday, December 22 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Cremation will follow. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of service Thursday.

Green, TeResa C., Ph.D
Ypsilanti Township, MI

Age 55, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born October 19, 1950 in Detroit, the daughter of Marrell and Mattie (Rice) Flowers. On February 15, 1992, she married Paul S. Green in Farmington Hills, MI and he survives. TeResa was an associate professor at Eastern MI University and was a member of Hartford Baptist Memorial Church. In addition to her loving husband of 13 years, survivors include- three daughters, Nikole R. Holzman, Terricka L. (James) Bailey and LaToya N. Robinson; two grandchildren, LeAna Simpson and James Bailey; two sisters, Daittra M. (Juan) Lopez and Mary (Steve) Carter; brother, Damon B. (Adria) Flowers; five nieces and nephews, Pamela D. Coin, Terrance C. Coin, Lee A. Flowers, D Adria S. Flowers and Damon B. Flowers II; one grand nephew, Jordan Coin Jackson; and a host of other family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Contributions in TeResa’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel.
