Age 72, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian. She was born June 29, 1936 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to George and Eleanor E. (Cook) Lutz. On August 30, 1974 she married Larry Head and he survives. In addition to her husband she is survived by her six children Tom (Viki) Gotts, John (Debi) Gotts both of Milan, Tim (Carron) Gotts of Clinton, Tony (Jenny) Gotts, Joel (Heather) Gotts both of Milan, Jennifer (Gotts) Howard of Brooklyn, three step-children Lori (Tom) Smith, Dan (Carie) Head, Betsy (David) Kanitz all of Milan, sisters Marion Badenoch of Ophelia, VA, Marjorie (Larry) McConnell of Sturgis, 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her dog Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 11am to 1pm where a memorial service will be held at 1pm followed by a celebration of life reception at the Milan Moose on Sanford Rd. Howard, James J.
Ypsilanti, MI (formerly of Ann Arbor)
Age 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Gilbert Residence. He was born June 13, 1914 in Memphis, MO, the son of J. Benson and Florence L. (Smith). He came to Ann Arbor in the late thirties, where he met his future bride, Hazel Gedstad. They were married sixty-two years. Hazel preceded him in death December 23, 2002. Mr. Howard was employed by S.S. Kresge for 36 years, retiring in 1976. Survivors include- two daughters, Joan (John) Calder of Loveland, OH and Kathleen (Richard) Timmons of Saline, MI; four grandchildren, J. Scott (Shari) Calder, John (Kerri) Calder, Kelly (Ryan) Miller and Jennifer (Larry) Bishop; and six great-grandchildren, Brittany, Allison and Kayla Calder and Julian, Zachary and Maren Miller. The memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 201 N. River St. Ypsilanti at 11-00 am Thursday, March 5, 2009. The family will receive friends from 10-00 am until the time of service. Memorials in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements handled through Stark Funeral Service.

Kennedy, Linda R.
Van Buren Township, MI
Age 45, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 at home. She was born March 28, 1963 in Ypsilanti, the daughter of James A. and Rose M. (Richardson) Kennedy. Linda was employed by the University of MI for over twenty years. Survivors include- her father, James Kennedy; one brother, James (Dorothy) Kennedy; one sister, Joanne Kennedy; and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose. The funeral service will be 12 noon Friday, March 6, 2009 at Community Church of God, 565 Jefferson, Ypsilanti.. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, 20300 Civic Center Drive, Suite 250, Southfield, MI 48076-4154. Envelopes are available at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends 5-9 pm Thursday with the family hour from 7-8 pm. There will also be visitation at church from 11 am until time of service Friday.

Mackey, Hoyt
Ypsilanti, MI
Age 79, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born February 8, 1930 in Corbin, KY, the son of Alexander and Minnie (Floyd) Mackey. On September 9, 1950, he married Jewell Hubbs in Ann Arbor and she survives. Hoyt worked at Quannix Tube and Mill in South Lyon for 30 years. He was a member of Graceway Baptist Church in Ypsilanti and he served in the U.S. Army. Hoyt loved to be with his family. In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, survivors include- two sons, Randy Mackey and Ronnie Mackey, both of Ypsilanti; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Dimple (Bill) Landay of TN; two nieces and one nephew. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister. The funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Keith Worrell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to Graceway Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 2-8 pm Tuesday.

Marsh, Eva Raye
Ypsilanti, MI
Age 88, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born May 10, 1920 in Cliffside, NC, the daughter of the late William C. and Josephine (Womick) Hightower. On April 25, 1946, she married John Fredrick Marsh in Burlington, MI and he preceded her in death June 30, 1990. Survivors include- two daughters, Jo Anne (Joseph) Miano and Micki (Ron) Szych; four grandchildren, Michael J. (Jennifer) Miano, Angela R. (Michael) Boyd, Biago A. (Kimberly) Miano and Andrea R. (David) Engle; six great grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Michael, Marisa, Alyssa and Vincenzo; one brother, W.C. (Lorelei) Hightower II of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Juanita Shytles of Newnan, GA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Greeley and Betty Jo Childers. The memorial service will be 11 am Friday, March 13, 2009 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 201 N. River Street, Ypsilanti with Rev. David A. Hendricks officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the church. Envelopes are available at the church where the family will greet friends from 10 am until time of service Friday. Private burial will take place Saturday in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixboro, MI. Arrangements handled through Stark Funeral Service.

Martin, Sophronia (Hall)
Ypsilanti, MI
Age 78, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7, 2009. She was born April 30, 1930 in Ritchie, KY, the daughter of Irving and Claudia (Ritchie) Hall. On July 3, 1953, she married Johnny Martin. She retired from Ford Motor Company after 26 years. She was proud of her family history and could trace her relatives to her great grandfather, who fought in the Civil War. Survivors include- one son, Johnny R. Martin of IN; four grandchildren, Douglas, Christopher, Tela and John; three great grandchildren, Jessica, Gabrielle and Mia; two sisters, Mary Jean (Ozel) Ritchie of KY and Patsy Sue (William) Neville of GA; son-in-law, Douglas Britton of Ypsilanti; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a great number of wonderful friends, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Dorothy Jean Britton, two sisters and two brothers. The funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Arborcrest Memorial Park. McWilliams, Mildred
Ypsilanti, MI
Age 91, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born January 5, 1918 in Olive Hill, KY, the daughter of Hovie and Mallie (Reeder) Dean. On November 25, 1950, she married Fred D. McWilliams in Toledo, OH and he preceded her in death February 14, 1994. They lived in El Dorado, AR for 21 years, moving back to Michigan because of illness. Mildred was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Ypsilanti. She was a homemaker all her life and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include- one son, Gene Wallace of Mesquite, NV; one daughter, Mary Levinski of Ypsilanti; six grandchildren, Vickie (Alan) Pfeiffer, Johnny (Heather) Wallace, Richie Wallace, Gina (Sean) Cook, Corinia (Maxwell) Maria and Robbie Wallace; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita (Greely) Caudill and Lois (Allen) Brown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Sharon Levinski-Patterson; two brothers and two sisters. The funeral service will be 11-00 am Friday, March 6, 2009 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brent Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in Alban cemetery. Monty, Donald S.
Willis, MI
Age 62, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009. He was born May 21, 1946 in Ypsilanti, the son of Harold and Genevieve (Strayer) Monty. Don was retired from the Wayne County Road Commission. Don served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors include- his misses, Sharon Taylor; four children, Scott (Sandra) Monty, Glen (Shere Zehel) Monty, Greg (Renae) Taylor and Barb (John Myers) Blackwell; fifteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; his dad, Theodore (Velma) Montie; one brother, Bob Monty; one sister, Rene' Osinski; and his beloved dog, Dutchess. The funeral service will be 11-00 am Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Michigan Memorial Park Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer society. Naylor, Rosa Bell
Ypsilanti Twp., MI
Age 86, passed away February 27, 2009. Survivors include- one daughter, Doreen (Chris) Smith; grandchildren, Len Naylor and Rosa Smith; and two great grandchildren. Family hour 10-11-00 am Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Messias Temple Church, Ypsilanti, with funeral at 11-00 am. Burial in Union-Udell cemetery.

O'Banner Jr., John Wesley
Ypsilanti, MI
Age 67, John Wesley O'Banner Jr., affectionately known as Bo to family and friends, made his transition February 20, 2009 at the University of MI Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born September 3, 1941 in Itta Bena, MS, the son of John W. and Elgie (Johnson) O'Banner Sr. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A retiree from Eastern Michigan University, he enjoyed traveling, listening to and singing gospel music. Survivors include- his loving wife of 46 years, Christine; his loving children, Melvin (Gwen) of Greenwood, MS, Gary (Kristin) of Moorpark, CA, Dwayne of Ypsilanti, Brenda of Ypsilanti, Amelia (Charles) of Itta Bena, MS and Angela of Ypsilanti; his loving brothers and sisters, L.C. (Hattie) of Chicago, IL, J.C. of Itta Bena, MS, Cleave (Earline) of Ypsilanti, Alvin of Itta Bena, MS, Fred of Greenwood, MS, Johnnie (George) Grantham of Ypsilanti, Emma McKinney of Jackson, MS, Barbara (Ernie) Johnson of Fort Wayne, IN and Valerie Gaines of Jackson, MS; daughters of honor, Roseanne Jackson of Pascagoula, MS and Willie Mae Braggs of Mobile, AL; and a host of extended family and dear friends. His son, John Welsey III, his parents and brothers, Henry and Jesse preceded him in death. The homegoing service will be 11-00 am Saturday, February 28, 2009 at God's City of Refuge, 34584 Beverly Road, Romulus, MI. Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Friday at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel and also at the church from 10 am until time of service Saturday.

Rickelmann, James A.
Clinton, MI
Formerly of Milan Age 82, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 29, 1926 in Ann Arbor to Andrew and Bertha (Rebman) Rickelmann. On October 16, 1948 he married Erville Martin in Detroit and she preceded him in death on September 13, 2007. Mr. Rickelmann served in the Navy during WWII and retired from Saline Ford Plant in 1985. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Milan, the American Legion Post 268, Loyal Order of the Moose #335 Milan and UAW Local 892. Survivors include five sons Martin (Vicki) of Cumberland, MD, Paul of Dayton, OH, Robert and Tim both of Baltimore, MD, Matt of Milan, three daughters Barbara (Mike) LaFleur of Ypsilanti, Marilyn Morawski of Milan, Pam Rickelmann of Clinton, four brothers Richard (Barb), Norbert (Mary), Tom (Audrey), Edwin (Pat), four sisters Ruth Rickelmann, Joan (Bob) Monforton, Delores (Don) Alvesteffer, Mary Lou (Bob) Kramer, 18grandchildren, and 24great-grandchildren. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by two brothers Bernard, Elmer and son-in-law Robert Morawski. Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan today from 2-8pm where a rosary will be recited at7-30pm. The Funeral Liturgy begins 10-30am Monday at the funeral home with procession to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for Mass at11-00 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Marble Park cemetery. Stoddard, Delores A.
Ypsilanti, MI
Age 60, beloved daughter, sister and friend, passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday, February 24, 2009. She was born February 21, 1949 in Ypsilanti, the daughter of Kenneth P. and Reba (McMillan) Stoddard. Delores was a faithful member of South Side Baptist Tabernacle. Survivors include- her mother, Reba Stoddard; four sisters, Jeannie Childers, Dorene Lore, Janet Gay and Kathy Campbell; one brother, Terry (Imogene) Stoddard; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth and one brother, Keith A. Stoddard. The funeral service will be 11-00 am Friday February 27, 2009 at South Side Baptist Tabernacle, 6710 Textile Road, Ypsilanti. Burial will follow in Union-Udell cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 pm Thursday at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel and at the church from 10 am until time of service Friday.

Suarez, Rafael R.
Ypsilanti, MI
Age 91, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Saline Community Hospital with his family by his side. He was born December 8, 1917 in Ann Arbor, the son of Rafael P. and Helen M. (Ravn) Suarez. He was a 1935 graduate of St. Thomas High School in Ann Arbor. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and later served with the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Suarez was retired from General Motors, Hydra-Matic Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post #282, the Yankee Air Force and was a past member of the Ypsilanti Auxiliary Police Officers. Rafael loved music and played several instruments. Survivors include- his loving wife of 64 years, Hazel; three sons, Dennis Suarez of St. Petersburg, FL, Michael Suarez of Superior Township and Donald (Connie) Suarez of Ypsilanti; one daughter, Marilou Suarez of Ann Arbor; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four sisters; one brother; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Ralph. The funeral mass will be 10-00 am Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 410 W. Cross Street, Ypsilanti. Burial will follow in St. John cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Huron Valley Humane Society. Envelopes are available at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel where the family will greet friends 2-4 & 6-9 pm Tuesday and at the church from 9 am until time of mass Wednesday.

Vanover, Emilee Faith

19 month old daughter of Jimmy and Kimberley Vanover, passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at her home with her loving family by her side. The funeral service will be 11-00 am Monday, February 23, 2009 at Stark Funeral Service, Ypsilanti with Rev. Jim Castleman of First Baptist Church of Wyandotte officiating. Burial will follow in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. In loving memory of Emilee, contributions may be made to the family. Lewis C. Dunn
04/21/1942 - 06/02/2012
Lewis Dunn, age 70, of Tecumseh, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, at his home. He was born April 21, 1942, in New York, New York, the son of Lewis W. and Alice J. (Barker) Dunn. He married Mindy Aronwits on March 25, 1986, and she survives.
Lewis attended McGill University in Montreal before becoming a restaurateur. He owned two restaurants and was a catering manager for over 30 years before he retired in 1995.
In addition to his wife, Lewis is survived by two daughters, Annie Dunn of Grand Rapids, and Bailey Dunn of Ann Arbor; and one sister, Terrie (Donn) Venema of La Center, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents.
At his request cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering to celebrate Lewis' life will be held Tuesday, June 5, from 2-4 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Humane Society of your choice.

Diane R Inman

Diane R. Inman, 67, of Clinton passed away June 6, 2012 at home under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice and with her loving family at her bedside. She was born November 14, 1944 in Albion, MI, the daughter Joyce Louise (Ottmer) Hakes. She was married to Garold D. Inman, Sr. on August 25, 1973. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2009.
Diane worked at Ford Motor Company in Saline for 29 years until retiring in 1995. She was a member of Rebecca Lodge #249 in Onsted and also a member of S.M.I.L.E.S. at Clinton Schools and was an avid card player. Diane was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Clinton.
Diane is survived by a son, Brent (Jennifer) Vincent of Tecumseh; daughter, Cindy (Michael) Karapas of Saline; brother, David (Ruth) Pratt of Manistee, MI; sister, Brenda (Ron) Brigham of Parma, MI; six grandchildren Joseph, Amara, Nick, Tyee, Anna, and Amber; one great grandchild; also two step-daughters, and one step-son. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-daughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
At her request cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, June 18 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Episcopal Church, Clinton with Shirley Campbell, Worship Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place in Maple Grove cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
