Billie Jo Brunnet

IRON MOUNTAIN - Billie Jo Brunnet, 43, of Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 10, 1963, in Fremont, Ohio.

She married Scott Brunnet on Aug.11, 1996, in Fremont, Ohio.

Billie Jo enjoyed crafts, spending time with her cats, and telling jokes.

She is survived by her husband, Scott; daughter, Hannah Sheldon and three sisters.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home with the arrangements.

Cecile M. Cousineau

HARDWOOD - Cecile Mary Cousineau, 67, of Hardwood, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family.

Cecile was born May 7, 1939, to Paul and Marie (Blais) Gauthier. She was raised on a dairy farm in Shaffer. She graduated Holy Name High School in Escanaba.

She married Jim Cousineau of Hardwood at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shaffer on Aug. 9, 1958.

The St. Joseph Catholic Church of Foster City was blessed to have Cecile as a member and benefited because of her unselfish dedication of nearly 50 years. She served as CCD teacher, Altar Society, parish council, organist, choir member, and chaired the annual Parish Picnic for many years. Cecile was a hard worker and a caregiver to many.

She placed a high value on family whom she loved and enjoyed spending time with. She was always seen watching her children and then grandchildren in all extra curricular events. She especially enjoyed watching them play sporting events. Cecile was an excellent cook and homemaker. She enjoyed traveling with family and close friends to Florida, Colorado, Alaska, Missouri and the Dakotas.

In addition to her husband, Cecile is survived by four daughters, Karen Bougie of Escanaba, Janice (Bill) Goudreau of Kingsford, Lynn (Darrell) Oman of Felch, and Sue (Tom) VanHulla of Niagara, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, Brandy and Cole Bougie, Mike Cousineau, Ryan, Adam and Amanda Goudreau, Marie (Travis) Johnson, Emily and Brittany Oman, and Joe and James VanHulla; two great-grandchildren, Maggie Bougie and Mya Jacobsen; her brother, Maurice Gauthier; sisters, Jacquelin Whitens, and Louise Legault, all of Escanaba along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to Cecile's parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Alice Gauthier and sisters, Jeannette LaFave and Elise Bush; a brother, Raymond Gauthier and son-in-law, Dan Bougie.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Central time) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City.

Fr. Richard Mroz will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Burial will be at the Foster City cemetery.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to St. Joseph Church.

Luncheon will be served at the church following the services.

The Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home is serving the family.

Ida A. Rozich

KINGSFORD - Ida A. Rozich, 96, of 220 Newton St., Kingsford, passed away, Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara.

She was born on April 13, 1911, in Hermansville, the daughter of the late Matthew and Anna (Novak) Kure. She has been a resident of this area for most of her life.

Ida married Joseph J. Rozich on June 22, 1929, in Iron Mountain and he preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1964.

She had been an active member of American Martyrs Church until she made her home at Maryhill Manor in 2005. Ida was known and remembered by her family, friends, and neighbors for her expertise at cooking and baking Croatian delicacies.

Ida is survived by her daughters, Angie (Victor) Zanoni of Quinnesec and Marge (Don) Hamari of Kingsford; three brothers, Matt (Helen) Kure and Frank Kure, both of Seattle, and Bill (Joan) Kure of Farmington, Mo.; one sister, Frances (Art) Treckler of Berwyn, Ill.; five grandchildren, Dan Zanoni, Vicki (fiance, Mark Dulski) Zanoni, Patti (Terry) Lidbeck, Diane (Paul) Donaldson and JoAnn (Rich) Donaldson; six great-grandchildren, Melissa and Kevin Lidbeck and Stephen, David, Lauren and Erika Donaldson; one great-great grandson, Christopher; step-grandchildren, Slavko, Drago and Joseph Rozich and families and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Zanoni; a brother, Nick Kure, three sisters, Mary Bosilovatz, Katherine Procich and Laura Cerveny; a stepson, Yanko Rozich and two step-grandsons, Yanko and Steve Rozich.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of the Christian burial.

Burial will be in cemetery Park.

Pallbearers will be Dan Zanoni, Terry and Kevin Lidbeck and Paul, David and Rich Donaldson.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home with the funeral arrangements.

Sharon Ann Hammond

IRON MOUNTAIN - Sharon Ann Hammond, 55, of Helena, Mont., formerly of Kingsford, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at St. Peter's Hospital in Helena.

She was born Dec. 13, 1951, in Detroit, daughter of the late John (Ziggy) and Pauline (Hollis) George. Sharon lived in the Detroit area and was a graduate of Osborn High School.

In 1973, Sharon and her family moved to Kingsford, were she enjoyed living for 29 years. She owned and operated Variety Catering with her mother, Pauline George, since 1984. In 2002, she moved to Helena, to be close to her daughter and son-in-law.

Sharon was a great cook and many people had the opportunity to enjoy her wonderful food, she loved to dance, and go to the rodeos in Montana.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan (Dan) Hill of Helena, and many friends.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 1 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.

Burial will be in cemetery Park.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home to handle the arrangements.

Lubelle G. "Lu" Anderson

Kingsford - Lubelle G. "Lu" Anderson, 95, of Kingsford died Thurs. April 26, 2007 at Hyland Nursing Home. She was born on Nov. 29, 1911 in Lamoure, ND, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Emily (Meyer) Blatchford.

Lu was a dietary aide at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and was a cook at the Crystal Lake Senior Center. She retired at the age of 74 to care for her great granddaughter, Kara. Lu enjoyed reading and gardening. She loved animals, having many cats and dogs throughout the years. She cherished her dog Rocky.

Lu married George E. Anderson in May of 1938 in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death in 1972.

She is survived by one daughter Carole Garnsey of Iron Mountain, one sister Gladys Stowell of Oregon, two grandsons Gene Plante of Kingsford and Craig (Beth) Plante of Charleston, SC, three great grandchildren Kara Plante, Leah, Rebecca, and Nathan Plante, and many nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Mon. from 3:30-4pm at Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 4pm Mon. at the funeral home. Rev. Steve Petry will officiate. Burial will be in cemetery Park.

The family has entrusted the Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home with the arrangements.

Louis J. Occhietti

IRON MOUNTAIN - Louis J. Occhietti, 82, of Iron Mountain died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain.

He was born on June 24, 1924, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Natale and Minnie (Di Biase) Occhietti.

Louis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He worked for the City of Iron Mountain and the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, retiring in 1977. After his retirement he went to work for J and J Security. He was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and going to the casino. He also enjoyed listening to music, singing and dancing. Louis loved to make many creative inventions and projects in his workshop.

Louis married Rosemary Tichelaar on May 6, 1950, at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. The couple enjoyed traveling, including a trip to Europe. They also spent many winters in Tucson, Ariz.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; a son, David Occhietti of North Carolina; a daughter, Donna (Joseph) Krall of Canton, Mich.; three grandchildren, Kristal Occhietti of Kingsford, Joseph Krall Jr. of Canton, and Kylene Occhietti of St. Cloud, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Alexis and Lindsey Aichner and Evi Hebbeln; uncle, Frank Di Biase of Iron Mountain and many cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tondin-Ross and Freeman Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Entombment will be in cemetery Park.

The family has entrusted the Tondin-Ross and Freeman Funeral Home with the arrangements.

Harold Charlevoix

HARDWOOD - Harold Charlevoix, 80, of Hardwood, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.

He was born on Sept. 1, 1926, in Detroit, son of the late Steven and Margaret (Murray) Charlevoix. He and his family moved here from Detroit when he was 17 and he graduated from Felch High School.

He married Alice Robinette in 1949 in Milwaukee, at St. Anthony Church. While in Milwaukee, he worked for Harley Davidson and Nash. He also played minor league baseball for the AAA ball club in Oconomowoc, Wis., where he pitched several no hitters.

Upon moving back to Hardwood, Harold worked at the Foster City Cheese Factory for a short time before becoming an equipment operator and foreman for the Dickinson County Road Commission for 33 years until his retirement in 1988. He spent his entire life working hard, whether it was with the road commission driving his grader or working with his father at his dad's garage in Foster City every Saturday.

Harold was also known for being there for his children, grandchildren, and anyone in need of help with any kind of project. While in Hardwood he played baseball for the Tri-County League, Foster City-Hardwood Bluebirds, and later played many years for the Felch Rangers. His love of baseball led him to coach the Hardwood Wood Ticks little league team. He was known to most as Harold 'Pappy' Charlevoix during his baseball years.

He loved hunting, playing golf, woodworking, and played a mean hand of cribbage. He enjoyed building airplane models, the bigger the better and he would fly them at home. He also built an airplane from a kit, and all it needed was the engine to be flown. He was a wonderful artist and had a real talent for putting things together. He loved all kids and was one of those people whom all kids loved, even those who didn't know him. Being at camp with family brought him great joy; he especially loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and always had a treat for the family pets.

Harold was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City.

Harold is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice (Robinette) Charlevoix of Hardwood; children, Kathy (Butch) Dabb of Iron Mountain, Don (Teresa Grunlund) Charlevoix of Vulcan, and Gary (Lorna Lavigne) Charlevoix of Escanaba; brothers, Robert Charlevoix of Wakefield and Steve (Marilyn) Charlevoix of Foster City; sister, Jan (Pat) Milligan of Foster City; grandchildren Jeff (Tina) Dabb, Jodi (Dan) Mitts, Joe Charlevoix, Holly Charlevoix, Jill Leisner, Stacy Leisner, and Kari Charlevoix; and great-grandchildren, Todd Edwards and MaKenna Dabb.

Harold is also survived by numerous friends and family.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Ann Carl and a granddaughter, Crystal Kay Charlevoix.

The visitation is scheduled for Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Dick Mroz will officiate.

Burial will be at the Foster City cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home with the arrangements.

Carol E. Galeazzi

Iron Mountain - Carol E. Galeazzi, 64, of Iron Mountain, died Mon. April 23, 2007 at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford after a five year battle with cancer. She was born on Oct. 17, 1942 in Marquette, MI, the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Harris) Alexander.

Carol worked for twelve years as a waitress at the Roma Restaurant. She then went to work at Rocconi's as a clerk for 31 years, retiring on July 1, 2004. Carol was a very dedicated worker.

Carol enjoyed being with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She was an avid Mountaineer fan, attending all of her grandchildren's games. She was also a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She married Albert Galeazzi on Feb. 27, 1960 in Iron Mountain.

Carol is survived by her husband Albert, two sons Albert (Maureen) Galeazzi of Iron Mountain and Jay (Lisa Mendina) Galeazzi of Norway; one brother Wallace Alexander of Marquette, two sisters Sally (Jack) Fleury of Marquette, and Kathleen "Babe" Gardiepy of Iron Mountain, four grandchildren Angela, Billy Jo, Philip, and Marisa Galeazzi, two great grandchildren Olyvea and Dakota Galeazzi and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Ronald Alexander.

Visitation will be Weds. from 4-7pm at Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral home. Funeral services will be Thurs. at 11am at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in cemetery Park.

The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Randy P. Spigarelli

Iron Mountain - Randy P. Spigarelli, 51, of Iron Mountain, died Sun. April 22, 2007 at his home due to complications of diabetes. He was born on Aug. 10, 1955 in Iron Mountain, the son of Beulah and Orlando Spigarelli.

Randy graduated from Mankato Technical College in 1979. He worked as a computer programmer, working all across the United States. He worked for Republic Airlines in Minneapolis, Continental Airlines in Los Angeles, Bank of America in San Francisco, American Airlines in New York, Walgreens in Chicago, and the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. He also worked for companies in Colorado and Texas.

Randy enjoyed carpentry and had made a grandfather clock.

He is survived by his mother Beulah of Iron Mountain; one brother Donald (Judy) Larson of Iron Mountain; four sisters Dixie Brown of Iron Mountain, Sherry Christ of Adrian, MI, Sally (Douglas) Beauchamp of Iron Mountain, and Tammy Spigarelli of Iron Mountain; 7 nieces and nephews Jason (Marybeth) Brown, Heather (Billy) Brown Hughes, Kelly (Jacque) Larson Lemire, Grant (Simone) Brown, Lanny (Lee) Larson Brown, Katie Christ, and Ross Beauchamp; many great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Orlando, two brothers-in-law Richard Brown and Jerry Christ; and a great niece Clara Brown.

A memorial service will be held on Sat. April 28, 2007 at 11am at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Father Charles Piper will officiate. Burial will be in cemetery Park.

The family has entrusted the Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home with the arrangements.
