Anita Mariucci
IRON MOUNTAIN - Anita Mariucci, 45, of Springfield, Ill., died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Feb. 9, 1957, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Mario and Lorraine (Nolda) Mariucci.
Anita attended Northern Michigan University and earned a bachelor's degree in business with an accounting minor.
After graduation from college, she worked in retail management for several businesses including Shopko for 11 years and Burlington Coat Factory for a number of years. For the last six years she was the area manager of Dollar General Stores and managed 15 to 36 stores for them.
Anita loved to travel, watch movies, play cards and loved Christmas songs all year long.
She is survived by a special friend, Karen Vollmer of Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Denise (Winfield) Rowell of Iron Mountain and Jessica (Steven) Kurylowicz of Ada, lower Michigan; a brother, Jeff (Peggy) Mariucci of Charlotte, lower Michigan; two nieces, Summer Mariucci of Charlotte and Becky Rowell of Iron Mountain; a nephew, Brandon Rowell of Burnsville, Minn.; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and her cat, Sammy Susan, whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate.
Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.

Margaret Erickson
IRON MOUNTAIN - Margaret Erickson, 92, of Breitung Township died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1910, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Setimo and Madeline (Ortalda) Brosio. She was a 1929 Iron Mountain graduate.
Margaret married Albert Erickson in 1935. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1982.
She had been a resident of the area for most of her life. She lived in Illinois from 1955 to 1967 and then returned to the area.
Margaret was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain, she was very active in the Amidon Follies, Italian Women's Club, Paisano Club and former Daughters of Isabella.
She enjoyed knitting, gardening and participating in the Amidon Follies.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Carol (Robert) Weiland of Hamilton Lakes and Dianne (Fred) Rommel of Iron Mountain; two sisters, Mary Broullire of Iron Mountain and Emma Bartolameolli of Mount Prospect, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Erickson; a brother, Domenic Brosio; three sisters, Anna Zaio, Caroline Querio and Antonette Bugni, and a daughter-in-law, Rita Erickson.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.

Linda Steinbrecher
FELCH - Linda K. Steinbrecher, 53, of W5806 Groveland Mine Road, Felch, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at her home.
Linda was born Oct. 27, 1948, in Marquette, daughter of the late Bennett and Betty Jane (Kermode) Lehto. She graduated from Kingsford High School in 1967 and went on to receive her beautician license.
Linda married Fabian Steinbrecher on June 6, 1970 at St. Joseph's Church in Foster City.
She worked in the warehouse on the family farm for several years. Linda also worked at the Riverside Deli in Spread Eagle, Wis. for a number of years.
In 1995, Linda started working at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital as a dietary aid. She loved her job and made many instant friendships. Linda went to work no matter what the weather conditions.
In her last days she never complained once about her situation or the pain she was in, but still always thought of others first, right up until the end.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Foster City, and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Linda loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Fabian; two sons, John (Becky) Steinbrecher of Iron Mountain and Rusty (Jillian) Steinbrecher of Felch; three brothers, Ben Lehto of Merriman, Brian (Joanie) Lehto of Iron Mountain and Barry (Suzanne) Lehto of Marrian, Kan.; three grandchildren, Taylor, Alexandra, and McKenzie Steinbrecher; special friend, sister-in-law, and a woman who was like the sister she never had, Mary Pat Steinbrecher; and also a special friend, Helen Mattson; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Steinbrecher, in 1995.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain and today from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Foster City. Parish prayers were recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Fr. George Kuppayil offered the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial was in Foster City cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain with the arrangements.

Earl Gauthier
KINGSFORD - Earl F. Gauthier, 51, of Kingsford died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born March 13, 1951, in Iron Mountain, son of Arthur and Lorraine (Beaudry) Gauthier. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1969, and had been a resident of the area his entire life.
Earl married Donna Schwei on Jan. 9, 1993.
He co-owned and operated Ed Gauthier & Sons Excavating Co. with his brother, Ronald and his uncle, Richard, since 1972.
Earl was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford and the Operating Engineers AFL-CIO Local 324.
He was a very hard worker, Earl loved to buy and restore all types of equipment. He enjoyed tending to his lawn, working in his shop, the Packers and going to camp.
Earl will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; a son, Matthew Gauthier of Kingsford; a daughter, Jami Osborn of Las Vegas, Nev.; two stepdaughters, Christine (Dean) Hamacher of Kingsford and Laura (Ron) Lindlbaur of Kingsford; his parents, Arthur and Lorraine Gauthier of Florence, Wis.; seven brothers and sisters, Ronald (Sylvia) Gauthier of Kingsford, Thomas (Barb) Gauthier of Kingsford, Cynthia (Michael) Manderfield of Houghton, Patricia (Leon) Caruthers of Houghton, Joan (Bob) Curran of Wausau, Wis., John (Dianne) Gauthier of Iron Mountain and Peter Gauthier of Florence, and four grandchildren, Shane 'Stanley' Gauthier, Zack Hamacher, Paige Lindlbaur, and Brigette Lindlbaur. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. today at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory for the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.

LeRoy Baker
IRON MOUNTAIN - LeRoy F. Baker, 79, of Aurora, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wis.
He was born May 14, 1923, in Fayette, Delta County, son of the late William and Jane (Barrow) Baker. He had been a resident of Aurora, Wis. for the past six years moving there from Menominee. He graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Escanaba.
LeRoy was a tech sergeant in the U.S. Army and served during World War II from Oct. 20, 1942 until Dec. 21, 1945. He was stationed in London, England and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and in Ramagon.
He went on to work and latter retired from the Ansul Chemical Co. in Marinette, Wis.
LeRoy married Alice ( Perkins) Corwin on June 12, 1987, in Menominee.
He was a member of the American Legion Kingsford Post, post commander of the M&M; Yacht Club in Menominee and was also an active member of the Menominee Legion Post for many years.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Alice; sons, John (Connie) Baker of Menominee and Michael (Jodi) Baker of Menominee; a daughter, Lynn (Bruce) Clark of Pensacola Beach, Fla.; stepchildren, Gary (Ann) Corwin of Stephenson and Sandra (Kenneth) Schuette of Jackson, Wis.; four brothers, James 'Jim' Baker of Escanaba, Lloyd Baker of Escanaba, William 'Bill' Baker of Escanaba and Jack 'John' Baker of Escanaba; his grandchildren, Amber Baker of Menominee, Leanne (Shea) Daniel of Menominee and Michael Baker of Menominee; 12 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren, and an aunt, Evelyn Creton of Gladstone.
There will be a gathering from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Deacon Don Christy will officiate.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with arrangements.

Jeffrey Schuelke
IRON MOUNTAIN - Jeffrey D. Schuelke, 48, of 304 Lyman St., Kingsford, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at Marquette General Hospital.
He was born May 28, 1954, in Iron Mountain, son of Frederick and Diane (Erickson) Schuelke. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1973 and had been a resident of this area his entire life.
Jeff worked for several years as a sales representative for U.P. Electric and most recently worked for Brooks Electric.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing softball.
Jeff loved spending time with his son.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane on Dec. 20, 1994.
Jeff is survived by his son, Chad of Kingsford; his father, Fred of Kingsford; his brothers and sisters, Brian (Sally) Schuelke of Florence, Wis., Shelley (Paul) McDermid of Green Bay, Wis., Scott (Vicki) Schuelke of Quinnesec, Lisa (Scott) Edlund of Kingsford, Wendy Schuelke of Kingsford and Becky (Jerry) Pugh of Quinnesec; six nieces and nephews, and a great-nephew.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the Quinnesec cemetery.
A memorial will be established in his memory.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
