Edith Semrau
IRON MOUNTAIN--Edith L. Semrau, 97, formerly of Iron Mountain, died Friday, December 6, 2002 at the New Care Convalescent Center in Crivitz, WI. She was born August 16, 1905 in Marinette, WI, daughter of the late August and Louise (Peterson) Olson. Edith lived in Chicago for many years and had worked for the Pullman Railroad for over 30 years. She has been a resident of this area since 1979. Edith enjoyed music and had taught piano lessons in Chicago and in this area.
She is survived by one sister- Helen (Art) Dahl of Kingsford and two nephews. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and by several sisters.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Iron Mountain cemetery Park.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.

Kenneth Maycunich
IRON MOUNTAIN--Kenneth T. Maycunich, 68, of W7775 Lake Antoine Rd. South, Breitung Township, died Friday, December 6, 2002 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain. Ken was born March 29, 1934 in Escanaba, MI son of the late Frank and Therese (Valich) Maycunich. He married the former Constance Bunker on September 9, 1961 in Escanaba, MI. Ken worked as a paper maker for Mead Paper for many years. After retiring from Mead he worked for the Daily News as a route carrier. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Ken enjoyed the outdoors and loved to spend time fishing.
Ken is survived by his wife, Constance; three daughters, Ann Gilley of Freesoil, MI, Jennifer Majkowski of Green Bay, WI and Therese Gedemer of Cudahy, WI; one brother, William (Theresa) Maycunich of Iron Mountain; three sisters, Ann (Bill) Wahlstrom of Marquette, MI, Rose (Bill) Rogers of Escanaba, MI and Veronica (Jim) Frye of Port St. Lucie, FL; and three grandchildren, Jessica, Natalie and Kyle.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jessica, and several brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Maycunich family at W7775 Lake Antoine Rd. South, Iron Mountain, MI 49801.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.

Olive Larson
KINGSFORD - Olive M. Larson, 88, of Kingsford died Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born Sept. 9, 1914, in Stambaugh, daughter of the late Ernest and Emma (Brolin) Bergquist. She had been a resident of the area her entire life.
Olive married Jack Larson on Jan. 6, 1940, in Iron Mountain. She loved baking and cooking.
Olive is survived by her husband, Jack Larson; a son, Wayne (Susan) Larson of Kingsford; a daughter, Nancy Larson of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; a sister, Marion Visintainer of West Allis, Wis. She is further survived by nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bud Bergquist, and a granddaughter, Fonda Larson.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kingsford Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kingsford Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora cemetery.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Kingsford Funeral Home with the funeral arrangements.

Doris Nomellini
HANCOCK - Doris Marie Nomellini, 83, of Hancock passed away on Nov. 18, 2002, at Portage Pointe of Portage Hospital.
She was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Hancock, daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline (Zurcher) Ross. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1936.
Doris was married to Paul 'Link' Nomellini on Oct. 5, 1936, at St. Joseph Church in Hancock. In 1986 the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1991.
She is survived by four children, Rev. Fr. Paul Nomellini of Spread Eagle, Wis., Charlotte Pera of Houghton, Delores 'Lori' (Jim) Parker of Hancock and Ross (Vickie) Nomellini of Marquette; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a sister.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 21 at the Church of the Resurrection, celebrated by her son, Rev. Paul Nomellini and concelebrated by other priests of the Marquette Diocese, and Marquette Diocese Bishop, The Most Reverend James H. Garland presiding. Spring burial will be at Forest Hill cemetery in Houghton.

Lois Getchell
IRON MOUNTAIN - Lois LaRaine Getchell, 73, of White Birch Village in Iron Mountain, formerly of Kingsford, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, after a battle with cancer.
She was born April 7, 1929, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Windel) Swarthout.
Lois married Robert Getchell on July 14, 1951, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in September of 1977. She was a loving mother and wife. Lois was active in many things in her life, including the East Kingsford Fire Department. She was also a volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain and the American Legion Post of Iron Mountain. She retired from Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. Lois is now in God's hands and will be missed very much by her four children. May He watch over her and may she rest in peace with her husband, Bob.
Lois is survived by a son, Rory R. Getchell of Washington; three daughters, Dottie (Perry) Leanna of Louisiana, Terry (Larry) Paul of Louisiana and Sarah Butterfield of Kingsford; three brothers, James, Richard and Jerry; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.

Robert Rochon
GOODMAN, Wis. - Robert James Rochon, 79, of Goodman, Wis., died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at his home in Goodman.
He was born March 4, 1923, in Alpha, son of the late Claude and Katherine (Schmid) Rochon. Bob grew up in Florence, Wis. and graduated from Florence High School in 1942. He joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. On April 26, 1947, he married Ruth Miersch in Florence and they lived in Goodman for the past 40 years. Bob was a master plumber, licensed in both Wisconsin and Michigan. He owned and operated Rochon Plumbing and Heating for many years before retiring in 1984. He was a member of the American Legion Post 325 and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Goodman. Bob was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a son, Claude (Diane) Rochon of Goodman; two daughters, Peggy (Bob) Cutchins of Goodman and Bobbee Kobylarz of Oshkosh, Wis.; four grandchildren, Erin (Russ) Wyngaard of Neenah, Wis., Dustin and Brent Smith of Goodman and Nicole Rochon of Goodman; two great-grandchildren, Karley and Taylor Wyngaard; and three brothers, Jack (Elaine) Rochon of Florence, Claude (June) Rochon of Arkansas and Jim 'Nap' (Marlene) Rochon.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Kobylarz; a brother, Lawrence 'Fritz' Rochon and a sister, Mercedes Zaupa.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Goodman. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church. Fr. Edward Nowakowski will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

Roy Johnson
IRON MOUNTAIN - Roy B. Johnson, 84, of N 4084 N. US2, died Friday November 29, 2002 at Dickinson Co. Memorial Hospital. Roy was born October 7, 1918 in Escanaba, MI, son of the late Emil and Lena (Anderson) Johnson and has been a resident of Dickinson and Delta Co. his entire life. He attended Breitung Township Schools and was a 1937 graduate of Kingsford High School. Roy worked for the Ford Motor Co. in Kingsford for several years and then as a top dock worker for the Chicago and Northwestern railroad in Escanaba until his retirement in 1981. Roy was a member of First Lutheran Church and the brotherhood of railway, airline and steamship clerks union. He enjoyed his camp and was an avid hunter, fisherman and nature lover. He also enjoyed working outdoors and with the soil. He liked to follow the stock market and was always up to date on current events and the news.
He is survived by two sisters, Helen Lehto of Twin Falls and Jeanette Burak of Escanaba; nieces and nephews, Kenneth (Susan) Magnuson of Beaverton, Oregon, Gerald (Doreene) Magnuson of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Julie (Alvin) Robinson of Green Bay, WI, Terry (Kathy) Burak of Bullhead City, Arizona, Elaine Burak of Grandville, MI, Richard (Sharon) Burak of Jamestown, New York and Bryan (Lynn) Burak of Escanaba, MI; and also by many loving grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 3rd from 3:00-6:00pm at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home and on Wednesday, December 4th from 10:00 -11:00am at The First Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Wednesday at The First Lutheran Church. Rev. Peter Jonas will officiate. Burial will be in cemetery Park. Pallbearers will be Gerald Magnuson, G.T. Magnuson, Larry Robinson, Brad Robinson, Terry Burak and Adam Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Magnuson, Rick Burak and Bryan Burak
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.

Warren Lindholm
IRON MOUNTAIN - Warren 'Jim' Lindholm, 57, of W-7702 Leeman Road, Sagola, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at his home.
He was born Aug. 26, 1945, in Norway, son of Mescal (Farrington) Lindholm and the late Warren D. Lindholm. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kingsford High School, class of 1964. Warren worked as an electrician through the Laborers Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and spending time with friends.
Warren is survived by two daughters, Kristen (Bob) Benedict of Green Bay, Wis., and Wendy (Chris) Bares of Green Bay; his mother, Mescal (Toots) Lindholm of Iron Mountain; a sister, Bonnie (Jerry) Chadwick of Fresno, Calif.; his grandchildren, Bradley Ryan, Brianna Bares, Kelsey Uncles and Kaitlyn Uncles; a nephew, Bret (Patti) Helgren of Bakersfield, Calif.; two great-nieces, Domini and Riley Helgren; a special friend, Rod Stroud of Sagola, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Deacon Don Christy will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.

Dorothy Lindstrom
IRON MOUNTAIN - Dorothy C. Lindstrom, 84, of Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain.
Dorothy was born March 30, 1918, in Alpha, daughter of the late Anton and Clara (Shoquist) Safstrom. She had been a resident of this area her entire life. Dorothy was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School and received her degree as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) from Bay de Noc Community College. She worked as a LPN for Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for many years, retiring in 1983. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy 'Mike' Lindstrom. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, crocheting and working outdoors. She especially loved being around her family.
She is survived by her son, William (Bonnie) Lindstrom of Spread Eagle, Wis.; two sisters, Margaret Safstrom of Iron Mountain and Lucille (Ramon) Carlson of Norway; a daughter-in-law, Janet Lindstrom of Escanaba; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, James Lindstrom; her daughter, Barbara Lytle and a grandson, Brent Lindstrom.
Private family visitation and family services are being held at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.

John Johnson
IRON MOUNTAIN - John A. 'Jack' Johnson, 78, of Granite Bluff, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Jack was born May 20, 1924, in Twin Falls and had been a resident of Granite Bluff his entire life. He was the son of the late Amos and Olga (Johnson) Johnson. Jack graduated from Kingsford High School in 1942 and served in the United States Army during World War II, from 1944-1946. As a corporal, he served in France and Germany and received the Victory Medal, the European Theatre Ribbon, a Bronze Battle Star, two overseas service bars, the Army of Occupation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He married Beverley Bourassa on June 11, 1949, in Iron Mountain. Jack worked for Niagara of Wisconsin for 38 years and retired in 1986. He attended First Covenant Church, was a lifetime member of the AmVets and a member of the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Golden K Kiwanis Club. He loved working with special children, playing the harmonica, barbershop quartet music and singing with the Golden K Golden Throats. Jack enjoyed camping and watching and feeding the birds. He loved his family and cousins. He was always helping his neighbors and served as the barber for many of his friends and co-workers over the years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Johnson.
Jack is survived by his wife, Beverley; his sons, Terry and Scott (Gail Dixon) of Granite Bluff; his daughter, Judy (David) Sielaff of Granite Bluff; a brother, Carl (Delores) Johnson of Granite Bluff; a sister-in-law, Lois Johnson of Granite Bluff; three grandchildren, Amanda and Betsy Sielaff and Stacey Johnson; and many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
