Patricia Lindeman
CHANNING - Patricia A. Lindeman, 73, of 302 N. 6th St., Channing, died Monday, June 9, 2003, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 8, 1929 in Green Bay, Wis., the daughter of the late George and Anna (Kallendar) Riley. She was a lifelong resident of Channing. Pat married Tony 'Wappo' Lindeman on March 29, 1949, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Channing. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and a member of the ladies guild. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren, and although she faced many trials and challenges in life, she was always looking out for the well being of her family and friends. She was also known for a being a great cook.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Lindeman; and two brothers, George and John Riley.
Pat is survived by her husband, Tony; four sons, Craig (Joni) Lindeman of Holt, lower Michigan, Todd (Lynne) Lindeman of Kingsford, Dean Lindeman of Iron Mountain and Brian (Barb) Lindeman of Felch; a daughter, Michelle (Mike) Ferguson of Sagola; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Bloom of Channing and a brother-in-law, Warren (Betty) Lindeman of Green Bay; 11 grandchildren, Brent, Jeff, Liza, Chad, Ryan, Philip, Alex, Brandon, Blake, Linsey, and Jared; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Alexis, and Hunter; a niece, Mary Ann Stoner; and a nephew, Jack Riley.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Parish prayers will be recited at 5 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. There will also be a visitation on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in Channing. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. Fr. George Kuppayil will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Channing cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Ouimette and Bob Miller.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.

David Ackerman
KINGSFORD - David J. Ackerman, 43, of W8405 Old Carney Lake Road, Breitung Township, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at home after a courageous battle with cancer with his wife and family at his side.
He was born Feb. 23, 1960, in Iron Mountain, son of Irene (Lamprecht) Ackerman and the late Nicholas Ackerman. David had been a resident of the area for all of his life. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1979. He married Donna Kujala on Aug. 27, 1988, in Wakefield. He worked for Louisiana-Pacific Corp. David was a member of First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. He loved spending time with his wife and children. He enjoyed raising and breeding small animals, going to Bill Murra's camp, hunting and being on the computer.
He is survived by his wife, Donna and their two daughters, Stacey Jean and Lisa Nicole Ackerman, all of Breitung Township; his mother, Irene Ackerman of Kingsford; maternal grandmother, Helmi Rice of Florence Villa Nursing Home; his mother-in-law, Ruth Kujala of Wakefield; a brother, Michael (Susan) Ackerman of Kingsford; a sister, Carol (Philip) Taylor of Breitung Township; a brother-in-law, Brian Kujala of Louisville, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Diane (Ron) Hemming of Milford, Conn.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Ackerman and his father-in-law, Jack Kujala.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Kingsford Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at the church. Rev. Peter Jonas will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Ron Hemming, Philip Taylor, Michael Ackerman, Robert Ellis, Bill Murra and Jeff Johnson.

Frank Gendron
BREITUNG TOWNSHIP - Frank E. Gendron, 85, of N4075 Bluff View Drive, Pine Creek, Breitung Township, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Frank was born July 16, 1917, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Frank and Mary (Trepanier) Gendron. He was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Iron Mountain High School. He married Dean Doris Hewitt in December 1942 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 1963. Frank served in the U.S. Army overseas during World War II. He was the recipient of many medals and ribbons, including the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Battle Stars. He also served 20 years in the National Guard, retiring as a sergeant major. He was also a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Frank was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, berry picking, gardening and most of all, he enjoyed and loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Rick and Linda Gendron of Pine Creek, Dr. Toby (Karen) Gendron of Breitung Township, Patti (Jerry) Ayotte of Hermansville and Gail Beauchamp of Pine Creek; his former wife and friend, Gloria Gendron of Iron Mountain; a sister, Lucille Hough of Fayette, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren, Jason and Jared Gendron, Jamie, Erin and Erik Ayotte, Jeremey, Jesse, Joseph, Adam and Kristen Gendron.
Frank was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Thomas Gendron; three brothers, Albert, Charles and Joseph; and by one sister, Doris Tedeschi.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The American Legion Post 340 of Hermansville will conduct a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and parish prayers will be recited at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Daniel Bennett
IRON MOUNTAIN - Daniel K. Bennett, 24, of 412 East C St., Iron Mountain, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at his home.
He was born Jan. 31, 1979 in Oxford, Ohio. He and his family have been residents of Iron Mountain for the past nine years. Dan was a 1997 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. He worked assisting Ben Baker at Baker Sign Co. and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed art, especially sculpture and drawing.
Dan was preceded in death by his brother Michael in 1999.
Dan is survived by his father and mother, William (Bill) and Cathy Bennett of Iron Mountain; his sister, Gen (Sean Riedl) Bennett of Iron Mountain; his maternal grandmother, Ann McKeon of Pennsylvania; a nephew, Michael Riedl; three aunts, Nancy Bennett, Dianna Bennett, MaryAnne (David) Shirey; and an uncle Bernard McKeon; also by special friends, Nita Combs and the Bob and Mary Baker Family.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home and 10 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Church. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will offer the Mass of the Christian burial.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.

Robert Lefebvre
IRON MOUNTAIN - Robert J. Lefebvre, 90, born in Iron Mountain, Jan. 19, 1913, son of the late Antonio 'Bob' and Ernestine 'Ann' (St. Arnauld) Lefebvre, passed away June 1, 2003, at Sun Health Hospice in Peoria, Ariz.
Robert attended school in Iron Mountain then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1931, retiring as chief torpedoman in 1956 after 24 years of service. He served on various ships including PT boats during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He saw action in Siapan, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Guadalcanal, Guam and Saipan, surviving attacks by the Japanese Kamikaze. After retirement, he was employed as a night guard at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco, Calif. He later moved to Vallejo, Calif., then left in 1990 to reside with his caregivers, his niece, Mary Jane and husband, Ralph Werly in Sun City, Ariz. His last residence was a Baptist Village, an assisted living facility in Youngtown, Ariz.
Robert was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Arthur and Emil; three sisters, Mary Jane, Marion Simmons, O. Jean Bauernfeind, and a sister-in-law, Alyce Lefebvre.
He is survived by his sister, Lorraine Massa; a sister-in-law, Margaret Lefebvre; a niece, Mary Jane (Ralph) Werly of Sun City; two nephew, Richard Simmons of Sun City and Gary Lefebvre of Iron Mountain; nieces, Kathleen Feigel of Chicago and Jean (Allen) Moore of Remus, lower Michigan, and cousins, Bea (Olaf) Blomquist of Iron Mountain, Paul (Shirley) St. Arnauld of Brookfield, Wis., and Pauline Wimber of Kirksville, Mo.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the funeral home. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot at cemetery Park.
Robert enjoyed traveling, reading and liked to reminisce about summers spent at the Moon Lake cottage, he and his brothers helped their dad build 80 years ago. Robert was a caring son, brother and uncle and will be sadly missed.
A donation has been sent by the family to Sun Health Hospice in Peoria, Ariz.

Thomas Peters Jr.
KINGSFORD - Thomas A. Peters Jr., 75, of 345 Sterling St., Kingsford, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born Oct. 11, 1927, son of the late Thomas and Anna (Reimer) Peters Sr. Tom was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1946. He married Mary Nelson on April 30, 1949, in Iron Mountain. He was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church and ushered there for many years. Tom was also a member of American Legion Post 363 of Kingsford, a former city council member for seven years and a VA volunteer for 26 years. Tom served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1947 and took great pride in flying the American flag at his home each and every day. He was a die-hard Tiger and Lions fan and an avid cribbage player. Tom enjoyed gardening, camp, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Peters of Kingsford; four children, Margie (Gary) Tarsi of Channing, Tom (Mary) Peters III of Iron Mountain, Jody (Paul) Sanford of Gladstone and Jean (Mark) Luoma of Munising; nine grandchildren, Scott (fiance' Lindsey Johnson), Eric Tarsi, Lisa Tarsi (fiance' Eric Hermann), Tom IV and Ashley Peters, Paul (Carrie) Sanford and Lee Sanford, Natalie and Andrew Luoma.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, Lawrence and Robert Peters and a sister, Marie Peters.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and at 11 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens. American Legion Post 363 will conduct military graveside services.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Scott and Eric Tarsi, Paul and Lee Sanford, Andrew Luoma and Tom Peters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford.

Tina Lane
IRON MOUNTAIN - Tina A. Lane, 23, of Kingsford, formerly of Sheboygan, Wis., died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born Sept. 9, 1979, in Appleton, Wis. She graduated in 1998 in North High School in Sheboygan. Tina had been a resident of Kingsford for the past year.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Vreeke at home; two daughters, Kaitlynn Vreeke and Alyssa Lane at home; her mother, Shelly Hoffman of West Allis, Wis., and father, Brian Lane of Milwaukee; two brothers, Raymond and Richmond Lane of West Allis, Wis.; a sister, Tabitha (Dennis) Gahagan of Kiel, Wis.; her maternal grandparents, Elroy and Marilyn Hoffman of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., and her paternal grandmother, Jeanette Lane of Sheboygan, Wis., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private family services were held.
The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.

Myrtle Hokman
IRON MOUNTAIN - Myrtle V. Hokman, 95, of Iron Mountain, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
She was born July 1, 1907, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Charles and Marie Anderson. Myrtle married Edward Hokman on Dec. 17, 1926, and he preceded her in death in January 1968. She was a member of the First Covenant Church. She loved to read and live her life by the Bible.Myrtle loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, crocheting and working in the garden.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Applegate of Iron Mountain; five grandchildren, Rebecca Caldaras of California, Meredith (William) Adams of Port Washington, Wis., Bruce (Kelly) Gustafson of Florida, David (Kathy) Gustafson of Illinois and Paul Applegate of Florida; and 11 great-grandchildren, Adam, Rachel, Meredith, Dana, Scott, Cameron, Julie, Joseph, Casey, Brittney and Amanda.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Oliver Anderson, Roy Anderson and Harold Anderson and a sister, Alma Anderson.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. There will be a gathering from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Bruce Linscheid will officiate. Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.

Delbert Cody
IRON MOUNTAIN - Delbert Allen Cody, 71, of W8079 S. US 2, Iron Mountain, died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at his home.
Del was born October 19, 1931 in Foster City, MI son of the late Albert and Beatrice (DuFrense) Cody. He served for the army in the Korean War. Del worked for the Michigan State Police for 38 years, advancing through the ranks to lieutenant. He served in Detroit, Gaylord, Lansing, Livonia and for the last 15 years of his career in Iron Mountain, where he retired as Post Commander in 1992. Del was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Oak Crest Country Club, Elks, Dickinson Area Bocce Association, and the Golden K (Golden Throats). He enjoyed camp, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, horseshoes, softball, bowling, golfing and playing guitar. Most of all, he enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel Cody of Ft. Meyers, FL and William (Lisa) Cody of Norway; a sister, Betty Smith of Holt, MI; a brother, Dennis (Kay) Cody of Laingsburg, MI; 3 grandchildren, Kristina, Stephanie, and David Cody; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to Northwoods Air Life Line and sent to Kathy Wolfe - Treasurer 4775 Lincoln Ave. Quinnesec, MI 49876 .

Jean Anderson
KINGSFORD - Jean Elizabeth Anderson, 86, of 540 Dickinson Blvd., Kingsford, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis.
Jean was born March 3, 1917, in Evanston, Ill., daughter of the late Ray and Mary (Mattison) Farrell. She graduated from Oregon High School in Oregon, Ill. Shortly after graduation, Jean met Frank Anderson of Iron Mountain when they were both working in Chicago. They were married in August of 1938 and moved to the Kingsford area in 1945. Frank preceded her in death in 1981. She worked at the V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain for 30 years, retiring as a Medical Administrative Assistant in 1988. Jean was very active in Memorial Hospice, offering respite care for the families, sunshine and comfort for the clients, as well as working there as office manager/secretary for over 10 years. She was an active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain for over 50 years.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Marikay Henricksen of Amberg, Wis.; two grandchildren, Dan Henricksen (Rachel Challe) of Green Bay, Wis. and William (Sanna) Henricksen of Kingsford; three great-granddaughters, Maya, Marissa, and Keanna; a brother-in-law, W.O. Humphry of Kingsford; a sister-in-law, Muriel Isaacson of Maryhill Manor; former son-in-law, Harold Henricksen of Kingsford; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James Anderson; a brother, Raymond Farrell; and a sister, Kathryn Wilde.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, June 2, at the Balsam Street Christian Church, 324 Balsam St., Kingsford. Memorial services will follow at 6 p.m. from the church. Pastor Joe Stapleton will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Hospice.
