Walter Stenfors
FOSTER CITY - Walter W. Stenfors, 89, of Foster City, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home For Veterans in Marquette.
He was born Oct.19, 1915, in Foster City, son of the late Victor and Hilja (Longsi) Stenfors. Walter has been a resident of Foster City for most of his life. He served 3 1/2 years during World War 11 with the Army Air Force stationed in Alaska.
Walter attended mechanics school in Milwaukee and later was self-employed as a logger. He attended Mission Covenant Church in Foster City and was a member of the Felch-Breen Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4803. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid reader. His favorite hobby was woodworking.
Walter is survived by three brothers, Albert (Dorothy) Stenfors and Roy (Willie Mae) Stenfors, both of Iron Mountain and Robert (Judy) Stenfors of Spooner, Wis.; two sisters, Alice (Howard) Carlson and Bertha Carlson, both of Foster City; two sisters, Alice (Howard) Carlson and Bertha Carlson of Foster City; two sisters-in-law, Mamie Stenfors of Iron Mountain and Joanne Stenfors of Foster City; numerous nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; and his special cat, Mia.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Foster City cemetery
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory to Mission Covenant Church in Foster City.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

Richard Cavaiani
IRON MOUNTAIN - Richard G. Cavaiani, 82, of 905 E. Margaret St., Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born March 4, 1922, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Anton and Maria (Bianchini) Cavaiani. Rich has been a lifelong resident of this area and was a 1940 graduate of Iron Mountain High School.
Following his graduation, he attended mechanics school in Chelsea, lower Michigan. Rich served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Bowie as a second class petty officer and gunfire control officer in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He worked for Lake Shore Inc. for 52 years and retired as their chief estimator in June of 1993.
Rich married Judith Matthews (Bender) on July 7, 1984, in Iron Mountain.
He was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church, the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and Carpenter-Clash American Legion Post 363. Rich was a charter member of the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Lions Club, organizer and charter member of the Iron Mountain chapter of Ducks Unlimited and had been an active member of Wildlife Unlimited. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Rich also enjoyed playing cards and loved gardening and taking care of his yard.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; two daughters, Ann Marie Tuthill of Appleton, Wis. and Paula (Gary) Chapman of Kingsford; two stepdaughters, Kathy Skog of Menasha, Wis. and Beth (Lee) Stahl of Neenah, Wis.; two brothers, David (Etta) Cavaiani and Louis Cavaiani of Iron Mountain; a sister, Mary Lancour of Escanaba; four grandchildren, Tara Tuthill and Kelly, Casey and Danny Chapman; seven step-grandchildren, Josh, Ryan and Lindsay Skog, Jenna Stahl, Courtney Bender, and Jordan and Bailee Stahl; and also his four-legged special friend, Abbie.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Parish prayers will be offered Sunday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and at 11 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with funeral arrangements.

Edwin Chrisman
AURORA, Wis. - Edwin C. Chrisman, 80, of Aurora, Wis., died on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Walker, Minn., son of the late Verne and Elizabeth (DeGraaf) Chrisman. Edwin was raised in Aurora and was a graduate of Kingsford High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
He married Virginia Isely on July 13, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wis.
Edwin worked for more than 30 years with the United States Postal Service. He retired in 1979 as the postal operations specialist in Milwaukee.
Edwin was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), having served as charter commander and quartermaster of the Aurora VFW Post.
He was also a life member of the American Legion. Edwin enjoyed golfing at Oak Crest Golf Club and bowling at Recreation Lanes. He loved football and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his son, Ralph Chrisman of Milwaukee; two daughters, Georgiann (Robert) Gelhar of Aurora and LeaAnn Chrisman of Fond du Lac, Wis.; daughter-in-law, Frances Chrisman of Green Bay; four brothers, Rodger (Linda) Chrisman and Ray (Pat) Chrisman, both of Aurora, Dick (Dolly) Chrisman and Walt (Betty) Chrisman, both of Mukwonago, Wis.; four sisters, Joyce Pintar of West Allis, Wis., Ollie Pedersen of Colorado, Frances (Duaine) Schaut of Aurora and Vera (Marvin) Craig of Colorado; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Chrisman in 1998, four brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kingsford Funeral Home.
The funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at American Martyrs Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of the Christian Burial. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora cemetery.
A memorial will be established in his memory.

Beatrice Malmberg
AURORA, Wis. - Beatrice Flesch Malmberg, 83, of Aurora, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
She was born May 18, 1921, in Eagle River, Wis., the daughter of the late Frank and Rose J. (Vlach) Mills.
Mrs. Malmberg worked at Hancock Wood Products. She was an excellent cook and a member of First Covenant Church. Beatrice was also fond of her dog, Max.
She married Richard Flesch in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1973. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Joseph Malmberg, whom she married in Florence.
Bea is survived by seven children, Donald (Sharon) Flesch of Brookfield, Wis., Terry (Betty) Flesch and Duane Flesch, both of Aurora, Sheryle Karcz of Green Bay, Wis., James (Sue) Flesch of Kingsford, Robert Flesch of Aurora and Rosemarie Flesch of Juneau, Wis.; two brothers, Douglas (Beatrice 'Boots') Mills of Aurora and Edward (Joanne) Mills of Iron Mountain; two sisters, Shirley Wolsker of Aurora and Bonnie (Darrell) Doggett of Lucedale, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Josh) Learned, Steven Flesch, Jamie Flesch, Amy (Jay) Pawling, Sara and Nicolas Karcz, Richard Flesch, and Jennifer Flesch; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, George Flesch.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Covenant Church. Rev. Peter Erickson will officiate the service.
Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora cemetery.
The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Virginia King
KINGSFORD - Virginia B. King, 89, of 1025 Woodward Ave., Kingsford, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born April 11, 1915, in Marquette, daughter of the late Noe and Della (Rivers) Bertrand. She was a 1932 graduate of Iron Mountain High School.
She married William King on Oct. 14, 1944, in the Cathedral in Lansing, lower Michigan. Following her marriage, she spent many years living and working in Fond du Lac, Wis. Virginia worked as a secretary for the Brunswick Corp. and Mercury Marine for many years, retiring in 1980.
She is survived be her son, Thomas (Laurie Ransom) King of Grand Rapids, lower Michigan; a brother, Bill (Doris) Bertrand of California; a sister-in-law, Thelma Bertrand of Escanaba; three grandchildren, James (Brenda) King, David (Tammy) King and Matthew King; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William and two brothers, LaMont and Edward Bertrand.
A memorial service will take place in the spring.
Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.

Roy A. Hord
IRON MOUNTAIN - Roy A. Hord, 93, of Iron Mountain, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Manorcare Health Care Services in Kingsford.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1910, in Homestead, Wis., son of the late Fred and Signe (Lindquist) Hord. Roy has been a lifelong resident of this area.
He married Lorna Opal Davis on Feb. 19, 1936, in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2004.
His family was the center of his life and he fully enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roy was a member of the First Covenant Church and active in the Gideons. He retired in 2003 from Izzo's Home Improvements after 50 years of dedicated service.
Roy is survived by two sons, Duane (Lois) Hord of Cape Coral, Fla. and Crystal Falls and Lloyd (Patty) Hord of Kingsford; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hord; a brother, Donald Hord of Lake Geneva, Wis.; three sisters, Dorothy (Albert) Stenfors of Iron Mountain, Vera Rouse of Iron Mountain, and Gertie Bergstrom of Hyland Nursing Home; a sister-in-law, Ethel Bryngelson of Marshall, lower Michigan; seven grandchildren, Steve, Jeff, and Tammy Hord, Susan Brown and James Hord, Scott and Jerrod Hord; nine great-grandchildren, Jason, Meagan, Lisa, Mari Lee, Kaitlyn, Austin, Jaydon, Tyler, and Peyton.
He was preceded in death by a son, Fred in 1995 and three brothers, Herold, Wilbur, and Willard Hord.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Peter Erickson will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jim Hord, Steve Hord, Scott Hord, Jeff Hord and Jerrod Hord.
Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora cemetery.

Irene Sanderson
BREITUNG TOWNSHIP - Irene Sanderson, 77, of 229 E. Breitung Ave., Kingsford, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Marquette General Hospital.
A private family service will be held.
The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Grace Trombley
IRON MOUNTAIN - Grace M. Trombley, 77, of Iron Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1927, in Channing, daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Arboreen) Johnson. Grace was raised in Channing and had spent a number of years in Detroit and Milwaukee, returning to this area in 1978.
She taught Catechism for three years in Marquette. She was a devout Catholic and her religion was sacred to her. When she moved to Iron Mountain, Grace took care of the elderly.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Grace was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church of Iron Mountain.
She is survived by her former husband, Donald Trombley; one son, William (LaVonne) Johnson of Altoona, Wis.; four daughters, Carol Kotkiewicz of Crystal Falls, Laurie Ludux of Coon Rapids, Minn., Diane Hall of Detroit, and Helen (Walter) Hogue of Detroit; one sister, Marge (Cletus) Bastian of Kingsford and one brother, Clifford Johnson of Kingsford. She is further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Nelson and Phylis Dione and two brothers, Joseph Johnson and Eugene Johnson.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will officiate.
Burial will be at Dickinson County Memorial Gardens.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
