Gladys Sackerson
IRON MOUNTAIN - Gladys M. Sackerson, 87, of Norway, formerly of 516 West F St., Iron Mountain, died, Thursday, March 31, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
Gladys was born March 26, 1918, in Manistique, daughter of the late John and Emma (Farwell) Underhill. She was a 1937 graduate of Iron Mountain High School.
Gladys married Gilbert 'Gibb' Sackerson on April 15, 1939, in Iron Mountain. They moved to the Lake Forest, Ill. area in 1947, and returned to Iron Mountain in 1986.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Gladys enjoyed spending time with her family and relatives.
Gladys is survived by her husband Gilbert 'Gibb'; a son, John (Karrie) Sackerson of Norway; two grandchildren, Amy and Eugene; and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her son Albert 'Tim' Sackerson on May 13, 2004; a brother, Roland Underhill; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Underhill.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
A Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Fr. Charles Piper will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
The family has entrusted the Tondin-Ross and Freeman Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with funeral arrangements.

Logan Curran
IRON MOUNTAIN - Logan A. Curran, 8 1/2 months-old, of 705 Fairbanks St., Iron Mountain, went to be with Jesus after a battle with Leukodystrophy.
Logan was born July 10, 2004, in Iron Mountain.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Tia (Savola) Curran; his sister, Hailey and brother, Bryce, both at home; paternal grandparents, Ron and Emelia Curran of Kingsford; maternal grandparents, Sara (Elliot) Pearce of Aurora, Wis. and Geoffrey (Nichole) Savola of Quinnesec; great-grandparents, Emil and Shirley Bruce of Munising, Glada Cotton of Kingsford and Lorraine Curran of Niagara, Wis.; aunts, Katie Curran, Amity Curran, Kristy Savola and Samantha Savola; an uncle, Jeffrey Savola; and numerous cousins that loved him very much.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Kingsford.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church. Rev. David Wilton will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Curran, Geoffrey Savola, Jeffrey Savola and Emil Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

Clarence Smith
IRON MOUNTAIN - Clarence D. Smith, 86, of 518 Houghteling St. in Iron Mountain, formerly of Randville, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Hyland Nursing Home after a short illness.
He was born June 5, 1918, in Randville, the son of the late Martin and Ida Smith. Clarence was raised on a farm and lived in Randville his entire life. He resided with his great-niece, Heidi Massa. Clarence was employed by Smith Castings in Kingsford for many years until retiring. He loved to work and took pride in helping people in the Randville and Merriman areas. Clarence enjoyed gardening, snow shoveling, raking leaves, making firewood and brook trout fishing.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Frank Oizle, Larry Rochon and 'Blue.'
Clarence was preceded in death by seven brothers, Fritz, John, Frank, Tom, Leo, Neil, and George 'Pike' and two sisters, Agnes and Mae.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.

Fredrick Paquette
IRON MOUNTAIN - Fredrick W. Paquette, 81, of 101 W. Fleshiem St., Iron Mountain, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born June 5, 1923, in Kingsford, son of the late Fred and Annie (Lachine) Paquette. Fred was a lifelong resident of this area and served in the U.S. Navy Sea Bee's during World War II. He had served in the Pacific Theater.
He married Esther (Sundholm) Moroni on Nov. 30, 1968. She preceded him in death in August 1992.
He was a member of the Construction and Laborers Union 1329 and had worked for the Novara Brothers and R.J. Joiner & Co. Fred was active in ski jumping from 1938-1948 and was a member of the Kiwanis Ski Club, the Red Wing Ski Club, and the Central Ski Association, including the Pine Mountain tournaments.
He was an excellent athlete and played high football at Kingsford High School. He participated in the local hardball and softball leagues for 40 years. Fred was an avid Packer fan and a St. Louis Cardinal's baseball fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at his camp on the Michigamme River.
He is survived by four children, Evelyn (Gary) Olson of Iron Mountain, John (Gretchen) Moroni of Green Bay, Wis., Rose Dohrmann of Rhinelander, Wis., and Paul Moroni of Bark River; one brother, Francis (Bonnie) Paquette of Iron Mountain; one sister-in-law, Verna Paquette of Iron Mountain; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John 'Jack' Paquette, Robert Paquette, and Patrick Paquette, and one sister; Geraldine 'Geri' Senatori.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.
Burial will be in the Quinnesec cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

Ann Andritsch
IRON MOUNTAIN - Ann Rose Andritsch, 88, of Iron Mountain, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1916, the daughter of the late Matt and Magdalena (Toth) Keller.
Mrs. Andritsch moved to Iron Mountain in 1980 from Milwaukee. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Immaculate Conception Ladies Guild. She enjoyed spending time at the Crystal Lake Senior Citizens Center.
She married Anton 'Tony' Andritsch on Oct. 29, 1938, in Milwaukee.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Anne) Andritsch of Port Townsend, Wash. and David (Marilyn) Andritsch of Santa Fe, N.M.; one sister, Helen Dockendorf of California; three grandchildren, Julie Firrell of Alexandria, Va., Todd (Vicki) Andritsch of Barrington, Ill. and Rick (Stacy) Andritsch of Pewaukee, Wis., and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; and three sisters, Magdalena, Bertha and Theresa; and a brother, Joe.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

David Forcey
IRON MOUNTAIN - David H. Forcey, 77, of 140 W. Stanton St. Iron Mountain, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born March 26, 1928, in Daggett, the son of the late Jerome and Evelyn (Olive) Forcey. He has been a lifelong resident of this area.
David served overseas in the United States Army during World War II. While overseas he was a guard on President Eisenhower's train.
He married the former Betty Hicks on April 8, 1948, in Seattle. David worked for the city of Iron Mountain for many years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50. David was an avid reader and enjoyed wood carving.
He especially enjoyed his afternoon coffee clutch at Hardee's. David was proud of the flag display he kept in his yard. He loved decorating his house and yard during the holidays.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, David (Joan) Forcey of West Bend, Wis. and Randall (Michelle) Forcey of Niagara, Wis.; four daughters, Dorothy (Dana) Forcey of Iron Mountain, Elizabeth Jones of Kingsford, Roberta (Jeff) Marquis of Amberg, Wis. and Diane (Don) Loch of Iron Mountain; a brother, Neil (Mary Ann) Forcey of Cedarburg, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Buddy, who was his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilfred, Robert Dale and Corky Forcey.
Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Snyder will officiate.
Burial will be at the Niagara cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.

Antoinette Melelli
IRON MOUNTAIN - Antoinette 'Tonie' Melelli, 85, of Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
She was born on June 22, 1919, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Germano and Catterina (Ceritto) Melelli.
Miss Melelli graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1937. She served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, being stationed in different parts of the United States and the world. Tonie served in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Bronze Star, the Korean, UN, and Vietnam service Medal, and the National Defense service medal.
On July 1, 1972, she retired as a lieutenant colonel from the Brooke Texas Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston Army Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Tonie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50, the Disabled American Veterans, and the R.A.N.C.A. (Retired Army Nurse Association). She was an excellent softball player and an avid sports fan.
She is survived by three nephews, Ronald (Mary Lee) Melelli of Loretto, Robert (Jill) Johnson of Kingsford, and Michael (Mary Jo) Johnson of Green Bay, Wis.; two nieces, Patricia Milanowski of Chicago and Elizabeth Damian of Burnsville, Minn.; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marino and Adolph Melelli and three sisters, Mary Bartsch, Katherine Johnson, and Mildred Abarr.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. on Monday, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Military services, conducted by the Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50, will be held Monday at 10:20 a.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carmelite Monastery.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.
