Marjorie Krokstrom
IRON MOUNTAIN - Marjorie E. Krokstrom, 79, of 1314 N. Milwaukee Ave., Iron Mountain, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
Marge was born May 30, 1925, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Harold and Hedwig (Nelson) Tippett.
She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1943, and was a resident of the area her entire life.
Marge married Carl 'Cookie' Krokstrom on Sept. 28, 1946, at First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. She enjoyed camping and vacationing to Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Carl; two sons, Douglas (Julia) Krokstrom of Iron Mountain and Jim Krokstrom (Debbie Menza) of Niagara, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Jamie and Matt Krokstrom, Kevin (Melissa) Krokstrom, Terri (David) Castelaz, Melissa (John) Nowak, Joshua (Jenny) Derouin, Mark Derouin and Michelle Menza, and eight great-grandchildren.
Marge was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Krokstrom; a daughter, Kathy Derouin; and a brother, Douglas Tippett.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

Philip Smith
KINGSFORD - Philip H. Smith, 83, of 1865 Riverview Drive, Kingsford, died on Monday, March 7, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
He was born on Oct.19, 1921, in Milwaukee, son of the late Philip and Rose (Prausa) Smith. He graduated from Bayview High School in 1940. In 1941, Philip joined the U.S. Army and served with the 32nd Division in North Africa and Italy until 1945.
He married Dorothy Hyland on June 19, 1946, in Spruce, Wis. Dorothy preceded him in death in April 2004.
He resided in the Milwaukee area for 62 years. Philip worked in retail for 45 years before retiring and moving to Kingsford. He loved woodworking and crafted custom inlaid gun stocks as a hobby. He also loved to fish and spend quality time with his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Lyn Preiss of Landisville, Pa.; two sons, Philip 'Duke' Smith and Joseph 'Joe' Smith, both of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Ray (Laura) Preiss of Manheim, Pa. and Rebecca (Christopher) Miller of Lititz, Pa.
Friends may call SaturdayApril 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at thechurch. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass.
Burial will be in the Kadlec cemetery in Spruce, Wis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, N.Y. 10163 or to the American Diabetes Foundation, 30600 Telegraph Road, Suite 2255, Bingham Farms, MI 48025-44532.

Marilyn McQueen
IRON MOUNTAIN - Marilyn R. McQueen, 76, of Victorian Pines Estates, Iron Mountain, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at her home. She died with family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Lansing, daughter of the late Amos and Frieda (Wolter) Kerns. She was a graduate of Capital University with a bachelor's degree in science. She worked as a chemist for Dow Chemical Co. for many years.
Marilyn married Clark McQueen on Nov. 24, 1956, in Indiana, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1984.
In June 2003, she moved from her home in Saginaw to Iron Mountain to be near her daughter. She loved to paint and sketch and she was still taking art lessons in her later years. She was a very good writer, and loved to read. Marilyn was very musically inclined, playing such instruments as the flute, recorder, saxophone and piano. The saxophone and the piano were her favorites. Marilyn had a very strong faith, attending the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford since moving here in 2003.
She is survived by a son, Clifton (Bethany) McQueen of Saginaw; a daughter, Katherine Tobin of Kingsford; three grandchildren, Joshua Tobin of Wichita, Kan., David Tobin, and Zachary McQueen; two sisters, Nancy (Gardner) VanScoyoc of Alexandria, Va. and Doris (Robert) Mutchler of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Christopher Tobin and a niece, Norma Jackson.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Michael March and Rev. Gardner VanScoyoc will co-officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Fwy. Ste. 250, Dallas, Texas, 75244.

Rubye Delaware
IRON MOUNTAIN - Rubye Mary Rousseau Delaware, 91, of Iron Mountain, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
She was born March 21, 1913, in Nadeau, daughter of the late Marcell and Exilda (LeGault) Rousseau. Rubye served in the U.S. Navy and in the National Waves. She worked as a secretary at Time Insurance in Milwaukee.
She was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Iron Mountain-Kingsford GFWC.
She married Lynn Delaware in 1935 in Milwaukee and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two brothers, Art Rousseau of Westminster, Calif. and Robert Rousseau of Auburndale, Fla.; two sisters, Ella Coughlin of Mequon, Wis. and Margaret Mitchell of Prescott, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Lynn, she was preceded in death by seven brothers.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and at 11 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Dan Zaloga will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in Quinnesec cemetery.
The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alda Guldswog
IRON MOUNTAIN - Alda D. Guldswog, 90, of 1004 West A St., Iron Mountain, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Appleton, Wis.
Alda was born Dec. 20, 1914, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Nunzio and Marianna (D'Antonio) Spera. She was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain, and was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School.
She married Fritz Guldswog in 1936, and he preceded her in death in June of 1978.
She worked for the JC Penney Co. until she retired in 1962.
Alda is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Johnson of Appleton; granddaughter, Lisa (Scott) Hansen of Menasha, Wis., and two great-grandchildren, Trista and Bryce Hansen.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Parish prayers will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
Pallbearers will be Scott Hansen, Alan Hansen, and Steve Dorosz.

Kathleen Hicks
IRON MOUNTAIN - Kathleen L. Hicks, 79, of Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at All Saints Health Care Center in Racine, Wis.
Kathleen was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Henry and Nellie (Barker) Lee. She was a 1944 graduate of Iron Mountain High School.
She moved to Green Bay, Wis., in 1964, where she worked at Green Bay Kitchen Mart for 25 years and at Chase-Fitzpatrick for six years. She retired and moved back to Iron Mountain.
Kathleen married Harry Carlson in June of 1945, he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1980. She married Merlin Hicks on April 9, 1990.
She loved her family so much and always went out of her way to cook, bake and see that everyone had their favorite meals to enjoy.
Kathleen loved flowers and spent many hours gardening. Mom always said, 'The kiss of the sun for a pardon, the song of the birds for mirth, one is nearer to God's heart in a garden... than anywhere else on earth!' She is now in her favorite garden of all.
She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Merlin; twin daughters, Judy Washburn of Albuquerque, N.M.and Joanie Garvin of Albuquerque; three stepsons, Jeffrey (Pat) Hicks of De Pere, Wis., Dennis Hicks of Iron Mountain, and Steven (Cenia) Hicks of Seal Beach, Calif.; four stepdaughters, Carrie (Greg) Kelm of Sobieski, Wis., Mary (Mark) Wenzel of Aurora, Wis., Anne (Tom Riske) Hicks of Iron Mountain and Jeanine (Tom) Graham of Woodinville, Wash.; two grandchildren, Kara and Scott Garvin; one great-grandson, Zachary Garvin; step-grandchildren, Andrew and Aric Hicks, Adam and Travis Kelm, Jaclyn and Terese Wenzel, MacKenzie and Jenna Graham; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Lee of Albuquerque.
Kathleen was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lee; and a stepson, Timothy Hicks.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kelly Wildt
FENCE, Wis. - Kelly Wildt, 43, of Fence, Wis., died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at her home.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Fence Town Hall in Fence.
The Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Marjorie Trecartin
QUINNESEC - Marjorie V. Trecartin, 89, of 1038 Quinnesec St., Quinnesec, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
Marjorie was born June 29, 1915, in Roann, Ind., daughter of the late Orlan and Lettie (Butler) Eller. She lived in Quinnesec most of her life.
She married Richard Trecartin in 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1980.
Marjorie enjoyed gardening and sewing. She loved being a homemaker and was a terrific cook.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, John Schomer and a son-in-law, Herman Schomer.
Marjorie is survived by three children, Richard (Mary) Trecartin of Breitung Township, Lois Schomer of Aurora, Wis., and Valorie Freeman of Quinnesec. She was the beloved grandmother of Sam (Kathy) Schomer, Joe (Sherry) Schomer, Lori Schomer, Bob (Nan) Trecartin, Linda Holmes, Evelyn (Steve) Campioni, John (Susan) Carlson, James (Mary) Carlson and David Freeman. Great-grandmother of Jennifer Schomer, Koree Krans, Jason Krans, Joshua Schomer, Stacy Schomer, Craig Holmes, Erica Trecartin, Angela (Eric) St. Vincent, Rick Campioni, Mike Campioni, Jodi Carlson, Nicholas Carlson, Mark Carlson, Jacob Freeman and James Freeman; and a sister, Lucille Bunt of Vulcan.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kingsford Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate.
Burial will be in the Quinnesec cemetery.
