Robert Peterson
IRON MOUNTAIN - Robert J. Peterson, 77, of 612 East A St., Iron Mountain, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at his home.
Bob was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Edward and Anna (Brickner) Peterson. He graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1946, and has been a resident of the area his entire life.
Bob served with the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant.
He married the former Dorothy Alm on Jan. 14, 1950, in Iron Mountain.
Bob worked as a truck driver for Clairmont Transfer and the Teamsters Union for 38 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was involved in the church choir, taught Sunday School for 40 years and served as a church elder.
Bob was very involved with the Boy Scouts and served as scout master for 54 years. He was also a member of the community chorus. Bob loved the outdoors, fishing, canoeing, riding his bike, walking, listening to music and reading.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Cheryl (Kenneth) Swan of Iron Mountain; his son, Brian (Kristi) Peterson of Milwaukee; three brothers, Clayton (Anne) Peterson of Sault Ste. Marie, Edward Peterson of Duluth and Harold Peterson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Lorraine Chartier of Cleveland, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Kim and two sisters, Mary Malm and Lillian Massicotte.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford.
Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at the church. Rev. Michael March will officiate.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

Pierino Frigo
AURORA, Wis.. - Pierino 'Pete' Frigo, beloved husband and father, 85, of Irvine, Calif., formerly of Green Bay, died and peacefully entered into eternal life on April 19, 2005.
He was born on April 7, 1920, in Wausaukee, Wis., the first son of Pasquale and Camilla Frigo.
He is survived by his wife, Alma; his children, Marianna Ochoa, Gregory (Stella), Dorothy (Mike) Weishaar, Peter (Deb), Paul (Sonia), Terri (Robert) Rose, Mark (Deb), Denise Mendez, Rita, Angela Leon, Joan (Mark) Duffy, Ann (Rich) Beu, Bill (Donna), Michelle (Don) Fortune, Suzanne (Edward) Provencal, Rebecca (Albert) Sellers; his sisters, Teresa Zappatelli, Sr. Pasqualine, Pasqualina (John) Young; his brothers, Tony (Frances), Father Billy, Paul and Camille; his sister-in-law, Fran, and brother-in-law, Gildo De Muri. He is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elsie, his brothers, Leo, Francis, Dominic, Pio and his sisters, Philomena Klee, Mary Louise and Christina De Muri.
Pete received his bachelor of arts degree from St. Francis Seminary. He attended many courses on the dairy industry at the University of Wisconsin. He proudly served his country during World War II.
He began his career with Frigo Cheese Corp. in 1945 as the quality control and milk procurement manager. From 1957 to 1963, he opened and then managed the sales branch in California. He served as the president of the corporation from 1963 until 1980. He was elected chairman of the board and served from 1980 until 1984 when retired from the corporation.
The family with greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday at Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home in Iron Mountain and at Sacred Heart Church in Aurora from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aurora Wis. Fr. Billy Frigo will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow in the cemetery Park.
The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home of Iron Mountain is assisting the family with arrangements.

Milan Hedmark
AURORA, Wis. - Milan Richard Hedmark, age 3, of Aurora, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 22, 2001, in Iron Mountain, the son of Paul and Jan (Melin) Hedmark.
Milan was a happy and loving little boy, who enjoyed life to its fullest. He was affectionately called "smilin' Milan." He enjoyed playing with his tractors, bulldozers, pow-pow, and Grandpa Bob's 'injun ponies.' He especially enjoyed being outdoors and going fishing and hunting with his dad.
He is survived by his parents, Jan and Paul; his sister, Sydney; his grandparents, Richard and Joyce Melin of Cordova, Ill. and Bob and Sandy Hedmark of Aurora; his great-grandparents, Vita Hedmark of Niagara, Wis., Dorothy Melin of Iron Mountain, and Joe and Opal Crockett of Russellville, Ark.; his aunts and uncles, Sandra (Paul) Dunaway of Kaneville, Ill., Sherri Nichols of Conroe, Texas, Lee (Carlene) Hedmark of Homestead, Wis., Julie (Kevin) Olsen of Homestead and Mindy (Ben) Angle of Homestead; and many cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Milan Hedmark, Gordon Melin, and Evald and Edith Osterberg.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Homestead Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the church. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

Isabelle Bartoletti
IRON MOUNTAIN - Isabelle J. Bartoletti, 83, of 114 W. Smith St., Iron Mountain, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Formolo) Marchetti. Isabelle was a lifelong resident of the area.
She married Richard Bartoletti on Jan. 3, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1985.
Isabelle was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Guild. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino with her son, Dick and watching Sunday night and Monday night football.
Isabelle is survived by her son, Richard Bartoletti of Iron Mountain; her daughter, Ann (William) Beckerson of Zion, Ill.; a brother, Louis (Jean) Marchetti of Green Bay, Wis.; two sisters, Dorothy (Don) Edens of Kingsford and Lucille McLeod of Duluth, Minn.; a granddaughter, Margaret (Brandon) Angeloff of Alexandria, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Angelo and John Marchetti and three sisters, Anne Kaiman, Alice Ledin and Mary Eutizzi.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home and at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be cemetery Park.
Pallbearers will be Donald Edens Jr., Bill Edens, Don Lee, Rick Klingelhutz, Mark Edens and Jim Fornetti.

Timothy Campbell
KINGSFORD - Timothy James Campbell, 54, of 317 Harrison Ave., Kingsford, died, Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at the V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Tim was born June 3, 1950, in Munising, son of the late Gordon and Audrey (Schamburger) Campbell. He graduated from Mathers High School in Munising.
Tim enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served two tours in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. Tim served with distinction during his time in the Marine Corps and received several decorations. He worked as a laborer in construction for most of his life.
He married Bernadine Case in Iron Mountain in August 1994.
Tim was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He was also a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, western movies and grilling out with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadine Campbell of Kingsford; two sons, Mark and Adam Campbell; three stepsons, Wesley Nicolls of Spread Eagle, Wis., Nick Nicolls of Kingsford, and Don Jones of Iron Mountain; a stepdaughter, Misty Blue of Kingsford; four brothers, Gordon 'Bacco' (Helen) Campbell of Milwaukee, Jim (Judy) Campbell of Manitowoc, Wis., David Campbell of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Donald (Teresa) Campbell of Iron Mountain; four sisters, Judy (Ron) Latvala, Candy (Bob) Hertzler, Joan (Emond) Gundick, and Lyn (Jim) Gariepy; a very special granddaughter, Messiah Mercedes of Kingsford; and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Campbell.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
The funeral service will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.

Lester Berger
IRON MOUNTAIN - Lester E. Berger, 82, of N6310 M-95, Iron Mountain, died Monday, April 11, 2005, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
Les was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Niagara, Wis., son of the late Emil and Leona (Schetter) Berger. He graduated from Niagara High School in 1940, and was a resident of the area his entire life.
Les was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater.
He married Bernadine DeLoughary on Sept. 6, 1947, in Bark River. She preceded him in death in 1969. Les married June Cocking on Feb. 28, 1970, at First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain.
He worked as a machine tender for the Niagara paper mill for 45 years until retiring in 1987. Les was a member of First Covenant Church and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3674. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Les is survived by his wife, June; 10 children, Patrick (Debbie) Berger of Columbus, Ga., Michael (Debbie) Berger of Marquette, Tim Berger of Ramah, N.M., Robert DeGroot of Virginia Beach, Va., Ellen (Tim) McKee of Kincheloe, Douglas DeGroot of Norway, Robert (Vicki) Berger of Green Bay, Wis., Kenneth (Julie) DeGroot of Iron Mountain, Mary (Ralph) Lorenzoni of Iron Mountain, and Eileen Berger of Iron Mountain; one sister, Marie Joyce (Jim) Ratajczyk of Clintonville, Wis.; 22 grandchildren, Shaun Berger, Brian, Kimberly, Benjamin, and Samara Berger, Jason DeGroot, Timothy and Thomas McKee, Ryan and Cory DeGroot, Jaclyn Berger, Lindsey and Kacie Soquet, Joshua, Shantel and Ciarra DeGroot, Glenn, Neil and Anthony Lorenzoni and Alexander, MaKayla and Ashley Berger and two great-grandchildren, Anthony DeGroot and Jordan Berger.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Les was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Berger; a grandson, Keith Edward DeGroot; two brothers, Don and Francis Berger and two sisters, Dorothy and Dolores.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Pastor Dan Wheeler will officiate.
Burial will be in Niagara cemetery. The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will conduct military graveside services.
Pallbearers will be Brian Berger, Joshua DeGroot, Timothy and Thomas McKee, Shaun Berger and Glenn Lorenzoni.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.

Fannie Vanderwarf
NIAGARA, Wis. - Fannie L. Vanderwarf, 87, of 1664 River St., Niagara, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at home with her daughter at her side.
She was born on April 4, 1918, in Livingston, Ky., daughter of the late James and Mabel (Easley) Paris. She graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Ill., class of 1936. Upon graduation, she attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for one year. She worked as a personal secretary for the commissioner of the water department in Chicago Heights for many years.
Fannie's biggest achievement in life was being a mother. She was an avid reader, and a spectacular letter writer. She enjoyed studying the Bible. She taught many Sunday school classes of all ages, and led many youth groups in different churches. She did some personal counseling.
Fannie is survived by six children, Paul Vanderwarf of Biloxi, Miss, Ruth Joy Vanderwarf of Niagara, James Vanderwarf of Laramie, Wyo., John (Connie) Vanderwarf of Livermore, Colo., Stephen Vanderwarf of Philadelphia, and Gary (Debra) Vanderwarf of Dunbar, Wis.; two brothers, James Herbert (Doris) Paris of Loveland, Colo. and Oliver (Nola) Paris of Thorton, Ill.; a sister, Okla (Keaton) Harvey of Hazelcrest, Ill.; grandchildren, Mark, Scott, Jonathon, Aaron, Rachel, Sandra, Trudy, Andrew, Tina, Jeremy, and Jason; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death in 1977 by Harold, whom she married in 1941. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Paris; a sister, Mel Paris; a granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Vanderwarf; and a great-grandson, Austin Vanderwarf.
On Thursday, there will be a Home Going Memorial from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Niagara Senior Center with coffee and desert. It will be a time of sharing, celebration, and appreciation for Fannie's life and all who knew her and cared for her through the years.
The visitation will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Dan Wheeler will officiate.
Burial will be in the Niagara cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.
