Lori Schomer
AURORA, Wis. - Lori J. Schomer, 44, of Aurora, Wis., died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at her home in Aurora.
She was born on April 15, 1960, in Norway, daughter of Lois (Trecartin) Schomer and the late Herman Schomer. Lori was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Florence High School in 1978.
She loved antiques, plants, and was considered to have a green thumb.
She is survived by one son, Jason Krans and one daughter, Koree Krans, both of Aurora; her mother, Lois Schomer of Aurora; two brothers, Sam (Kathy) Schomer of Niagara and Joe (Sherry) Schomer of Aurora; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lori also leaves many devoted friends and caregivers.
Lori was preceded in death by her father, Herman Schomer in 1995 and by one brother, John Schomer in 1981.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Kingsford Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Kingsford with the funeral arrangements.

Barbara Peterson
KINGSFORD - Barbara J. Peterson, 73, of 308 Cherry St., Kingsford, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.
She was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Raymond and Jeanette (Renning) LeClaire. Barb was a lifelong resident of the area.
She married Robert A. Peterson on July 16, 1949, at Immaculate Conception Church in Iron Mountain.
Barb had worked nine years at the Kingsford Drug Store and at Shopko for 23 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church and had taught CCD for many years. Barb enjoyed cooking, knitting and gardening, she loved her flowers. Her family was the center of her life and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert A. Peterson; three sons, Robert Stephen (Kathy) Peterson of Iron Mountain, Thomas Lee Peterson of Iron Mountain, and James Ray (Janice) Peterson of Kingsford; three brothers, Ronnie (Rosemary) LeClaire of Iron Mountain, Mark (Kay) LeClaire and Gary (Jodi) LeClaire, both of Kingsford; two sisters, Nancy Mortl of Milwaukee and Cheryle Fredrickson of Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Clint (Jodie) Peterson, Theresa Peterson, Rebecca Peterson, Sara Peterson, Matthew Peterson, and Trevor and Aaron Peterson; four great-granddaughters, Savahnna, Victoria, Brianna, and Cassidy; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Hassell, Marlene (Joe) Ciochetto, and Bonnie (Gary) Antonetti and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond 'Pee-wee' LeClaire and an infant brother, Duane LeClaire.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Queen of Peace Church. Fr. Michael Woempner will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in cemetery Park. Pallbearers will be Robert and Clint Peterson, Tom and Matthew Peterson and Jim, Trevor, and Aaron Peterson.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.

Robert Mongrain
KINGSFORD - Robert Mongrain, 90, of 213 Lyman St. Kingsford, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wis.
Bob was born May 30, 1913, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Lambert) Mongrain and has been a lifelong resident of this area. Bob's family were pioneer residents of Kingsford.
His father, Joseph was a well known business man and leader during the development of Kingsford.
Bob's father owned all the land from Woodward Avenue south to the Menominee River.
Henry Ford purchased the land from the Mongrain family.
Bob was a 1933 graduate of Iron Mountain High School.
He married the former LaVerne Eyers on April 24, 1937, in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 1996.
Bob worked for the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Transit Lines for 18 years. He also worked for Clairmont Transfer for 12 years retiring in 1969. Bob was a member of the Balsam Street Christian Church.
He is survived by two sons, Dale of Brawley, Calif. and Gary of Kingsford; eight grandchildren, Rod, Wendy, Bryan, Kim, Jason, Darren, Ron and Jamie and many great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by nine brothers, Henry, Edward, Aloric, Leonce, Alfred, George, Arthur, Joseph, Albert and three sisters, Olivine Gleason, Eva Gauthier and Marie McKenna.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kingsford Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Kingsford Funeral Home. Pastor William Condray will officiate. Burial will be cemetery Park.

Rose Burcar
IRON MOUNTAIN - Rose Burcar, 85, of Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Florence Villa Nursing Home.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1920, in Greenland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sophia (Jakovac) Burcar.
Miss Burcar lived in Milwaukee for 33 years. She was a secretary at Cutler Hammer (Eaton Co.) in Milwaukee.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at cemetery Park. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Marty Sundholm
FELCH - Marty R. Sundholm, 42, of Kingsford, formerly of Felch, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Columbus, Ohio.
Marty was born May 20, 1962, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Arlington and Agnes (Dietzler) Sundholm. He graduated from North Dickinson High School in 1980.
Marty enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1983 and was an avionics specialist. He was stationed in Japan during his service and was honorably discharged in 1989.
His military training then allowed him to work for Lockheed Corp. building computer components. He also worked for numerous electrical contractors across the United States as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Marty played baseball for the Iron Mountain American Legion and the Felch Rangers. He was chosen the most valuable pitcher in Felch's Labor Day Hardball Classic in 1988. Marty enjoyed hunting and all sports. He especially liked golfing, Nascar racing and was an avid Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. Most of all, Marty loved his nieces and nephews dearly and was very proud of each of them.
He is survived by four sisters, Cheryl (Mike) Bammer of Chepachet, R.I., Barbara (William) Blohm of Glenview, Ill., Meridy Sundholm (David Bigelow) of Arnold, and Lynn (Joe) Reddinger of Kingsford; two brothers, Stewart (Nancy) Sundholm and Kevin (Missy) Sundholm, both of Felch; five nephews, Steve (Jodi) Bammer, Brian Blohm, Sean (Celina) Sundholm, Brad Sundholm and Scott Reddinger; nine nieces, Cindee (Bob) Stacey, Barbara Bammer, Lori Blohm, Lisa (Dan) Rappel, Betsy Sundholm (Derek Pogirski), Chantel, Jackie and Colleen Sundholm and Tara (Chris) Hartman; and special friends, David Satarino of Chicago, Danny Galindo of Kingsford and Mary Dustin of Las Vegas, Nev.
Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Kingsford Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Kingsford Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Fr. George Kuppayil will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The Felch-Breen Veterans of Foreign Wars post will conduct a graveside service.
Burial will be in Felch cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Bammer, Brian Blohm, Sean and Brad Sundholm, and Scott and Joe Reddinger. Honorary pallbearers will be David Satarino and Danny Galindo.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Marty's memory.

Margaret Peres
CRYSTAL FALLS - Margaret Peres, 86, formerly of East Chicago and Munster, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. She was an Indiana resident for 85 years before moving to Crystal Falls.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary (Richard) Dryjanski of Crystal Falls; her son, Johnny (Irene) Peres of Henderson, Nev.; four grandchildren, Dawn Dryjanski of St. Petersberg, Fla., Major Jim (Lt. Col. Celeste) Dryjanski of San Antonio, Texas, Tamara (Patrick) Bredar of Cape Coral, Fla. and Tod (Stacey) Peres of Cape Coral; five great-grandchildren, Katherine, Alexis and Zoe Dryjanski and Madelynne and Nolani Peres; four sisters-in-law, Annie Vant, Mary Jones, Gina Richards, Sandy Korgich; a brother-in-law, Mike Peres and her old friends, Mary Bell, Ann Tilley and Rose Urbanski.
Margaret's last several months were spent at Maryhill Manor nursing home in Niagara, Wis. She loved dancing, going to garage sales and had a great sense of humor.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents, Andrew and Mary Bonya.
Margaret was employed for some time at the Rand-McNally Co. She retired from the Munster Community Hospital after years of service.
Private services will be held at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home

Lorraine Steinke
IRON MOUNTAIN - Lorraine Steinke, 86, of 1628 S. Park, Iron Mountain, died Friday, Aug.12, 2005, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Chicago, daughter of the late Samuel and Emma (Bock) LeRoy. She graduated from Carl Sherer High School in Chicago and then went on to study dancing and the fine arts in Chicago.
Lorraine met and married Dr. Charles Steinke on June 17, 1939, in Chicago, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2000.
For many years she taught dancing, and worked as the bookkeeper in her husband's practice.
Lorraine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain. She liked to sew, and was involved with the hospital league. She was also very involved in politics in her early years in Iron Mountain.
She is survived by one daughter, Ann Louise Glaeser of Green Bay, Wis.; two sons, Charles Gilbert (Patricia) Steinke of Green Bay, and Roy James (Jane) Steinke of Kingsford; six grandchildren, Charles (LaRissa) Steinke III, Steven (Autumn) Steinke, Jerome 'J.C.' Glaeser, Jeffrey Steinke, Roy Steinke Jr., and Jared Steinke; three great- grandchildren, Casandra and Chelsea Berry, and Samantha Steinke.
Lorraine was preceded in death by a sister, Iris, and two brothers, Chester and Howard.
Private family services are being held. Rev. Pauline Rupe will officiate. Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
The family of Lorraine Steinke thanks Nustar Home Health Services for their kindness and compassion throughout these past years.

Ruth D'Andrea
KINGSFORD - Ruth D'Andrea, 90, of Mary's Way, Kingsford, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at Freeman's Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
Mrs. D'Andrea was born March 24, 1915, in Foster City, daughter of Fred and Beatrice Warden.
She married Armond 'Mondo' D'Andrea on Feb. 29, 1936. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1999.
For many years, Mrs. D'Andrea was the executive director of Girls Scouts and later Camp Fire Girls in the Iron Mountain-Kingsford area.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as president of the Women's Association. She served on the Iron Mountain School Board from 1953-1957 and served as treasurer for two years. She served on the steering committee that was instrumental in the establishment of the Community Schools in our area. She was a member of the Iron Mountain Women's Club.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Robert) Melendes of Montvale, N.J. and Terese (Dennis) Engquist of Kingsford; six grandchildren, Stephen Melendes of Haddonfield, N.J., Christopher Melendes of Short Hills, N.J. and Joseph Melendes of New York City, Kristen Marshall of Appleton, Wis., Kimberly (Michael) Servia of Parker, Colo., and Kenneth (Jennifer) Engquist of Salt Lake City, Utah and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Jean (Paul) Nelson and Mildred (Kie) Brans and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Warden, Donald Warden and Edward Warden; two sisters, Carrie Shoquist and Ella Mae Carlson Mette; and five brothers-in-law; Paul Nelson, Kie Brans, Nobel Carlson, Glenn Mette, and Ray Shoquist.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Kingsford. Rev. Michael March will officiate. A fellowship hour will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
Pallbearers include Stephen Melendes, Christopher Melendes, Joseph Melendes, Ken Engquist and Michael Servia. Honorary pallbearers are Armidor Colavecchi, John Colavecchi, Robert Wedin and Paul Santoni
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for the youth of the First Presbyterian Church.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.
