Toivo was a man of integrity, of great patience and kindness. One look into his eyes and you could see 'love.' A true man of God in every character of his being. Some called him father, brother, grandfather, and one called him 'wonderful husband.' All that knew him could see a 'gentle spirit.' Now he walks with the king of kings and other gentle spirits. Now he walks with mom in God's green garden. Down paths of green and flowers so bright, they walk hand in hand in God's guiding light. There are no more worries, there is no more pain, there is only love and happiness, there is no more rain. Mom and dad are reunited now and happy as can be, there is no reason to be sad for love is all they see. The love of God and the angels above embrace them now with their sweet love. We will miss you dearly dad, but you will never be forgotten.
'My Dad'
My dad, loving, gentle, kind and always caring.
Ears listening, shoulders to cry on.
I love you, dad you will always be in my heart.
You're in heaven now, in God's hands and grace you lie.
Peace and contentment to thee do I pray.
Pray for you always, with the saints you do dwell.
To watch over and guide me.
Praise to the most Glorious Lord on high.
I miss you dad, I know you are always near.
In my heart and my thoughts with mom, gone on before.
(you wait no more)
The Lord has answered your prayer and opened the gates of heaven, the door.
In heaven you both do dwell with the Lord God on High.
One day we will be together again.
Until then dad, you will always be near in my heart.
I love you dad. Love your daughter, Val
Always forevermore
Dad was born in a log cabin in Trenary in a lumber camp. He grew up in Kipling. Dad started working at 15 years old at a lumber mill. He had to lie about his age to get a job. He worked for 10 cents an hour with 10 hour days. He saved $500 to buy a 1927 Model A touring car. His second car was a Model T which cost over $500. He worked and saved and paid cash for his cars. Once he lost a back wheel of his Model A driving too fast around a corner.
Dad remembered wearing long, white cotton night gowns to bed as a boy. He milked cows and sold milk for a penny or two a bucket.
He fought in World War II. He served in Battery A, 93rd AAA Gun Battalion in the Pacific Theater.
He married Betty Jane Fugere in Crown Point, Ind. on Aug. 27, 1947.
Dad had a love for life, his wife, and family and a determination to get things done and to get them done properly. He loved gardening and planted a least three large gardens of vegetables and beautiful gladiola flowers every summer.
He was a very gentle and patient man who loved his God and attended church regularly. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kingsford.
All of his children, their spouses and grandchildren will miss the sparkle in his blue eyes and his kind and compassionate gentle touch.
Of all life's treasures, the best by far are some of the happy memories I have of my dad and I, and the time I spent alone talking to him about some of his past experiences in life. I'm proud to say Toivo Jacob Anderson is my dad. Until we meet in heaven - I LOVE YOU!!
John 3:16 'For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.'
Promise from God, Matthew 5:4 'God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted'.
We know where our Father is and it gives us great comfort.
