William Bussiere
KINGSFORD - William J. Bussiere, 80, of 401 Green Bay St., Marquette, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at ManorCare Nursing Home in Kingsford.
Bill was born March 30, 1925, in Hancock, son of the late William Sr. and Nina (Jantraw) Bussiere.
He worked as a delivery driver for Spear & Sons Lumber Co. for many years until retiring in 1986. Bill was a resident of the Marquette area for most of his life until coming to Kingsford recently. One of his favorite pasttimes was working on cars.
Bill is survived by three sons, Daniel (CeCelia) Bussiere of Kingsford, Paul (Kyong) Bussiere of Ishpeming, and David Bussiere of Marquette; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Dube.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. (Central time) at the Aurora Free Church in Aurora. Rev. Karl Utzat will officiate.
Burial will be in Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

John and Carol Corriveau
HARDWOOD - John N. Corriveau, 78, and Carol J. Corriveau, 77, of Hardwood, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2005.
John was born May 1, 1927, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Arthur and Ora (Bellefeuille) Corriveau. After his high school graduation, he attended Valparaiso Technical School. John was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy.
Carol was born May 25, 1928, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Henry and Lottie (Cootware) Peronto. She was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School.
John and Carol were married on June 12, 1946, in Iron Mountain. They moved to the Milwaukee area where John worked as an electrical engineer for WISN Channel 12 in Milwaukee for 27 years, retiring in 1981. They returned to this area in 1981.
In their retirement, John and Carol enjoyed spending the winters in Yuma, Ariz. They also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, traveling, jewelry making, and music, especially classical guitar.
They are survived by their five children, Dennis (Kathy) Corriveau of Big Bend, Wis., David Corriveau of Milwaukee, Keith (Ruth) Corriveau of Onalaska, Wis., Susan (Robert) Lazich of Green Valley, Calif. and Linda (Michael) Lange of Big Bend; Carol's brothers, Hank Peronto of Iron Mountain and Lowell Peronto of Madison, Wis. and sister, Joyce (Bill) Brew of Norway; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by four sisters.
Private family services are being held.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.

Frank Santini
IRON MOUNTAIN - Frank "Fluff" Santini, 74, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 200, 5 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Iron Mountain, the son of Frank Santini Sr. and Marion (Kimichick) Santini.
He married MaryAnn (Costa) on July 10, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Church.
They resided in Iron Mountain full time until their retirement when they wintered in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Frank "Fluff" Santini is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his son, Steve (Nancy) Santini; daughter, Paula (Albert), Santoni; mother, Marion (Kimichick) Santini; grandchildren, Jenna and Jason Santini, Mario and Anthony Santoni; a sister, Joyce Santini. He is also survived by many close nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sr., and his brother, Marvin.
Frank attended area schools and graduated from Iron Mountain High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War. 'Fluff' worked as a miner for 28 years, both underground in Ishpeming and surface mining at Groveland Mine for the Hanna Mining Co.
He served as Dickinson County Mine Inspector since 1985, and because of his knowledge of mining was instrumental in fencing in many dangerous areas and shafts in the area.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, American Legion, Paisano Club, and was active in the Democratic Party. He also was a former member of the Kiwanis Ski Club and worked hard on fund raising.
'Fluff' enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, going to Camp Capestrano, gardening, wine-making and was an excellent wild game and 'Italian' cook. He also enjoyed his poker nights.
Frank had an intense love for his family, and watched over them with great pride.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Mud Altobelli, Donald Mariucci, Bernard Querio, Ray Cerasoli, Ed Pilot, and Don Danielson.
Pallbearers will be: Dennis Santini, Jason Plemel Santini, Mario Santoni, Anthony Santoni, Mike Altobelli and Tom Schorman.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

Ethel Miron
IRON MOUNTAIN - Ethel L. Miron, 75, of Iron Mountain, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at her home.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1929, in Kingsford, daughter of the late George and Adele (DeGrand) Miron. She attended Kingsford schools, and graduated from Kingsford High School Class of 1948.
Ethel worked as a secretary for Lake Shore for more than 39 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, golf, and bingo.
She is survived by a brother, Harry (Mary) Miron of Holland, lower Michigan; two sisters, Olive Dallatorre of Norway and Elsie Gara of Villa Park, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by siblings, Laura Ostwall, Joseph Miron, Rocky Miron, Clara Johnson, and Lawrence Miron.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.
The burial will be in the Escanaba Township cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Bernard Maloney
IRON MOUNTAIN - Bernard R. 'Buna' Maloney, 81, of 900 West A St., Iron Mountain, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at Evergreen Heights Apartments in Kingsford.
He was born April 29, 1924, in Ishpeming, son of the late Edward and Mary 'Minnie' (Roberts) Maloney. Buna was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the aircraft carrier CVE-82 USS Saginaw Bay in the Pacific Theatre of operations.
Buna married the former Dorothy Rice in 1946 at St. John's Church in Ishpeming. He was the chief engineer of radio station WJPD in Ishpeming from the time of its construction in 1947 until 1955. Buna was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local union 1070 and worked as a construction electrician for many years. In 1968, he moved to Iron Mountain and worked as an estimator and project engineer for MJ Electric until his retirement in 1981.
Buna was a 60-year life member of the Ishpeming Elks Lodge 447 where he served as Exalted Ruler and District Deputy of the Grand Lodge. He also was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain where he served as an usher.
Buna enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid snowmobiler. He loved his camp on Fish Lake near Champion where he spent his summers.
Buna leaves his wife of 59 years, Dorothy; a daughter, Mary Gail (Lou) Praznik of Marquette; two sons, Mark (Carol) Maloney of Iron Mountain and Michael (Patti) Maloney of Clinton, lower Michigan; grandchildren, Christine (Andrew) Brunette of Gaylord, lower Michigan, Brad Meyer of Chicago, Daniel and Julia Maloney of Iron Mountain and Katie and Allison Maloney of Clinton.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; an infant son; and a sister, Betty Bennetts.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in Ishpeming cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bernard's memory to St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Northwoods Airlifeline or the Dickinson County Cancer Unit.

Ora Lerza
IRON MOUNTAIN - Ora M. Lerza, 85, of 421 Vulcan St., Iron Mountain, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
She was born on March 13, 1920, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Michael and Domenica (Secinaro) Lerza.
Ora was a Jehovah's Witness.
She is survived by her sister Cele Chornenky of Pittsburgh, and many nieces and nephews.
Miss Lerza was preceded in death by four sisters, Victoria S. Marine, Sandra Marine, Gilda Albertini, and Francis Giancola; and one brother, Albert Lerza.
There will be no services.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.

Erlaine Johnston
KINGSFORD - Erlaine D. Johnston, 79, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
Erlaine was born on Aug. 10, 1926, in Hyde, the daughter of the late Bertha and Myron Legg Sr. She lived in the Upper Peninsula most of her life. Erlaine was a 1944 graduate of Escanaba High School.
She married Craig A. Johnston. He preceded her in death in April of 1985. They were living in Grand Island, Neb. at the time, where Craig was the district sales manager for DeVere Chemical Co.
Erlaine attended Quinnesec United Methodist Church and volunteered for its bible school. She worked many years at the M&J; Restaurant and worked in food service until her retirement. She and her husband enjoyed many long road trips to visit their grandchildren. Her most memorable times were summer holidays at the Charles Johnston Lodge and sharing Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays at her mother's home with many relatives and friends.
Erlaine was an avid reader and was up-to-date on national and political news. She enjoyed the many family pets she had over the years. Erlaine had a true appreciation of nature and enjoyed flower gardening. In her latter years, she enjoyed spending winters at her daughter's, Sharon (Jim) Pearson, home in Arizona.
Erlaine is survived by her four children, Sharon (Jim) Pearson of Glendale, Ariz., Sheri Meinolf of Kingsford, Mark (Joan) Johnston of Omaha, Neb., and Kurt (Susan) Johnston of Kingsford; her one special sister, Joan Strom of Escanaba; seven grandchildren, Shawn (Laura) Johnston of Alaska, Cordi Juhler of Omaha, Kristopher (Debi) Johnston of Iron Mountain, Troy Meinolf of Kingsford, Tara (Brian) LaVigne of Kingsford, and Sasha and Sarah Fowler of Omaha; six great grandchildren, Faith and Christian LaVigne of Kingsford, Gavin and Aden Johnston of Kingsford, and Ian and Luke Johnston of Alaska; along with several other beloved relatives.
Erlaine was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Myron Legg Jr. and Gene Legg; a son-in-law, Steven Meinolf and a special sister-in-law, Sally Johnston-Hoell.
Erlaine's request of cremation will be honored.
Contributions in Erlaine Johnston's memory may be made to the Springlake Humane Society or the Quinnesec United Methodist Church.
