Marilyn Struebing
IRON MOUNTAIN - Marilyn Struebing, 68, of 914 Wells St., Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
She was born on Aug. 23, 1937, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Albert and Angeline (St. Louis) Tippett. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School Class of 1955, where she was in the top ten percent of the class.
Marilyn married Ronald Struebing on Dec. 17, 1955, in Iron Mountain at the original First United Presbyterian Church on Brown Street.
She worked for more than 46 years at Champion Inc., retiring in August 2002. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford, where she was a member of the choir for many years. Marilyn was a member of the Pine Grove Country Club since 1960. She loved golfing, and in earlier years, bowling.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald of Iron Mountain; a sister, Shirley (Frank) Moschet of Silver Bay, Minn., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Troyan.
Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford.
The funeral service will be at 12 noon at the church. Rev. Michael March will officiate.
Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dickinson County Cancer Unit at 1401 1/2 S. Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain, MI 49801.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.

Patricia Shaw
ALAMO, Texas, - Patricia Ann Shaw, 71, formerly of Iron Mountain, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, in Alamo.
She was born Oct. 18, 1934 in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late William and Louise Desmaris.
She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1954 and graduated from nursing school in Milwaukee. She was a registered nurse.
Patricia was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She had many lifelong interests including traveling, camping, sewing, and needlecraft. She was very active and enjoyed swimming, shuffleboard and outdoor activities. She was a member of the Catholic Church and had lived in Rogers, Ark., for more than 20 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and remembered fondly by everyone who knew her.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Ed Willianian of Duluth, Minn.; a sister, Joanne LaPointe of Iron Mountain; daughters, Mary Louise (Dennis) Wohlford of Rogers, Ark., Laurie (Mark) Youssef of Dubai United Arab Emirites, Joanne (Tommy) Byrd of Rogers, Ark.; sons, William (Alicia) Davis of Avoca, Ark. and Louis A. Shaw of Fayetteville, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Shaw, and a brother-in-law, Robert LaPointe.
Visitation will be Mon. July 17, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. The memorial mass will be Tues. July 18 at 10:00 am at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Daniel Zaloga will celebrate the Mass.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with local funeral arrangements.

Gary Carlson
FELCH - Gary Carlson, 52, of Felch, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. He was born on April 3, 1953 in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Milton and Mary Sarah (Turrie) Carlson.
He is survived by two sisters Dorothy (Leon) Nykaza of Kihei, HI and Marion Carlson of Alexandria, VA, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Kathy DeCremer.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

William Lusiak
IRON MOUNTAIN - William "Bill" Lusiak, 55, of White Birch Village in Iron Mountain, formerly of Hardwood, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1951, in Milwaukee, son of Joseph and Ella (Johnson) Lusiak.
Bill grew up in Kenosha, Wis. where he worked for Ocean Spray. He moved to Hardwood 25 years ago.
Bill was a member of Mission Covenant Church and was a life member of the Men's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3674. He loved hunting, fishing and barbecuing for friends and family.
He is survived by his mother, Ella and his sister, Penny (Fred) Henke of St. Charles, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Lusiak.
Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Mission Covenant Church in Foster City.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Pastor Larry Neargarth will officiate.
Burial will be in the Gardens of Rest cemetery in Wells.
The Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carl Weinert
KINGSFORD - Carl John Weinert, 91, of Kingsford died on Monday, April 24, 2006, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born on March 23, 1915, in Hiawatha, son of the late Carl Joseph and Mary Theresia (Kaulfurst) Weinert. He started work at a very young age, working for the local dairy to help provide for his family.
He married Violet Bertha Sicore in Hermansville on Nov. 18, 1939, and they have spent nearly 67 years together.
Carl worked for the Groveland Mine for many years, retiring as plant supervisor in 1961. While at the mine he had many different titles and duties.
He was a lifelong resident of the area. Before settling in Kingsford, he and his family lived in the Merriman area more than 50 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a great storyteller, and to say he was an avid reader would be doing him no justice. He read many thousands of books over his lifetime. He also helped build the Pine Mountain Ski jump with one of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).
Carl is survived by his wife of more than 66 years, Violet; two sons, Carl (Judy) Weinert of Merrill, Wis. and James (Valeria) Weinert of Embarrass, Minn.; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Otto, Ozzie, and Wagner; and two sisters, Mary and Dorothy Ann.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Private family services were held.
Burial was in Quinnesec cemetery.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.

Carl Olson
KINGSFORD - Carl R. E. Olson, 52, of 405 Maple St., Kingsford, died, Sunday April 23, 2006 at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
Carl was born June 7, 1953, in Iron Mountain. He was a 1972 graduate of Kingsford High School and has been a lifelong resident of Kingsford.
Carl enjoyed Sudoku puzzles, working with numbers, reading, watching television and cooking. He was a HAM radio operator.
He is survived by his mother, Genevieve; a brother, Kelvin 'Kelly' Olson of Kingsford; sisters, Kristine Olson and Victoria Pike of Kingsford; two nieces, Jennifer Olson of Kingsford and Jessica Pike of Aurora, Wis. and one nephew, Zachary Pike of Aurora; and several aunts and uncles.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Russell Olson.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Homestead-Aurora cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.

Beatrice Larson
KINGSFORD - Beatrice E. Larson, 80, of 412 Hooper St., Kingsford, passed away in the arms of her family on Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born July 4, 1925, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Henry and Ranghild (Lindstrom) Tjernlund.
Bea graduated from Kingsford High School in 1943 and then moved to Detroit, where she was employed as a stenographer for the Burroughs Adding Machine Co.
On March 9, 1945, she married Allan R. Larson at the parsonage of First Presbyterian Church in Iron Mountain shortly before he shipped out to Japan to serve in the Army. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1991.
Bea and Allan moved back to the area upon his discharge from the Army and began to raise their family.
She worked many years as a waitress at the Dickinson Inn and also at the Breen Senior Center from where she eventually retired.
Bea was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church and the Martha-Rachel Circle. She enjoyed sewing and served as a 4-H Leader for many years. But the one thing she loved to do was play bridge. She was a member of the American Contract Bridge League and was very well known for her card-playing ability. She came to within 10 points of winning her masters before her stroke nearly three years ago.
She is survived by three sons, Dale Larson of Kingsford, Bernard (Mary Jean) Larson of Kingsford and Kenneth Larson (Cheryl) of San Diego; two daughters, Janet Schuirmann of Florence and Christine Larson of Iron Mountain; two sisters, Grace (Oliver) Lombardi of Livonia, lower Michigan, and Joanne Bradford of Rochester Hills, lower Michigan, 14 grandchildren, Tammy (Walter) Weber, Angela (Tim) Oshefsky, Dion Schuirmann (Mary Beth), David (Denise) Schuirmann, Cynthia Janz (Chad), Shawnie Chapman (son, Jeran), Christy (Randy) Sanford, Dale Larson Jr., Anthony Larson, Joshua Larson, Al Larson (fiance, Kim Koski), Jim Larson, Katie Larson (fiance, Rick Wright), and Ian Larson; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Paul (Eleanor) Larson of Iron Mountain; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bea was also preceded in death by a son, Robert, in 2004; four brothers, Harold, Donald, Richard and Clifford; and one sister, Hazel Shoquist.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Michael March will officiate.
Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens.
Bea's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home with the arrangements.

Everett Chellew
IRON MOUNTAIN - Everett N. Chellew, 88, of 401 East D St. in Iron Mountain, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born July 15, 1917, in Loretto, son of the late Newton and Louise (Enama) Chellew. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Everett married Mary Molle on March 14, 1936, in Niagara. She preceded him in death on April 24, 1994.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was employed as a truck driver for many years. Everett was a member of First Covenant Church and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed the outdoors, warm weather, and going for rides.
Everett is survived by two sons, Roy Sr. (Nancy) Chellew of Norway and Dennis (Kathy) Chellew of Vulcan; one daughter, Joyce (Ward) Trevillian of Iron Mountain; a sister, Phyllis Bargo of Iron Mountain; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren;12 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday at First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Dan Wheeler will officiate.
Burial will be in Norway cemetery.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.
