Emma E. Voelker
IRON MOUNTAIN - Emma E. Voelker, 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed on to eternal life on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006.
Emma was born on April 15, 1917, in Iron Mountain, to the late Verna and Edward Crebo.
She married her husband, George, on Aug. 23, 1943, in Milwaukee. George and Emma resided a short time in Milwaukee and California before moving back to Iron Mountain. She is a retired S.S. Kresge employee, who loved spending time with her family, gardening, camping, traveling, and playing cribbage with her husband George.
Emma is survived by her daughter and son and their spouses, Darla (Ed) Ashenbrenner of Two Rivers, Wis. and Bruce (Kristen) Voelker of Ann Arbor, lower Michigan; six grandchildren and their spouses, Travis (Christina) Ashenbrenner, Bryan (Amanda) Ashenbrenner, Tari (Christopher) Otradovec, Adrienne Voelker, Kyle (Julie) Voelker, and Morgan (Adam) Jeffrey; and great-grandchildren, Elle, Maeve, Connor, Kevin, and Jacob. She is further survived by three brothers-in-law and their spouses, Wayne (Corinne) Voelker of Kingsford, Harold of Pembine, Wis. and Herbert (Penny) of Seminole, Fla. and sisters-in-law, Vivian Voelker of Alpha and Gloria Voelker of New Port Richey, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; brothers, Edward, William, and Albert Crebo; a sister and brother-in-law, Virma and Charles Seymour, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Faye and Walter Krajewski and sister-in-laws, Bertina Voelker and Mary Voelker.
Friends may call at Trinity United Methodist Church, 808 Carpenter Ave in Iron Mountain, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday.
The funeral service will be held at the church at 12 noon with Pastor Debbie Thomas officiating.
Burial will be at the Iron Mountain cemetery Park.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Maryhill Manor of Niagara, Wis., for creating such a caring, loving environment for Emma and George.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home with the arrangements.

Jean Budny
IRON MOUNTAIN - Jean (Nardi) Budny, 88, formerly of 721 N. Kimberly Ave. in Iron Mountain, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at the home of her daughter, Nancy, in Oceanside, Calif.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1918, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Augustino and Aelisa (Nocerini) Nardi.
Jean has been a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain. After graduation from Iron Mountain High School in 1936, she earned a degree from Dundon's Business College.
She married her honey, Wally Budny, on May 10, 1940, in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1989.
Jean spent years in the downtown area of Iron Mountain, where she worked first as an assistant manager at Newberry Store, then to assist her sister, Perina Pastori at the well-known Perina's fashion store. She was dedicated to the business, keeping the accounts balanced and fitting countless women over the years with a variety of garments. She could always be counted on to give her honest opinion on fashion. Working with her husband, Wally, custom tailoring men's and women's clothes, they were in constant demand for a perfect fit. During her later years, she volunteered to help dress up dolls for resale at St. Vincent de Paul.
Jean was a woman of boundless energy. During her life, she carried on the North side Italian tradition of making homemade pasta and other treats. She spent many hours in her retirement cooking for others, especially for the elderly in nursing homes.
Jean was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a member of the Daughters of Isabella, and was active in different church committees. She was also a member of the Lady Elks.
Jean loved to travel and visit her children. She went to Italy to visit relatives. There was a large family reunion last summer in Iron Mountain where Jean was the guest of honor as the last living member of the great generation.
Jean loved her family and her church and will be greatly missed by those who loved her, and welcomed by those who have gone before her.
She is survived by her loving children, Carol (Tom) Hassell of Austin, Texas, Nancy (Ernie) Mascitti of Oceanside, Sally Budny of Iron Mountain, and Dan (Teresa) Budny of Pittsburgh and Alexandria, Va.; dearest grandchildren, Jeanne (Mike) Dahmus of Austin, Mark (Laura) Hassell of Colorado Springs, Colo., Amy (David) Woods of Atlanta, Jon (Heather) Hassell of Atlanta, Karen (Tim) Morgan of Austin, Lena Bartels of Grand Rapids, lower Michigan, Lydia Budny of Lafayette, Ind., Brian Budny of Pittsburgh and Eric Budny and Nathan Budny of Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Justin Couture, Ethan Dahmus, Logan Hassell, and Leo Morgan. She will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally Budny and four siblings, Perina Pastori, Fred Nardi, Margaret Raffin, and Ida Worthington.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in cemetery Park.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

Dorothy M. Davey
IRON MOUNTAIN - Dorothy Mae Davey, 90, formerly of 807 Margaret St. in Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Hyland Nursing Home.
She was born on Dec. 15, 1915, in Norway, daughter of the late George and MaryAnn (Mitchell) Davey. Dorothy has been a resident of this area for most of her life. After her high school graduation, she earned her bachelor's and master's Degree in education from Michigan State University.
Dorothy's teaching career included four years in Benzonia, lower Michigan and 10 years in Iron River. She spent time on the faculty at Michigan State University and then returned to Iron Mountain where she taught home economics at Iron Mountain High School for 18 years, retiring in 1973.
She was a very gifted and active lady. Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women of the church, the Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Hospital League Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Iron Mountain Music Club.
She loved to sew, knit and garden. Dorothy played the coronet in the Northwoods Symphony for many years.
She is survived by a brother, Robert Davey of Iron Mountain; five nephews, Roy (Trudy), Edward, James (Linda) Thomas (Joan) and Richard (Kim) Davey; and many cousins including a special cousin, Betty Broullire of Iron Mountain.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George 'Wesley' Davey
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
A luncheon will take place following the funeral service in the First United Methodist Church hall. Rev. David Snyder will officiate.
Burial will be in cemetery Park after the luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory to First United Methodist Church.

Frank D. Demko
FENCE, Wis. - Frank D. Demko, 92, of Fence, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1914, in Goodman, Wis., son of the late Stephen and Tecla "Tillie" (Mazur) Demko. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He married the former Florence Sadowski in 1939 in Chicago.
Frank worked as a farmer his entire life, and up until this year he was cutting his own firewood. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Frank is survived by his wife, Florence Demko; a son, Robert (Lauren) Demko of Aurora, Wis.; sisters, Mary Bacon of Three Lakes, Wis. and Ann Legerski of Florence, Wis.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Nelson in 2005, and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kingsford Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.
Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery in Goodman.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Kingsford Funeral Home of Kingsford with the funeral arrangements.

Duane D. Bauldry
REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio - Duane D. Bauldry, 86, a longtime resident of Reynoldsburg, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, after a short illness. For the past three years, he was a resident of Sunrise of Gahanna.
Duane was born in Chicago on Sept. 17, 1920, to the late Ferdinand and Margaret Bauldry. They moved to Iron Mountain, where Duane grew up and graduated from Iron Mountain Senior High School in 1939. Duane then attended the University of Idaho before entering the U.S. Army Air Corps in August 1942.
Duane was assigned to the 432 Bombardment Squadron, 17th Bombardment Group (B-26 Martin Marauder) and served with distinction as an aircraft electrical mechanic. He saw action in Tunisia, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, France, Rhineland, Northern Apennines and central Europe. During his tour he was awarded the French Croix de Guerre with Palm, Good Conduct Medal, and the Distinguished Unit Badge with Oak Leaf Cluster and six Battle Stars. Duane was honorably discharged as a sergeant in October 1945.
On Oct. 27, 1945, he married Edith M. Carollo of Iron Mountain. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Ohio first living in Newark before buying property and moving to Reynoldsburg.
Both Duane and Edith were heavily involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and were life members. They held many offices over the years and were members of Post 9473 in Reynoldsburg.
Duane was by trade a machinist. but was a very talented carpenter and a capable electrician. He enjoyed many summers in Northern Michigan, where both he and Edith co-owned a cottage with their nephew, Michael.
Duane is survived by his nephews and their families, Michael (Karen) Marlow of Green Bay, Wis., Paul (Marian) Marlow of Chaska, Minn., and Bill (Lorraine) Hicks of Iron Mountain.
Duane was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Edith (Carollo) Bauldry, who passed away on May 4, 2002, and his half-sister, Agnes Hicks of Iron Mountain.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. Fr. Charles Piper will officiate.
Burial will be cemetery Park.

Vernon L. "Pete" Daugherty
KINGSFORD - Vernon L. "Pete" Daugherty, 83, of 808 E. Breen St. in East Kingsford, died, Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1923, in Marion, lower Michigan, son of the late Earl and Willemina (Eschtruth) Daugherty. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Hulliberger and a granddaughter, Rhiannon Daugherty.
Pete was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army Air Force.
He married the former Joyce E. Williams on Jan.16, 1948, in Marion. Pete was retired from Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. (DTE), where he had worked as a welder for more than 20 years.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. He loved to play the organ. He and Joyce enjoyed bowling. For many years they spent their winters in Florida on Big Pine Key and Zephyr Hills.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; five sons, Greg (Dianne) Daugherty of Sherburne, N.Y., Blair Daugherty of Kingsford, Garth (Karen Johnson) Daugherty of Breitung Township, Guy (Pam) Daugherty of Vulcan and Mark Daugherty of Hurst, Texas; his daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" (Vince) Gutierrez of Twinsburg, Ohio; a sister, Madeline (Ron) Mulvaney in Daytona, Fla; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. Rev. Debbie Thomas will officiate.
Burial will be in the Quinnesec cemetery.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.

Ann Marie Trindal
NIAGARA, Wis. - Ann Marie Trindal, 42, of Niagara, went to eternal life on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born April 29, 1964, in Waupaca, Wis. She was devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by five children, Kenneth, Mathew, Elliott, and Paige Trindal, at home and Heidi (Thomas) Oczus of Marinette, Wis.; her parents, Darlene Weinreis of Niagara and Ronald Trindal of Spread Eagle, Wis.; her brother, Michael (Betty, her best friend) Trindal; a sister, Victoria (Michael) Bourassa; her grandparents, Ethel (Norman) Penney of Waupaca, Wis.; a grandson, Ethan Oczus of Marinette; longtime friend, Raymond Parker of Vulcan; aunts and uncles, Kristine (Tom) Shambeau, Richard (Millie) Trindal, and Raymond (Diane) Trindal, all of Waupaca and Rozane (Clifford) Webber of Carney, Wis.; a special nephew, Jason Ritzenhein and a special great-niece, Destany; a nephew, Christopher (Emilia) Ritzenhein Jr.; a niece, Tanya (Homer) Holmes and her younger brothers, Justin and Jacob Bourassa; and a very special family, the Thompsons and their mother, Leona Piche of Niagara.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home
Service will follow Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate.
