Edwin Johnston
Edwin A. Johnston, 68 of Port Huron, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital. He was born to Harvey and Margaret Johnston on September 19, 1935 in Port Huron, attended the Port Huron schools, and graduated from Port Huron High School in 1954.
Edwin served in the U.S. Army and then worked for the federal government in Cadillac, MI and Chicago, IL. He attended the First Congregational Church. He enjoyed watching sports on television, especially baseball and football. He also liked to play cards.
He is survived by his brother, Stuart (Mary Ann) Johnston, and his nephew, Terry Johnston, both of Port Huron. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marianne Johnston.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2004 in Smith Family Funeral Home-South, 1230 Seventh Street. The Rev. Reid Benedict of First Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery at a later time. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Contributions may be made in Edwin's memory to First Congregational Church or American Heart Association.
Irene McKenzie
Irene J. McKenzie, 72, of North Street, died Friday, April 11, 2003.
She was born April 11, 1931 in Port Huron to the late Harvey and Jennie Hubble.
She married
Gordon "Gene" McKenzie on July 11, 1949 in Port Huron. He died Dec. 1, 1997.
Mrs. McKenzie was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family and friends, playing cards and garage sales.
She is survived by two sons, Harvey McKenzie of North Street and David McKenzie of Avoca; four daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle (Diana) Jarvis of North Street, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (Chris) Schott of Port Huron, Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Carol) Totten of Jeddo and Karen Jones of Burtchville; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Vanderpool of Burtchville; her mother-in-law, Violet McKenzie of North Street; a sister-in-law, Beverly Hubble; a brother-in-law, Doug Rich; an aunt, Eleanor Hubbell; and special friend, Mary Jane French.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry; a daughter-in-law, Kathie; a granddaughter, Jillian Wildie; three sisters, Patricia Gustincic, Cathy Rich and Betty Sweet; two brothers, Harvey and Lloyd Hubble; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Hubble.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2003 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Private family services will be held.
Burial will be in Kinney cemetery, Clyde Twp.

Alma Falk Hewitt
Alma Falk Hewitt, 89, of Port Huron was called to her eternal home on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Hewitt, a naturalized citizen, was born Feb. 24, 1911, in Baskakovka, Russia,
She came to the United States in 1912 and maintained permanent residency in the Port Huron area.
She married
Kenneth Hewitt on June 27, 1937, in Port Huron. He died in 1984.
She retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1974. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed many hobbies including china painting, crocheting and fine needlework. She was an avid reader, loved to play cards and was a member of the senior citizens euchre club in Marysville.
Mrs. Hewitt is survived by two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Budd (Barbara) Lester of Lakeville and Sharon Hewitt of Port Huron; six grandchildren, Steven Lester,
Lon Lester, Lauri Hoffman, Julie Vittone, Katherina Wahl and Rebecca White; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Mr. and Mrs. John (Lois) Falk; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Kesteloot and Dorothy Matthews; three brothers, Alexander, Karl and David Falk.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2001, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Gordon Peterson of St. Paul Lutheran Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Port Huron Township.
Pallbearers will be Steven and Lon Lester, Jeffery White, Darrel Raymo, David Falk and James Falk.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Margaret Sharrow
Margaret R. Sharrow, 78 of Port Huron, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2004 in Marwood Manor Nursing & Rehab and is now in the hands of Our Lord and Savior.
She was born to August and Rose Ziviski on March 9, 1926 in Detroit, MI.
Margaret will be sadly missed by her son, Joseph S. (Robin Hobson) Lester, Flint, MI; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; her sister, Ann Randall, New York; and her brother, Edward Ziviski, Richmond, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Sharrow on June 14, 1978.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street. The Rev. David Caswell of Northgate Bible Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Tolitha Battle
Miss Tolitha Laura Battle, 85, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 in Port Huron Hospital.
She was born May 13, 1918 in Port Huron to the late James Arthur and Lola Battle.
Miss Battle worked for the State of Michigan with the Green Thumb Program for many years. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Miss Battle enjoyed fishing, playing cards and reading.
She leaves to mourn her passing a son, Samuel Battle; a sister, Mary Ashford of College Park, Georgia; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Ella Battle and four brothers, William, Robert, James and Samuel Battle.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2003 in Shiloh Baptist Church, Port Huron.
Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery, Port Huron.
Mildred K. Weaver
Mildred Kay Weaver, 58, of Port Huron died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, in Port Huron Hospital.
She was born Dec. 3, 1943, in Port Huron to Victor T. and Gladys Sherbutt Cline.
She married
Louis Weaver, on Oct. 1, 1960, in Port Huron.
Mrs. Weaver was a member of Full Gospel Church of God.
She is survived by four sons, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan A. (Sandra) Weaver of Port Sanilac, Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Monica) Weaver of Croswell, Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln A. (Norma Jean) Weaver and Mrs. and Mrs. Louie (Jennifer) Weaver, all of Port Huron; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Laurie) Martin of Port Huron; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald (Beverly) Shafer of Port Huron; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Weaver; a brother, Lincoln Cline; two sisters, Jenny Ostrander and Madeline Warren; and a nephew, Ronald Shafer II.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002, in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Ruth Cummins of Full Gospel Church of God will officiate.
Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Peck.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan, Joe, Billy Joe and Sammuel Weaver, Jeff Silverthorn and Carl Shafer.
Laurellee Schultz
Laurellee Harmon Schultz, 63 of Chesterfield Twp. and formerly of Port Huron, passed away Monday, April 12, 2004 in Mt. Clemens General Hospital. She was born to Harry and Evelyn Harmon on December 2, 1940 in Port Huron, attended the Port Huron schools, and graduated from Port Huron High School in 1958. Laurellee was a legal secretary for St. Clair County for over 20 years.
She is survived by her two children, Debbie (Scott) Cichoracki, Chesterfield Twp., MI and Nicholas Schultz, Port Huron; her three grandchildren, Mark, Colton, and Katharine Cichoracki; her brother Charles 'Bud' (Sandra) Harmon, Port Huron; her nephew, Jeffrey (Tricia) Harmon, Port Huron; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Mark James Foglesong, and a brother, Harry E. Harmon Jr.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street. The Rev. Stephen Johnson, Pastor of Hillside Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery at a later time. Visitation will be in the funeral home Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Suzanne M. Fleury Nichols
Suzanne Marie Fleury-Nichols, age 60, of Port Huron, died Friday, November 10, 2000, in her son's home following a short illness.
She was born April 9, 1940, in Port Huron and was a lifelong resident.
Her family was her entire life and she enjoyed baseball.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher John (Sheryl) Nichols of Clyde and Craig Stephen (Colene), Nichols of Emmett; her grandchildren, Cara Lynn, Kaleih Allison and Brian Christopher of Clyde; her sisters, Mary (Anthony) O'Donnell of Eastpointe, and Phyllis J. Fleury of Port Huron; brother W. Joseph (Joyce) Fleury of Gahana Ohio; her sister, Yvonne (Larry) Snowden of Port Huron; her brothers, Charles (Helen) Fleury of Port Huron, Dennis (Beverly) Fleury Burtchville Township and Lawrence (Melissa) Fleury of Port Huron; her sisters, Virginia (Joseph) Walker of Saginaw and Pauline (Robert) Deering of Port Huron, brother, Paul (Sandra) Fleury of Fort Gratiot: her sister, Annette (Patrick)
McAuley of Blue Springs, Mo.; her brother, James (Deborah) Fleury, of Kimball; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Rickett of Mt. Rose, Mich.; her sister-in-law, Linda Fleury of Port Huron; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by sons, Correy Michael and Curtiss Anthony; her sister, Vivian Rickett; and brother, Daniel Fleury.
Her nephews, will serve as her pallbearers.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stephen Church. The Rev. David J. Lesniak, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A, Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Frederick Nuske
Frederick Nuske, 86, of Marysville, passed away Monday, October 30, 2000 in his home.
He was born July 17, 1914 in Port Huron to the late Herman and Thersa Niebauer. He married
Evelyn Gunningham June 18, 1938, in Port Huron. she died in 1968. he married
Beccy (Trese) Snyder July 26 1969, in Port Huron.
Mr. Nuske retired from Grand Trunk Western Railroad ad a switchman. He was a member of the Starville Church. He enjoyed working in his garden.
he is survived by his wife, Beccy; his two daughters, Karen (Chuck) Shaw and Becky Myers; two sons, Kenneth (Laurie) Nuske and Robert J. Nuske; two step-sons, Daniel (Mary) Snyder and Robert (Michelle) Snyder; five step daughters, Janet (Richard) Stevenson, Mary Beth (Ronald) Courier, Anne (Richard) Bussey, Susan (Greg) Doan and Kay (John) Watson; 33 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will e from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2000 in Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2000 in Starville Church, Fair haven. The Rev. Robert Tucker will officiate. Burial will be in Kinney cemetery, Clyde Township.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kevin Snyder, Joshua Stevenson, Dercy Courier, Adam Snyder, Chad Bussey and Dan Snyder.
