Jeannette M. Kidd

Jeannette M. Kidd, 86 of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2001.

She was born September 14, 1914 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Fleetwood and Bertha Lindsey. She married James L. Kidd on June 28, 1934 in Port Huron. He died June 5, 1978.

She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley (Lady) Kidd and Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Pam) Kidd all of Port Huron; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; a son-in-law, James Venema; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Kidd, both of Pointe Edward, Ontario; two sisters-in-law Ruby Kidd and Theresa Lindsey both of Port Huron; many nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 7-9 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2001 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2001 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Rev. Reid Wiley of Metropolitan Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Howard A. May

Howard A. May, 77, of Kimball Township went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, in Port Huron Hospital.

He was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Port Huron to the late Miles and Lois (Browne) May. He was a lifelong area resident. He married Lorraine Penzenhagen on March 9, 1947, in Port Huron.

Mr. May was employed with Grand Trunk Western Railroad.

He was a 1940 graduate of Port Huron High School. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division during World War II.

He was a member of Ross Bible Church, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 12, and a life member of the 11th Airborne Association.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Ron (Christine) May of Rochester Hills and Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) May of Kimball Township; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Randy (LaCinda) Anderson of Kimball Township; and seven grandchildren, Thadeaus Anderson, and Niquole, Andrew, Jeremiah, Amy, Christian and Katherine May

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2001, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2001, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Horne. The Rev. Mike Newman of Ross Bible Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Thadeaus Anderson, and Jeremiah, Amy, Christian, Katherine and Dustin May.

Memorials may be made to Ross Bible Church Building Fund.

Mildred L. Smith

Mrs. Mildred L. Smith, 94, of Fort Gratiot Township died Tuesday, February 6, 2001, in the Evangelical Home of Port Huron.

She was born Sept. 14, 1906 in Harbor Beach to the late George and Mary Smith.

She married Ray VanCamp in 1937. He died in 1972. She married Charles Hanton in 1974. He died in 1984. She married Kenneth Smith in 1986. He died in 2000.

She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and the Lydia Circle.

She is survived by a son, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Arleene) VanCamp of Runnemede, N.J.; a daughter, Mary Louise Ramsey of Concord, Calif.; stepdaughter, Shirley Turley of Dallas; two stepsons, Charles Kyle Hanton of Sarasota, Fla., and Robert Hanton of Dallas; nine grand-children Charles, David, Steven, and William VanCamp, Cindy Lou Beerbower, Cathy Koehler, Charlene VanCamp, Mark Ramsey and Nancy Faull; and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew and Sarah Ramsey, Taryn Faull, Jeffery, Devon and Derick Koehler and Jacob Beerbower.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2001, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, Port Huron. Dr. Richard D. Lobb will officiate.

Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Yale.

Mrs. Smith's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Port Huron.

William "Willy" John Liverance

William "Willy" John Liverance, 14, of Jeddo, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, in Children's Hospital, Detroit.

He was born April 10, 1986, in Port Huron and was a lifelong Port Huron area resident.

Billy was a student at Woodland Developmental Center. He was involved with the Special Olympics for five years in frisbee toss, ball throwing, and the 25-meter walk.

Billy enjoyed going to school, listening to music and watching his favorite videos.

The Liverance family would like to express their special thanks to Woodland Developmental Center, Community Mental Health and Dr. Sharron Johnson at Children's Health Care for all their help, support and love that they brought Billy.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William (Linda) Liverance; a sister and best friend, Monica; a grandfather, Myron "Mike" Lewis; a great-grandmother, Dolores E. Lewis; several aunts and uncles including a special uncle, Jerry "Jake" Liverance; and his many friends at Woodland Developmental Center.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alda and Herbert Liverance, Sr., William Sedwick Jr. and Joan "Sue" Lewis; and an uncle, Herbert Liverance, Jr.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2001, and Thursday, January 4, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Horne.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. W. Emerson Arntz of Jeddo United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Burtchville Township cemetery, Lakeport.

Pallbearers will be William Sedwick III, William Sedwick IV, Jerry Liverance, Tim Reckker, Craig Reckker and Mike Swinson. Honorary pallbearers will be James Herriman and Dennis Hill.

Memorials may be made to the family, which will be used to buy special-needs equipment at the Woodlands Developmental Center.

Eleanor M. J. Minnie

Mrs. Eleanor M. J. Minnie, 86, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 17, 2001 in Port Huron Hospital.

She was born April 18, 1914 in Port Huron to the late Orville and Mary (Klammer) Simpson and was a life long area resident. She married William Frank Minnie, October 18, 1939 in Port Huron. He died in 1982.

Mrs. Minnie attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church and was a member of the Port Huron Hospital Auxiliary, Blue Water League of the Blind and Salvation Army Golden Agers.

She is survived by two sons, Mr. & Mrs. Raymond F. (Norma) Minnie of Shelton, Washington and Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Lee (Sharon) Minnie of Port Huron; a daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Michael (Janice) Krafft of Burtchville; thirteen grandchildren; Bobbie, Randy, Troy and Jeff Minnie, Tina (Randy) Shreeve, Julie (Tom) Kulfan, John Gorrell, Brian (Liz) Minnie, Billy Minnie, Carol Minnie, Deb (Brian) Glombowski, Mike Marriott and Ken (Maria) Marriott; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Stokes and Bill Pettit; several nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Corrine Wells. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kathy Minnie, two sisters, Charlotte Pettitt and Hazel Stokes and two brothers, Bill Simpson and Charles Althouse.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2001 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Stanley W. Liechty of Colonial Woods Missionary Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. Mrs. Minnie's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Lloyd Stokes.

Memorials may be made to Colonial Woods Missionary Church.

William Moncrief

William Moncrief, 80 of Port Huron, passed away Monday, January 15, 2001 in Marwood Manor Nursing and Rehab after a long illness. He was born to Silas & Eliza Moncrief on March 27, 1920 in Orville, Alabama, and worked for many years at Moak Machine & Foundry Co. He was kind and friendly, a hard worker, and would often sing as he walked to work

He leaves to mourn his passing his two sisters, Bessie Cobb, Port Huron, and Josie Smith, Maryland; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and three sisters.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, January 22, 2001 in Smith Family Funeral Home-South, 1230 Seventh Street. The Rev. John L. Portis, Pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. The family hour will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday.

Sylvia M. Molinaro

Sylvia M. Molinaro, 89, of Port Huron, died Jan. 1, 2001 after a long illness.

She was born on May 18, 1911, in Mills and had lived in Port Huron most of her life. She married Louis F. Molinaro on Feb. 7, 1931. He died July 7, 1989.

She was a beautician in the area for many years. She also ran the newspaper stand in the Michigan National Bank Building for 20 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church and belonged to the Christian Mothers. She was a former member of the Quota Club.

She is survived by grandson, Joseph P. (Debra) Gibbons of Jeddo; granddaughter, Mary Kathleen Gibbons of Port Huron; granddaughter, Christine (Brian) Bruxvoort of Ferndale; grandson, Michael Gibbons of Lansing; granddaughter, Amy Molinaro of Harbor Beach; great-grandchildren, Emily Janice, Elizabeth Mae and Janice Rebecca Gibbons; sister, Fern VanWormer of Melbourne, Fla.; son-in-law, Joseph L. Gibbons of' Lexington Heights; daughter-in-law, Laurene Molinaro of Harbor Beach; brother-in-law, Joseph (Jeanette) Molinaro of Marysville; and sister-in-law, Natalie McGuire of Marysville.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Molinaro and Janice Gibbons, and a son, Louis J. Molinaro.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2001, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. C. Paul Higdon will officiate. Inurnment will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2001, in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

There will be a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Alberta H. Porter

Alberta H. Porter, 73, of Mount Clemens, died Saturday, January 27, 2001, in Macomb General Hospital after a short illness.

She was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Port Huron and had lived there until 1988 when she moved to Mount Clemens.

She married Norman Porter on April 10, 1948, in Port Huron. He died in June 1988.

She was a past member of the Moose Lodge 158.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma (Gerry) Garland of Mesick; sons, David Porter of Zephyrhills, Fla., Kenny (Pat) Porter of Mount Clemens, Robert (Cathy) Porter of Albion, Vincent (June) Porter of North Carolina, Burt Porter of Port Huron and Brian (Marion) Porter of Port Huron; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Jackie) Post of Port Huron; sisters, June Groff of Port Huron, Dorothy (Richard) Sollman of Zephyrhills, Fla., Judy (John) Fellman of Port Huron and Patricia Horn of Port Huron; aster-in-law, Penny Post of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brother% Harold and Robert Post; and four sisters, Eva Moran Betty Olvera, May

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2001, in Smith Family Funeral Home-South. The Rev. Dan Bakay will officiate. Cremation will follow.

Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2001, in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.

Lara Rita Parslow

Mrs. Lara Rita Parslow, 67, of Columbus Township, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 11 2001 in River District Hospital.

She was born October 31, 1933 in Earlington, Ky, , to the late John and Lottie (Cole) Brown. She married Thomas R. Parslow in Algonac.

Mrs. Parslow was a member and Deaconess of Columbus Bible Church. She had many hobbies but her best asset was helping other people in trouble.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-five, years, Thomas; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Elizabeth) Lalonde of Shelby Township; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Todd (Pattie) Goodwin of Algonac and William Goodwin and Marcie of Orchard Lake; 4 step-daughters, Terri Moncus and Julie Ann Parslow, both of Albany, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Jay (Kathyrn) Harris of Columbus, Ga., and Kelly Dianne Parslow of Albany, Ga.; a step-son ML and Mrs. Richard (Donna) Parslow of Atlanta Ga.; fourteen grandchildren; a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Jenny) Brown of St Clair Shores; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2001, in Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2001 in Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Woodrow Nelson of Columbus Bible Church will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Columbus Bible Church, Bible and Hymnal Fund.
