Shirley Gray

Shirley A. Gray, age 69, of Fort Gratiot and formerly of Riverview, Michigan died Sunday, October 16, 2005 in her home after a long illness.

She was born December 22, 1935 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. She lived in Fort Gratiot for the past five years.

Shirley was a Registered Nurse, and worked primarily as an Administrator.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie (Doug) Murdoch of Lansing and Susan (John) Rendina of Monroe; five grandchildren, Mara, Rachel, and Ava Rendina of Monroe, and Gina and Anthony Murdoch of Lansing; two sisters, Martha Alberti of Beaver Falls, PA, and Rose Marie (John) Stasick of Ellwood City, PA; a brother, Arthur Piscitelli of North Pointe, Florida; sisterinlaw, Betty Pelli of Farmington Hills; a dear friend, Mary Moloney of Detroit; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Pelli; and a brotherinlaw, Tulius Alberti.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, October 30, 2005 in the Lake Huron Woods Retirement Village, 5221 Lakeshore Rd., Fort Gratiot, MI with Mary Ann Stackpoole officiating.

Following the service friends are invited for luncheon and fellowship at the Thomas Edison Inn in Port Huron.

Memorials may be made to the People's Clinic for Better Health at Mercy Hospital in Port Huron or the Visiting Nurse's Association in Port Huron.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Smith Family Funeral HomeNorth, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron.

James H. Hudson

James H. Hudson, 80, of Kimball Township, formerly of Mount Clemens, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 12, 2001, in Mercy Hospital.

He was born Jan. 7, 1921, in Richmond, VA, to the late Johnie P. and Eugenia Porter Hudson.

Mr. Hudson, married Blanche Dyson-Holycross on Sept. 22, 1984, in Mount Clemens.

Mr. Hudson was a court reporter for the Macomb County Circuit Court for 32 years. He served in the US. Army Air Corps during World War II as a staff sergeant. He, was a crew chief in charge of men performing a maintenance inspections and repairs on B-25, B-26 and P-47 aircraft. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Clemens and Post 29 American, Veterans, Mount Clemens.

He enjoyed bowling and engaging in political debates.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche; two sons, Dr. and Mrs. James G. (Karen) Hudson of Reno, Nev., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Jane) Hudson of Troy; two daughters Mr. and Mrs. Bruce (Christine) Goodwin of Clinton Township and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Julie) Grigaitis of White Lake Township; their mother, Mrs. Margaret (Mikelait), Hudson; three stepchildren Hollise Holycross, Sandra. Holycross and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur (Jennifer), Holycross; nine grandchildren, Alexander, Annemarie, Elaine, Veronica, Jeffery, Janelle, Stephanie, Rebecca and Lauren; three stepgrandchilldren, Laura; Mark and Nicole; three brothers, Porter Hudson, Mr. and Mrs.Donald (Nellie) Hudson and Linwood (Shirley) Hudson; three sisters Helen Philllp, Beatrice Longest and Charlene Reardon; and, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosie Ethelyn Hudson, on June 8, 1927.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2001, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday, April 18, 2001, in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert 0. Brown of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Clemens will officiate.

Milan M. Reynolds

Milan M. Reynolds, 77, of Fort Gratiot died Friday, April 6, 2001 in Faith Medical Care Center, St. Clair after a long illness.

He was born March 21, 1924 in Leon, Iowa to the late Roscoe and Alta (Dunham) Reynolds. He married his beloved wife, Marion R. Johnston on July 14, 1944 in Port Huron.

Mr. Reynolds was employed with Mueller Brass Company for 43 years working in the Brass Shop, Planning, Department and retiring as Sales Manager hi the Customer Service Department. He was Past Master of Fort Gratiot Lodge #374 F. & A.M. and also served his lodge as secretary for 12 years, treasurer for seven years and was District Deputy Instructor of District 21-A, F. & A.M. In 1985, he was selected by the Grand Master of Michigan as Mason of the Year for the State of Michigan. He was a member of Huron Chapter #27 Royal Arch Masons, Port Huron Commandery #7 Knights Templar, Past Patron for six terms of Mystic Chapter #58 O.E.S. and was appointed by the Worthy, Grand Matron as Grand Representative of Mississippi in Michigan. He also was a member of Grace Episcopal Church for more than 40 years and served on the Church Vestry.

He is survived by his wife, Marion; son, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory (Judi) Reynolds of Fort Gratiot; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George (Marcia) Baldwin of Sarnia; four grandchildren, Cody and Caitlin Reynolds and Jeremy and Sherri Baldwin; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs., Arlo (Marguerite) Reynolds and Clyde Reynolds; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, C. Neil and Fred Reynolds and a sister, Cecil Hamilton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2001, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services consisting of a Masonic Memorial followed by an Eastern Star Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Fort Gratiot Lodge #374 F&A.M. or Grace Episcopal Church.

Shirley Spencer

Shirley E. Spencer, 71 of Port Huron, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 in Marwood Nursing & Rehab. She was born to Charles and Pearl McKinnon on September 17, 1935 in Port Huron, graduated from Port Huron High School in 1953 as Class Salutatorian, and received her Associates Degree from Port Huron Jr. College in 1963.

On August 14, 1965, Shirley married Clarence 'Don' Spencer. She worked as a secretary at numerous local companies and organizations including St. Clair County, Acheson Colloids, and the Port Huron District Foundation from where she retired after 25 years of service. Her hobby was writing poetry.

Shirley is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Clarence 'Don' Spencer; two children, Kathryn Lee (Mario) Garzarelli of Delran, NJ and Kevin Charles Armstrong of Lennon; three granddaughters, Dianne, Nancy, & Bonnie Garzarelli, all of Delran, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Clover McKinnon of Michigan and Donna McKinnon of Midland; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Floyd, Harold, & Kenneth McKinnon, and a sister, Dorothy Spencer.

A service in Shirley's memory will take place on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 12:00 noon in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the Marysville Riverlawn Columbarium.

Doris V. Bankson

Doris V. Bankson, 80, of Fort Gratiot died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, in Evangelical Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 19, 1921, in Detroit to the late Percy and Clarrisa (Downer) Boult. She married Lyle C. Bankson on Aug. 30, 1940, in Port Huron. He died Jan. 14, 2001.

Mrs. Bankson was employed at Sperry's department store for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Beadle of Yale; a son-in-law, Roy Konik of Port Huron; five grandchildren, Kimberly Clark, Marti (Steve) Snuggs, Michael (Kim) Pollock, Timothy Beadle and Jayson (Mary) Beadle; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mr. and Mrs. Glen (Arliene) Gottsleben of Fort Gratiot; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Konik, and a sister, Wanetah Bonney.

Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Snuggs, Timothy Beadle, Jayson and Mary Beadle.

Tammy Bennett

Tammy L. Bennett, age 46, of Port Huron, entered into the joy of her new life with Jesus on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 in her home with her family present, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born on July 12, 1957 in Saginaw, and has lived in Port Huron for the past 24 years.

She married Terry L. Bennett on Aug. 19, 1978 in Chesaning, MI.

Tammy was graduated from Chesaning High School, and then from Alma College, where she received a B.A. in Education.

Shortly after graduation she worked at the Y.M.CA. as the Child Care Administrator. She was also licensed to care for children in her home.

Tammy was a role model for children, and coached cheerleading at both Marysville High School and at New Life Christian Academy. Most recently she taught 5th grade at New Life Christian Academy. She was a member of Colonial Woods Missionary Church, where she sang in the choir, and was involved in many of the church's activities.

She is survived by her husband, Terry L. Bennett; son, Kyle Bennett; two daughters, Chelsie Bennett and Brittany Bennett, all of Port Huron; her mother and father, Marion and Bob Weigold of Chesaning; four sisters, Lorraine (Larry) DeHues of Chesaning, Cindy (Steve) Tikkanen of Comstock Park, MI, Lisa (Rocky) Rokosky of Custer, MI and Linda (Bill) Young of Chesaning; and a brother, Steve (Sue) Weigold of Chesaning; mother-in-law, Beryl Bennett of Comstock Park; brother-in-law, Chuck (Linda) Bennett of Manistee; sister-in-law, Cheryl (David) Abney of Clewiston, Florida; sister-in-law, Cindy (David) Ankney of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bert Pirochta in 1965; and her father-in-law, Edward Bennett in 1979.

The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Colonial Woods Missionary Church, 3240 Pine Grove Ave., Port Huron, with Rev. Phil Whetstone officiating.

A graveside committal service will follow in Lakeside cemetery.

Tammy's nephews will be pallbearers.

Friends may visit at the Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St. Port Huron today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

Memorials may be made to New Life Christian Academy Building Fund or to Colonial Woods Christian Counseling Center.

Ruth Foster

Ruth M. Foster, 85, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003 after a two year battle with cancer, in Vero Beach, Florida.

She was born Dec. 25, 1918 in Battle Creek, MI to Earl and Georgia Welsh.

She married Louis H. Foster on June 15, 1940. They met while attended Olivet College.

Ruth and her family had a full life skiing, sailing, traveling and showing horses. She loved playing bridge and golf. She and her husband owned Foster Builder's Supply in Port Huron and later Marysville Marine Distributors.

She is survived by her husband, Louis H. Foster of Vero Beach, Florida and Port Huron; her daughter, Nan F. (Bill) Oliver of Fort Gratiot; her son, Louis H. Foster III of Fort Gratiot; her brother, James (Ann) Welsh of Battle Creek; her granddaughter, Abbey M. (Jim) Brown of Goodells; two great-grandchildren, Madison Emily Brown and Carson Mitchell Brown. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Andrew Oliver, Katherine Knox and Michelle Sheffield; nieces, Laura S. Foster of Port Huron, Sarah (Chris) Kiessling of Groton, MS, Joanne Devlin of Boston, MS, Jennifer (Kim) Kaupp of Mendham, NJ and Bethany McCotter of Battle Creek; nephews, Charlie (Cindy) Foster of Fort Gratiot and Carson Y. Foster of Charlevoix, MI.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Legge of Short Hills, NJ; and nephew, Jim Welsh of Battle Creek.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a service in Ruth's memory at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at Grace Episcopal Church in Port Huron. The Rev. Robert Trask will officiate. Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.

Visitation will be at Grace Episcopal Church after the memorial service.

Contributions may be made to Grace Episcopal Church in Ruth's memory.

Arrangements are by Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St.

Melvin Anglebrandt

Melvin P. Anglebrandt, age 78, of Port Huron, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003.

He was born on Oct. 28, 1925 in Port Huron, son of the late Philip and Clara Anglebrandt.

He was a former employee of Yeager Bridge Company and retired from American Tape.

Melvin loved fishing, motorcycle riding and old cars.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Lois Anglebrandt of Smiths Creek; son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Annette Anglebrandt of Port Huron; son, Tim Anglebrandt of Marysville; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Darlene Anglebrandt of Novi; son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Carol Barnett of Port Huron; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Scott Werner of Port Huron; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Walter Kamendat of North Street; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. Pastor Don Sperling will officiate.

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m.

Memorial tributes may be made to the wishes of the family.

Robert W. Baldock

Robert W. Baldock, 52, passed away April 17, 2001 at home from complications of exposure to Agent Orange during the Viet Nam War. He was surrounded by his family.

He was born May 20, 1948 in Holyoke, Mass., to Robert C. and Dorothy M. (Weiss) Baldock. He was raised in Port Huron and spent his life there. He married Beth E. Stocker of Croswell on June 19, 1981 in Fort Gratiot.

Mr. Baldock served in the US. Navy from 1966-68 and spent fourteen months stationed at DaNang, Viet Nam. He was a member of Carpenter's Local #1067, DAV Chapter #12 and Charles Hammond Post #8 American Legion. He enjoyed metal and coin detecting, going to casinos and watching NASCAR.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Beth; twin sons, Lloyd Edward and Lance William Baldock and sop, Robert Frank Baldock, all of Port Huron; a granddaughter, Rochelle N. Toles of Marysville; his mother, Dorothy M. Baldock, a sister, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick (Rosemary A.) Francek all of Fort Gratiot; three nieces, Debra M. Francek, Mr. and Mrs. Norman (Darcy M.) Ottenbacher and Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Tracy A.) Kozlowski; a nephew, ~ Andrew J. Francek; a great niece, , Hannah J. Kozlowski; an aunt, Ruby Perry and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins; and very special, friend, William Hoffman of East China.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Baldock in 1991 and a sister, Shirley M. Baldock in 1975.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2001, in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home to proceed to Ruby cemetery for graveside services. The Reverend Dennis Collins will officiate.

Graveside military honors will be done under the auspices of St. Clair County Allied Veterans. Pallbearers will be Lloyd, Lance and Robert Baldock; Larry Perry, Gary Weiss and William Hoffman.
