Edward S. Bugaiski

Mr. Edward S. Bugaiski, 75, of Burtchville Township went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2002 after a long illness.

He was born April 20, 1927 in Detroit to the late Dominic and Elizabeth (Hodar) Bugaiski. He married Zelma J. Wilson on September 14, 1949 in Sandusky.

Mr. Bugaiski retired from Mueller Brass Company in 1989 after 28 years of service. He was a member of North Lakeport Wesleyan Church. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Bugaiski was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved to hunt, fish and hang around with his dog and pal Shadow.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Zelma 'Bonnie' Bugaiski; four sons, Mr. & Mrs. Gary (Carolynn) Bugaiski, Mr. & Mrs. Gregory (Janet) Bugaiski of Lakeport, Randy Bugaiski and friend, Kim Landry of Fort Gratiot and Rev. & Mrs. Robby (Sarah) Bugaiski of West Branch; two daughters-in-law, Peggy Wood of Port Huron and Bonnie Deising of Lakeport; fifteen grandchildren, Jody and Tammy, Michael, Aaron and Amber, Danielle, Katie and Michael, Jeffrey, Amy, Sara, Scott, Josh, Hannah and Ashley; three sisters, Mr. & Mrs. Eddie (Frances) Mroz of St. Clair Shores, Loretta Sobeck and Jean Skcarczewski, both of Warren; a sister-in-law, Jean Wilson of Fort Gratiot; several nieces & nephews; and his dog, Shadow. He was preceded in death by a sister, Stella and two brothers, Walter and John.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2002 in North Lakeport Wesleyan Church, Lakeport. The Reverend Joseph Braisted will officiate.

Burial will be in Burtchville Township cemetery, Lakeport. Mr. Bugaiski's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the North Lakeport Wesleyan Church or Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist in West Branch.

Marjory Kersul Booher

Marjory Kersul Booher, of Palm Bay, Fla., died Sept. 2, 2002.

She was born in Port Huron, where she graduated from high school and attended junior college. She later completed her studies at the University of Toronto.

She was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Canadian Women's Army Corps as a medical technician.

She belonged to the Challenger Post 348, American Legion in Cape Canaveral, Fla.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Booher; her daughter, Cynthia Leighton; her son, Gary Leighton; her granddaughter, Robin Neal; two great-grand-children; and her two brothers, Robert and William Kersul.

Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.

Local arrangements were by Smith Family Funeral Home- North, 1525 Hancock St., Port Huron.

Bryan R. Bodley

Bryan R. Bodley, 31, of Port Huron died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, in his home.

His gentle soul is now at peace. He is loved and will be missed by many.

He was born Aug. 26, 1971, in Port Huron and was a lifelong resident.

Bryan was a 1989 graduate of Port Huron High School.

He was employed with the Kroger Co. for the past 11 years.

He enjoyed rollerblading, biking and his music.

He is survived by his parents, Robert F. and Geraldine R. Bodley of Port Huron; his brother, Eric J. (Renae) Bodley of Jeddo; his sister and her husband, Rebecca L. Bodley and Jack Johns of Mount Clemens; his sister, Rachel A. Bodley of Port Huron; his grandparents, Dr. Harry M. and Geraldine McCormick, MD of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and his niece, Alix Bodley of Jeddo.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Lumpkin will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, 500 Morris Ave., Springfield, N.J., 07081.

Richard H. Austin

Mr. Richard H. 'Dick' Austin, 93, of Port Huron, died, Friday, September 20, 2002.

He was born August 17, 1909 in Detroit to the late George and Alice (Howell) Austin.

Mr. Austin was employed with Ferro Manufacturing in Detroit. He was a graduate of Highland Park High School, Walsh College of Detroit and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Austin had a relationship with the Christian Science Church. He was a Civil War buff, was active in scouting and enjoyed woodworking, reading and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Olo; a daughter, Lucia Austin Nett; a grandson, Michael Nett; a granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey (Melissa) Wilson; a great grandson, Jacob Michael Wilson; nieces, Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence (Nancy) Gifford and Barbara Clark; and several great nieces & great nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Claypool Austin and a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth (Annabel) Clark.

Interment will be in Riverlawn cemetery, Marysville.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the First Church of Christ, Scientist or Blue Water Hospice.

Roy J. Swoffer

Roy James Swoffer, 76, of Kimball Township died Thursday, March 28, 2002 in Evangelical Nursing Home.

He was born May 3, 1925, in Sanilac County and was a life-long area resident. He was a groundskeeper at Black River Country Club for many years.

He is survived by three brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd (Betty) Swoffer of Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie (Ginger) Swoffer of Marysville and Charles Buckland of Bay City; two sisters, Olive Gonzales of Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Dan (Sue) Wilkinson of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Buckland and a sister, Bernice Nugent.

Interment will on the family plot in Lambs cemetery.

Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Karl Thomas Semrow

Karl Thomas Semrow, 47, of Burtchville Township died Saturday, March 2, 2002, as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born June 29, 1954, in Port Huron.

He graduated from Port Huron Northern High School in 1972.

Mr. Semrow was employed in sales.

He had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed helping others and was an avid bowler and reader.

He is survived by two sons, Corey and Trevor Semrow and their mother, Patricia, of Clyde Township; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore (Betty) Semrow of Fort Gratiot; four brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Karen) Semrow of Fort Gratiot, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin (Karen) Semrow of Port Huron, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey (Jane) Semrow of Fort Gratiot and Timothy Semrow and Robin Bowen of Fort Gratiot; two sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Becky) Faulkner of Fort Gratiot and Mr. and Mrs. Tim (Judi) Langolf of Port Huron; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Stephen C. Johnson of Hillside Wesleyan Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Lambs cemetery, Wales Township.

Pallbearers will be his four brothers and two sisters.

Memorial contributions may be make to the wishes of the family.

Margaret C. Siegrist

Mrs. Margaret C. Siegrist, 92, of Marysville died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, in her home.

She was born July 12, 1909, in Carsonville to the late John and Emily Gallagher Quinlan and was a lifelong area resident.

She married Eugene Siegrist in 1942. He died March 9, 1981.

Mrs. Siegrist was a schoolteacher. She was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening and baking cookies.

She is survived by a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Bennett of Ruby; two sons, Gary Siegrist of Montrose and Maury Siegrist of Marysville; six grandchildren, Rob Bennett, Gina Siegrist, Glenn Siegrist, Cassandra Siegrist, Timothy Siegrist and Mike Green; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Jack (Veronica) Quinlan of Marysville; a sister, Mr. and Mrs. Vern (Eileen) Phipps of Carsonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Siegrist will lie in state at St. Christopher Catholic Church from 10:30 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Arthur Baranowski will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will be at St. Mary's Catholic cemetery, Port Sanilac.

Keegan R. Robinson

Keegan Russell Robinson, 20, of Fort Gratiot unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2002, in his home.

He was born July 16, 1981, in Warren and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1999 graduate of Port Huron Northern High School and was a sophomore at St. Clair County Community College. He was a member of the school's Ecology Club.

He enjoyed reading, golf and was very good with electronics and computers.

Keegan was extremely generous and kind.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Carolyn Y. (Dr. Thomas F.) Mooney of Fort Gratiot; father and stepmother, David R. (Susan) Robinson of St. Clair; two brothers, Jeremy D. Robinson of Lansing and Jordan S. Robinson of East Lansing; grandparents, Lester A. and Frances King of Tennessee; grandmother, Lillian Robinson, St. Clair; several uncles, aunts, stepbrothers and stepsisters; and best friends, Brad Peters and Brandon Lippert.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Rene L. Desmarais, pastor, will officiate.

Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.

Service arrangements are by Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Thomas E. Sears Sr.

Thomas E. Sears Sr., 48, of Marysville passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2002.

He was born to Stuart and Beatrice Sears on Aug. 24, 1953, in St. Clair.

He graduated from Marysville High School in 1971.

He was employed at Sears Collision and was a member of Life of Faith Fellowship Church and the Huron Chippers Wood Carving Club.

He is survived by his two children, Thomas E. Sears II of Port Huron and Brandy Sears of Lexington, and their mother, Roxanne Sears; his grandson, Rayne Sears; his eight brothers and sisters, David S. (Judy) Sears and William B. Sears, both of Port Huron, Jean M. (George) Dersch of Marysville, Alan C. (DeEsta) Sears of Port Huron, Lois A. (Dave) Hunwick of St. Clair, Beatrice R. (Ronald) Churchill of Marysville, Connie S. (Fred) McComb of Clyde Township and Robert L. Sears of Kimball Township; several nieces and nephews; his great-aunt, Carol (Alex) Schwartzkoph of Holt; his former mother-in-law, Ruth Horning and her family; and many special friends, including Lindsay Gauthier, and his uncle and good friend, Paul McLain.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002, in Smith Family Funeral Home-South, 1230 Seventh St. The Rev. Tom Seppo, pastor of Life of Faith Fellowship Church, will officiate.

Cremation will follow. Interment will be in Riverlawn cemetery at a later time.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Contributions may be made in Tom's memory to the wishes of his family.
