Brian Kuehn

Brian Michial Kuehn, 16 of Clyde Twp., passed on unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 1, 2004.

He was born March 9, 1988 in Port Huron and was a junior at Port Huron Northern High School.

Brian had been active in the Fort Gratiot Little League baseball program for many years and was a member of the Port Huron Elks Golf Club and Port Huron Golf Club. He enjoyed golf, outdoor sports, playing poker with his buddies, and cruising in his Durango.

Brian was a leukemia survivor thanks to the generous support of the community and a successful bone marrow transplant from a caring and generous man, James "Buck" Buchanan of Kosciusko, MS.

Brian was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his mother, Linda S. Mills; his father, Mike C. Kuehn; his step-father, Dale Mills; his grandparents, Rod and Colleen Smith; his aunt and uncle, Janet and Mark Knust; his uncle, R. Douglas Smith; his aunt, Ginger Western; and his two cousins, Kelly and Kevin Knust, all of Port Huron. He is also survived by his aunt, uncle and cousins, Doug, Paulette, Jason and Justin Mills, Chesterfield Twp.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2004 in First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. Mark Thomas will officiate. Interment will be in Kinney cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street, today from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.

Contributions may be made in Brian's memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, First Presbyterian Church, American Red Cross, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Delores LaVere

Delores J. LaVere, 84, of Kimball Twp., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 in her residence after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Sept. 30, 1920 in Port Huron, daughter of the late Royce and Minnie Isabell.

Delores married Russell R. LaVere on May 9, 1941 in Bowling Green, Ohio.

She worked at Chrysler Corp. during the war. She was also a member of South Park Baptist Church.

She was a loving wife and mother of eight children.

Delores is survived by her husband, Russell R. LaVere of Kimball; daughter, Dianne Fleming of Port Huron; son, Russell LaVere of Newport News, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Sandy LaVere of Port Huron; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Robert Olszewski of Clinton Twp.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Marion LaVere of Kimball; daughter, Geraldine LaVere of Port Huron; daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Paul Bivens of Springfield, Oregon; daughter, Donna LaVere of Kimball; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Schattler of Kimball; brother, Donald Isabell of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lori Burris; brother, Frank Isabell; and a sister, Naomi Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. The Rev. Johnnie Johnson, pastor of Crossroad Christian Center will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Russell LaVere II, Raymond V. LaVere, Timothy LaVere, Richard Portis Jr., Kelly Hamblin and Kenneth Gill Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon LaVere, Brett LaVere, Daniel Hutchinson and Stephen and Sean Hutchinson.

Memorial tributes may be made to the wishes of the family.

Lyman Kellehan

Lyman J. Kellehan, 90, of Marine City, passed away on Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 in St. John River District Hospital after a short illness.

He was born on Oct. 19, 1913 in Walthill, Nebraska, the son of the late Frederick and Hazel Kellehan.

Lyman married Millie Todorovich. She died June 13, 1993.

He was a devoted family man. Lyman enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired from Cadillac Gage in Roseville.

Lyman is survived by a daughter, Joyce Hall of California; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Sue Kellehan of St. Clair Shores; daughter, Wendy Kellehan of Bloomfield Hills; four grandchildren, Doug, Ryan, Sean and Cody Kellehan; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Leah Kellehan; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Margaret Nada; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Angie Remstad.

Private family services will take place.

Cremation arrangements are by Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St.

Larry Irwin

Larry Wayne Irwin, age 52, died September 29, 2004 of cancer.

Survived by wife, Elaine; two sons, Larry and Wayne; two sisters, William (Patricia) Eagle and Darwin (Lois) Dake; one granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Helen Irwin and brothers, Ronald and William Bowen.

Cremation was handled by Jowett Funeral Home.

Sheila Hutchins

Sheila K. Hutchins, 59, of Port Huron, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness.

She was born on May 26, 1945 in Port Huron, daughter of the late Cecil and Leona Pattullo.

Sheila married Robert P. Hutchins on January 5, 1963 in Port Huron.

She was a former employee of Bell Telephone and Mueller Brass Company. She was a member of C.M.A.T. and the Rebecca's and she was also a foster parent.

Shelia is survived by her husband, Robert P. Hutchins of Port Huron; daughter, Doreen Hutchins of Port Huron; son Dale (Heidi) Hutchins of St. Clair; granddaughter Kassandra Reeves of Port Huron; sister and brother-in-law, Sherri (Joe) Schwartz of Potterville, MI; nephew Jeff (Steffanie) Schwartz of Burton.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th Street. Pastor Randy Royston, pastor of New Hope Community Church of God, Charlotte, MI will officiate.

Burial will be in Caswell cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Schwartz, Joe Schwartz, Rodney Reeves, Patrick Heffron, Mark Evans and Will Labadie.

Memorial tributes may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Gloria Hunt

Gloria E. Hunt, 75 of Kimball Twp., passed away Sunday, September 19, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital. She was born to Glen and Gladys McIntyre on December 29, 1928 in Port Huron, and married Curtis P. Hunt on July 26, 1947 in Port Huron.

Gloria was a member of the Blue Water Auxiliary #3702 FOE and enjoyed playing bingo. She was very giving, loved her family deeply, and was always doing things for them. She was 'Mom' to everyone.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 57 years, Curtis P. Hunt; her six children, David C. (Sherry) Hunt, Fort Gratiot Twp., Joanne L. (Ronald) Houle, Kimball Twp., Susan D. Conroy, Port Huron, Patrick S. (Susan) Hunt, Port Huron Twp., Jane C. (Brian) Withun, North Street, and Douglas S. (Laura) Hunt, Kimball Twp.; her fourteen grandchildren, David (Jennifer), James (Katherine), & Jennifer Hunt, Ronald 'Buck, - Renee, & Shelly Houle, Patrick T. Conroy, Stephen & Corey Hunt, Ashley Withun, Doug & Chad Greer, Curtis P. Hunt, and Toni Hamilton; her seven great grandchildren, Nicholas St. James, James Alexis, & Alacia Hunt, Michael Ferguson, and Heather & John Conroy; her two brothers, Gerald (Shirley) McIntyre, Marysville and George (Carol) De St. Aubin, Burtchville Twp.; several nieces & nephews; her best friend, Margaret Anger, and her pet kitty 'Missy.'

She was preceded in death by her father, Glen McIntyre and her mother Gladys De St. Aubin.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2004 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street. Catherine Hastings will officiate. Interment will be in Caswell cemetery at a later time. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Lola Harms

Lola R. Harms, 72, of Port Huron, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness.

She was born May 4, 1932 in Port Huron, the daughter of the late Henry and Althea Campbell.

Lola married Harold Harms on Aug. 21, 1948 in Port Huron. He died in February in 1981.

She was a member of the Eagle's #3702. Lola enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, sewing, crocheting and was a loving grandmother. Sheba was her constant companion.

Lola is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Earl Corbett of Fort Gratiot; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Rick Thompson of Port Huron; six grandchildren, Julianna and Capt. Jeffery Hawley, Richard Bell, Cheryl and Del Marsh, Rewa Thrushman, Allen Bell and Ronald and Shelly Thrushman; 11 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Dollie Campbell of Port Huron; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Dorothy Campbell of Port Huron; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Mary Campbell of Arizona; brother, Gerald Campbell of Port Huron; sister, Delores "Tutti" Murdick of Goodells; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Glenn Wolfe of Port Huron; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Tom Richards of Port Huron; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Harms who died at birth.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. The Rev. Dan Stewart, pastor of Griswold Street Baptist Church will officiate.

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Memorial tributes may be made to the American Heart Association.

James Hamilton

James E. Hamilton, 84, of Port Huron, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1920 in Port Huron, son of the late James and Mary Hamilton.

James married Lorraine Zilver on June 2, 1943 in Alabama.

He served in the United States Navy.

James was a longtime employee of the Detroit Edison and a member of Local 223.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Port Huron; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Raymond Richmond of North Carolina; granddaughter, Deann Chartier of Belleville, MI; granddaughter, Mary Frances and Ali Khaddouma of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Gertrude Hamilton of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Ray and DeLos.

Memorial services will be announced.

Memorial tributes may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Cremation arrangements are by Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St.

Elsie Harkleroad

Elsie L. Harkleroad, age 83, of Smiths Creek, died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 in Mercy Hospital after a long illness.

She was born September 7, 1921 in Ford City, Pennsylvania. She lived in Smiths Creek for the past 56 years.

She married Donald Glenn Harkleroad on May 17, 1947 in Ohio. He died August 17, 1985.

Elsie was a bookkeeper for 24 years for A & P supermarket. She enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, and had a fondness for animals. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Grover) Gates of Marysville; son, Robert Harkleroad of Port Huron; daughter, Joy Lynne Harkleroad of Smiths Creek; daughter, Debra (Raymond) Armstrong of Sarnia; a granddaughter, Jill (Ben) Morales of Port Huron; three grandsons, Christian (Becca) Harkleroad of Marysville, Ian (Kerry) Armstrong of Courtright, Ontario, and Donnie (fiancC Tina King) Armstrong of Sarnia; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Derek, Tatiana, and little Ben; a brother, Kenneth (Inga) Reitler of Largo, Florida; and a sister, Bobbie (The Rev. Harold) Walsh of Grand Blanc.

She was preceded in death by her son, Craig Alan Rosenberger.

The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street with The Rev. Harold Walsh officiating. A graveside committal service will follow in Marysville Riverlawn cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Harkleroad, Grover Gates, Raymond Armstrong, Christian Harkleroad, and Ian and Donnie Armstrong.

Friends may visit Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the St. Clair County Humane Society or the World Wildlife Fund.
